Matthew 5:16 through 19 As Yeshua begins to interpret and apply the Torah, He exposes those who have corrupted and burdened the people with their own self-serving interpretations. He hints at just how far their narcissism will eventually take them as He explains that righteousness begins with recognizing the value of every human life.

Relevancy vs. RighteousnessThe lie is that you are too broken. The lie is that you are too far apart. The lie is that there is no more common ground to be found. The lie is that it's all bad. The lie is that they are too crazy to keep believing in them. The truth is that you can be so right that you take the wrong approach. I'm talking about the person you are at odds with.I'm talking about what works good versus what feels good. I'm talking about the greatest example of love that was ever shown to us.If we could watch the son of God step in our shoes and handle our conflicts for us…We would be perplexed.Disoriented.Dumbfounded… but only for a moment. We would then become dissolved. We would become completely aware of what radical love can do in the face of hate and rejection. The action that is opposite of our intuition is often the key that unlocks the much-needed next step. You are probably right. They are probably wrong. But the more you chase the facts, the farther you will get away from the actual truth; To take someone where you want to go, you must first meet them where they are. They're hurting and broken just like you. They're needing affirmation and security, just like you. They want to feel loved and accepted in their own way, just like you.And whoever offers that first does something huge for both of you. Relevancy is more important than righteousness, my friend. It's weird. It's maddening. But it's true. So which will you choose?Cheers,BWDo you have a marketing problem you'd like us to help solve? Message: A letter of Paul to Timothy as he nears the end of his life as he has kept the faith and awaits the crown of righteousness. Paul has been isolated and imprisoned, relying on the support of friends for survival. Paul reflects on his life in Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit, caring little for his life, but that he might finish with joy in the plan God had for him. God has a plan and purpose for each of us, carrying it out in and through us. Paul is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and it allows us to see ourselves. In 2 Corinthians 6:1-10, we sing the praises of God together , but his grace should not be taken for granted. God has delivered us and salvation is critical. In all things we are in a fallen world and are in need, but are not to be part of this world. There are trials, because we proclaim the name of Christ, it arises from nowhere, so we're reminded of prayer, patience and God's plan. *IN-BY-AS In faith* we're called to finish the course, letting nothing forfeit us. By* God, by the supernatural power in us, defensively and offensively, we are to fear nothing, He is greater than any situation. Nehemiah 4:14 is an encounter with overwhelming forces. It's a reminder to remember the Lord, fight by* the power truth and Word of God. People call us out, treat us wrongly, but God has another report of you. We are known and beloved by* Him. As* we are in the middle of battle, there is a power available to us, when we walk in God's strength. The strength is His truth and promises as* our identity, that others my see us in Christ. There are many crowns awarded to believers after salvation. The Greek word for crown in stephanos, royalty and honor, such is the name of Stephen the martyr. In the New Testament, it refers to the reward for the faithful, not to seize unearned, but for a follower of the Lord, obedient to stay on the course God had laid out. A crown of righteousness is given to those who long Christ's appearance and those in the struggle to keep Him first. With lamps lit and oil full are those living for His appearance in their life as Savior and Shepherd, seeking Him in prayer, studies, and testimony, anticipating His return. Everything we've done, outside the righteousness of God will be consumed by fire. In this there is conviction for the things we prized in this world above God, thereby missing the reward He has for us. It's a reminder to lean on the Lord as course to follow, as a ministry to finish, which produces an opportunity to reveal Himself and a good God to others. They're examining us, "reading our book", to see if we're holding fast to our profession of faith and the calling placed on us. Maybe it's someone you know who persecutes Christians, what's your response going to be? When you are challenged, "Do you believe in Jesus Christ?", do you say, "Yes, I do!" The crown of righteousness is for believers, purchased by Christ and bestowed to the saints who love His appearing, putting everything else secondary to His work, calling and leading. Will we say, "I do!"? The crown is a symbol of trust and desire to be with Christ in every aspect of our lives, given by the righteous Judge to all those who love His appearance and anticipate it. This is not our safe place, be expectant of Him; He is excited about you. Trust and lean upon Him, fighting the fight of faith, not only for eternal life but for the crown of righteousness of God, of Christ, in you. Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:6-8 "For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." - KJV

Hang on tight boys and girls this is one of the longer episodes! This may be long, but it's definetly one that's not worth missing......hang on.....did we say that correctly........you don't want to miss this one! Aaron is obviously "Jonesing" to do some real fishing that he's been watching outdoor videos and that has carried over into this episode. Aaron did confess that he has once caught a duck out of mid-air which is impressive in and of itself! It may seem like alot, but to be honest, it was actually a slow week for the boys but that provided them the opportunity to allow God to work on bringing you some amazing content related to "Money and Rightousness" as Marshall and Aaron dive into Luke chapter 16 this week. Since the beginning of this podcast, we have often pointed you to the Banner of Truth Trust for very careful, helpful books. That book publisher was started by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, a pastor in London in early-mid 1900s. While we have pointed you to Lloyd-Jones, we have never shared one of his sermons. So for the next two episodes, we want to share one of John's favorite sermons from Lloyd-Jones. It is from Romans 6:18 and is titled “Servants of Righteousness.” You can learn more about the life, legacy, and teachings of Martyn Lloyd-Jones in Logic on Fire: https://shop.mediagratiae.org/products/logic-on-fire?variant=39481137332358 If you don't want to wait until next week for the rest of the sermon, click here to visit the MLJ Trust and see the other resources available through the ministry: https://www.mljtrust.org/sermons-online/romans-6-18/servants-of-righteousness/ Learn more about the MLJ Trust here: https://www.mljtrust.org/ iOS app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mlj-sermons/id819555751 Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mljsermons.mljsermonsappnew&hl=en Want to watch the Whole Counsel podcast videos? https://youtu.be/gdeF_JN45ho You can get The Whole Counsel a day early on the Media Gratiae App: https://subsplash.com/mediagratiae/app
When is enough enough? As I sit here watching and listening to things that is happening all over the world as well as in the home of others it is time for individuals to turn from their wicked ways. However what does that mean to you? Our wicked ways according to the scripture are hating and ignoring. This means we make time to spend quality time with God in prayer and in the word. 2 Chronciles 7:14 states "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, as I live saith the Lord God. I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Isreal? When one speak of wicked such refer to being evil or mischievous by nature. It is considered as evil or morally bad in principle or practice.Question is can one really turn from their wicked ways? Lets talk about it live 11/2/21 at 11:30am Pacific. to join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914. Hosted by Jeanette Abney LMFT.
