Magnemite, the littlest orb is here! I hope you're ready for some extremely confident explanations of electromagnetism! Follow along with the entries below:Red & Blue: Uses anti-gravity to stay suspended. Appears without warning and uses THUNDER WAVE and similar moves.Yellow: It is born with the ability to defy gravity. It floats in air on powerful electromagnetic waves.Gold: It is attracted by electromagnetic waves. It may approach trainers if they are using their POKéGEAR.Silver: The units at the sides of its body generate antigravity energy to keep it aloft in the air.Crystal: The electricity emitted by the units on each side of its body cause it to become a strong magnet.Ruby: MAGNEMITE attaches itself to power lines to feed on electricity. If your house has a power outage, check your circuit breakers. You may find a large number of this POKéMON clinging to the breaker box.Sapphire: MAGNEMITE floats in the air by emitting electromagnetic waves from the units at its sides. These waves block gravity. This POKéMON becomes incapable of flight if its internal electrical supply is depleted.FireRed: It moves while constantly hovering. It discharges THUNDER WAVE and so on from the units at its sides.Diamond & Pearl: The units at its sides generate electromagnetic waves that keep it airborne. It feeds on electricity.Platinum: The faster the units at its sides rotate, the greater the magnetic force they generate.Black & White 2: The electromagnetic waves emitted by the units at the sides of its head expel antigravity, which allows it to float.Sun: They gather in places where electricity is available. They can be found clinging to the steel towers used to support power lines.Moon: It sends out electromagnetic waves, which let it float through the air. Touching it while it's eating electricity will give you a full-body shock.Ultra Sun: It's frequently the cause of power outages, which is why some power plants send out electrical signals that it can't stand.Ultra Moon: Perhaps because electrical lines are often buried these days, the number of Magnemite attacks on power plants has increased.Sword: At times, Magnemite runs out of electricity and ends up on the ground. If you give batteries to a grounded Magnemite, it'll start moving again.Shield: It subsists on electricity. As Magnemite flies, it emits electromagnetic waves from the units on each side of its body.Legends Arceus: A bizarre Pokémon with but a single eye embedded in an iron sphere. I suspect this creature levitates due to the magnetism it emits from its arms, which resemble horseshoe-shaped magnets.Pokemon Sleep: The units at its side generate electromagnetic waves that keep it airborne. On rare occasions, perhaps when it sleepily muddles the direction of its waves, it does loops through the air while asleep. BTB: It's a little magnet guy that floats and eats electricity. That might be a problem and we have yet to find a strong solution.Cover design by Kwesi PhillipsMusic by Junichi Masuda and Go IchinoseLeave us a tip at https://ko-fi.com/beyondtheball

Diamond: The electric pouches on its cheeks are still small. They cannot store much electricity yet. Pearl: It plays with others by touching tails and setting off sparks. This appears to be a test of courage. Platinum: The electric sacs in its cheeks are small. If even a little electricity leaks, it becomes shocked. The only thing more exciting than a big thunderstorm is a Beyond the Ball arc covering the Electabuzz line starting with Elekid! How rowdy is this monster baby? What serves as its baby bottles? Can it even store electricity? Answers to these questions and more await! Topics of distraction include: Mission Impossible, King of the Hill, Vince McMahon, etc. Follow along with the entries below: Gold: It rotates its arms to generate electricity, but it tires easily, so it charges up only a little bit. Silver: Even in the most vicious storm, this POKéMON plays happily if thunder rumbles in the sky. Crystal: It loves violent thunder. The space between its horns flickers bluish-white when it is charging energy. Ruby & Sapphire: ELEKID stores electricity in its body. If it touches metal and accidentally discharges all its built-up electricity, this POKéMON begins swinging its arms in circles to recharge itself. Emerald: If it touches metal and discharges the electricity it has stored in its body, an ELEKID begins swinging its arms in circles to recharge itself. Diamond & Pearl: It generates electricity by whirling its arms. However, it can't store the energy it makes. Platinum: A weak electric current flows between its horns. Sticking a hand there shocks the unwary. Black & White 2: Spinning its arms around to generate electricity makes the area between its horns shine light blue. Sun: When it's in a house, electrical outlets serve as its baby bottles. It sucks down electricity. Moon: This Pokémon is constantly fighting with Togedemaru that try to steal its electricity. It's a pretty even match. Ultra Sun: When it hears the crash of thunder, Elekid's mood improves. It can be useful to record that sound and play it when Elekid's feeling down. Ultra Moon: When its horns shine a bluish white, that's the sign it's fully charged. You'll get a shocking jolt if you touch it! Sword: When a storm approaches, this Pokémon gets restless. Once Elekid hears the sound of thunder, it gets full-on rowdy. Shield: It's not good at storing electricity yet. This Pokémon sneaks into people's homes, looking for electrical outlets to eat electricity from. Legends: Arceus: They generate electricity by spinning their arms. During a thunderstorm, if one hears the lively voices of children out in the wilderness, what one is actually hearing are the voices of Elekid. BTB: This little electric shock monster baby has an insatiable hunger for electricity and will guzzle it straight from the outlet. Don't touch the horns! Welcome or welcome back to 3-minute Japanese. 前回に引き続き、お金をテーマにお送りしています。 We are staying with the topic, which is money. 前回予告した通り、漢字の観点からお金を考えたいと思います。 As I stated in the previous episode, we would like to talk about money from the views of kanji, Chinese characters. First 2 kanjis are gold and silver. In this episode, we will look at gold. まず、「金」・「銀」の漢字を見ていきましょう。今回は「金」に注目したいと思います。 「金」が使われる代表的な単語は、以下の通りです。 The kanji for gold is used in the following words, 「お金」 “money”, 「金運」“luck with money”, and 「金利」“interest rate” In German, money is das Geld, yellow is gelp, and gold is das Gold. The sounds for yellow and gold are quite similar. Incidentally, the words for colors gold and yellow, 「金色」and 「黄色」are believed to be related. ドイツ語でお金はdas Geld、黄色はgelp、金は英語と同様das Goldで非常に音が似ていますが、関連語と考えられています。因みに日本語で金色と黄色も同様、関連語とみられています。 It is natural to see that gold and money are interchangeable in many languages. 「金」と「お金」は多くの言語において代替的に使われていることが分かります。 That's it for today. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler, Pete Hailey and an extra energetic Brian Mitchell are the voices who'll take you through this chapter of Redskins Talk. After botching the open so badly that they needed to get back in the huddle and restart, the guys open up a lengthy discussion on Jay Gruden that goes a bunch of different ways. Among the questions asked about Gruden in the discussion: Does he deserve to be on the list of coaches most likely to be fired in 2018? How much credit should he get for making the 'Skins respectable? And is he the guy to elevate the Burgundy and Gold? It's all interesting stuff and leads to a lot of good points that'll make you think as you're sitting in devastating traffic or mowing your lawn. The end portion of the pod, meanwhile, is devoted to a neat idea that JP is cooking up and a strong Russ Grimm story, as told by B-Mitch. If you like podcasts where it's revealed that Brian plays more games on his phone than a teenager and Pete is muted for the first time in a long time, then this is the episode for you.
