The heavyweight division just got more interesting, Naoya Inoue is the undisputed No. 1 fighter on the planet, and two sanctioning bodies just formed the first defensive alliance in boxing history. It's been that kind of week.On this episode , we break down everything that matters. Frank Sanchez stops Richard Torrez Jr. in two rounds at the Pyramids of Giza — a perfectly scouted counter right uppercut, a carefully managed prospect exposed at the first serious test of his career, and an IBF mandatory shot at Usyk now on the table. We get into Inoue's unanimous decision over Nakatani at the Tokyo Dome — 55,000 in attendance, two unbeaten fighters, and a result that moved Inoue to No. 1 on every major pound-for-pound list simultaneously for the first time in his career. Then we cover the fight the weekly package was built around: the WBO and IBF announcing a formal alliance against Zuffa Boxing — the first time two major sanctioning bodies have coordinated against a single promoter, and what it signals about where the sport's power structure is heading. Plus Benavidez TKO6 Zurdo — three-weight world champion, Canelo manufacturing excuses in real time, and the Bivol fight that the rankings now demand. Usyk's controversial R11 stoppage of Verhoeven, the scorecards that made it genuinely complicated, and why the Joshua fight now has real questions attached to it.We close out previewing next week — we'll be on the ground at the International Boxing Hall of Fame induction weekend in Canastota, New York. Full coverage, ringside access, and the conversations you don't get anywhere else. The Corner. For the people who already know.
A final concert can feel like a party, a farewell, and a time capsule all at once and ARASHI somehow makes it all work. We watch the We Are Arashi 2026 finale from Tokyo Dome and hit record immediately, because sitting with those feelings in silence was not an option. What follows is our honest, slightly scattered, very emotional recap of the night that closed a 26 plus year run and reshaped what a J-pop goodbye can look like.We talk through the moments that made the livestream feel huge: a Dome full of rainbow penlights, cinematic camera angles, drones, and those bold stage effects that swing from wonder to intensity in seconds. We also dig into the setlist pacing, from early high-energy throwbacks to the pair of emotional songs that detonated our tear ducts way too soon. If you've ever felt like one track can hold an entire era of your life, you'll know exactly why that section hit so hard. Then we slow down for the details that fans love: the outfit changes, the little bits of humor, the juniors on stage singing along, and the campfire-style staging that turned a stadium into something strangely intimate. Finally, we unpack the farewell speeches member by member, including the surprise moments when even the most composed voice starts to crack, and why the final song feels like a deliberate last gift.If you're watching replays, debating a Blu-ray purchase, or just trying to process the end of an era, this conversation is for you. Somebody's solo era starts overnight, a label's contract drama spills into public view, and deepfake creators are getting prison time. That's the energy of this Music Elixir conversation, where we connect the dots between K-pop industry news, fandom behavior, and the real-world consequences of what gets posted online. We talk through Heeseung opening new social channels under the stage name Evan and what a fast rebrand can say about planning, identity, and creative direction. Then we dig into the messy side of the business: reported contract terminations involving Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin from EXO, plus the broader ripple effect when a company faces financial instability and legal allegations. These stories aren't just headlines to us, they're a reminder that idols are working artists navigating contracts, settlements, and power structures while still trying to perform at a high level. We also get serious about AI deepfakes, privacy invasion, and defamation. SM Entertainment's legal update shows how hard the crackdown is landing, and we share practical ways fans can avoid spreading harmful fake content. From there, we jump to Japan with STARTO Entertainment and Snow Man calling out malicious rumors and speculative posts, because the same online culture problems are crossing borders. To end on a huge fan moment, we celebrate ARASHI announcing a livestream for their final Tokyo Dome concert, including how ticket access and archive viewing work, and why it feels both exciting and heartbreaking. 392 Japan Recap Godzilla Zipline Spider Man Trailer White Dragon UpdateDoom Scrolling IntroWe're back after a three-week gap, and it's for legit reasons: Joe got wrecked by strep throat, tried to power through a three-hour gig anyway, lost his voice, and then the Foos immediately went on their Japan trip—where the jet lag, nonstop walking, and full itinerary left zero energy for a hotel-room episode.Japan recap hits the highlights without turning into a travel documentary: derpy Godzilla hat and flappy Mothra wing hat reveals, why tourist areas are totally fine for a first trip, the pub stop on St. Patrick's Day, KFC-at-Christmas curiosity, and the most chaotic comfort-food tradition flex—finding a Shakey's in Tokyo for Joe's birthday. They break down the drinking and convenience store life (Strong Zero discourse included), compare Osaka vs Tokyo vibes, and talk about learning Japan's train system the hard way—eventually leveling up with digital Suica.Big trip moments: a preseason baseball game at the Tokyo Dome (chants, drumlines, beer girls with kegs on their backs), Universal Studios Japan (including the Donkey Kong add-on to Super Nintendo World), Tokyo DisneySea for a chill, nautical-themed park day, and the bullet train ride where they paid extra for the Mount Fuji side and almost slept through the view. The crown jewel: Awaji Island's Shin Godzilla Zipline—literally zipping into Godzilla's mouth—plus the museum, the mission-style attraction, and the absolutely ridiculous plush Godzilla backpack haul. They also nerd out on Japan's stamp culture (goshuin vs eki stamp books), the scavenger-hunt vibe of stamp rallies, and a weirdly fascinating rabbit hole: “mosquito” high-frequency anti-loitering devices that younger ears can hear.Geeking Out is a quick-fire catch-up: the Spider-Man trailer hype and Easter eggs (street-level vibes, Punisher, Hulk/Bruce Banner, Scorpion, and potential Man-Spider energy), the ridiculously long Rockstar breakdown video of a short trailer, and a long-awaited update—The Legend of the White Dragon finally getting a real release date after years of “coming soon” purgatory. They also rapid-list what they're watching again now that they're home: Shrinking, Monarch, Paradise, The Pit, Vladimir, plus chatter about another Mummy movie and getting back to Daredevil and For All Mankind.Chapters(0:00) Doom Scrolling Intro(5:16) Intro(5:55) Where We've Been Strep Throat Lost Voice Three Weeks Off(7:13) Japan Recap Godzilla Hat Mothra Hat Souvenirs-Tourist Spots vs Tourist Traps First Trip Logic-Osaka vs Tokyo Vibes Trains Suica Culture Shock-Strong Zero Convenience Store Life-Tokyo Dome Baseball Game Chants Beer Girls-Universal Studios Japan Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong-Tokyo DisneySea Chill Park Day-Shinkansen Bullet Train Mount Fuji Side-Shin Godzilla Zipline Awaji Island Museum Missions-Stamps Goshuin Eki Stamps Stamp Rally Quest-Mosquito High Frequency Anti Loitering Devices(1:01:55) Geeking Out Spider Man Trailer Rockstar Breakdown Video-Legend of the White Dragon Release Date Update-What We're Watching Shrinking Monarch Paradise The Pit Vladimir(1:14:18) Outro + Doom Scrolling OutroSpider Man trailer, Punisher, Hulk, Scorpion, Man Spider, Rockstar trailer breakdown, Legend of the White Dragon, Jason David Frank, Japan trip recap, Osaka, Tokyo, Tokyo Dome, Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo DisneySea, Shinkansen, Mount Fuji, Shin Godzilla zipline, Awaji Island, Strong Zero, Suica, goshuin, eki stamps, mosquito anti loitering device

Dak Prescott's wedding is off, Logan Paul backed out of a $1 million fight with an NFL player, and a soccer match in Brazil somehow ended with 23 red cards. Just another normal week in sports. This week on Craft Brewed Sports, we dive into the report that Dak Prescott and his fiancée called off their wedding after a massive fight at their joint bachelor/bachelorette party in the Bahamas. Did Dak dodge a bullet? We also break down Logan Paul pulling out of a proposed $1M boxing match with Le'Veon Bell, NFL free agency rumors, and Joe Burrow being spotted with Jessica Alba which sends the show down a dangerous 90s crush rabbit hole. Plus: • Team USA somehow still doesn't have a home run celebration in the WBC • Randy Arozarena is furious after Cal Raleigh snubbed his handshake • The Tokyo Dome ice cream sandwich might be the greatest stadium food ever • A woman is suing the Dodgers after allegedly getting hit with a flying BuzzBall • The NBA shuts down the Hawks' Magic City Monday promotion • Did NIL ruin March Madness upsets? • A Brazilian soccer match erupts into chaos with 23 red cards and police intervention • Scott only knows the Romelu Lukaku chant when soccer comes up And of course: beer reviews, degeneracy math, and the usual nonsense. Van Halen officially announced Tokyo Dome Live in Concert on February 5, 2015, following months of fan speculation and a leak just days earlier. Released March 31, 2015, the album became the band's first live record with original frontman David Lee Roth and bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, capturing the group on their A Different Kind of Truth tour in front of a massive Tokyo Dome crowd. The setlist spans every Roth-era Van Halen album, from the 1978 debut through 2012's A Different Kind of Truth, mixing early classics like “Runnin' with the Devil,” “Unchained,” and “Panama” with newer tracks such as “Tattoo” and “She's the Woman.” While the release was celebrated as a major reunion-era document, it also drew criticism in some circles for Roth's live vocal performance. According to Eddie Van Halen, the band first considered remixing early pre-fame demos, but the original tapes couldn't be located. They then explored releasing vintage club recordings, only to find the sound quality unusable. Instead, the band recorded every show on the 2012–2013 tour via Pro Tools, and Roth ultimately chose the Tokyo Dome performance as the official live release. The album's cover art updates Cassandre's classic 1935 painting of the SS Normandie, tying a vintage visual style to a modern live document of the band. Tokyo Dome Live in Concert would also go on to be the final Van Halen album released during Eddie Van Halen's lifetime, making it a significant closing chapter in the band's discography. Featuring David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Alex Van Halen, the album stands as a snapshot of Van Halen's late-era live sound and a full-career celebration of the Roth catalog. "Exclusively Van Halen" is your ultimate destination for all things Van Halen. From deep dives into the band's legendary history to giveaways and gear showcases, we celebrate one of the greatest rock bands of all time — every week.

I also go in-depth on why activist commentary (feminism, "women fighting for visibility") feels out of place in NJPW, cultural respect for Japan, why the women's titles feel like an afterthought, and how Stardom can headline the Tokyo Dome on merit—not gender narratives.Timestamps:0:00 - Intro & Wrestle Kingdom 20 overview1:45 - NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag "Ranbo" (Zack Sabre Jr., Oiwa & Hartley win)4:20 - The IWGP Women's & STRONG Women's title match (Syuri becomes double champ)7:10 - Rant starts: Commentary activism & inserting "woke" narratives12:30 - Respecting Japanese culture vs. American ideology imports18:45 - Why the IWGP Women's title exists + Stardom as separate division25:10 - Merit over gender quotas; Stardom selling out Tokyo Dome on its own32:00 - Women's wrestling observations: safety, training, storytelling40:15 - Final thoughts: Retire the titles? Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast with your host Marie Shadows!Season 7 kicks off going backwards through Wrestle Kingdom 20, starting with the main event: Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement match against Kazuchika Okada (January 4, 2026, Tokyo Dome). Why this felt like NJPW coming back (even a little), why Okada still delivers elite psychology when motivated, the weird commentary dynamic nobody's talking about (marching orders for Chris Charlton?), Tanahashi as the most powerful man in wrestling, why he could've called Nakamura but chose Okada, post-match brotherhood, the creepy ten-bell salute, and why wrist control & body-part work still matter more than flips.I go in on AEW's lazy Okada run, the failing NJPW-AEW partnership, bad yen excuses, immigration/culture takes, IWC negativity, and why Tanahashi retiring means he can finally president properly.Substack: https://marieshadows.substack.comPatreon: https://patreon.com/marieshadowsTimestamps!00:00 – Welcome to Season 7, Happy New Year, January 24 202600:46 – Where to find the podcast + what's coming in 202601:14 – IWC negativity, wrong labels, Marty Scurll correct story03:29 – Cyber bullying still alive, be open-minded04:35 – Wrestle Kingdom 20 make-or-break for NJPW, Tanahashi retirement05:52 – Economy/yen excuses vs real issues09:49 – Sold out because of Tanahashi, Okada wins12:01 – Why Okada over Nakamura, Tanahashi power13:37 – AEW partnership not benefiting NJPW (Twitter thread proof)14:47 – Dual contracts discussion coming soon16:39 – Tanahashi could've called WWE for Nakamura19:12 – Match breakdown: wrestling, wrist control, psychology27:54 – Why struggle > flips, working body parts30:50 – Finish, post-match mic, brotherhood parade32:04 – Commentary dynamic: Charlton marching orders, tension37:00 – Walker indie/woke insertions, respect Japanese style42:41 – Storytelling lost art in commentary51:02 – Final thoughts, brotherhood, ten-bell creepy53:05 – Plugs: like/share/comment/poll, Patreon, Tape Study, consultations
The snow was dumping outside, the cats were plotting chaos, and we finally hit play on the COUNTDOWN CONCERT 2025–2026 STARTO to MOVE New Year stream. What follows is a full-bodied tour through Tokyo Dome's spectacle: lasers slicing the dark, archival clips setting the stakes, and a camera that makes even nosebleeds feel electric. We walk you through the performances that stuck to our ribs—Travis Japan's Broadway polish, Naniwa Danshi's sweet glow, and Kenty's whiplash switch from adorable to dangerously smooth. We spend time where the story lives: in the details. Costumes aren't glitter for glitter's sake; sequins catch beams, pearls soften edges, and a splash of maroon or aqua makes a face pop from a distance. King & Prince prove how a duo can thrive by leaning into space and chemistry without overfilling the stage. Senpai anchors (ABC-Z, Kis-My-Ft2, NEWS) remind us how technique and stamina read across decades, while Snow Man turn camera time into a masterclass in micro-charisma. Then comes the member shuffle—a living archive where classics get new timbres, new harmonies, and new swagger—culminating in Koichi Domoto's rendering of a timeless classic, a tradition that ties generations together. When SixTONES finally explode onto the scene, the energy tilts from elegant to feral in seconds—fur, fire, streetwear, and pure adrenaline. WEST checks in by screen, the mini bike “horse race” delivers pure fan service, and the midnight countdown lands with cross-group song swaps that feel like love letters: Cinderella Girl with Naniwa's sheen, Snow Man and SixTONES trading signatures, NEWS and Timeless draped in sakura tones. Along the way, we discuss the idea that song covers are a celebration rather than replacement, and savor the unplanned moments—a wink, a tear, a laugh—that keep live pop human. If you're a STARTO fan, a J-pop casual, or just love great stagecraft, queue the countdown on Netflix, then press play on our breakdown. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a stage-side seat, and drop your pick for performance of the night—we want to hear who owned the Dome.Support the showPlease help Music Elixir by rating, reviewing, and sharing the episode. New Japan Pro-Wrestling closed the book on a defining era at the Tokyo Dome with Wrestle Kingdom 20, a show built around transition rather than nostalgia. Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement match marked the end of a 25-year in-ring career and served as a clear dividing line for the company moving forward, while the rest of the card focused on consolidation and direction through major title matches and contender-setting bouts. Wrestle Kingdom once again functioned as NJPW's annual truth serum — clarifying priorities, tightening the championship picture, and setting expectations for the post-Tanahashi era. Elsewhere, AEW wrapped up 2025 with Worlds End drawing an estimated 140,000 buys, pushing the company's annual PPV total near 1.25 million worldwide. MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship, restored the "Triple B," and immediately introduced volatility to the title scene with challengers lining up on television and a potential independent title defense looming at Limitless Wrestling. Willow Nightingale made history on New Year's Smash by becoming the first woman to hold two AEW championships simultaneously, while Tony Khan confirmed the return of AEW Grand Slam Mexico in 2026 and reiterated plans to expand dual-contract partnerships with CMLL talent. WWE entered the new year in the midst of its own structural shift. Trick Williams officially joined the SmackDown roster, Giulia regained the Women's United States Championship, and Matt Cardona was confirmed as an active SmackDown competitor. The WWE PPV and PLE archive began its transition to Netflix in the United States as Raw prepares to celebrate its one-year Netflix anniversary with a Stranger Things–themed episode. Injury updates for Dominik Mysterio and Sheamus, combined with The Usos capturing the World Tag Team Championships, further highlighted a roster recalibration heading into 2026. Tonight's episode breaks down the fallout from Wrestle Kingdom 20, what Tanahashi's retirement means for New Japan's future, and how AEW and WWE are repositioning themselves at the start of a new year. No overstatement, no revisionist framing — just a grounded look at a week that quietly reset the industry's direction. Wrestling Tonight: Episode 159

Wrestling Omakase is back already after going 9 and a half hours for our two part Wrestle Kingdom Week preview, but thankfully this time we kept it under 3.5 hours. Yes, somehow! John and returning guest Arametha are just a few days away from leaving from Japan and somehow manage to keep the off topic/trip chatter to a minimum (well, at the start at least- later on there's a Gundam tangent among other things), and that's a good thing because they have a whole bunch of final wrestling shows to talk about leading up to all the upcoming big ones! They open up with (what else?) STARDOM with a trio of shows: the special 12/18 PPV from Shin Kiba featuring the "first and last" Natsu & Saori vs. Team 200KG match, 12/21 from Osaka in front of another super hot crowd, and finally the 12/24 Korakuen. They discuss a very long title reign coming to an end, how John is feeling about Saori Anou's red belt chances in the final days before Dream Queendom, and a whole lot more! Then it's over to NJPW to discuss the Road to Tokyo Dome shows: first, the continued road to Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement as he took on Hiromu Takahashi and El Desperado, then the full 12/22 Korakuen featuring his main event with Kosei Fujita, a baffling TV Title match, a lot of angles of varying quality heading into Wrestle Kingdom, and much more! DDT is next up with their own last Korakuen of the year on 12/21, as they break down an excellent KO-D title match, ass paint, and more, then discuss the upcoming D-Generations tournament. In NOAH, they review the 12/23 Korakuen featuring an excellent tag match from the juniors and a bunch of other stuff that also existed. Finally, they wrap things up with some Dragongate talk as they review their 12/16 Korakuen, and Arametha gives some interesting thoughts in particular as a longtime puro fan who never really watched DG before this year. Another fun show, and up next we'll be coming live from Japan!Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: http://twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
