This week's quiz: On 26 March, I asked you a question about an article written by my colleague Laura Angela Bagnetto, which also was a feature on her excellent bi-monthly podcast Africa Calling – which I know you all listen to regularly. Laura Angela's story was about a marvelously dedicated teacher in Uganda, Irene Ocwee Trends, who during the pandemic lockdown took into her very own family home 30 children. The boys and girls – from 13 to 17 years old - were in the final year of her primary school, and Trends wanted them to be able to continue their schooling uninterrupted. And the hard work paid off … all her students passed Uganda's national exams and will go on to secondary school. Teachers. What heroes! Uganda ranks schools on how well students at any particular school do on their national exams. My question to you was: after Ocwee Trends' students took their national exams and passed with flying colors, where did Uganda rank the Hilder Nursery and Primary School in their list of schools? The answer is, as Laura Angela wrote: “Her final year students took their national exams, and Hilder Nursery and Primary school was named the 20th top school in the whole country after the results were announced.” The winners are: M. Com o lançamento do álbum "Olorum”, de Mateus Aleluia, o podcast de música do Nexo se debruça sobre a história e as referências de seu antigo grupo. Na década de 1970, os Tincoãs lançaram álbuns clássicos que trouxeram cantos e ritmos do candomblé para a música popular.

Neste episódio a convidada Ana Magalhães traz o ponto de vista da mulher no tambor e seus desafios, e também conta sobre sua trajetória no reencontro com a ancestralidade. Multiartista, uma das percussionistas e produtoras do Dembaia, grupo de dança e percussão africana e em suas diásporas. Djembefola referência no Rio de Janeiro, coordena um grupo de prática em percussão africana junto com o projeto Moussoloudon. Percussionista no projeto Pra Gira Girar - Uma Homenagem à Os Tincoãs. Diretora musical e musicista no espetáculo Olhos D'água ou Das Pedras Nasciam Asas, realizado pelo Grupo Emú e Dembaia. Faz parte da Coletiva Audiovisual Elekô, onde juntas produziram e realizaram o filme ELEKÔ (2015) exibido em festivais importantes como o International Film Festival Rotterdam e ganhador nas categorias de Melhor Filme e Sound Designer no Festival 72h (RJ), além disso participou de trilhas sonoras em longa e curta-metragens importantes da cena atual do cinema negro. Formado por descendentes de escravos em Cachoeira, cidade histórica no Recôncavo Baiano, o grupo promoveu um encontro singular entre a MPB, a música do candomblé, os sambas de roda e o canto coral de origem católica. Comment ça tu trouves qu'on se fout de ta gueule ? Que c'était mieux avant, ben vas-y, VAS-Y ! Fais le ton épisode de Suisse Mayhem sans Noé et Arthur, enregistre le en deux fois parce que la prise son à foiré, et monte le en trois semaines parce que tu as des priorités. VAS-Y ! Et une fois que tu l'aurais fais, que tu seras crevé, on t'attaquera en justice pour atteinte à la propriété intellectuelle, on gagnera le procès et on piquera tout ton pognon comme des vautours. C'est ça que tu veux ? Rubrikoje „Retro“ – egzotiškoji vokalinio trio „Os Tincoãs“ ritmai ir balsai, bylojantys apie Bahijos regiono tradicijas, paslaptingus ritmus, Angolos ir Brazilijos sąsajas. Brazilijoje paplitusio paukščio, ten vadinamo „tincoã“ vardu pasivadinusi grupė 7-ajame – 6-ajame dešimtmečiuose buvo viena populiariausių, o jų repertuare – liaudies melodijos, pasiskolintos iš vietinių gyventojų, žiniuonių, galinčių savo ritmais laiminti, prišaukti lietų ar mirusius.
