Magneton is here and somehow far more terrible than we could have imagined! Follow along with the entries below:Red & Blue: Formed by several MAGNEMITEs linked together. They frequently appear when sunspots flare up.Yellow: Generates strange radio signals. It raises the temperature by 3.6F degrees within 3,300 feet.Gold: Three MAGNEMITE are linked by a strong magnetic force. Earaches will occur if you get too close.Silver: The MAGNEMITE are united by a magnetism so powerful, it dries all moisture in its vicinities.Crystal: When many MAGNETON gather together, the resulting magnetic storm disrupts radio waves.Ruby: MAGNETON emits a powerful magnetic force that is fatal to mechanical devices. As a result, large cities sound sirens to warn citizens of large-scale outbreaks of this POKéMON.Sapphire: MAGNETON emits a powerful magnetic force that is fatal to electronics and precision instruments. Because of this, it is said that some towns warn people to keep this POKéMON inside a POKé BALL.FireRed: A linked cluster formed of several MAGNEMITE. It discharges powerful magnetic waves at high voltage.Diamond & Pearl: It is actually three MAGNEMITE linked by magnetism. A group can set off a magnetic storm.Platinum: Many mysteriously appear when more sunspots dot the sun. They stop TV sets from displaying properly.Black & White 2: The stronger electromagnetic waves from the three linked Magnemite are enough to dry out surrounding moisture.Sun: When three Magnemite link together, their brains also become one. They do not become three times more intelligent.Moon: It has about three times the electrical power of Magnemite. For some reason, outbreaks of this Pokémon happen when lots of sunspots appear.Ultra Sun: Delicate equipment can malfunction in areas inhabited by Magneton, which send out mysterious electrical signals.Ultra Moon: When rain clouds form, many Magneton gather in high places to wait for lightning to strike.Sword: This Pokémon is three Magnemite that have linked together. Magneton sends out powerful radio waves to study its surroundings.Shield: This Pokémon is constantly putting out a powerful magnetic force. Most computers go haywire when a Magneton approaches.Legends Arceus: Three Magnemite gathered to evolve into this Pokémon. The source of much vexation on my part, as its powerful magnetism destroys my research equipment.Pokemon Sleep: The three Magnemite are usually linked by a strong magnetic force. They have been spotted sleeping stuck together and drifting apart. Perhaps their magnetism is unstable during sleep.BTB: That's three Magnemite! Their mysterious powers combined present an imminent danger to modern society and surrounding life. Maybe an alien?Cover design by Kwesi PhillipsMusic by Junichi Masuda and Go IchinoseLeave us a tip at https://ko-fi.com/beyondtheball
Magnemite, the littlest orb is here! I hope you're ready for some extremely confident explanations of electromagnetism! Follow along with the entries below:Red & Blue: Uses anti-gravity to stay suspended. Appears without warning and uses THUNDER WAVE and similar moves.Yellow: It is born with the ability to defy gravity. It floats in air on powerful electromagnetic waves.Gold: It is attracted by electromagnetic waves. It may approach trainers if they are using their POKéGEAR.Silver: The units at the sides of its body generate antigravity energy to keep it aloft in the air.Crystal: The electricity emitted by the units on each side of its body cause it to become a strong magnet.Ruby: MAGNEMITE attaches itself to power lines to feed on electricity. If your house has a power outage, check your circuit breakers. You may find a large number of this POKéMON clinging to the breaker box.Sapphire: MAGNEMITE floats in the air by emitting electromagnetic waves from the units at its sides. These waves block gravity. This POKéMON becomes incapable of flight if its internal electrical supply is depleted.FireRed: It moves while constantly hovering. It discharges THUNDER WAVE and so on from the units at its sides.Diamond & Pearl: The units at its sides generate electromagnetic waves that keep it airborne. It feeds on electricity.Platinum: The faster the units at its sides rotate, the greater the magnetic force they generate.Black & White 2: The electromagnetic waves emitted by the units at the sides of its head expel antigravity, which allows it to float.Sun: They gather in places where electricity is available. They can be found clinging to the steel towers used to support power lines.Moon: It sends out electromagnetic waves, which let it float through the air. Touching it while it's eating electricity will give you a full-body shock.Ultra Sun: It's frequently the cause of power outages, which is why some power plants send out electrical signals that it can't stand.Ultra Moon: Perhaps because electrical lines are often buried these days, the number of Magnemite attacks on power plants has increased.Sword: At times, Magnemite runs out of electricity and ends up on the ground. If you give batteries to a grounded Magnemite, it'll start moving again.Shield: It subsists on electricity. As Magnemite flies, it emits electromagnetic waves from the units on each side of its body.Legends Arceus: A bizarre Pokémon with but a single eye embedded in an iron sphere. I suspect this creature levitates due to the magnetism it emits from its arms, which resemble horseshoe-shaped magnets.Pokemon Sleep: The units at its side generate electromagnetic waves that keep it airborne. On rare occasions, perhaps when it sleepily muddles the direction of its waves, it does loops through the air while asleep. BTB: It's a little magnet guy that floats and eats electricity. That might be a problem and we have yet to find a strong solution.Cover design by Kwesi PhillipsMusic by Junichi Masuda and Go IchinoseLeave us a tip at https://ko-fi.com/beyondtheball

We're finally done with the Pikachu family as we cover Alolan Raichu and wow does anyone else suddenly crave pancakes? Vote for who we should cover for episode 250 here! Follow along with the entries below: Sun: It only evolves to this form in the Alola region. According to researchers, its diet is one of the causes of this change. Moon: It uses psychokinesis to control electricity. It hops aboard its own tail, using psychic power to lift the tail and move about while riding it. Ultra Sun: It focuses psychic energy into its tail and rides it like it's surfing. Another name for this Pokémon is “hodad.” Ultra Moon: When you rub its cheeks, a sweet fragrance comes wafting out. However, you'll also get a light shock! Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee: It loves pancakes prepared with a secret Alolan recipe. Some wonder whether that recipe holds the key to this Pokémon's evolution. Sword: It's believed that the weather, climate, and food of the Alola region all play a part in causing Pikachu to evolve into this form of Raichu. Shield: This Pokémon rides on its tail while it uses its psychic powers to levitate. It attacks with star-shaped thunderbolts. Photodex: This Pokémon is a talented surfer, using its psychic power to ride the waves. It's always practicing on the beach, waiting for that perfect wave to roll in. BTB: Raichu's pancake form. An artistic electric user that definitely seems more chill than normal Raichu. Surfing ability may vary. Move over Pikachu, it's time to get rude and rowdy with your evolved form, Raichu! Join us as we're once again baffled by the phenomenon of electricity and reference even more obscure media! Follow along with the entries below: Red & Blue: Its long tail serves as a ground to protect itself from its own high voltage power. Yellow: When electricity builds up inside its body, it becomes feisty. It also glows in the dark. Gold: When its electricity builds, its muscles are stimulated, and it becomes more aggressive than usual. Silver: If the electric pouches in its cheeks become fully charged, both ears will stand straight up. Crystal: If its electric pouches run empty, it raises its tail to gather electricity from the atmosphere. Ruby: If the electrical sacks become excessively charged, RAICHU plants its tail in the ground and discharges. Scorched patches of ground will be found near this POKéMON's nest. Sapphire: This POKéMON exudes a weak electrical charge from all over its body that makes it take on a slight glow in darkness. RAICHU searches for electricity by planting its tail in the ground. FireRed: Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint. Emerald: If it stores too much electricity, its behavior turns aggressive. To avoid this, it occasionally discharges excess energy and calms itself down. Diamond: It turns aggressive if it has too much electricity in its body. It discharges power through its tail. Pearl: It can loose 100,000-volt bursts of electricity, instantly downing foes several times its size. Platinum: Its tail discharges electricity into the ground, protecting it from getting shocked. Sun: It unleashes electric shocks that can reach 100,000 volts. When agitated, it can knock out even an Indian elephant. Moon: It becomes aggressive when it has electricity stored up. At such times, even its Trainer has to take care to avoid being attacked. Ultra Sun: As electricity builds up inside its body, it becomes more aggressive. One theory is that the electricity buildup is actually causing stress. Ultra Moon: Because so many Trainers like the way Pikachu looks, you don't see this Pokémon very often. Legends Arceus: It can discharge bursts of electricity exceeding 100,000 volts— a single strike with that amount of power would incapacitate one of the Copperajah of my homeland. BTB: Raichu is constantly moderating a delicate emotional state and can be quite dangerous if ungrounded and so inclined. It's finally time to talk about THE Pokemon, Pikachu! Or as we like to call it, the Shawshank Redemption of Pokemon! Follow along with the entries below: Red & Blue: When several of these POKéMON gather, their electricity could build and cause lightning storms. Yellow: It keeps its tail raised to monitor its surroundings. If you yank its tail, it will try to bite you. Gold: This intelligent POKéMON roasts hard BERRIES with electricity to make them tender enough to eat. Silver: It raises its tail to check its surroundings. The tail is sometimes struck by lightning in this pose. Crystal: When it is angered, it immediately discharges the energy stored in the pouches in its cheeks. Ruby: Whenever PIKACHU comes across something new, it blasts it with a jolt of electricity. If you come across a blackened berry, it's evidence that this POKéMON mistook the intensity of its charge. Sapphire: This POKéMON has electricity-storing pouches on its cheeks. These appear to become electrically charged during the night while PIKACHU sleeps. It occasionally discharges electricity when it is dozy after waking up. FireRed: It has small electric sacs on both its cheeks. If threatened, it looses electric charges from the sacs. Emerald: It stores electricity in the electric sacs on its cheeks. When it releases pent-up energy in a burst, the electric power is equal to a lightning bolt. Diamond: It lives in forests with others. It stores electricity in the pouches on its cheeks. Pearl: If it looses crackling power from the electric pouches on its cheeks, it is being wary. Platinum: It occasionally uses an electric shock to recharge a fellow PIKACHU that is in a weakened state. Sun: A plan was recently announced to gather many Pikachu and make an electric power plant. Moon: It's in its nature to store electricity. It feels stressed now and then if it's unable to fully discharge the electricity. Ultra Sun: Its nature is to store up electricity. Forests where nests of Pikachu live are dangerous, since the trees are so often struck by lightning. Ultra Moon: While sleeping, it generates electricity in the sacs in its cheeks. If it's not getting enough sleep, it will be able to use only weak electricity. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee: This forest-dwelling Pokémon stores electricity in its cheeks, so you'll feel a tingly shock if you touch it. Sword: Pikachu that can generate powerful electricity have cheek sacs that are extra soft and super stretchy. Shield: When Pikachu meet, they'll touch their tails together and exchange electricity through them as a form of greeting. Legends Arceus: Possesses cheek sacs in which it stores electricity. This clever forest-dweller roasts tough berries with an electric shock before consuming them. BTB: The power of the sun in the pouch of their cheeks, Pikachu can summmon dangerous storms despite their very cute appearance. Our exploration of Pokemon at the beach continues as we cover the Zubat of the sea, Tentacool! Get ready for beams! Follow along with the entries below: Red & Blue: Drifts in shallow seas. Anglers who hook them by accident are often punished by its stinging acid. Yellow: It can sometimes be found all dry and shriveled up on a beach. Toss it back into the sea to revive it. Gold: When the tide goes out, dehydrated TENTACOOL remains can be found washed up on the shore. Silver: It drifts aimlessly in waves. Very difficult to see in water, it may not be noticed until it stings. Crystal: As it floats along on the waves, it uses its toxic feelers to stab anything it touches. Ruby: TENTACOOL's body is largely composed of water. If it is removed from the sea, it dries up like parchment. If this POKéMON happens to become dehydrated, put it back into the sea. Sapphire: TENTACOOL absorbs sunlight and refracts it using water inside its body to convert it into beam energy. This POKéMON shoots beams from its crystal-like eyes. FireRed: Its eyes are as transparent as crystals. From them, it shoots mysterious beams of light. Emerald: Its body is almost entirely composed of water. It ensnares its foe with its two long tentacles, then stabs with the poison stingers at their tips. Diamond: Its body is virtually composed of water. It shoots strange beams from its crystal-like eyes. Pearl: It drifts in sea currents. Countless fishermen are hurt by its poison stingers. Platinum: Because its body is almost entirely composed of water, it shrivels up if it is washed ashore. Sun: They can be found lying dehydrated on beaches, but they are often still alive. When soaked in water, they will revive. Moon: It drifts in shallow seas, such as the areas near beaches. If you get bitten or stabbed by its toxic tentacles, rush to the hospital. Ultra Sun: It drifts through the sea searching for prey. Its poisonous tentacles break off sometimes, but after a while, they grow back. Ultra Moon: Its body is 99% water. The remaining 1% contains the organ that makes its poison. Sword: Tentacool is not a particularly strong swimmer. It drifts across the surface of shallow seas as it searches for prey. Shield: This Pokémon is mostly made of water. A Tentacool out in the ocean is very hard to spot, because its body blends in with the sea. Legends Arceus: They fire beams from the glassy, magenta orbs that resemble eyes atop their heads, and they drift in shallow seas. During low tide, they can sometimes be found on beaches, desiccated. BTB: Utilizing powerful beam energy and poisonous stings, this drifter Pokemon is a real menace to anything that crosses its path. Sports a questionable amount of eyes. Shucks, it sure seems like the grudge-holding spirits of the deceased in the Pokemon world will inhabit just about anything! This time they've gotten hold of a heap of sand resulting in this episode's focus, Sandygast! Follow along with the entries below: Sun: Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed. Moon: It takes control of anyone who puts a hand in its mouth. And so it adds to the accumulation of its sand-mound body. Ultra Sun: It likes the shovel on its head, so Sandygast will get serious and fight any children who come to take it back. Ultra Moon: If you build sand mounds when you're playing, destroy them before you go home, or they may get possessed and become Sandygast. Sword: Grudges of the dead have possessed a mound of sand and become a Pokémon. Sandygast is fond of the shovel on its head. Shield: Sandygast mainly inhabits beaches. It takes control of anyone who puts their hand into its mouth, forcing them to make its body bigger. Scarlet: If it loses its shovel, it will stick something else—like a branch—in its head to make do until it finds another shovel. Violet: It flings sand into the eyes of its prey and tries to close in on them while they're blinded, but since Sandygast is so slow, the prey tends to escape. Photodex: They say that a mound of sand became possessed by the grudges of the departed, giving birth to Sandygast. Think twice about going near any cute-looking shovels you see sticking out of the sand. BTB: Experiments are ongoing looking for ways to cultivate strong and vibrant Sandygast. Studies suggest an excess of negative vibes and playfulness could yield high-quality results. Only Trainers who have justice in their hearts can earn this Pokémon's trust. Legends: Arceus: A most gallant-looking creature. It emits energy waves and controls them with precision, using them to sense even faraway beings. I have given the name “aura” to this power. BTB: Lucario can vibe with literally everything, including your unwanted emotional baggage. So maybe give it some space unless you really love justice. Mega Lucario Sun: Black streaks all over its body show where its auras and the energy of Mega Evolution intermingled and raced through it. Moon: It readies itself to face its enemies by focusing its mental energies. Its fighting style can be summed up in a single word: heartless. Ultra Sun: Its aura has expanded due to Mega Evolution. Governed only by its combative instincts, it strikes enemies without mercy. Ultra Moon: Bathed in explosive energy, its combative instincts have awakened. For its enemies, it has no mercy whatsoever. We're starting down the road to 200 with a fan-favorite this episode, Riolu! Lying just beyond that tought-but-cute exterior lies perhaps the mostly finely-tuned vibes radar in the Pokemon world. The Pokedex here also introduces us to an exciting new metric, Large Landmasses Crossed Per Night! Follow along with the entries below: Diamond: The aura that emanates from its body intensifies to alert others if it is afraid or sad. Pearl: Its body is lithe yet powerful. It can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night. Platinum: It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy and rage in the form of waves. HeartGold & SoulSilver: They communicate with one another using their auras. They are able to run all through the night. Black & White 2: It uses the shapes of auras, which change according to emotion, to communicate with others. Sun: It can discern the physical and emotional states of people, Pokémon, and other natural things from the shape of their aura waves. Moon: It's tough enough to run right through the night, and it's also a hard worker, but it's still just a youngster. Ultra Sun: It knows how people and Pokémon feel by looking at their auras. It doesn't approach dangerous opponents. Ultra Moon: It uses waves called auras to communicate with others of its kind. It doesn't make any noise during this time, so its enemies can't detect it. Sword: It's exceedingly energetic, with enough stamina to keep running all through the night. Taking it for walks can be a challenging experience. Shield: It can use waves called auras to gauge how others are feeling. These same waves can also tell this Pokémon about the state of the environment. Legends: Arceus: Though infantile in appearance, it has the mysterious ability to read the minds of humans. The pure of heart are met with Riolu's approval, while those of ill nature earn only its loathing. BTB: This little Chibi Anubis is always on the grind and it KNOWS how you feel. It's time to talk about one of Braden's faves and a real cool customer, Sneasel! Join us as we discuss the Sharp Claw Pokemon, the problematic representation of Dark type Pokemon, Taggerung and more! Follow along with the entries below: Gold: Its paws conceal sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends the claws and startles its enemy. Silver: Vicious in nature, it drives PIDGEY from their nests and feasts on the eggs that are left behind. Crystal: This cunning POKéMON hides under the cover of darkness, waiting to attack its prey. Ruby & Sapphire: SNEASEL scales trees by punching its hooked claws into the bark. This POKéMON seeks out unguarded nests and steals eggs for food while the parents are away. Diamond: It feeds on eggs stolen from nests. Its sharply hooked claws rip vulnerable spots on prey. Pearl: It is extremely vicious and will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving. Platinum: A smart and sneaky Pokémon. A pair may work together to steal eggs by having one lure the parents away. Black & White 2: A smart and sneaky Pokémon, it makes its opponents flinch by suddenly showing the claws hidden in its paws. Sun: It has a cunning yet savage disposition. It waits for parents to leave their nests, and then it sneaks in to steal their eggs. Moon: It uses its claws to poke holes in eggs so it can slurp out the insides. Breeders consider it a scourge and will drive it away or eradicate it. Ultra Sun: They will cooperate to steal eggs from the nests of bird Pokémon, but fights break out to determine which one gets to eat the eggs. Ultra Moon: It blends into the dark of night to ambush its prey. Sneasel will attack Sandshrew, but its hard skin can cause Sneasel's claws to snap off. Legends: Arceus: This Pokémon shares roots with the Sneasel of Hisui, but unlike that species, this one is spiteful in personality. I hypothesize that water and earth can affect Sneasel's mind and body. BTB: It loves to eat eggs and it's trying its best to get them, and it could do without the judgment thank you very much. This episode we're talking about the Key Ring Pokemon Klefki! Is it really just keys or are there more secrets to unlocked within its Pokedex entries? Why does it collect keys? What came first, keys or Klefki? Join us as we explore exciting questions like these and more on Beyond the Ball! Follow along with the entries below: X: These key collectors threaten any attackers by fiercely jingling their keys at them. Y: It never lets go of a key that it likes, so people give it the keys to vaults and safes as a way to prevent crime. Sun: This even-tempered Pokémon has a habit of collecting keys. It will sneak into people's homes to steal their keys. Moon: It inserts its horn into chinks in metal, absorbing metal ions. For some reason, it collects keys. Ultra Sun: Although it's unclear why it collects keys, giving it a key makes Klefki very happy. However, it apparently only likes master keys. Ultra Moon: Long ago it lived in mines, but once the minerals that make up its diet became scarcer, Klefki began appearing in human settlements. Sword: This Pokémon is constantly collecting keys. Entrust a Klefki with important keys, and the Pokémon will protect them no matter what. Shield: Klefki sucks in metal ions with the horn topping its head. It seems this Pokémon loves keys so much that its head needed to look like one, too. BTB: This metal sucking little goblin has formed an almost religious fascination with human-made keys. Give it keys because it will just steal them anyway. Its been 50 years and Ted Conrad has yet to be found. In 1969, Ted Conrad was a young, twenty year old man with a fascination with Steve McQueen and the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, one that McQueen starred in and was released that same year.Nothing was extraordinary about Ted Conrad and we wouldn't even be talking about him if not for the fact that he is one of the unsolved mysteries from the FBI vault. This is Unsolved Mysteries of the World Season 5 Episode 13 Where is Ted Conrad? It was Friday, June 11, 1969. Richard Nixon was the US President and the war Vietnam was spiraling out of control. David Bowie just released Space Oddity to radio stations and The Sprague Electric Company delivered a 1.5 inche diameter silicon disc to NASA, containing 73 "messages of good will from the leaders of the world's nations to be flown and left on the Moon"It was a time of great tension and of great optimism. At the time it was neither for Ted Conrad. Ted graduated from high school a year previous, in August and was well admired by friends, got excellent grades and scored 135 on an IQ test. He landed a job at the Society National Bank's Public Square Headquarters as a bank vault packager and for seven months worked steadily, proficiently and without much notice. Each day he would package money that would be sent to various banks across Cleveland. In the evenings he would watch and re-watch the Steve McQueen movie The Thomas Crown Affair that was playing in the local cinema. McQueen played a bored high-society millionaire who orchestrated a $2.6 million bank robbery for sport -- to pit his wits against investigators'.And according to his friends he started to act the part. He'd show off his fluent French and his billiards prowess, which one friend described as "tournament-quality." He drove a two-seat MG sports car and proclaimed his love for Porsches and Calvert gin.Ted told one bank employee that the bank would be an easy heist and even said, “'I could do this and nobody would know it until it was over.”Ted's chance came that second week of July: His supervisor was hospitalized for surgery, and he was left largely unsupervised. At lunch he returned to work with a plain paper bag containing a fifth of Canadian Club whiskey and a carton of smokes -- into the vault with him. No one thought twice when he signed out for the weekend carrying the same bag -- filled, authorities believe, with $50 and $100 bills totally $215,000 or $1.8 Million in today's money. At 7:26 p.m., outside Teds Clifton Boulevard apartment, he waved goodbye to his landlady and climbed into a cab. He got out 26 minutes later at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. There, he called his girlfriend and told her he was going to Erie, Pa., for a rock concert and would return the following day.On Monday bank employees noticed Ted had not made it into work. They called him at his home to make sure he was OK. They waited several hours and had not heard from Ted who was always at work on time and had not missed a day. When the vault money was counted before deliveries could be made employees alerted their manager that money was missing – a lot of money. The bank did a quick recount and noted the missing bills. They quickly called police and an investigation was mounted. It took a week before the newspaper reported on the crime but people were fascinated by the Apollo Moon Mission and Landing that week and disregarded the news.Ted Conrad, just like most Americans, knew of the scheduled launch and build up to the major event and probably timed his crime to hide within the shadows of the moon. That week, the FBI got involved in the search for Ted Conrad. They tracked Ted to the Cleveland National Airport where they believed he sat on a flight to Washington DC. Later, this was confirmed when Ted's girlfriend reported receiving a letter from him about a week after the robbery that was postmarked from that location. The FBI then intercepted another letter to his girlfriend from Ted that was postmarked Inglewood, California where LAX is located.“I do want to write thought I only ask that you burn the envelopes so that the authorities don't get the postmarks,” he wrote in the letter. The FBI had leads that he was or was in California, Colorado, Virginia, New York, Hawaii and even Australia. Get ready for your moon adventure. Companies are actively working to further technology and vehicles that can take us to the moon. In the show today we will hear about Jeff Bezos’s proposal to NASA and the White House about a craft that can take supplies to the moon in about 10 years. Also, we will talk about what’s new at Facebook and BlackBerry. Show Notes Return to the Moon It looks like we have to wait a little longer to send humans to Mars. But, plans are in motion to create a permanent settlement on the moon instead. Due to NASA's plans to return to the moon and the anticipated support of the Trump administration a few companies are excited to support travel to the moon with new technology and spacecraft. One of the companies that made a proposal is Blue Origin, a space company owned by Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon. In a seven-page white paper to NASA and President Trump's transition team the company highlighted its interest in developing a lunar spacecraft. This service would deliver gear for experiments and cargo by mid-2020 but doesn’t involve flying humans. It’s focus is on just cargo missions to help establish a human colony on the moon. “It is time for America to return to the Moon — this time to stay,” Bezos said Bezos announcement came on the heels of SpaceX’s founder Elon Musk who made an announcement earlier in the week that his company planned to fly two private citizens on a tourist trip around the moon by next year. NASA also announced it is considering adding astronauts to the first flight of its Space Launch System rocket and Orion crew capsule. Robert Bigelow, the founder of Bigelow Aerospace, said his company could create a depot that could orbit the moon by 2020, housing supplies and medical facilities, as well as humans. He is glad that the administration seems to be refocusing on the moon. “Mars is premature at this time. The moon is not,” City Guides Facebook recently began rolling out feature called "City Guides" to its iOS app. City Guides gives users a list of cities visited by their friends and along with recommendations on places to eat, where to visit, and where you can stay on a future trip. So now, your friends can know all about that secret get away trip you took last month when you said you were sick. This feature can be found in the Explore tab of the app. After tapping on a city, the app provides a list of friends who have been to the location along with the places they checked into while they were there. So, if you're looking for restaurant or hotel suggestions, it's easy to bookmark the spot right in the app and then send a message to that friend to see what he or she thinks about it. Other parts of this upgrade include a “Places The Locals Go" section that lists popular spots based on each location's Facebook page rating, an upcoming events list in each city and a list of popular attractions. The next time you’re planning a trip, check out this feature as it should make your trip a whole lot more enjoyable, visiting, eating and doing things that have recommended by people you know. BlackBerry’s new approach Nestor Arellano shared some information about chat with BlackBerry’s chief operating officer Marty Beard about the new direction that the company is headed in. BlackBerry’s grand plan is a comprehensive native approach to provide government and enterprise customers with security products and services. It covers five key areas: • Unified endpoint management (you know mobile device management and BES and the like • Embedded software: Think BlackBerry software inside any IoT device from medical instruments to BlackBerry radar for trucks and QNX software for driverless cars • Network: Think messages being served up securely through the BlackBerry NOC • Communications: That will be facilitating more secure messaging and alerts for enterprise and government users • Applications: All about developing app services, software development kits
