Well, it's finally here. I never thought that I'd see the day that Talk 2 Q would make it to 1K. And I want to thank each and everyone of you out there who helped to make it happen. Whether you checked out one show or all of them, I truly appreciate it. On this show, we will discuss child support. Not everyone believes in it. There are plenty of men and women out there who think that as long as the non-custodial co-parent is "doing their job" then the legal paperwork for an order isn't necessary. Do you agree with that? We'll discuss that on this 1,000th episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show. "No experts. Just opinions." Show #1,000 SHOW ME LOVE! Should we celebrate the joys of motherhood for "underaged moms"? Decades ago, teens were shunned for being unwed and pregnant. That's not always the case in the 21st century. It's not uncommon to see pregnant teens celebrated by having baby showers for them (or even making them part of reality TV shows). Is that a way of showing them support for their upcoming journey into motherhood or is it celebrating her for starting a family that she may not be ready for and normalizing teen pregnancies? We'll discuss it on this episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions." Show #998 Follow me and support the show! http://linktr.ee/Talk2Q. Watch on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyiptMU3sH8. Are we forcing our children into adulthood too soon? By telling a boy that "he's the man of the house" because his dad is absent doing a disservice to him? Is having your daughter regularly changing her younger sibling's diapers subconsciously removing the fear of being a single parent? Parenting strategy is probably one of the most argued topics next to religion. Society is rarely on the same page when it comes to raising our kids and it shows. Why is there such a rush for kids to do grown-up things now? We'll discuss that and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show. "No experts. Just opinions." It's not really something that has been discussed at length, despite the fact that social media has been around for about 20 years now. When you start a relationship with someone new, when, if ever, do you follow them on social media? With social media being so engrained in our lives these days, is it expected? Also on the show, do you ever follow your friend's significant other? Fair or foul to do that? We'll also get into if you should continue to follow an ex after a breakup. Where do you go when the place that's supposed to be your safe haven is inhabited by people you can't trust? How can you protect your mental health when your family's toxicity is the source? Sometimes our mothers, fathers, siblings and other family members can be "energy vampires". Should you have the mentality of "blood is thicker than water" and you stick it out or should you walk away from someone who may have literally brought you into this world? The 2022 Oscars Ceremony gave us something we've never seen on its live broadcast before: an assault on stage! Actor, Will Smith, took exception to a joke that comedian, Chris Rock, made about Will's wife, Jada. He stormed the stage and unleased a quick right hand to the face that Rock was definitely not expecting. When I was growing up, I had a ton of people who taught me things. I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother, my parents and my brother, who is 5 years older than me. I learned so many things from them in my younger years that have helped me as an adult. Unfortunately, more than ever, a lot of people don't have access to grandparents or a two-parent household or siblings old enough to have a few life experiences to pass down to younger ones. So, how can we as older people help the younger generation with acquiring knowledge to help them pave their way to a bright future without ridiculing them? That's what we'll discuss on this special birthday edition of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show. "No experts. Just opinions." This is also the Season 11 finale and there will be a giveaway! A friend of mine once told me that women are like Wi-Fi signals; once you get the password, you can always expect to pick them up whenever you're in the neighborhood. That's a harsh statement, but there's a some truth to it. Some women won't let go to an ex. Why is that? And it's not just women. Some men will double back on their past lives as well. Just look at how Kanye won't let go of Kim. It can be very unhealthy. Even dangerous. My guests and Show Legends will discuss ways to possibly prevent this on this episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show. INSTEAD OF SEEING WHERE THINGS ARE GOING, KNOW WHERE THINGS ARE GOING! So many ladies get caught up in the "vibe process" or dating. There are literally billions of people on this planet and for some to aimlessly date with the hopes of hitting the bullseye is beyond logical thinking. My guests and Show Legends will discuss some things that you can do to take the first step towards that forever relationship for those who honestly want it. At one point, there was no debate from the masses who the greatest NBA player of all-time was. Then along came LeBron James. He became the face of the NBA and seemed to be a staple in the NBA Finals for almost a decade. But how do you quantify greatness from two different eras? Jordan played in the 90's when things were much more aggressive than they are now. LeBron is currently playing in an era where free agency changes the balance of power in the league each season. So, there is a lot that has to be considered when having the conversation. Is it the number of championship rings? The number of MVPs? The number of career points scored? What makes Jordan or LeBron the GOAT in your mind? We'll discuss it LIVE on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions." (inhales deeply)It's so good to be back on the airwaves! I want to welcome all of you to the relaunching of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show. This brief podcast will give you some insight into the show if you're new to it and it will refresh the memories of the loyal listeners of days past.I decided to restart the show because the fire still burns for me. There's so much to talk about these days and some things just need to be said. I kind of wish that I could have gotten in on the Gayle King or Super Bowl Halftime Butt-Shaking discussions from a week ago. But, all of us who watch the news daily know that there's something crazy happening on a daily basis worth discussing. So, the show will never be at a lost for topics. The show will not air on a weekly basis like I did once before. It will air on an as-needed basis which simply means that if there's something I really want to discuss then I'll schedule a show for it. Enjoy this introduction and I'll see you on 2/20/20 at 8 PM Central Time for the real thing! Peace out!-Qwww.Talk2Q.com
It's been a wonderful 7 year run, but all good things must come to an end...Well, tonight is the night. I started the Talk 2 Q Radio Show (formerly the Thank, Q Show) back on February 20th in 2011. I only wanted to do one episode, just to scratch "talk radio show host" off of my bucket list. I've always had dream jobs as a youth, but I had no idea that my dream would come through to this extent.T2Q has been listened to over approximately 250,000 times. People not only have hit up Blogtalkradio, but also iTunes, Spreaker, TuneIn, Podcast Alley, and many other sites where talk shows can be found. And I'm so thankful to the many people who have contributed to the show and its success. It may be a guest who appeared for an interview or even someone who may have just participated in my weekly #T2Q Chats on Twitter and Facebook.Tonight, I'm sure that I'll get calls from many people who want to give their final two cents. We'll also mix in some topics because that's just what we do on T2Q.After tonight, you will still be able to keep up with future podcasts (which will drop randomly) by signing up for the e-mail newsletter here. Although the live weekly show is leaving, I will still drop a podcast now and then on important current event topics. After all, I can always get my Show Legends for a quick discussion on something. So, set your reminders this evening for the final live episode. The last show that allows you to call in and give your opinions. Because that's all I ever wanted for the Talk 2 Q Radio Show... With so many avenues of communication available these days, it's very easy to keep tabs on an ex or a potential boo. Sliding into DM's are pretty common and can cause drama in a couple's relationship, if it's allowed. But, does access to the opposite sex mean that you can't have a meaningful friendship with someone? Is it wrong to have someone to confide with sometimes or just share a funny meme with now and then? At what point does a person cross the line?We will discuss that and more as the Talk 2 Q Radio Show airs it's next-to-last episode! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 764Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The last edition of LTAS welcomes guest, Marcia Chambers! It's been since July 2017 since we last had a LTAS show and I figured that I had to get in one more installment before the T2Q live show finale on 2/20. As usual, I didn't want to do it alone as I am joined by first-time guest, Marcia Chambers, of The Speaker MC Show! Marcia is a speaker, talk radio show host, a sexual wellness consultant, and more! On tonight's show, we'll discuss the following:Sexual appetites in men and womenThe joy of "Edging"Is sex now just something to do?All of these things and more as the Talk 2 Q Radio Show finishes up its last 3 live shows! "No experts. Just opinions." Show No. 763Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Do men lead with their wallets?A few weeks ago, we talked about how some women are just a big butt and a smile. Well, tonight, we'll discuss some men who are nothing more than a come-up.Is it trickin' if you got it? Contrary to what most rappers believe, it absolutely is. If a man needs to use his money (or the illusion of it) to get a woman's attention, then is he any different than a woman who uses her body to get what she wants? Also on the show, is 30 the new 20? Why is it that there are some people who are in their 30's who still don't get it? With one bad decision after another, it's making it that much tougher on our younger generation to find role models within their households. These things and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 759Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Trump, monkey shirts, and MLK discussions on tonight's show!Donald Trump wants to do away with "dark-skinned countries" in favor of countries like Norway. There is outrage that he may be racist. Uh, okay. How many incidents will it take to actually conclude that he's either the most insensitive public figure ever or maybe he actually is racist?A black kid in a monkey t-shirt gets national attention last week. Is his mom at fault for allowing this to happen or should blacks get over the whole "blacks are monkeys" racism thing? And will we ever live in a society when certain words, images, and phrases don't trigger something really negative?Lastly, as MLK Day has come and gone, and one has to speculate what Dr. King would say today if he were still alive. Would we be better as a nation had his voice never been silenced? Would black people be so out of touch to the societal issues that they themselves have the ability to correct? We'll discuss these things and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 757Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. Is this county way too fascinated over a big butt?Everywhere we look on social media, we see a big butt and a smile. It may be some advertisement for clothing or maybe just someone flaunting a new profile pic. And we men eat it up. No pun intended.Men are fascinated with the shape of women's bodies. Of course, that's been the case since the beginning of time, but now every day, it seems to turn into more of an obsession. It's so easy for men to access photos of bodies via the internet, that we tend to over-indulge. The result: we get a visual in our heads of what we think an attractive woman should be. Does that make us not appreciate an everyday woman because we're fascinated by the King Magazine models? We'll discuss these things and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 754Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The day has finally come for T2Q to fade to black.I made the announcement months ago that things were going to change after show #750. Are we are own worst enemy when it comes to privacy? How many times do you see someone on Facebook tell their business, only to say "stay out of my business" later that day? We all should value our privacy, but so many people don't understand how their private information becomes public information. We put family drama on social media for "cyber couch therapy sessions". We tell people, that we think are our friends, personal information. We trust technology to protect our most intimate items and thoughts. On tonight's show, we're going to raise awareness to protect one's privacy. We will also Get Crystalized as Show Legend, Crystal Hickerson, brings you the trending items on the World Wide Web!All on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Every day, we see a new story on TV about some celebrity or politician being accused of sexually harassing someone. Some of the accused have admitted to the wrong doing, while others are strongly denying it. The question is: what is sexual harassment?Well, it's not what some of us may think that it is. Sexual harassment isn't just grabbing a woman on the butt or constantly pressuring someone to go out with you. It's a lot more involved in the definition of it and people need to be made aware and educated, if they hope to avoid it.Tonight, we'll discuss not just the definition, but some of the high profile people being accused, and what the punishment should actually be.Also on the show, we'll Get Crystalized and discuss other trending topics in the world! In almost 2018, body shaming is still alive and well...Jan Shedd took to Facebook on Wednesday to call out Channel 8 in Dallas' new traffic reporter, Demetria Obilor, who she said was a “size 16/18 woman in a size 6 dress.” “Has anyone seen Channel 8's new morning traffic reporter? Her name is Demetria Obilor & she's a size 16/18 woman in a size six dress and she looks ridiculous,” Shedd wrote in the now-deleted post. -- NY Daily News There's a traffic ensemble anchor in Dallas, Texas by the name of Demetria Obilor. As you can see by the photos, she's extremely attractive. However, that's working against her in the eyes of some of her viewers. Here's the thing: you can be a TV personality and be attractive, but you have to do it by "societal standards". What does that mean? You can't be urban with it. No extreme curves. Booty, hips, and thighs need not apply when it comes to being a female sex symbol in the U.S. In other words, you can't be too black with it (despite the fact that some white women pay top dollar for surgical enhancements to "black it up", for lack of a classier phrase).Tonight, we'll discuss body shaming and if it has a place in society. We'll also Get Crystalized with Crystal Hickerson and discuss current events trending on the Web. This and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 740 of 750Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The media makes it money by causing panic across the country. Make no mistake about it, but there's money in fear. If they say something scary enough to get your attention and tune in, then they've done their job. But, can you blame them for doing what works? We're a fear-driven country that has people within it who sometimes make decisions based on if they're afraid or not. On the other hand, we have people, who I wouldn't call brave, but they operate without fear. Maybe even when they should be a bit afraid. We will also have a little fun and discuss horror movies and the direction they are trending these days. We'll discuss that tonight on this Halloween edition of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions." We'll also Get Crystalized with some current event topics on Cardi B. and Trump!Show No. 738 of 750.Scheduled for 60-74 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. We all have that one coworker...Although it's Breast Cancer Awareness month and that should be celebrated, there's another, less serious, type of cancer that we'll discuss on tonight's show: workplace cancer. We all have those coworkers who make our jobs hard. Not because of anything that's necessarily work-related, but because of things that are not. These are the people who are extremely nosy, very messy, jealous-hearted, you name it. They seem to only exist just to make your life difficult for 40 hours a week. What makes a person like this? Could it be a bad home life that makes them come to work angry? Did they miss a promotion and secretly want to take it out on others? We'll discuss that and more on tonight's Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 735 of 750.Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH! Hosted on Acast. America is starting to get numb to the mass shootings...Stop me if you've heard this before A man opened fire on concert goers and took out quite a few of them before shooting himself.I'm not trying to be cynical about the matter, but this is not uncommon in the U.S. any more. As much as we try to stop foreign terrorists from harming us, it's the domestic terrorists who are doing the most damage. Whether it's in our schools, movie theaters, and now concerts, people are inflicting fear and harm on their own citizens. What's the answer? Tighten hotel security? Uh, okay. I can't wait to have to take my shoes off at a Residence Inn. On tonight's show, we'll discuss this incident and how we'll once again do nothing about it. We'll also Get Crystalized and talk about trending topics on the web.The Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."Show No. 731Scheduled for 60-75 mins.www.Talk2Q.com Hosted on Acast. If given a choice, what would you do?People have been discussing whether to stand or kneel for the National Anthem for roughly a year now. Although Colin Kaepernick wasn't the first athlete to do it, he's been credited with starting this controversy. At what point do people actually discuss what's going on rather than just blabbering off about it? Most people don't care if you're standing or kneeling. What's being done to fix the problem? Tonight, the Show Legends and I will first educate everyone on what the problem is. Despite all of the media attention, most people listening to the talking heads haven't a clue while Kaepernick kneeled in the first place. It had nothing to do with the troops. We'll also get into what President Trump said about the situation and how he threw gas on the fire.We will also Get Crystalized and discuss other current events and trending topics. Should throwing those hands be a last resort? We all have disagreements from time-to-time, but some folks really know how to push your buttons. In those cases, what do you do? Do you sometimes have to jack someone's jaw just to get an understanding?Tonight, we'll discuss when do you have to fight and if there are rules to fighting. When, if ever, can someone jump in, and what is their role? What do you do if your mate/spouse is fighting? Try to help? Call the cops? Attempt to break it up?We'll also "Get Crystalized" and discuss current event topics that are trending on the Web as another episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show commences at 9 PM Eastern. "No experts. At what point do you label someone a traitor to their own race?Over the past few years, the words "sellout" and "coon" has been thrown around like free candy in social media. Everywhere you look, you see someone criticizing someone else and hitting them below the belt with one of those terms. Sometimes the term fits the person like a glove, but other times, it's used as aimlessly as the word "hater". I personally think that the terms are very overused and don't apply to half of the people/situations. However, I understand what compels someone to use the terms as well. What are some examples of being considered a sellout?Changing your hair from natural to straight.Wanting to appease white people by criticizing black people.Someone increasing their revenue instead of doing what's morally right. We'll also Get Crystalized and discuss current events and trending topics and more on this week's episode of the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! Is the first person that you date after a break up always a fluffer for someone else? Just a filler to take your mind off of your ex before you start preparing your mind to find your next?On tonight's show, we'll ask the question: can you have a relationship with the rebound?Do we take the wrong approach to the person after the ex and end up missing out on a good thing? Sure, we just want a distraction, but what if the distraction is someone who may be for us?We'll discuss that, Get Crystalized with the newest trending topics, and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!
