(Anett és Zeci) Egy igen furcsa eladó londoni épülettől indultunk, de aztán kalandunk elvitt minket Franciaországba, majd Brugge-be és végül Luccába.

Sorry for the long HUGE hiatus. But I've been away really meditating and contemplating on life. Throughout this break, I've learned SO MUCH. It's through God that my family was able to challenge me and grow into the person I am today. I hope this episode I say will change your life as much as it did me. What I say will literally CHANGE YOUR WORLD, cause it did to me. However, a lot of the stuff I'm going to say will 100% debunk the media that you typically absorb via bringing a whole new viewpoint. 2020 May 11 Lucc here. Everything has now changed and God showed me the way, I am now listening to my spirit. I'm working on a BOOK FINALLY. Deep down I always wanted to be an author it was just that fear of criticism, failure, and letting people down. My genre is psychological fiction and this book is my autobiographical story in a fictional, magical realism, and modern day lense. I'm gong to school to study medicine so I have a job to fall back on to keep the lights on until my gift from God manifests into fruition. Most people don't want to say the truth but YOU NEED TO HAVE A JOB THAT WILL SUPPORT UNTIL YOU FIGURE OUT YOUR GIFT, NOT PASSION. Regardless of what time period we are in YOU HAVE TO MAKE ENDS MEET AT THE END OF THE DAY. I had to swallow that freakin pill. Two different things. Passion is persistent interest, gift is least effort required to have the greatest performance. Anywho, I knew I was on the right track since God sent me this message in my right ear and all I heard for 30 seconds was angel wings and I was in complete peace. I went into a complete panic, I thought I was going to be taken away into the heavens. I felt that I was somehow on the right direction but I still need that extra push to grab hold of it. It was when I was in writing club at school where we had to write a story from a picture and from that picture a whole book came to life. One night I was outlining my book until a complete LIGHTBULB moment popped and the whole story came to me in a flash. All the plot holes, nuances, plot twists, was given to me and in that moment I broke. I knew that THIS was what I needed to do. Waiting since I was 6 or so that I enacted to do so. All that waiting is over. The book is 12 chapters and 45k words and it's just the beginning. I can't wait for my baby to grow up on these times and the bless world and to remember that this is God's plan in action! Everything is finally starting to fall into place and make sense, a little lol. All my life happened for a reason and my identity is starting to come to the surface. I no longer wanted to have people control my paycheck like what content does. I wanted control for my life to some degree. The Youtube was a way to prove people wrong and get validation and it became insanely toxic. I wanted to help bloggers since I felt that audience was the only people I could help since there was no way I could help or consider being an author. But the youtube was a part of my timeline and I will NEVER take that away. So the plan now is to become a psychiatrist for a backup plan and then use that to make platform and sell my psychological fiction novels to them. A psychiatrist who's novelist? Think about that!? So try to have a tangible income career that connects to many walks of life in the world and connects to the career you really wanna do and you WILL be fine. And yes I'm working on my first novel. So be please be patient with me as I grow my baby. Lord of the rings took 15 years to write, don't rush. If you don't understand my circumstances, you can unsubscribe now and watch someone else. This one is a guest episode where we literally talk about music in a broken structure
Creep Records began as a record label started by Arik Victor in 1993 and has since expanded to a retail space, recording studio, and screenprinting. Their roots are in punk and hardcore, putting out releases in our early years from the likes of The Bouncing Souls, Plow United, Violent Society, All Else Failed and more. The tales of the Creep House in West Chester have become that of legend, building a bond and community that lives and grows to this day. However, they have always been a label that puts out the music they truly love, regardless of genre. I heard of Creep Records when I was in my late teens because my friends found out about this band called Plow United. Plow would be on heavy rotation in my buddy Lucc’s silver Ford Probe when we would drive from Jefferson, NJ to either the Rockaway mall, Jefferson Diner, Greenpond, Flipside Records or the many shows we attended. Alan Rappaport mentioned Creep Records in episode 24 and it made me think, well shit, I need to interview Arik. So I did and this is what we talk about: 80s hip hop NWA and 2 live crew The scariness of metal shows How he started recording bands Using a house party to get bands to record with him Creating Creep Records because of Plow United Getting taken advantage of by distributors Passing on the first Bigwig release His process for signing a band Why bands can’t reunite after 20 years and make it a full-time gig Tower Records having a positive effect on the music industry Hopes of punk rock saving the country Opening his record store And a ton more Check out my comic and my book. Welcome everyone to This Was The Scene, the podcast that takes a look back at the late 90s / early 2000 Nj Jersey Punk scene, I am your host, Mike Doyle. If you grew up in Northern Jersey and needed a place to find independent music you would go to Scotti’s record shop in Morristown, sound exchange on rte 23, hot topic in the Rockaway mall (yes that’s where you could actually find bands) OR you could take a ride to Pompton Lakes and visit Flipside Records where you would find Alan Rappaport manning the register. He opened people’s eyes to bands like Sicko, Discount, Plow United, Mineral and Jimmy Eat World before they were making videos about underwear pool parties. My friends and I would pile into my buddy Lucc’s car, drive to Flipside and use whatever money we could find to stock up on new music. I wanted to get his perspective on the scene back then, he said “totally down man” and this is what we talked about: Who actually kicked him out of Lanemeyer Disney World’s effect on his punk rockness How he started working at Flipside Introducing Donuts and Glory and Steve from Right Turn Eddie His Lua pool party shows with Discount, My Pal Trigger and LTJ His relationship with Jimmy Eat World The Backstage rehearsal studio And a ton more This week’s episode sponsored by Southern Tier Distilling Company. In Episode 77 we bring you our Top 25 Albums of 2018 at the mid-year. We are joined by Lucc who drove down from Connecticut with an insane amount beer to share. Needless to say the longer the episode runs, the more ridiculous we become. So get comfortable, dig in, and see if you can run the gauntlet with us. Not recommended for the faint of heart, people with heart conditions or those that are easily offended.
