Join us as we walk through the Psalms, exploring how this rich book of Scripture meets us in every valley and hilltop as we experience God's gospel springs for our desert hearts. Sermon Recorded June 21st, 2026 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church Birmingham, Alabama Dr. Richard Pratt is the President of Thirdmill (thirdmill.org). Thirdmill was launched in response to the lack of training of Christian leaders around the world. Thirdmill recognizes where the church is growing the fastest, those Christian leaders have the least amount of training. Dr. Pratt personally witnessed this in the 1980's as he traveled for missions. Helping the church worldwide became his passion. He believed that any person that had the desire to learn more about the Bible should be given that opportunity. Furthermore, it should be accessible, in their own language, and at no cost to them.

In this Basics 2025 question-and-answer session, Parkside Church's Matt Ross poses attendees' questions to Alistair Begg and fellow speakers Willie Philip and Richard Pratt. What particular dangers does the church face in our politically divisive cultural climate? Hear answers to these questions and others as you listen in on the conversation.
Those serving in ministry can easily lean too far toward idealism on the one hand or pragmatism on the other. In Ephesians 4, the apostle Paul strikes a perfect balance between the hope that is ours in Christ and the necessity of speaking the truth in love to a lost and wandering world. Richard Pratt of Third Millennium Ministries walks us through this vital passage, helping us understand how we can live in a manner that is worthy of our high and holy calling. Bible passages: Ephesians 4:1-16
All Christian leaders, and especially those who minister the Word of God, must be sure that they remain firmly rooted in Christ. This is especially true when the world around us challenges the Christian faith in new ways. As Third Millennium Ministries' Richard Pratt explains, the apostle Paul experienced this in his own life—and in 1 Corinthians, he wrote how he was able to stay firmly rooted but also relevant in his changing world. Bible passages: 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Clay Jenkinson converses with historian Larry Skogen about his new book, To Educate American Indians. Skogen's book examines US policy of assimilating Native Americans into European-derived white America, including the nightmare of the Indian Boarding Schools, personified by Carlisle Indian School's superintendent Richard Pratt's racist mission statement: “Kill the Indian, Save the Man.” One of the fascinations of this subject is that so many of the white people engaged in coercive assimilation were, at least in their own minds, “philanthropists,” who believed they were doing the right thing. Embedded in the assimilation movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century was what is called “scientific racism,” the view that Anglo Saxon white people were the acme of world civilization and all others were lower on the scale of civilization, accomplishment, and even capacity. It's an important and at times chilling subject, and Larry Skogen is one of the nation's premier historians of these policies.

July 16th, 2023 Sermon at King's Chapel from guest preacher, Dr. Richard Pratt Jr.
In 1880, Richard Pratt opened the Carlisle School's Outing Program. Pratt framed the programs as an opportunity to give boarding school students real-world experience and cultivate practical skills they learned at school, but in reality, the Outing Programs were nothing more than indentured servitude. By the 1930s, most programs were so corrupt that they were discontinued. Were the programs nixed due to a sudden change of heart? No, it was the result of an independent research organization and their publication of the Meriam Report.Note: We would like to issue a content warning for this episode. Richard Pratt's boarding schools for Native American children didn't just materialize out of thin air. The idea that it was the job of the government to try to assimilate Native Americans into European settler culture had been around since the first Europeans stepped foot onto North American soil. So today, let's jump back in time and connect the dots from the Constitution to forced education.Hosted by: Sharon McMahonExecutive Producer: Heather JacksonAudio Producer: Jenny SnyderWritten and researched by: Heather Jackson, Amy Watkin, Mandy Reid, and KariMarisa AntonThank you to our guest K. Dr. Richard Pratt"Christ's Mission in our Changing World"Matthew 6:7-13In the Lord's prayer, he's not just teaching us how to pray, but teaching us what's important to him. He reminds us that the one who holds all of creation together cares for you. He teaches us that he desires God's kingdom to be manifested on earth as it already is in heaven, so that his dwelling place may be with mankind. And, he reminds us that God's kingdom will come, despite our earthly circumstances, and that he is aware of our daily needs. 7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as bthe Gentiles do, for cthey think that they will be heard dfor their many words. 8 Do not be like them, efor your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 fPray then like this: g“Our Father in heaven, hhallowed be iyour name.1 10 jYour kingdom come, kyour will be done,2 lon earth as it is in heaven. 11 mGive us nthis day our daily bread,3 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And olead us not into temptation, but pdeliver us from qevil.4
