This has to be one of our busiest weeks of 2023 so far! Impact/NJPW Multiverse United, ROH Supercard of Honor, and of course the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 39! In the first of a two part episode, we talk the IMPACT & NJPW joint PPV event, Multiverse United, as well as one of ROH's most anticipated PPVs, Supercard of Honor! On Thursday, we see matches like Mike Bailey fighting Hiroshi Tanahashi, a 6 man X-Division match, as well as Minoru Suzuki will go face to face with KENTA!  The following day, Tony Khan's Ring of Honor hosts Supercard of Honor, where we see the crowning of the new ROH Tag Team Champions in a Reach for the Sky ladder match, Athena defends her ROH Women's World Championship against Yuka Sakazaki, and Eddie Kingston finally gets his shot at a world championship as he is slated to face his old friend turned enemy, Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship! The Lucha Brothers are still the AEW Tag Champs. They beat FTR. CM Punk pinned Eddie Kingston with the Go 2 Sleep. Punk offered to shake Eddie's hand after the match. Eddie did not accept and just walked away. Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus & Christian Cage beat Adam Cole & the Young Bucks in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Jungle Boy pinned Matt Jackson after hitting him with a Conchairto on the entrance ramp. Inner Circle beat The Men Of The Year & American Top Team in a Minneapolis Street Fight. Chris Jericho pinned Dan Lambert after landing a frog splash from the top rope. MJF used his Dynamite Diamond Ring to knock out Darby Allin, and then pinned Allin with a side headlock. Cody Rhodes & Pac beat Malakai Black & Andrade El Idolo. Pac pinned Andrade with the Black Arrow. AEW introduced its newest major signing - former Ring Of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal. He quickly set himself up to challenge Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on Wednesday night's Dynamite. On the Buy In preshow…Thunder Rosa & Hikaru Shida beat Nyla Rose & Jamie Hayter. Shida rolled up Rose for the pin. Those two will meet again on Wednesday's Dynamite in a TBS Championship Tournament match. The NEW NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan - Tomohiro Ishii - is also being promoted for Wednesday's Dynamite. (STINGER: New Japan) Tomohiro Ishii took the NEVER Title from Jay White in the main event of Saturday night's Battle In The Valley show in San Jose. Also on the show, Will Ospreay pinned Ren Narita with Hidden Blade. Later, Ospreay returned to the ring...and pitched a Wrestle Kingdom 16 title match for himself on January 5th. He'll get the winner of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match between Shingo Takagi and Kazuchika Okada that's already set for January 4th in Tokyo Dome.. Okada beat Buddy Matthews in Matthews' New Japan debut Saturday night. Impact World Champion Moose beat Juice Robinson in a non-title match. After the match, Jonah - the former Bronson Reed in WWE - arrived in New Japan and attacked both Robinson and David Finlay, who tried to come to Juice's aid. Jonah tweeted Sunday that his agreement with New Japan leaves him open for other bookings in the U.S. Chris Dickinson tweeted early Sunday that he needs “every and all positive vibes in the world right now” after he was apparently injured during his match at Battle In The Valley. New Japan pulled Dickinson from today's tapings of New Japan Strong in Riverside, California...but offered no details on his injury. Dickinson was on Saturday night's episode of Strong, where he lost to Minoru Suzuki. The episode featured matches recorded in Philadelphia last month. Rocky Romero & Fred Rosser beat the Strong Openweight Champion FILTHY Tom Lawlor & Danny Limelight. Lawlor was pinned by Rosser. Back in Japan… The Best Of The Super Juniors tournament resumes Monday...with Jr. Heavyweight Champion El Desperado vs. Taiji Ishimori...and Hiromu Takahashi vs. SHO among the matches. The tournament's opening night on Saturday saw SHO get a win over El Desperado. Tetsuya Naito returned to in-ring action on Sunday. He and SANADA beat Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI on the first night of the World Tag League tournament. Naito pinned YOSHI-HASHI with Destino. New champions were crowned at Pro-Wrestling NOAH's show on Saturday. Kenoh beat Masaaki Mochizuki to win the GHC National Title. Kenoh then challenged GHC Heavyweight Champ Katsuhiko Nakajima to a Double Title Match. That is now set for Sunday, November 28th. Also on Saturday, Keiji Muto & Naomichi Marufuji took the GHC Tag Titles from Kaito Kiyomiya & Masa Kitamiya. Muto pinned Kitamiya. (STINGER: ROH) A title change in Ring Of Honor over the weekend. The OGK - Matt Taven & Mike Bennett - are the new ROH Tag Team Champions. They dethroned Dragon Lee & Kenny King on Sunday night's Honor For All special on HonorClub. It should have been a classic night of Junior Heavyweight wrestling where 8 AMERICAN competitors battled it out to compete in the 2005 New Japan Pro Wrestling "Best of the Super Juniors" tournament. Instead it was a rainy night once again (well technically this came first but that's semantics and at least we were indoors), and this time the fan reaction was quite different to say the least. It was the end of onen era as ROH bid farewell to Dan Maff between shows but the beginning of another as new ROH Tag Team Champions would be crowned. The ROH World Title hung in the balance between Austin Aries and "The Notorious 187" Homicide, the Saints and Embassy had a...grating...battle, and we've got some ridiculous stories about that one (HE'S BLIND)!It was Asbury Park, NJ on April 2nd of 2005 (probably one day too late honestly) and it was the "'Best' Of the American Super Juniors Tournament"! The Broken Hardys, while currently enjoying a run as ROH Tag Team Champions, are facing legal troubles from some struggling wrestling promotion. Daniel Bryan hints at a possible return to the ring once his WWE contract is up, while Naomi father’s hints she be in the ring for Mania. Alberto once again has some family trouble, as the love of his life Paige had her phone stolen, hacked and had personal photos and videos leaked to the internet. With WrestleMania under two weeks away, the WWE is doing there best to sell us on matches we initially didn’t want to see. RAW continues to be serviceable, with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho still being the parts of the show. Mick Foley’s firing did evoke some emotions out the Slambros, but Stephanie’s poorly motived character looms over too much of RAW. Sami Zayn may be a guy who can take a loss, but how many loses are too many? Shane McMahan can still jump, but even a coast to coast elbow cannot overshadow how much The Miz stay winning. Two weeks in a row, The Miz aka Mike from the Real World and wife Maryse are the top attractions on Smackdown Live. Between and Talking Smack and Total Bella parody, family Mizanin are solidifying themselves as one of the best acts in all of pro wrestling.
