Daily Soap Opera Spoilers by Soap Dirt (GH, Y&R, B&B, and DOOL)
Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt General Hospital spoilers earlier reported that Kelly Monaco, who portrays Sam McCall, was fired after two decades on the show. This GH spoiler was confirmed and has stirred up outrage among fans who have launched a petition on change.org in an attempt to reverse the decision. Kelly Monaco responded to the controversy by hinting on Instagram that she might reveal behind-the-scenes information about the show. Billy Miller's mother also chimed in, suggesting that Monaco's firing was a result of her standing up for her former co-star Billy Miller, who was sidelined and ultimately left the show in 2019. Current and former members of the General Hospital cast, including Michael Easton, Kimberly McCullough, and Rebecca Budig, have expressed their support for Monaco. However, comments by Maurice Bernard and Laura Wright, who play Sonny Corinthos and Carly Corinthos respectively, were met with some backlash from fans. The storyline for Sam McCall's exit from the show is yet to be revealed, but it's speculated that her character might be killed off to serve as a liver donor for Lulu. Dishing With Digest - Soap Opera Digest News and Exclusive Interviews
Kimberly McCullough looks back on her run as GH’s Robin, her return for the special Sean episode, her success as a director and more with Digest’s Stephanie Sloane and Mara Levinsky. We also talk about the two-year pickup for DAYS and preview the upcoming GH tribute to John Reilly.
Episode 10 fades in with former actress turned director Kimberly McCullough. After being on General Hospital since the tender age of 7, McCullough found herself directing her first film at just 16 years old. Although she claimed many accolades as an actress, this film lit a fire that would lead her into a career as a highly versatile and accomplished director in her own right. She attributes this sensibility to being surrounded by intense and powerful female roles models. McCullough has had the moxie to learn how to direct many different genres of television and was able to discover what she loved along the way. She touches on the importance of women in positions of power being the rule and not the exception, and the next steps that need to be taken in order to continue on this trend. Aside from fighting for and empowering women from the director's chair, McCullough has a two year old with whom she is also exploring uncharted territory in regards to basic women's rights in the workplace. She makes it abundantly clear that we are stronger together, there's room enough for everyone at the table, and that it's our job as adults to listen to the younger generation. https://www.equalrightsamendment.org/https://www.dga.org/https://freethework.com/

GENERAL HOSPITAL's Patrick and Robin -- aka Scrubs -- are amongst that soap's most popular couples of the past few decades. And, from time to time, they've also been amongst the most controversial thanks to storylines such as the Lisa Niles incident and, more recently, Robin's decision to leave the family she'd only just returned to in order to help longtime friend (and one-time beau) Jason. Now, Robin is set to return to Port Charles... and as one might expect, she's bringing a bit of controversy with her! Tonight, join host Richard M. Simms -- executive editor of Soaps In Depth magazine -- as he looks at the two possible outcomes of her return. Do Robin and Patrick reunite, despite the fact that they likely would not be together on-screen due to Kimberly McCullough's decision to pursue outside projects? Or does the show use this visit to end Patrick and Robin's marriage, thus freeing him up for future storyline? And is there actually a way that the soap -- and Scrubs fans -- can have their cake and eat it, too? Plus, we'll talk about THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS' search for a new Adam (and offer up a few suggestions of our own), look at how DAYS OF OUR LIVES managed to tear Sami and EJ apart without completely ticking off the EJami fan base, and try to figure out what the heck is going on with THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's Maya, who suddenly seems to be flirting with every man who crosses her path... including Eric! All this and more as we take your calls to discuss all things soapy, beginning at 7 p.m. EST.

Chef Chris Barcia and wife Beth gave Ty and I an opportunity to interview General Hospital legend, Kim McCullough. Beth and Chris own Palazzo 53 in the rejuvenated City of Pittston, PA. Palazzo 53 has become the anchor of a renaissance growth on Main Street, in Pittston PA. Several months back I had the privilege of interviewing Councilman Michael Lombardo about the rebirth of Main St. USA and he mentioned Palazzo as one of the keys to Pittston, becoming a model for other small cities in North East PA (NEPA). You may ask, what does the soap star have to do with Chef Barcia and Palazzo53? Well, Chris and Beth secured Kim's appearance on B&E. McCullough has many local ties to NEPA and will be conducting a Q&A, with local soap fans and industry professionals, at Palazzo 53 today (Saturday, May 17th). The whimsical, haunting lyrics of late singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg have been "part of the plan" for legions of "DanFans" since the 1970's. Now, two amazingly-talented people are working to bring Part of the Plan: A New American Musical to the Broadway stage. On today's Daytime Confidential podcast, Luke and Jamey welcome Kate Atkinson and Karen Harris to talk about their new passion project. Atkinson, a prolific indie filmmaker, shares what inspired her to embark on bringing a jukebox musical, set to Fogelberg's music, to the stage. She also reveals what lead her to partner with veteran daytime and primetime drama scribe Karen Harris (The Incredible Hulk, Night Rider, General Hospital, All My Children, Port Charles) on the project. Speaking of daytime, Harris reveals she's running for the board of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) again and dishes her thoughts on the genre's resurgence. She also talks about her new gig as an adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University. A major supporter of the "Scrubs" pairing when she wrote for GH, Harris also shares her thoughts on Kimberly McCullough's upcoming return as Dr. Robin Scorpio and weighs in on news of Brandon Barash and Kirsten Storms' marriage and baby news. All this and much more in this fun, inspiring podcast.

On today’s show Luke and Regan visit with Rogers about his amazing year and what it was like to portray Robert Scorpio, whose battle with cancer forced him and the fans to accept the reality that he was no longer the indestructible super-agent we’d grown accustomed to seeing on our screens. Rogers shares how seeing his former penthouse recreated on Night Shift was spooky and how it brought back so many memories for him and Finola Hughes. We ask Rogers about what it was like to work with Sri Rao and his popular writing team at Night Shift and get his thoughts on what role Rao may yet play in daytime. The wedding of Patrick and Robin would not have been complete without Robert Scorpio to walk his daughter down the aisle so we talk to Rogers about how important it was for him to be a part of the momentous occasion, what his favorite moments from the wedding were and how sentimental the wedding was for Finola, Kimberly McCullough and himself. Roger’s online series Tristan Rogers Unscripted gave fans behind-the-scenes glimpse into Night Shift that fans rarely see in daytime and he shares what it was like to get everyone to appear on the series. The economic crisis facing the country is having an impact on daytime and Rogers discusses can and needs to be done to help save the genre. Rogers gives an update on the auctions at TristanRogers.com in support of the charity Project Cuddle and tells us how much money his fans raised for the worthy cause.
