Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, December 14, 2021. People across the world of pro wrestling are mourning the death of Jimmy Rave. He was a steady presence on the U.S. independent scene for nearly two decades…and had memorable runs in Ring Of Honor and TNA. Rave struggled with drug addiction. His health took a dramatic downturn just over a year ago when an infection led to the amputation of his left arm…and in October, BOTH of his legs. He leaves behind two children. Jimmy Rave was 39. (STINGER: WWE) The WWE Championship match at the Day 1 pay-per-view is now a 4-Way: Big E defending against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens…and Bobby Lashley. Lashley earned his way into the match by beating all three of his Day 1 opponents in separate matches on last night's Raw. There were plenty of shady circumstances involving all three wins, but hey…he got them. Another match added to Day 1. Liv Morgan will get another shot at Becky Lynch and the Raw Women's Championship. Lynch attacked Morgan last night, crushing her arm between the ring steps and ring post. Also last night…Otis pinned one-half of the Raw Tag Champs Riddle. One-half of the women's tag champs Queen Zelina pinned Rhea Ripley with a rollup in less than a minute after Ripley got distracted by Nikki ASH getting superkicked by Carmella. Bianca Belair pinned Doudrop with a 450 splash. But Doudrop laid out Belair after the match. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode beat United States Champion Damian Priest & Finn Balor. Ziggler pinned Balor with the ZigZag after Balor got distracted by Austin Theory taking a selfie on the ring apron. The RK-Bro-nament final did NOT happen last night. That was to pit the Street Profits against Rey & Dominik Mysterio. But WWE announced there are injuries on BOTH teams…and the match is now pushed back until December 27th. During a Twitch stream Monday night, Matt Hardy said WWE may have “jumped the gun” when it released Jeff Hardy after he walked out on a house show match in Texas earlier this month. Matt Hardy confirmed Jeff was released after he refused to go to rehab. Matt openly speculated that the results of Jeff's drug test following the incident will come back clean. (STINGER: AEW) Ring Of Honor Pure Champion Josh Woods is on tonight's AEW Dark. He'll face Shawn Spears. We'll finally see Mei Suruga in action inside an AEW ring. She and Emi Sakura take on Riho & Ryo Mizunami. Marina Shafir makes her AEW debut against Kris Statlander. Plus, Chuck Taylor vs. Ryan Nemeth…and Daniel Garcia and 2point vs. Dark Order's Evil Uno, Colt Cabana & Alex Reynolds. On last night's Dark: Elevation…Tony Nese beat Alex Reynolds. Tonight's NWA Powerrr has…The Hex defending the NWA Women's Tag Titles against Mickie James & Kiera Hogan. Plus, Dirty Dango & JTG vs. Aron Stevens & Kratos.. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor's Final Battle got the bulk of the attention - but there was also an episode of ROH TV over the weekend. Sledge beat PCO in a Falls Count Anywhere Match…EC3 beat Eli Isom…and Miranda Alize beat Chelsea Green after a distraction by The Allure. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan holds its finals in the World Tag League and Best Of The Super Juniors tournaments on Wednesday. But it's all overshadowed by Katsuyori Shibata's promise to make a major announcement on the show. The Best Of The Super Juniors final has Hiromu Takahashi vs. YOH. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI face EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi in the World Tag League final. IWGP World Heavyweight Champ Shingo Takagi…and Kazuchika Okada will be back in action Wednesday…on opposite sides of an undercard tag match. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, December 14. (STINGER: WWE) Wrestlers and fans are offering well wishes after Fightful reported Thursday that WWE has released Jeff Hardy. In addition to Final Battle, this weekend's ROH TV has PCO vs. Sledge in a Falls Count Anywhere Match…EC3 vs. Eli Isom…and Chelsea Green vs. Miranda Alize. Check out the new episode with special guests Brohemoth, Scarlett & Zeke Mercer…right now, wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: WWE) Who's staying…and who's leaving NXT? The answers are not 100% clear following last night's episode, but here's what we do know. Johnny Gargano was in the midst of what sounded like an emotional farewell at the end of the show, but he was interrupted by an attack from Grayson Waller…who powerbombed Gargano through the announce table. The show opened with Von Wagner beating Kyle O'Reilly inside a steel cage, and battering O'Reilly with the cage door after the match. Pics have surfaced from after last night's show went off the air, showing Gargano, O'Reilly and Tomasso Ciampa embracing. Shawn Michaels was also giving out hugs. This LOOKED like a farewell for both Gargano and O'Reilly. Time will tell. MSK's shaman was revealed last night. It's Riddle! He gave them some words of advice and promised not to leave. Santos Escobar beat Xyon Quinn. Elektra Lopez slipped Quinn a pair of brass knuckles, but he never used them and Escobar won anyway. Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs beat the Creed Brothers…despite the Grizzled Young Veterans STEALING the tag rope from Jensen & Briggs' corner. The ref decided this meant Jensen couldn't tag in Briggs…but Jensen still managed to roll up one of the Creeds and get the pin. Dexter Lumis beat North American Champion Carmelo Hayes via disqualification. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's Dynamite has the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale. The last two men in the ring will meet next week for the Dynamite Diamond Ring, which MJF has won twice. Also tonight…Bryan Danielson vs. John Silver…Jamie Hayter vs. Riho…and the Young Bucks vs. Chuck Taylor & Rocky Romero. On last night's Dark… Emi Sakura beat Ryo Mizunami…after Mei Suruga attacked Mizunami behind the referee's back. There was post-match attack but Riho came to Mizunami's rescue. Also, Lee Moriarty beat Misterioso. Tony Khan told Barstool Sports the Christmas week episode of Rampage will air NOT on Christmas Eve, which is a Friday…but on Saturday - Christmas Day itself. (STINGER: ROH) A new title match is now added Ring Of Honor's Final Battle pay-per-view on Saturday. Dalton Castle will defend the ROH TV Title in a 4-Way…against Rhett Titus, Silas Young and Joe Hendry. Tonight's MLW Fusion Alpha has a Philadelphia Street Fight for the MLW Tag Titles - Los Parks defending against 5150. Also, the MLW debut of nZo. He'll face Matt Cross. Major League Wrestling's new MLW Azteca series will premiere on its YouTube channel on Thursday, January 6th. Dirty Dango - formerly known as Fandango in WWE - was on last night's NWA Powerrr…standing alongside JTG. Also on the show, Nick Aldis & Doug Williams - The British Invasion reunited…and they beat Luke & PJ Hawx. Colby Corino and The Fixers beat Victor Benjamin and The OGK. Corino pinned Benjamin. And Jennacide beat Paola Blaze… (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Best Of The Super Juniors tournament resumes Wednesday. Meanwhile, four teams are tied for the top spot in the World Tag League…with just two nights of matches left in that tournament. Two of those teams tied at 14 points a apiece will meet on Thursday, when Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI face Great-O-Khan & Aaron Henare. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA are also at 14 points. They beat the Guerrillas of Destiny on Tuesday, eliminating the G.O.D from contention. Naito & SANADA go up against Tiger Mask & Yuji Nagata on Thursday. The fourth team sitting at 14 points is the IWGP Tag Champs Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. They face Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma on Thursday. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, December 8th. (STINGER: WWE) The return of Brock Lesnar is being promoted for tonight's SmackDown in San Antonio, Texas. Lesnar has been off of WWE TV since late October - when he was hit with a storyline suspension for laying out Adam Pearce. As of Thursday night, no matches are announced for Friday's SmackDown. WWE is postponing four live event dates in Canada scheduled for next month. No reason was given. A pair of Canadian dates at the end of this month - including a show in Toronto - are still going on as scheduled. Beth Phoenix announced Thursday she will step away from the announcer's desk on NXT following Sunday's WarGames pay-per-view. A sudden ending to a championship match on Thursday's NXT UK. Ilja Dragunov defeated Rampage Brown via referee stoppage to retain his UK Championship. The end came when Dragunov connected with a somewhat innocuous-looking kick to Brown's head. But it apparently rocked Brown because he stayed down and the ref called for the bell. Meiko Satomura is still the NXT UK Women's Champion. He successfully defended her title against Xia Brookside. Also on the show, Saxon Huxley beat Kenny Williams. (STINGER: AEW) The TNT Championship is on the line on tonight's AEW Rampage. Sammy Guevara defends against Tony Nese. It'll be Moose defending the Impact World Title in a 3-Way...against Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey. Cardona & Eddie Edwards beat Moose & Morrissey in last night's main event. Rachael Ellering earned a spot in the Knockouts' Ultimate X Match at Hard To Kill with a win over Savannah Evans. Also last night, Rich Swann & Willie Mack beat Violent By Design's Joe Doering & Deaner... Chris Sabin pinned Matthew Rehwoldt with the Cradle Shock... And JONAH squashed Jai Vidal. Jake Something beat Bullet Club's Hikuleo on Before The Impact. (STINGER: ROH) Shane Taylor Promotions will defend the ROH 6-Man Tag Titles at Final Battle next weekend. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne & LA Knight vs. Bron Breakker, North American Champ Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller & Tony D'Angelo. D'Angelo helped Hayes retain the North American Title on last night's NXT. Hayes pinned Gargano to win the 3-Way main event that also included Dunne. The final participant in the women's WarGames match was confirmed last night. It'll be Kay Lee Ray joining Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai & Cora Jade. (STINGER: WWE) An ugly - and potentially dangerous - incident during last night's RAW. A fan crossed the barricade and tackled Seth Rollins to the ground during last night's RAW at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Two WWE referees immediately tried to pull the fan off Rollins, but it was at least 10 seconds before security finally intervened and allowed Rollins to get back to his feet. WWE released a statement, saying the fan was “turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." The attack happened around 9PM Eastern, after Rollins had just beaten up Finn Balor during an in-ring segment. Turning to more trivial matters from last night's RAW. It turns out Austin Theory stole Cleopatra's Egg during Survivor Series. Despite threats of more serious consequences, Vince McMahon rewarded Theory with a title match against WWE Champion Big E. Big E pinned Theory with the Big Ending to get the win. Two titles changed hands last night. First, Carmella & Queen Zelina are the NEW WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. They beat Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. Zelina pinned Nikki. The 24/7 Title changed hands TWICE last night. First, Cedric Alexander beat Reggie in a straight-up match. And then, in the aftermath of the match, Dana Brooke pinned Alexander to take the title...and escaped the building without further incident. Damian Priest beat SmackDown's Sami Zayn to retain the United States Title. Bobby Lashley beat BOTH Rey & Dominik Mysterio in a 2-on-1 match. Dominik submitted to the Hurt Lock. One-half of the RAW Tag Champs Riddle pinned Dolph Ziggler with an RKO. Bianca Belair pinned Tamina with the KOD...and AJ Styles & Omos beat the Street Profits via disqualification after Angelo Dawkins sprayed a fire extinguisher at both Styles & Omos. Tonight's NXT has a North American Title match. Carmelo Hayes defends in a 3-Way against Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne. Plus, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Grayson Waller… NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose vs. Cora Jade... and Indi Hartwell & Persia Perrotta vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter. Kenny Omega is officially title-less...for the first time in over two years. AAA stripped him of its Mega Championship after Omega confirmed he'll undergo surgery. Omega was scheduled to defend the title against Hijo Del Vikingo on December 4th. A new match for the vacant title has yet to be announced. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has The Acclaimed vs. Lee Johnson & Brock Anderson...and Lee Moriarty vs. Nick Comoroto. On last night's Dark: Elevation... Tonight's NWA Powerrr has Chris Adonis vs. The Pope...World Champion Trevor Murdoch & Crimson vs. Jeremiah Plunkett & Jax Dane...and Taryn Terrell vs. Kenzie Paige in a Social Distancing Match. Major League Wrestling announced it's instituting an “open door policy” which will bring more free agents into the company. (STINGER: AEW) AEW presents its Full Gear pay per view tonight. THREE title matches are on the card - none bigger than Kenny Omega defending the AEW Championship against Hangman Page. On last night's Rampage, Hangman confronted the Young Bucks backstage and promised to “ruin” them if they as much as lay a hand on him during tonight's title match. Dr. Britt Baker puts her AEW Women's Championship on the line tonight against Tay Conti. The Lucha Brothers defend the AEW Tag Titles against FTR. Bryan Danielson will collide with Miro in the final of the World Title Eliminator Tournament. Plus, CM Punk vs. Eddie Kingston... The Inner Circle vs. Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page & American Top Team's Junior Dos Santos, Andrei Arlovsky & Dan Lambert... Darby Allin vs. MJF... Adam Cole & the Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express & Christian Cage... And Cody Rhodes & Pac vs. Malakai Black & Andrade El Idolo. The main show starts at 8PM Eastern. The Buy-In pre-show begins at 7:30PM Eastern...and that will have Thunder Rosa & Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose & Jamie Hayter Getting back to last night's Rampage… Matt Hardy beat Orange Cassidy in a Lumberjack Match after The Blade hit Cassidy with a pair of brass knuckles. Dante Martin pinned Ariya Daivari with his double springboard moonsault. After the match, Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs & Hook invited Martin to join Team Taz. Jungle Boy beat Bobby Fish. Adam Cole's plan for a post-match attack fizzled...and Fish was left alone to deal with the consequences, which included a Killswitch from Christian Cage. Jade Cargill made quick work of Santana Garrett. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan is running a major show of its own on U.S. soil tonight. It's Battle In The Valley from San Jose. Jay White will defend the NEVER Openweight Championship against Tomohiro Ishii. IF Ishii loses, he can never challenge for that title again. Kazuchika Okada will go one-on-one with Buddy Matthews, who will be making his New Japan debut. Other matches include... Juice Robinson vs. Moose. Will Ospreay vs. Ren Narita.. And Josh Alexander vs. Yuya Uemura. The show begins at 11PM Eastern. English commentary for the live broadcast will be exclusive to FITE TV. New Japan World will only have the Japanese language commentary when the show is live. This is an incredibly busy weekend for New Japan. Back in Japan...the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament begins on Saturday... And on Sunday, the World Tag League kicks off...with six tournament matches, including Tetsuya Naito & SANADA vs. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI...Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano vs. EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi...and Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Minoru Suzuki & TAKA Michinoku. Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show of its own on Saturday with three title matches on the card, including Kaito Kiyomiya & Masa Kitamiya defending the GHC Tag Team Titles against Naomichi Marufuji & Keiji Muto. Plus, Kenoh challenges Masaaki Mochizuki for the GHC National Championship. (STINGER: WWE) It seems no one's spot is safe when it comes to the teams for the elimination tag matches at Survivor Series. Jeff Hardy beat Sami Zayn on last night's SmackDown. As a result, Zayn is OFF the SmackDown men's team. No replacement was named. Sasha Banks, Naomi & Aliyah beat Shayna Baszler, Shotzi & Natalya. Aliyah reversed Natalya's Sharpshooter into a rollup to get the pin. Naomi had a hand in the finish. That apparently upset Sonya Deville, because moments later backstage, Deville informed Aliyah that she's off the SmackDown women's team at Survivor Series...and there's no replacement named for that spot either. King Woods got a win over Universal Champion Roman Reigns via disqualification after The Usos interfered. This was a non-title match...BUT it was stated before the match that the loser must “bend the knee” to the winner, and if Reigns did not adhere to this..he would be stripped of his title and banished from SmackDown. Reigns was on one knee after the match after The Usos beat up Woods, so I guess he technically delivered on the stipulation. Also last night, Los Lotharios beat the Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs. And NXT's Von Wagner appeared backstage during SmackDown...apparently as backup for Adam Pearce. WWE responded to Keith Lee stating earlier this week that he paid for his own medical bills and expenses. WWE released a statement Friday, saying “Lee's recent comments implying WWE failed to pay his medical bills are erroneous.” That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, November 13th. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Sunday, March 21, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's show on Saturday was interrupted...by an earthquake. A magnitude 7.0...centered just over 30 miles northeast of Sendai...where the show was held. No major damage was reported. There were some minor injuries. In the arena in Sendai, the quake happened during a match. It shook video cameras and rattled lighting fixtures. The match immediately came to a halt. There was a 20 minute delay as the safety of the arena was confirmed. The semifinal matches in the New Japan Cup went on AFTER the earthquake delay. In the main event, Shingo Takagi pinned EVIL. Will Ospreay exploited a leg injury to David Finlay to punch his ticket. The tournament final between Ospreay and Takagi is the main event of Sunday's show at the same arena that hosted Saturday's. It's a rematch of the 2019 Best Of The Super Juniors final, which was won by Ospreay. Also on Sunday's card...Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi will team up against BULLET CLUB's Jay White, Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens. Okada, Tanahashi & Ibushi were victorious in a 6-man tag Saturday - the match that was interrupted by the earthquake. There was some tension between all three men during the match. (STINGER: WWE) WWE presents its Fastlane pay per view tonight. The main event has Roman Reigns defending the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan. Edge will be the special enforcer. EC3, Bandido, Flamita and Kenny King all failed pre-travel testing under the company's COVID-19 protocols. EC3 was set to meet Jay Briscoe in one of the most hyped matches on the card. Flamita and Bandido were set to defend their 6-Man Tag Titles. ROH said changes to the Final Battle card will be announced during the first hour of next Friday's event. That Hour One is airing for free on various platforms. New AEW Champ Kenny Omega making more headlines, including a surprise challenge for Joey Janela. Tonight in Mexico City, he defends his AAA Mega Championship against Laredo Kid at TripleMania.. The main event is a Hair vs. Hair match between Pagano and Chessman. And Impact Wrestling is promoting another appearance from Omega on its program Tuesday night. New Japan's Super J Cup Tournament goes down tonight. The eight man field includes El Phantasmo, Chris Bey, Lio Rush and ACH. Awaiting the winner is...Hiromu Takahashi. They had failed three previous attempts. Impact Wrestling presents its Final Resolution event tonight. Rich Swann defends the Impact World Championship against the aforementioned Chris Bey. Deonna Purrazzo defends the Knockouts title against Rosemary. Why wait until TLC? Sasha Banks defended her SmackDown Women's Championship Friday night against Carmella. However, the match ended with Banks being disqualified. After the match, Carmella smashed a bottle of champagne on the back of Banks. SmackDown is on FS1 next Friday. Finally, are you ready for NXT INDIA? Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics were first to report that WWE will begin filming the program early next year..and feature an eight-man elimination tournament.
