In this episode, Ron and Jason shift focus away from wildlife photography and welcome Chris Dickinson, a Western lifestyle photographer, to discuss the heart behind photography and the stories that drive his work. Ron and Jason first met Chris at a pictureline.com PhotoX event and were inspired by his talk. Chris' photography is nearly cinematic, and his ability to capture the emotion of ranch life is breathtaking. In this episode, he breaks down elements of his process when entering a chaotic environment, remaining calm and capturing incredible images that tell the story in almost more detail than what is apparent to the naked eye. Chris and the BTW crew explore the importance of building relationships within the ranching community, the significance of giving back through photography, and share personal outdoor experiences that have shaped their perspectives. Chris emphasizes the emotional connection to ranch life and the value of capturing moments that tell a story while highlighting photographers' need to do good with their craft.Takeaways- Your passion comes through your images.- Ranch life is a broader sense of family to me.- Cattle branding events are a unique sensory experience.- You have to be a self-starter, self-motivator.- There's no happy accidents in great images.- Always do good with your camera.- It's not about you, it's about them.- Building relationships is key in photography.- You have to look at the larger picture.- Do good with your camera, whatever that looks like.Sound Bites"It's not about you, it's about them.""Always do good with your camera.""You done good up there."Chapters01:00 Introduction and Setting the Stage03:55 The Heart of Photography: Chris's Journey07:14 Understanding Ranch Life and Its Stories10:04 The Passion Behind the Lens13:14 Building Relationships in the Ranching Community16:11 Capturing the Essence of Brandings18:49 The Importance of Storytelling in Photography22:07 Navigating Challenges in Ranch Photography24:49 Finding the Picture Within the Picture33:13 Exploring the Art of Photography Retreats39:04 Building Relationships Through Photography42:12 The Importance of Giving Back55:25 Memorable Outdoor Experiences and Cowboy TraditionsChris Dickinson LinksWEB: www.CDPhotog.comIG: @CDPhotog.comThanks for listening to another episode of Beyond the Wild Podcast. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. We'll get into the big events coming up this weekend in a moment, but first... (STINGER: WWE) WWE has lost a top star to a major injury. Bayley will be out of action for approximately 9 months after hurting her knee. WWE said it happened during a training session on Friday. Bayley was set to challenge Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women's Championship in an “I Quit” Match at Money In The Bank. Obviously, that will NOT be happening now. Instead, Belair's title defense will be moved up to next Friday's SmackDown - the first in front of LIVE fans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her challenger will be Carmella. Now...Carmella was set to be in the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. But she's now out of that match and will be replaced by Liv Morgan. The final two entrants in the men's Money In The Bank match were decided on last night's SmackDown. Seth Rollins qualified by pinning a bloodied Cesaro...and Shinsuke Nakamura is also in after he scored another win over Baron Corbin. At least three women from NXT are joining the SmackDown roster. Shotzi Blackheat & Tegan Nox debuted last night - announced simply as “Shotzi & Nox”. They were the surprise opponents for the WWE Women's Tag Champs Natalya & Tamina...and they got the win. Shotzi pinned Natalya after a senton from the top rope. The third call-up is Toni Storm. A hype video last night announced that she's “coming soon”. Jimmy Uso did appear on last night's SmackDown. He and brother Jey took a beating from Edge and the returning Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the end of the show. Jimmy Uso was arrested and charged with D.U.I. earlier this week. A formal arraignment is scheduled for later this month. We now know that WWE's Extreme Rules pay per view will be held on Sunday, September 26th...at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Major League Wrestling is back in front of live fans Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in bucolic and pastoral South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's Battle Riot III. The Battle Riot match is a 40-man battle royal with wrestlers entering in 60-second intervals. Eliminations are by pinfall, submission or going out over the top rope to the floor. The winner gets a shot at the MLW Heavyweight Championship held by Jacob Fatu. Davey Richards is gonna make his MLW debut. He'll compete in the Riot match...and he'll also go one-on-one against TJP. Richard Holliday will defend the Carribean Championship against King Muertes. Cesar Duran - the former Dario Cueto - will be in attendance in Philly. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan confirmed Friday that its Wrestle Grand Slam show in Tokyo Dome will go on as scheduled on Sunday, July 25th...despite a new COVID-19 related state of emergency in Tokyo. The declaration will mean that New Japan will cease ticket sales for the show on July 11th. New Japan's Summer Struggle tour begins Saturday...with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title being defended in the main event. Sunday's show has the tag titles being defended. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA will challenge Taichi & Zach Sabre Jr. Plus, KENTA returns to action. He'll tag with Yujiro Takehashi against Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yota Tsuji. The dream of stepping foot in a NJPW ring became a reality for Chris Dickinson when he made his debut as the surprise new member of Team Filthy on New Japan Strong. A veteran of the independent scene, he has made his mark in recent years competing for the likes of Beyond and GCW, most notably competing against Jon Moxley at Bloodsport in 2020, and now he's finally where he belongs! In this interview, Dickinson discusses his admiration for Japanese wrestling, from the fans to the wrestlers themselves; what the future hopefully holds for him within New Japan, and who he is most eager to step into the ring with; how it felt completing his first tour in Japan in early 2020; the big match against Jon Moxley; his love of music and drumming, and so much more!
