Commentant la vie musicale depuis le premier balcon de la critique, Ivan A. Alexandre a également su trouver sa place sur scène. Ou plutôt, à côté des scènes. Depuis les alcôves où se nichent les dramaturges. För 100 år sedan fick kvinnorna sin rösträtt i Sverige. Men varför blev vi sist i Norden? Hör del 1: De brända breven. Dessutom: Klassikern om Mozarts tre operor med da Ponte-libretton. I tre långa kulturreportage ger P1 Kulturs Anna Tullberg och Mattias Berg sin version av historien om den kvinnliga rösträttens genomförande. Den 24 maj 1919 hade en flera decennier lång kamp nått åtminstone ett delmål, på vägen till allmän och lika rösträtt för både kvinnor och män. Våra reportrar har givit sig ut på jakt efter vad som visade sig vara ett slags kulturhistoriskt mysterium. Jagat försvunna gästböcker och försökt läsa fragment av brev som tycks ha ryckts ut ur elden i sista stund. Träffat experter, släktingar och vittnen. Rest bakåt i historien, ut i landet, ned i arkiven. Sin berättelse har Anna Tullberg och Mattias Berg kallat för "Eld och glömska åt dessa rader", efter ett citat ur rösträttskvinnornas flitiga korrespondens som ofta skulle brännas av mottagaren. I den här första delen ska vi bland annat få höra om vad de hittade i den gåtfulla Lydia Wahlströms privata arkiv på Kungliga bibliotekets handskriftsavdelning. Dessutom får vi följa med in i magnifika Villa Skogsbrynet i Karlstad, där en av de mer okända nyckelfigurerna samlade stora delar av den kvinnliga rösträttsrörelsen vid sitt matsalsbord. Uppläsare i programmet är Ana Gil de Melo Nascimento. Dessutom: Klassikern av Per Feltzin om Mozarts tre operor med da Ponte-libretton: Om en tid och en plats i världshistorien då två speciella personer möts. Mozart och hans librettist Lorenzo da Ponte gör först "Figaros bröllop", sedan "Don Giovanni" och sist "Così fan tutte".

Daniel P. Schrag is the Sturgis Hooper Professor of Geology at Harvard University, Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering, and Director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment. Schrag studies climate and climate change over the broadest range of Earth history. He is particularly interested in how information on climate change from the geologic past can lead to better understanding of anthropogenic climate change in the future. In addition to his work on geochemistry and climatology, Schrag studies energy technology and policy, including carbon capture and storage and low-carbon synthetic fuels. Schrag currently serves on President Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Among various honors, he is the recipient of the James B. Macelwane Medal from the American Geophysical Union and a MacArthur Fellowship. Schrag earned a B.S. in geology and geophysics and political science from Yale University and his Ph.D. in geology from the University of California at Berkeley. He came to Harvard in 1997 after teaching at Princeton. Her other recent work includes Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna, currently on tour in Europe, Invisible Thread at Second Stage, The Public Theater’s Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR on Broadway and London’s West End. As an opera director, her credits include The Magic Flute, the complete Monteverdi cycle, and the trio of Mozart-Da Ponte operas, among others. Diane is Professor of the Practice of Theater in Harvard University’s English Department. She was selected as one of Variety’s “Trailblazing Women in Entertainment for 2014” and Boston Magazine’s “50 Thought Leaders of 2014.”
