MOVIE DISCUSSION:  Daniel joins Melvin in discussing the second Rotten-rated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! Critics have been critical, and fans have been mildly amused. But, what about us? Tune in to find out!  Topics: (PATREON EXCLUSIVE) 35-minutes discussing The Flash trailer, Ezra Miller's influential escapades, James Gunn's future changes for DC, and so much more! (PATREON EXCLUSIVE) Melvin wastes little time criticizing the outsized scope of the film, a borderline-Shakespearian world-ending character exploration flick written and directed by individuals whose previous work include bit-comedy, a functionally and fundamentally different style of storytelling. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quuntamania is 125-minutes and barely anything happens. After two comedy-heist features, it feels weird for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to take itself so seriously... and also not really be a heist movie. Melvin and Daniel agree that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania isn't particularly good, but they don't agree with the extreme distaste toward the film.  Daniel shares an epiphany he had during his theater experience, one surrounded by teens and nerdbros. Melvin complains about what he's calling the "Multiverse Narrative Confusion" that Marvel's Cinematic Universe is currently experiencing. They include one of the best horror films Steve saw at a film festival last year (Huesera: The Bone Woman) and a darkly comic thriller about proving one's manliness that is one of the best films of the early year (The Integrity of Joseph Chambers). Steve looks at the second film from a quickly rising filmmaker (Of An Age) and the pair look at a detective yarn from an older master (Marlowe). Luke Cage Season 2 Episode 13 Review Podcast "They Reminisce Over You" Spoiler filled Synopsis Directed by Álex García López Written by Cheo Hodari Coker With Mariah Stokes (Alfre Woodard) on trial and remanded at Rikers Island, crime and violence returns to the streets of Harlem as the other gang leaders go to war. In prison, Mariah adapts well to her new circumstances gaining power over the other prison factions; and goes to extreme measures to cover her tracks as she orders the murder of all her former employees, including her trusted PA Alex Wesley (John Clarence Stewart). Meanwhile, as the street war rages Luke Cage (Mike Colter) takes a new approach to protecting Harlem after a visit to Pop’s by Shades (Theo Rossi) who suggests that Luke should prevent a new crime boss from taking over in Harlem. Whilst Luke visits Rosalie Carbone (Annabella Sciorra) to secure peace in Harlem,  another crime boss, Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir) recovering from his nightshade use with the help of Tilda (Gabrielle Dennis) chooses to return to Jamaica. Before he leaves he tells Tilda that the final Stokes must burn. As Mariah and Ben Donovan (Danny Johnson) make plans for her defence in court she is visited at Ryker’s by Shades, Tilda and Luke Cage. As Shades regrets what could have been, one visitor, Tilda Johnson, says goodbye to her mother and the Stokes name with a kiss laced with slow-acting poison. As it takes hold Mariah dies in the arms of her boy scout, Luke Cage, and is then cremated at the instruction of her daughter. In her Will, Mariah leaves Harlem’s Paradise to Luke Cage. As he takes on the mantle of the new “sheriff” of Harlem from the roost of the club, Misty Knight (Simone Missick) looks on worried that Luke will follow in the gangland footsteps of Mariah Stokes. In the our Agent Carter S01E01 Now Is Not The End Podcast we witness the implications for Peggy Carter of returning from war and attempting to integrate into a 1940's espionage agency the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) unwilling to treat her with the respect she gained in war-time. Agent Carter premiered in the Ireland and the UK on Fox TV on Sunday the 12th of July. John and Derek discuss the five points that stood out to them about their first foray into this entirely new world for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They discover that the M.C.U. mantra of "It's all connected" also includes their TV shows regardless of the time period.
