A short but sweet mid-month catch up with Jez and his owner/handler, Phil Gibbon. Jez is a saluki whippet and the youngest of a team of sighthounds that together work under the stage name "Little Nippers", as a performing troupe of terriers and lurchers at country shows all over the UK. Their entertaining performance at country shows educates the public and demonstrates the lost sport of coursing, using an electric lure. Coursing is the hunting of game such as hares with greyhounds, which use sight rather than scent, and has been banned in the UK since 2004. You may recall we met Phil Gibbon a few years back and talked about life as a travelling showman with his pack of dogs and birds of prey to Dogs with Jobs presenter Kate Fairweather. His beloved dogs travel in comfort, like the performers they are, but are also family pets, many names after members of the family. Find other dogs with interesting jobs. Do you work your dog or dogs? Please get in touch with Kate Fairweather if you would be interested in being on the podcast by emailing team@shineradio.uk. © & ℗ Kate Fairweather, 2025 See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The team are back to thrash out another top ten subject. This time is the best moments of Revenge of the Sith, and oh my were there many. We discover that Jez doesn't understand the word 'moment', and that one of the team totally disregards the lightsaber battle between Kenobi and Anakin. Fun as always. What did we miss? Let us know. Enjoy the Show!
Jules and Jez love a good debate, but can you debate anything? Is a debate featuring sexist or fascist views a good idea? Or does it just give airtime to offensive opinions? And will a robot write the next book you read? The Productivity Commission has been looking at AI and it could have big implications for how copyright is controlled.
The Acolyte deep dive!! Like the Acolyte or loathe it, this episode is an honest, full on, sleeves rolled up dive into the Disney+ show which became more divisive to the fan base than The Last Jedi. For this very special recording, Dan and Jez were joined by long time listener and fan of The Old Republic era Mark Spriggs. Mark was brought onboard to provide extra knowledge of the era and was graciously the balance needed against Dan's feelings on the series! In a first for Generation Skywalker, this Disney+ focus show includes mini committees where the lads vote for their Top 5 favourite parts of The Acolyte but also the Top 5 worst parts of the series! You may have previously thought of Jez as the cheeriest of Star Wars fans who laps up all Disney Star Wars content, so this show might surprise you with the direction it takes half way through! This show isn't intended to upset or ostracise anyone but it pulls no punches. Regardless of your stance on the Acolyte, this is a must listen to show!
Police say 90, 000 people walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday, calling for peace in Gaza. So do protests make a difference? And on the same day, the TV Logie Awards were held and Jez was there. In a room full of "tv stars" he was amazed by the humility of so many people who spend their life on the television. Also actor Sydney Sweeney has been making headlines for a new ad campaign about genes and would we all feel lighter and calmer if we walked away from our phones?
The latest images out of Gaza are horrific. There are headlines across the globe and lots of people are posting on social media. But what will it mean for people in Gaza? And Jules and Jez talk about Monica Lewinsky, thirty years after the sex scandal with Bill Clinton broke.
