Today's conversation is with Scott Weir - entrepreneur, property investor, founder of Pillow Partners and Pillow Safe Havens, and a Krav Maga instructor. But Scott's story starts in a very different place. He grew up in an incredibly difficult environment raised by a single alcoholic mother, often living without electricity, stealing food to survive, and surrounded by people heading down dangerous paths involving crime and drugs. In this conversation, Scott shares how he escaped that environment by joining the Royal Navy at just 16 years old, saving his wages while at sea, and buying his first buy-to-let property at only 17.We discuss the mindset required to break generational patterns, the importance of environment, and how Scott navigated seeing childhood friends fall into crime and heroin while he pursued a completely different path.Scott also opens up about being diagnosed with dyslexia later in life, how that completely changed the way he viewed himself intellectually, and why he now sees his neurodivergent brain as both a superpower and something that nearly destroyed his business twice. We also dive into martial arts, Krav Maga, business growth, building Pillow Partners over the last 20 years, adapting a company to survive modern economic pressures, and his outspoken views on UK politics, property ownership, and the future of entrepreneurship in Britain.Expect to learn:How Scott's childhood shaped his early outlook but did not define his futureHow he avoided the dangerous paths many around him fell intoWhy he joined the Royal Navy at 16How he bought his first property at 17The impact being diagnosed with dyslexia had on his confidence and identityWhy neurodivergence can be both a gift and a challenge in businessHow Scott built Pillow Partners into a major property management companyThe lessons martial arts and Krav Maga taught him about discipline and leadershipHow he's transformed the business to make it “bulletproof”Our concerns about UK politics and the future of property investingWhat success looks like for him approaching 50This was a powerful conversation about resilience, escaping your environment, reinvention, entrepreneurship, and creating a completely different life from the one you were born into.Get 20 lessons from 330 CamBro Conversations - https://colcambro.kit.com/60ed1b527b Get my Linkedin for Sales Guide - https://colcambro.kit.com/products/linked-in-personal-brand-for-sellingGet my Peak Productivity BLUEPRINT - https://colcambro.kit.com/products/peak-performance-blueprint Make Millionaire Money Moves - https://millionaire-fhcpmlvz.manus.space Book a conversation about Private Medical Insurance with Lewis & Mark - lewis.mitchell@wpa-hcp.org.uk and Mark.McKenzie@wpa-hcp.org.uk Connect with Scott:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/scottweirofficial/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/scottweirofficial/ Website: https://hosts.pillowpartners.com/ Connect with Col:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/col.cambro/Email List: https://colcambro.kit.com/30bde23b0c Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ColCampbell
Most companies don't fail because they're outcompeted. They fail because they succeed. In this episode, JR speaks with Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup and Incorruptible, about why successful organizations so often lose their mission, values and long-term vision. Eric explains how modern corporate systems incentivize short-term extraction over long-term value creation and that the problem isn't necessarily bad leaders, but structures that slowly corrupt organizations over time.Their conversation covers:Why “shareholder value” became the dominant philosophyHow companies like Costco resisted short-term pressureThe hidden incentives that destroy great businessesAI governance and what OpenAI and Anthropic tell us about the futureHow founders can design companies that survive beyond themWhat employees and consumers can do to help companies stay true to their missionIf you're interested in the impact of capitalism on leadership and innovation, make sure you tune in.Subscribe to Career Sessions on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts for weekly episodes like this. What if the goal of retirement isn't just “more free time”… but a life you're not trying to escape from? Jermaine Ee is a storyteller based in Los Angeles and the founder of HeirLight, a fast, modern, emotionally intelligent way to create a legally binding will, health care directive, and durable power of attorney. In this episode, Jermaine talks about the pressure to postpone life for a promised future—and how clarity often arrives quickly once avoidance ends. You'll hear Jermaine's perspective on defining what is enough (and whose voices shape that definition), why the best days aren't always the big adventures, and how one conversation with his mom led to a dream trip that changed everything. We also touch on estate planning in a refreshingly human way: not as a fear-based task, but as a way to reduce confusion, protect dignity, and care for the people you love.Key Topics: Why so many people trade their present for a promised futureHow culture shapes our definition of “enough”Living for the weekend vs. designing a good TuesdayThe “small paper” exercise: whose opinions actually matterChoosing relationships that add energy (and reducing time with draining ones)Busy vs. meaningful: saying no more oftenA powerful reminder: ask your parents about their dreamsEstate planning as clarity (not fear): will, health care directive, power of attorneyThoughts to ponder Whose voices are shaping your definition of “enough” right now? What's one thing you could do on a random Tuesday that would make it a good day? What conversation are you avoiding that would bring clarity to your family? If you asked your parents (or kids) about their dreams today, what might you learn?Action steps (try this in 7 days) Design your “good Tuesday.” Write down 3 small things that would make an ordinary day feel like a win.Do the small-paper exercise. List the 5–7 people whose opinions truly matter—and stop outsourcing your self-worth to everyone else.Start one clarity conversation. Pick one topic you've been avoiding (health wishes, finances, family expectations, legacy) and take the first step.Connect with Jermaine: HeirLight: https://heirlight.comJermaine: https://eejermaine.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eejermaine**Since recording this episode, HeirLight has expanded its reach and now offers services in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington. Send us Fan MailI want to ask you a powerful question today: Whose report will you believe?Because the truth is the report you believe is shaping your life.Your thoughts.Your expectations.Your actions.Your future. And so many people are living under reports that were never meant to define them.Maybe it's what your family said.Maybe it's what your past looks like.Maybe it's the circumstances you're walking through right now.“Nothing ever works for me.”“This is just how life is.”“I'll never get ahead.”But what if those aren't truth? In this episode, I'm talking about the battle for your mind and why the greatest work you'll ever do is the transformation of your inner life.Because whatever controls your thinking…eventually controls your life. And if you constantly rehearse failure, fear, limitation, and defeat—you'll start building your life around those expectations. But if you begin to align yourself with truth, possibility, and faith…everything starts to shift. We talk about:Why your mindset is shaping your futureHow daily habits reveal what you actually believeThe difference between believing circumstances vs believing truthWhy Joshua and Caleb saw opportunity when everyone else saw defeatAnd how to keep walking when life feels hardBecause here's what I know: Every storm eventually runs out of rain. And if you don't quit…you will see breakthrough.I know some of you listening are walking through really difficult things right now.Loss. Delay. Fear. Setbacks. But I want you to remember this:God is still working. And what feels like a setback today may be the very thing building strength, impact, and purpose inside of you for tomorrow. So this week, I want you to pay attention to the report you're agreeing with.Is it fear?Limitation?Defeat?Or is it truth?Because the report you believe will determine the life you build
“Once I put the plan in place, I have to let go of it, meaning that there needs to be space in my life to listen to my intuition.” –Dr. Mary SandersYou are highly intuitive. Are you listening and trusting the golden nuggets you are receiving? I'm talking with Dr. Mary Sanders, a chiropractor, a medical intuitive, and a positive psychologist about intuition, energy, and grounding.Mary's story, like most, isn't linear. She takes us around the globe and through many years of learning and opening up to her gifts. We agree that planning allows you to be more in the present — even when things don't turn out as you planned. The plan allows you to keep moving and the movement opens up new channels. We talk about: Mary developing different ways of perception due to her hearing deficitHow travel can be disorienting (and what else can disorient us)What can ground you anywhere in the worldLong spiral routes to what you are meant to doCentering our energetic body in the present, not the past or futureHow planning and intuition can work together. ABOUT MARYDr. Mary Sanders is a Doctor of Chiropractic with an emphasis in Functional Nutrition and Positive Psychology. She also obtained a Master's Degree in Intuition Medicine from the Academy of Intuition Medicine. Her life's purpose is to guide you in aligning with your true self, embracing your inner wholeness, and transforming your physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. Her unique expertise lies in an integrative healing approach that combines the intuitive power of energy medicine with the proven tools of positive psychology. LINKShttps://www.drmarysanders.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/drmaryesanders/https://www.youtube.com/@dr.maryesandershttps://www.facebook.com/dr.maryesandershttps://www.instagram.com/dr.maryesandersDOABLE CHANGESAt the end of every episode, we share three doable changes, so you can take what you've heard and put it into action. Change comes from action. Sometimes action gets a bad rap. You can be kind to yourself. You can practice being AND doing, but for change to happen you have to take steps. The way we take care of ourselves is making the steps doable and focusing on one thing at a time. We take time to integrate the change and then move on to the next one. Pick a Doable Change that resonates with you the most to start from. Here are three Doable changes that we chose from this conversation. CHECK YOUR RESOURCES. At one point Mary refers to chocolate and red wine as resources — right before burnout. Sometimes we do rely on resources that aren't really serving or helping us. What are you using for “resources” right now? Are they helping?WHAT GIFT HAVE YOU IGNORED? What is something you are good at or meant to do that you haven't studied or tried because it wasn't practical? How could you explore this gift — either a giant leap or a tiny step? Journal things you could do.PRACTICE PLANNING AND PIVOTING. Do you avoid planning because too much seems up in the air? Or create a plan and hold onto it rigidly? What if you made a plan and acted on it, with room to adjust and change? Check in before your next step. Is your intuition on board? Go for it.

From Abraham's covenant to the role of Israel in bringing forth the Messiah, the episode challenges modern assumptions and calls believers to align their perspective with Scripture. The core message:God's covenant with Israel is still active—and understanding it correctly shapes how we see history, theology, and the future.

Ask Rachel anythingA listener wrote to say both she and her son felt pretty stunned after he was rejected from the university he'd set his heart on. She asked for the best way to help our teenagers cope with this sort of disappointment. I thought it was a great question and a good opportunity to also look at how we parents best navigate when your teen has worked for years toward a dream - a top university place, exam results, a team, a part - and it doesn't happen. The disappointment can feel earth‑shattering for them and gut‑wrenching for you.In this episode I talk with Dr Dominique Thompson, award‑winning GP and young people's mental health expert, about how to support teenagers through big disappointments such as university rejection, exam failure, and missed opportunities – without rescuing them or minimising their feelings. We explore:What teens are actually grieving when things go wrong – including the loss of an imagined futureHow to validate their emotions while gently stopping catastrophic thinkingThe difference between building resilience and teaching kids to suppress their feelingsWhy today's culture of perfectionism and “being the best” is driving anxiety, burnout and fear of failureHow to help teens separate self‑worth from grades, offers and achievementsPractical ways to prepare teens for university life, academic stress and independenceWhen dropping out isn't the only option – how to press pause, get help and return strongerWhat to do if your teen feels “left behind” while friends move on to university or big opportunitiesHow parents can be a “safe harbour”: supportive, boundaried, and not adding their own disappointment to their teen's loadIf you're a parent wondering how to respond when your child says, “I've failed you,” or “There's no point trying,” this conversation will give you concrete language, mindset shifts and step‑by‑step strategies to help them cope, reframe, and find a new path forward.Dr Dominique Thompson: is a multi-award winning former GP, young people's mental health expert, TEDx speaker, author and educator, with over two decades of NHS clinical experience. She is author of The Student Wellbeing Series for young people, and co-author of How to Grow a Grown Up (PenguinRandomHouse) for parents.dominique.thompson@me.comwww.buzzconsulting.co.uk https://www.instagram.com/drdomthompson/https://www.facebook.com/drdomthompson/https://www.linkedin.com/in/dominique-thompson/Support the showPlease hit the follow button if you like the podcast, and share it with anyone who might benefit. Episode Description Ever feel like you've "fallen off" and have to start everything over? In this episode, Shaye and Jayla talk about a mindset shift that can change the way you approach goals, habits, and personal growth: you don't need to start over — you just need to start again. So many people abandon progress because of an all-or-nothing mindset. One missed workout, one off week, one imperfect moment suddenly feels like failure. But growth doesn't disappear because life got messy. In this conversation, we explore five powerful mindset shifts that help you reset, refocus, and move forward with more self-trust and less pressure. It analyzes the significance of the Polish Solidarity Campaign, Solidarity Working Group and the strategic advocacy by Polish émigrés in briefing British parliamentarians, the imposition of economic and diplomatic sanctions on Poland's communist regime following the introduction of martial law in December 1981, the public demonstrations that galvanized support for the Polish cause and the multifaceted approach of British trade unions towards Polish anti-communist movements. The lecture elucidates how these concerted efforts bolstered Poland's struggle for liberty and shaped the broader narrative of international solidarity against the communist oppression. Of all the industries AI will transform, Kira Radinsky believes chemistry and biology will change the most. Kira is the co-founder and CTO of Diagnostic Robotics, which uses AI to automate the administrative work that's crushing healthcare teams — so clinicians can actually focus on patients. She's also the co-founder of Mana.bio, where they're accelerating drug discovery by orders of magnitude. She'll tell you she's terrible in the lab. Not because she isn't brilliant, but because she can't pipette without killing the cells. So she's thrilled that thanks to her skills in data and AI she was able to realize her childhood dream of being a scientist: “I'm not trying to automate everything… Like when, when you say automate drug discovery, I'm not gonna discover everything. I just want to accelerate it, which comes back to my childhood dream: I just didn't want to do it myself. I just want AI to replace me as a scientist. That's it.”But this episode is about more than healthcare. It's about how to build systems that get smarter over time — feedback loops, causal inference, incentivizing algorithms to take risks, and knowing when to optimize for ROI instead of accuracy. Lessons that apply whether you're building in biotech or not.We cover:How growing up Jewish in Soviet Ukraine — and fleeing to Israel just before the Gulf War — shaped Kira's obsession with predicting the futureHow she built a system that successfully predicted real-world events, including Cuba's first cholera outbreak in Cuba in 130 yearsHow Mana.bio is using AI to build "rocketships" that deliver drugs to the right cells — and how they've done in three months what used to take 20 yearsWhy predictions are only valuable if there's something you can do about them — and why that makes healthcare an ideal field for AI How to incentivize algorithms to make bolder predictions (it's easy to predict there won't be an earthquake today; it's much harder to say there will be)Why causal inference is the most underrated tool in machine learning right nowHow healthcare AI can perpetuate racial bias — and what builders need to do differentlyNote: this interview originally aired in October 2024. Chapters:(01:44) - Why predictions are so important to Kira: lessons from fleeing Soviet-era Kyiv (05:10) - Building a prediction engine from 150 years of news (08:35) - How Kira predicted the Cuba cholera outbreak (09:50) - Returning to biology by way of data (12:50) - Predicting healthcare outcomes by finding your patient's twin (17:53) - The racial bias hiding in healthcare AI (19:15) - Building Mana.bio and accelerating drug discovery (24:33) - "In three months, what did what used to take 20 years" (31:44) - Builder tips: ROI, causal inference, and teaching algorithms to explore (35:07) - Planning: Where generative AI needs improve Links & Resources:Kira Radinsky on LinkedInDiagnostic RoboticsMana.bioSupport Future Around & Find OutGet the free newsletterAnd consider becoming a paid subscriber and help future proof this thing!Sponsor the show? What if the reason you struggle to hear God isn't that He's silent… but that other voices are louder? In Week 3 of Hearing God, we lean into a powerful truth: God speaks through the Holy Spirit. And not in a weird, mystical, unpredictable way—but as an Advocate. A Defender. A Guide.Jesus called the Holy Spirit our parakletos—our defense attorney. When lies creep in, when shame gets loud, when insecurity starts preaching at you, the Spirit steps in and reminds you of what is actually true.In this message, we unpack:What Jesus really meant in John 14 and 16Why the Holy Spirit will never contradict ScriptureThe four competing voices that try to drown out GodWhy small “yes” moments shape your futureHow the Spirit guides you into truth, not confusionThrough real-life stories—from a terrifying emergency C-section to descending 250 feet into Mammoth Cave—we talk about control, trust, and what it looks like to actually follow the Spirit's lead.

In this next instalment of the Evolve series on the evolution of culture and society, Beth is joined by historian, journalist, author, speaker, editor, and co-founder of the Rising Tide Foundation, Matt Ehret, for a wide-angle conversation on geopolitics. This episode asks deeper questions than the usual headlines allow.Rather than focusing solely on villains, conspiracies, or surface-level power struggles, this conversation explores how power itself has evolved over time — and how culture, creativity, and human intention have shaped (and reshaped) the geopolitical landscape.Together, we explore:How power structures have historically formed, fractured, and transformedWhat arose organically from culture versus what was engineered by shifting centers of powerHow empires, ideologies, and institutions evolve in response to human consciousnessWhy understanding history matters if we want a different futureHow to stay oriented toward optimism and agency without denying real harm or corruptionMatt brings a rare blend of historical depth and future-oriented vision, offering a perspective that doesn't collapse into despair — but instead points toward human creativity as an active force in history. This episode of Beth of Fresh Air is an invitation to look at geopolitics not as a fixed chessboard controlled by unseen hands, but as a living process — one that is still unfolding, and still open to influence.Learn More About Matt Ehret
Letting Go Isn’t Losing—It’s Trusting God with Your Children’s Future How do you faithfully release your children into the world while still nurturing connection and influence? In this profoundly honest episode, host Catherine is joined by Jaime Hampton of the Praying Christian Women Podcast to tackle one of the most challenging—and transformative—realities of parenting: letting go. For Christian parents, “letting go” isn’t about giving up; it’s about surrendering control, deepening trust, and transferring ownership of our children’s faith from our hands into God’s. Drawing from personal experience and biblical wisdom, Catherine and Jaime explore four distinct phases of parenting, revealing how to step back while keeping communication and relationship strong. What You’ll Discover in This Episode: The Four Phases of Parenting Caregiver: From diapers to first steps, parents meet every need. Cop: Setting boundaries and keeping children safe before they fully understand. Coach: Explaining the “why” behind rules as children mature. Counselor: Giving advice only when asked, respecting your adult child’s autonomy while remaining a trusted source of wisdom. Jesus as the Model for Letting Go: In a powerful discussion on John 17, Jaime and Catherine reflect on how Jesus prepared His disciples, equipped them, and ultimately sent them out, because “greater works than these you will do.” Christ’s example gives parents a biblical blueprint for releasing children in faith, not fear. Prayer—The Invisible Influence: Letting go doesn’t mean the end of parental influence. As Catherine says, “Our greatest influence over the lives of our kids happens on our knees.” Whether praying through a prodigal season or releasing a child to public school, parents have spiritual authority to intercede for their children, guided by God’s wisdom and timing. MEET THE GUEST: Jaime Hampton is a wife and mother of three who recently relocated from Alaska to Utah with her family, embracing the challenges of a new climate and culture. With her eldest in college and two younger kids in school, Jaime co-hosts the Praying Christian Women podcast with her longtime friend and prayer partner, Alana Terry. Their show began as an outgrowth of their honest coffee-time conversations about faith and prayer, offering encouragement for women to grow spiritually. Most people think growth comes from setting more goals. This episode is a pause. Before you rush into the next year…Before you label this season a failure…Before you disqualify yourself because things didn't go as planned…I need you to hear this clearly:You're not done.In this deeply personal episode of Mind Bully, I reflect on the past year — a year marked by grief, loss, unanswered prayers, unmet goals, and quiet growth no one else could see. I talk openly about losing my sister, losing my grandmother, setting goals I didn't “achieve,” and wrestling with the voice that tries to tell you it's over. But I also expose the lie hiding underneath that voice.Because what looks like delay…What feels like failure…What sounds like defeat…Might actually be foundation. Why labeling this year as a “failure” can cripple your futureHow grief and growth can exist at the same timeThe difference between outcome goals and identity formationWhy spiritual warfare often targets your mind before your momentumWhat to do when everything in you wants to retreatHow God may have used you this year in ways you didn't noticeWhy your “unfinished” goals don't mean you're unfinishedI also share a real, unexpected moment of divine timing — a reminder that your obedience, consistency, and quiet faith are impacting people you may never see.If you're ending this year tired…Disappointed…Confused…Or questioning yourself…This episode is for you.Don't rush past what this season was building in you. You're not done — because God's not done.

This conversation is for the woman who:Has built a full life on paperHas done the inner workHas told herself she's “being intentional”And feels a growing awareness that something important is being postponedAmanda explains why clarity doesn't come from waiting, why healing doesn't happen in stillness, and how high-value women create momentum without chaos, pressure, or impulsive decisions. You'll learn:Why waiting feels wise—but quietly erodes your futureHow forward motion rebuilds confidence and self-trustWhat “1% more brave” actually looks like in dating, career, body, and wealthHow to move your life forward without blowing it upThis episode blends strategy, humor, and honest coaching to help you stop circling decisions and start choosing yourself—calmly, clearly, and with intention.
If you're using what you see in your current reality as proof of what's possible for you, this episode is for you.Your reality is not a prediction — it's feedback. And when you keep reacting to what's already manifested, you stay energetically anchored to the same patterns, emotions, and outcomes. In this episode, we talk about:Why your current circumstances are not evidence of your futureHow subconscious patterning keeps you recreating what you say you want to changeThe energetic loop that forms when you let “what is” dictate your expectationsHow to shift your internal state before the external world reflects itWhat it actually means to move from reaction into creationThis isn't about bypassing reality or pretending things aren't happening. It's about learning how to stop rehearsing the same energy — and start responding from the version of you that already knows what's next.If this message found you, trust it.Your next level requires a different internal reference point.

In this message, Pastor Josh Brown teaches the power of remembering what God has done. Before Israel ever fought a single battle in the Promised Land, God commanded them to build a memorial. Not a weapon. Not a wall. A reminder. From Deuteronomy 6 to Joshua 3–4, we see that God takes remembrance seriously because gratitude grows wherever remembrance is planted.Israel was always tempted to forget God's faithfulness—and so are we. But when we stack stones (moments, memories, and testimonies), we anchor our gratitude and strengthen our faith for what's ahead.Topics in today's message include:Why God told Israel, “Be careful not to forget.”Crossing the Jordan at flood stageThe meaning of the twelve memorial stonesGod's Presence, Precepts, Provision, Power, and PositioningHow to “stack stones” in your own lifeWhy regret cannot define your futureHow nostalgia can become an idolDeveloping your personal story with GodThe testimony that shapes generationsKey Line:“Gratitude grows wherever remembrance is planted.”Let this message call you back to remembering the faithfulness of God—and let it move you into the future with confidence and gratitude.#OverflowChurch #PastorJoshBrown #PracticeOfGratitude #StackingStones #Joshua4 #Deuteronomy6 #Remember #Testimony #ChristianSermon #GratitudeSupport the show

Send us a textIn this Thanksgiving-week episode, Israel Campbell and Rachel Campbell slow the pace, unclutter the noise, and talk about one of the most underrated spiritual disciplines we have: keeping the receipts of God's faithfulness.Remember when Thanksgiving meant construction-paper turkey hands and being forced to say what you're thankful for while secretly wishing you could get back to the rolls? Well, this episode revisits that childhood moment—but with a grown-up perspective. Because gratitude isn't just cute or seasonal… it's evidence collection. When life gets chaotic (and let's be honest—this year has been a wild casserole of emotions), we tend to forget what God has already done. We lose track of the miracles. We overlook the provisions. We ignore the answered prayers. We let the receipts fade like they were printed on that cheap gas-station paper. But spiritually healthy people keep records. They rehearse the goodness of God.They remember the breakthroughs. They stack up the receipts like trophies of grace. In this episode, Israel and Rachel talk about:Why gratitude is a spiritual posture, not a holiday moodHow keeping receipts builds faith for the futureHow remembering God's goodness resets the atmosphere in your homeHow gratitude keeps you from becoming a grumpy follower of Jesus (we've all met one… bless their hearts)How couples, families, and leaders can actually practice gratitude dailyA few hilarious personal Thanksgiving stories—including one Israel would prefer we never bring up againIf you're feeling overwhelmed, tired, or low on faith, this episode will help you slow down, breathe deep, and remember: God has been faithful… and we have the receipts to prove it.Support the show
