In October 1997, a chilling crime unfolded in Canberra, Australia. Anu Singh, a law student at the Australian National University, drugged her boyfriend Joe Cinque's coffee with Rohypnol at a dinner party. Over the next 36 hours, she injected him with heroin multiple times. Despite his deteriorating condition, she delayed seeking help, and when paramedics arrived, it was too late. Following this case the law changed in the Australian capital territory ending the option of homicide trials being heard by a judge only. In the case of John Doe v. Sean Combs et al., the plaintiff, using the pseudonym "John Doe," alleges that in 2022, during a house party in New York City, he was drugged and sexually assaulted by Sean Combs, also known as "P. Diddy." The plaintiff asserts that he blacked out after being administered Rohypnol and later awoke to find Combs assaulting him, resulting in severe emotional distress. Upon filing the complaint on November 20, 2024, the plaintiff sought permission to proceed anonymously, which the court initially granted temporarily. However, after considering factors such as the sensitivity of the matter, potential harm from disclosure, and public interest, the court denied the plaintiff's renewed motion for anonymity on March 28, 2025. The court emphasized the presumption of open judicial proceedings and determined that the circumstances did not warrant overriding this principle. Consequently, the plaintiff was ordered to disclose his identity for the case to proceed.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.632109.43.0.pdf

In episode 271 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked in with Aaron Pearson. Aaron is the husband of previous guest and Co-Founder of Menstrual Health Project, Gabriella Pearson. Aaron works as an estate planner and as a car salesman and has been with Gabriella for 10 years. Aaron's mental health journey started when he was between seven to 11 or 12-years-old when he was sexually abused and the majority of his mental health difficulties he's experienced in life stem from this moment. Aaron then struggled with alcoholism and drugs from a teenager and also had severe issues with anger, likely stemming from the abuse as well. In Boxing Day 2014, he went away with Gabriella to Brighton to celebrate the day and had his drink spiked by a group of men who offered to buy him a drink. The drink was spiked with a mixture of Rohypnol, ecstasy and rat poison. He had no memory of the night after that moment. When they went back to his hotel, he smashed the room up, high and poisoned. The police were called and he ended up fighting them in his poisoned state and was subsequently arrested and taken to the local police station. Once he was at the police station, he had a seizure and woke up in hospital 12 hours later. He later discovered what he had been spiked with, what had happened and even more alarmingly, he had actually died for four minutes, before being brought back. He woke up in a full body brace, couldn't move his entire body and this was the first time he wasn't in full control of his body or actions. Aaron says this is the moment when his mental health started spiralling. He started speaking to a counsellor and began exploring his anger management issues and his addiction. However, he didn't find counselling helpful and after seeing several therapists, decided to deal with his issues on his own. The alcohol addiction took him to breaking point where it was affecting his friendships, his relationship and people began to avoid social situations with him, because of his unpredictability. He decided to give up drinking for 10 months but then decided he could cope with an occasional drink. As you'd expect, the addiction got even worse. Around the time of the Covid-19 lockdown, he started working from home and had no separation from work and home and became drinking heavily again as well as overeating. Thankfully, he's now over 450 days sober at time of recording, he hasn't touched a drug in over two years. He also hasn't smoked a cigarette in a year and a half. He credits the gym, changing careers and the support of his wife Gabriella as key to his recovery. Since childhood, he has now been diagnosed with a Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) and has self-diagnosed himself with ADHD, after struggling to get assessed through the NHS. Aaron also suspects he has OCD, which we explore. In this episode we chart his journey of trauma, diagnoses and recovery from start to finish and how we better listen to men like Aaron as a society. {Part 2} Re-joining us is our full panel from Part 1, here to discuss some updates in 2024 on the drownings in Lady Bird Lake. Particularly, a survivor Jeff Jones, who sustained life threatening injuries after falling off the bridge, just missing the Shoal Creek. The discovery of Rohypnol in his toxicology report fueled speculation about whether he fell or was pushed. Rather than a targeted serial killer, the group posits that what if these men were not the intended victims. What if there is a conspiracy of drink spiking at the bars? What drug groups should be screened for and how do we better instruct the community to be cautious? Some key issues that were grazed: specialty tests are expensive and are rarely administered in drowning cases. If there is a drugging and/or date rape problem in Austin, there is a need for better toxicology screening and better surveillance for 'hot spots', along with participation from the community and the city on creating more awareness and better safeguards.
Many parents face the dilemma of sending their kids to a secular college or university. These institutions claim to be diverse, equitable, and inclusive, and yet they only present one view on the most salient issues of our day. In this episode, Catherine shares her disconcerting experience at her oldest child's college orientation at a state-funded school. At the student orientation, student leader after student leader after student leader shared their name, their major, and their preferred pronouns. No other political references were made. No other religious beliefs were stated. Yet despite claiming a commitment to rigorous intellectual debate and freedom of thought, this school presented only one view on gender. And while insisting on preparing the next generation to live in the “real world,” university faculty and administrators aren't even preparing kids to live in their “real bodies.” When Catherine discussed this blatant progressive evangelism on the part of the university with other Christians at the orientation, parents just shrugged this indoctrination off as being “the way it is.” When “the way it is” is harming children, we have to speak up. To lay the foundation for this conversation, Catherine explores perspectives on preferred pronouns from both Christian and secular sources. She highlights: Rosaria Butterfield, a former radical lesbian activist turned Christian, who underscores the impact of using preferred pronouns and affirming false ideologies. Preferred pronouns aren't a matter of terminology. They are a matter of ideology. No good can come from affirming a false ideology. The viral cancelled article "Pronouns Are Rohypnol," which sheds light on the perception shifts and safety implications associated with preferred pronouns. The tragic story of Richie Herron, a young man who underwent gender reassignment surgery after being groomed by a gender clinic, who highlights the dangers of promoting gender ideology without recognizing the consequences. These tragic stories begin with a small word—a simple, loving, culturally-approved preferred pronoun. But they end in unfair and unsafe spaces for women and girls, excruciating pain, infertility, butchered bodies, and broken lives. Catherine urges listeners to not remain neutral when it comes to the truth about gender. If our state schools want to claim a standard of diversity, equity, and inclusion, then all views should be represented. They must not claim a DEI standard while practicing uniformity, inequity, and exclusion. The episode culminates with Catherine sharing her open letter to the university, urging them to uphold true diversity by considering all perspectives and challenging the status quo. “A truly valuable education should challenge one's ideology and deeply held convictions, not acquiesce or coddle. Not show favor or bias. Not proudly promote DEI while practicing ideological uniformity, preference, and exclusion. Not embrace bandwagons or reject them without rigorous consideration.” Christian parents must stand firm in their beliefs, resist pressure to conform to harmful ideologies, and speak up. The next generation won't hear the truth about who they are if we don't speak it. True Crime Podcast 2024 - REAL Police Interrogations, 911 Calls, True Police Stories and True Crime
Serial Killer Richard Cottingham (The Times Square Killer) Documentary Cottingham was born in Bronx, New York in 1946, but his family moved to New Jersey when he was 12. He had two younger siblings. His father worked for an insurance company and his mother was a homemaker. His childhood was fairly normal. When his family moved to New Jersey, he entered seventh grade at St. Andrews, where he had trouble making friends since he was new to the area. Because he had poor eyesight, he wasn't good at sports. In high school, where he fit in better, he joined the track team because it allowed him time alone. After graduating, he found work as a computer operator at the insurance company where his father worked and also took computer classes. When he was 20, Cottingham got a job at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association as a computer operator. In 1967, aged 21, Cottingham committed his first murder, fatally strangling a 29-year-old woman, Nancy Vogel, a crime he didn't confess to until 2010. In 1969, he was convicted of drunken driving and was sentenced to a $50 fine and 10 days in jail. At the age of 23, he married. In 1972, he was charged with robbery and sexual assult, but the case was dismissed. During his serial killing years, Cottingham had at least two affairs. In 1979, his wife filed for divorce. For some reason, she withdrew it after his arrest and moved to Poughkeepsie with their children. Killings and Incarceration Cottingham in court. From 1967 to 1980, Cottingham is known to have killed nine females and attempted to kill an additional four, though he has claimed to have killed as many as 100. On the night of December 15, he abducted a 26-year-old nurse named Maryann Carr from the parking lot near her apartment, took her to a motel, tortured and killed her. In March the following year, Cottingham, using the alias "John Schaefer", approached a woman named Karen Schilt in a bar, drugged her, took her to an unknown location, raped her and left her for dead in a sewer near an apartment complex. Because she was found by a hotel employee, she survived, but couldn't remember much useful information about the assault, so the case went cold until Cottingham's arrest. In October, he drugged, sexually assaulted and tried to kill a prostitute named Susan Geiger, who also survived. In the beginning of December of 1979, Cottingham solicited a pair of prostitutes, took them to the Travel Lodge Motor Inn in New York, spent the night torturing, killing and mutilating both of them, removing their heads and hands and taking them with him, and then set the room and the bodies on fire. They were found when the staff saw smoke coming from under the door. Only one of the victims, Deedah Godzari, was identified. The identity of the other remains unknown, though she is estimated to have been in her late teens. In 1980, Cottingham attacked four women within less than three weeks. The first, Valerie Ann Street, was killed in a motel room and burned like the previous two victims. The next, Pamela Weisenfield, survived her attack. On May 15, the burned body of Ann Reyner was found in a hotel room in Manhattan South. She was also burned, but Cottingham didn't remove her head or hands; instead, he cut off both her breasts. On May 22, he solicited a prostitute named Leslie Ann O'Dell and took her to the Quality Inn Motel in Hasbrouck Heights, the same motel to which he had taken Valerie Ann Street and killed her. While he was torturing O'Dell, security staff heard her screams and called the police. When Cottingham tried to run, he was caught by them and arrested. Among his possessions, they found handcuffs, an open roll of duct tape, leather S&M gear, a toy gun, a knife and the drug he had used to incapacitate his victims. During interrogation, Cottingham claimed to have paid O'Dell $180 for sex and that everything he did to her had been consentual. Further investigation connected him to more crimes; his fingerprint was found on a pair of handcuffs found on Valerie Ann Street's crime scene. When the police searched his home, they found mountains of evidence linking him to other murders, such as the key to Mary Ann Carr's apartment, a toy koala bear and a pair of earrings that had belonged to Valerie Ann Street, and jewelry belonging to Deedah Godzari and Ann Reyner. His handwriting also linked him to the motel rooms he had rented and committed the killings inside. The following year, Cottingham was found guilty of 15 of the 20 counts for which he was charged. Over the next three years, he was put on trial for his additional murders and attempted murders. During the proceedings, he attempted suicide twice. In total, he was convicted of five murders (he confessed to Nancy Vogel's murder many years later) and sentenced to hundreds of years in prison, a sentence he is still serving. In 2020, he confessed to three more murders. Modus Operandi Cottingham targeted petite blondes in their late teens-mid-20s and most often prostitutes. He would solicit them somehow, drug them by spiking their drinks with Tuinal (a date rape drug used before Rohypnol became available) in bars and take them somewhere secluded, usually to a motel, where he would bind them, gag them with duct tape, brutally rape, torture and stab them before killing them by strangling them with a ligature. Presumably to make identification harder, he would sometimes cut off their heads and hands and take the parts with him. Among his known methods of torture were severely biting and scratching their nipples, cutting around the breasts and threatening them with a toy gun and leaving it within their reach so they could try to grab it only to discover that it was fake. He would also make his victims call him "master". He took trophies such as jewelry and other personal belongings. After the crimes, he went to great lengths to cover them up, sometimes hiding the bodies in secluded locations or even setting them and the room they were in on fire. Have you ever heard of Rohypnol? In the US, Rohypnol is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance. It functions as a depressant to the central nervous system. It's not manufactured or approved for sale in the US, but it is shipped here from other countries and used illegally. It's similar to Valium, but ten times more powerful. A common name for it on the street is the “forget-me drug”. A more generic term is “roofie” and it's often referred to as the “date rape drug”. In many cases, Rohypnol is secretly put into the drink of an unsuspecting victim. The effects, including drowsiness and loss of memory, are felt within 15 to 20 minutes, and may continue for up to 12 hours. When it's put into a clear drink, it will change the color of the liquid to blue. The color is often masked by serving tropical drinks that are already blue, or by serving the drink in a dark or opaque container. My guest today, Stephanie, was a victim of having her food or a drink spiked with Rohypnol or something similar. But this didn't happen in a bar or a nightclub – it happened in her own home. And the perpetrator was someone she thought she knew. Content warning: this episode contains graphic language, and includes discussion about sexual violence and abortion. Instead, she laced her unsuspecting boyfriend Joe Cinque's coffee with Rohypnol before injecting him with a lethal dose of heroin. Why would Anu want to kill her boyfriend? And why would Anu want to kill herself? Why was she using heroin? And what did Joe do to deserve to die? Was Anu on a psychotic break? Why did she give paramedics the wrong address? Was it pre-mediated murder? And what sentence did Anu end up with? Listen in to find out! Michelle then goes on to discuss the Peru Two, a cautionary tale of how two party girls from Northern Ireland and Scotland in 2013 went from having a fun summer in Ibiza to becoming cartel drugs mules… Who are Michaela McCollum and Melissa Reid? This week the boys take on a serious and difficult subject - roofies aka Rohypnol aka Flunitrazepam and similar drugs. Its become way too common for people to get unknowingly drugged at bars and clubs to the point where it's considered almost "normal" ... just a risk we have to take going out. This shit has to stop! Warning: if you've had bad experiences with people putting drugs like roofies in your drink or similar traumatic experiences, this may be a triggering episode to listen to - suggest skip it.
I am going in a different direction with this episode. The subject is taboo, In fact the information that I'm sharing puts me in a vulnerable position. But, when the light revealed the truth it was a matter of time before my conscience revealed that I had to share this, that I could no longer be silent about my unexplainable encounters, and my research that made it make since. And in this season God revealed that I would use my platform, my podcast to share my story to speak out not just for myself, but for others like me who may have felt confused, embarrassed, or ashamed, and humiliated, maybe even frightened to speak out. The attacker though very little of us, thought that we were idiots, God only know what happened during the period that I was under the influence of Rohypnol, based on its description and effects this is the type of drug that was used, that was deceitfully given to me without my knowledge or consent. I know longer care about what others may think of me, I don't care about being judged for my choices, my mistakes. I only care about sharing my story to enlighten and educate others, in hopes of saving someone from a situation that they may not be strong enough to handle. I thank God for the strength he gives me, I thank God for covering me, his covenant, I thank God for his protection, grace, mercy, wisdom and the gift of discernment that I will never second guess again. This is my story about deceitfully being given a date rape drug. I sincerely hope that this will help you or someone that you love or care about. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have uncovered a hotel in Abuja where drugs are allegedly sold and young ladies camped for commercial sex. At least four persons; three ladies and a man were arrested when the said drug joint, JAT Suites, located at 30 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2 was raided and some quantities of Rohypnol and paraphernalia – for smoking crack cocaine – were recovered on Wednesday 22nd September, 2021.Investigations reveal that the hotel is operated without requisite approvals in a high profile neighborhood and patronised by call girls while the bar serves as the spot to smoke and sell drugs to the young girls and their customers. In a statement on Sunday, the agency's spokesman, Femi Babafemi, explained that the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa has directed the FCT Command and the Directorate of Assets and Financial Investigations of the agency to do all within the law to ensure the property is forfeited to the Federal Government to serve as a deterrent to others who allow their premises to be used for drug dealing.

The effects of Rohypnol may last for up to 12 hours and is detectable through a urine test for up to 72 hours.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/how-long-do-benzodiazepines-stay-in-your-system
Rohypnol alone or with combination with other drugs can lead to serious physical effects such as; respiratory depression, low blood pressure, sedation, headaches, loss of physical coordination, cardiovascular collapse, coma, or even death. It is also possible to get addicted or develop tolerance to Rohypnol, which in turn can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as extreme anxiety, seizures, and hallucinations.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/rohypnol-addiction-and-abuse
Rohypnol is more potent compared to other benzos such as Valium and has a high risk of overdose. When Rohypnol is consumed for nonmedical reasons, there is a high risk of experiencing an overdose.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/rohypnol-addiction-and-abuse
Being a central nervous system depressant when combined with other sedative-hypnotics, Rohypnol can have complicated sedative effects. When Rohypno interacts with a depressant like alcohol, it can lead to severe sedation, blackouts, loss of consciousness, and even respiratory depression. There is a risk of coma, overdose, or death if Rohypnol is mixed with other CNS depressants such as club drugs, alcohol and ketamine.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/rohypnol-addiction-and-abuse
Rohypnol primarily comes in the form of an olive green pill with blue speckles at its core. It used to be a white tablet, but due to it being used as a date rape drug, these changes have been made so the blue interior can dye the light-colored drinks blue. Generic versions of the drug may not incorporate this precaution.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/rohypnol-addiction-and-abuse
When the Rohypnol high wears out, people begin to experience withdrawal symptoms, which are referred to as “comedown effects.” These effects include; muscle pain, restlessness, headache, tension, photosensitivity, irritability, seizures, confusion, numbness, and hallucinations.https://recoverypartnernetwork.com/drug/benzodiazepine/rohypnol-addiction-and-abuse

希望轉檔轉快一點 XD 文章網址: 從Plot開始看。 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hangover To celebrate his upcoming marriage to Tracy, Doug travels to Las Vegas with his best friends Phil and Stu, as well as Tracy's brother Alan, in Doug's future father-in-law Sid's vintage Mercedes-Benz W111. They check into a hotel suite in Caesars Palace, and celebrate with a few drinks on the hotel rooftop. The next morning, Phil, Stu, and Alan awaken to find they have no memory of the previous night. Doug is nowhere to be found, Stu's tooth is missing, the suite is in disarray, a tiger is in their bathroom, a chicken is in their living room, and a baby is in the closet. They see Doug's mattress impaled on a statue outside of Caesars Palace and when they ask for their Mercedes, the valet delivers an LVPD police cruiser. Using clues to retrace their steps, the trio travel to a hospital where they discover they were drugged with Rohypnol, known as roofies, causing their memory loss, and that they went to the hospital from a chapel the previous night. At the chapel, they learn that Stu married a stripper named Jade, despite being in a long-term relationship with his domineering and philandering girlfriend Melissa. Outside the chapel, the trio is attacked by gangsters saying they are looking for someone. They flee and track down Jade. They are then arrested by the police for having stolen a police cruiser. After being told that the Mercedes has been impounded, the trio are released when they unknowingly volunteer to be targets for a taser demonstration. While driving the Mercedes, they discover a naked Chinese man named Mr. Chow in the trunk. Chow jumps out of the trunk, beats the trio up with a crowbar and flees. Alan confesses that he drugged their drinks to ensure they had a good night, believing the drug to be ecstasy. Returning to their suite, they find the boxer Mike Tyson, who orders the trio to return his tiger to his mansion immediately. Stu drugs the tiger, loads it into the Mercedes, and drives towards Tyson's home. However, the tiger awakens midway and attacks them, clawing Phil on the neck and damaging the car's interior. After pushing the car the rest of the way to the mansion, they deliver the tiger to Tyson. While driving back, their car is intentionally t-boned by a black Cadillac Escalade. The passengers are revealed to be the gangsters from the chapel, and their boss Chow. Chow accuses the trio of kidnapping him and stealing $80,000 in poker chips. As the trio denies this, Chow tells them he has Doug, and threatens to kill him if it is not returned. Unable to find Chow's $80,000, Alan, with help from Stu and Jade, uses his knowledge of card counting to win $82,400 playing blackjack. The next morning, they meet with Chow in the desert and exchange the chips for Doug, only to find this Doug is the black drug dealer who accidentally sold Alan the roofies. With Doug's wedding set to occur in five hours, Phil calls Tracy to tell her that they cannot find Doug. Meanwhile, in discussion with Stu, "Black Doug" mentions that someone that takes roofies is more likely to end up on the floor than on the roof; Stu suddenly realizes where Doug is before Phil can reveal Doug's disappearance to Tracy. The trio travels back to Caesars Palace where they find a dazed and sunburned Doug on the roof. They realize that they had moved him there on his mattress the previous night as a practical joke but immediately forgot when the roofies wore off. Doug had thrown the mattress onto the statue in an attempt to signal help. Before leaving, Stu makes arrangements to go on a date with Jade the following week. With no flights available back to Los Angeles, the four quickly drive home to make the wedding. Despite their late arrival, Doug and Tracy are married. At the wedding, Stu angrily breaks up with Melissa, having grown tired of her personality. As the reception ends, Alan finds Stu's digital camera containing photos of the events from the night in Las Vegas, and the four agree to look at the pictures together before deleting them Powered by Firstory Hosting

Reviews from Season 1: "What Grit Sounds Like — The old saying goes, 'history is written by the winners.' It's true. But sometimes survivors and over-comers share their stories too. Here is a series, not just one memory, knitted through the life of an individual who's striven for much, gained plenty, but at every turn "shouldn't have" made it. She did. Now she's sharing. The arc is brilliant, the questioning in-depth while...concise..., all pieces relevant for those with ears willing to hear."—Jwatters777"Moving and great fun — Amazing (but true) stories from Kiki's life told with style, drama, and humor. On this episode of The Average AF Podcast, we talk a lot about things that have disappointed us this week, including the new Jay Electronica album and the Netflix documentary, Tiger King. We tried to throw some positivity into this episode as well, but we just didn't understand the hype around these two things. In my humble opinion, the best things about Tiger King are the memes and phrases that came out of it... But, as always, give us your feedback as well, because we definitely want to hear it! The 60 minute uninterrupted full-on entire helping of The Adrian & Tony Radio Show I by Amplevoicepod, the oddcasters. Is the apocalypse now? A disastrous one hour radio show from Amplevoicepod starring DJ Adrian Byrne and producer Tony Wilson (the 'ATRS') finds out. There's something going on in Yellowstone Park in the USA, strange sounds abound in the sky and Tony is sent out to do a 'voxpop on the streets' to see if the world is really ending. Special studio guest is the ATRS 'resident astrological expert'; famed astro-cosmologist Fabian Mortimer who presents Adrian with stunning new evidence from his Guatemalan jungle trip with Rodrigo. He discovered a Mayan hieroglyphic stone and makes a fateful revelation live via Skype! Just what is it? It's pretty seriously ominous... with the shocking pronouncement that baked beans are the ideal gift for the one you love. Back in the studio DJ Adgeen meets the 'extinction event' guest himself, the ATRS 'resident professor'; the flared nostrils of Professor Mick Chiselton. They talk of which ways we could be wiped out; a deep space impact, a solar storm, planet X, the magnetic pole shifting or nuclear war? Which one would you like? Probably the one where our own stupidity does us in, as is evident. There are "flummications all around!" Adrian forewarns us that he'll speak with resident Agronomist Bert Kavanagh on the phone but first: "what does the big G dog make of it all. On the Telephone here to tell us how religion has foretold the end of the world is the Reverend Jagros." Rev. Jagros: "God bless you Adrian. The Bible has foretold the end of the world. It is not too late for you or your listeners to repent and save your souls before Judgement day. For it is now the time of the second coming as foretold in the scriptures." Adrian: "So JC is going to ride down from the heavens any second now on a glowing white horse." Rev. Jagros: "Ah you rib me gently man, but soon you too will see the truth. As a young lad at bedtime my mother would read to me from the scriptures so I know the Lords arrival will be preceded by times of great trials for us all. Look at us now Adrian in the midst of a great recession. Our people our suffering, suffering! All of us yeah we are suffering. The signs are all there. All over the world there is wars and famine. But we look away, immerse ourselves in the X-Factor. But Cowell he is the false prophet, that's not real music the Rohypnol for the minds of the masses. He distracts us from the genocide and murders of children in the name of false gods. He wants us to value money and the easy life, the comfortable material life and stick our heads in the sand, because the bad stuff only happens far far away. Hearts are hardening, people are selfish and it is now cool to say God does not exist like the Dawkins, the Hitchens & Jonathan Somebody! These people even feel intellectually superior...." "BUT THE RAPTURE IS COMING ADRIAN!" Later special phone-in guest is Imogen Telch from the organisation 'Countdown Underway No Tomorrow', telling Adrian of her plans to leave Earth before the coming end of humanity. As the end of the world approaches ever sooner, Lorna interrupts Adrian in the radio studio to link back up with producer Tony Wilson who is still out on the streets 'facing the end times'... Then this deliriously deceptive denouement of a truly disastrous one hour radio show from Amplevoicepod arrives. Fabian Mortimer beetles his way back to studio to comfort a distraught Adrian. "It... It seems to be really happening. The knock on effect from Yellowstone Park is being felt globally. There are scenes of chaos and carnage on the news coming in from all four corners of our planet. I can…. barely believe it… I suppose I should just go to the phone lines now and get some of the reaction out there. God help us all. I’m being told we have a farmer local to County Wicklow in Ireland which is where we are, who wishes to remain anonymous on the line. What's happening sir?" ATRS I is an Amplevoicepod production.
We are 5 deep in this episode! Miguel and Sammy join us as we talk about living in Japan, and is Crossfit better than Body Building. Of course Tim and Winston bring up the subject on Rohypnol also known as Roofies. it definitely gets crazy from there!
The idea behind pretty much every bar is essentially the same: Create an enjoyable environment for people to come have drinks or food. This is our business. Maybe some bars don't play the music you like, some bars don't serve the food you like, some bars don't play the sports games you like, it's impossible to please everyone all the time, of course, but the idea is still pretty much the same. Unfortunately, sometimes guests have a different idea of what the bar is supposed to be. Some people go to bars to start fights and act out their aggression, some people go to bars to coerce women and men into having sex with them and some people use our bars as a platform to push their political agenda. This is an unfortunate reality that bartenders sometimes have to deal with, and in certain certain markets like Uptown Oakland, Calif., violence is commonplace. My guest today is Nate Olson. He's worked behind the bar for two decades all across the country: in Minneapolis, Miami, New Orleans and the San Francisco Bay Area. Nate currently manages a lovely Italian restaurant in Oakland called Lungomare. Nate has seen some shit during his tenure, he's had to deal with violence towards himself, his coworkers and between customers. He was managing Oakland's Make Westing bar during the incident last July that involved death threats, Proud Boys, riot police and protesters. We will dive more into this incident and other violent situations after the break. It is unfortunate and sad that acts of violence sometimes happen at our bars, and it's extremely hard to know what to do. Every situation is different, but hopefully if we hear more about what others have done in the past, we will be able to handle these situations better in the future. Nate had a lot of great advice about what worked for him and what he would do differently. Check out my interview with Nate in the player below, on this page or wherever podcasts are found. Honestly, I'm not an expert on violent situations and I've been fortunate myself to not be involved in very many. Every situation is totally different, which makes it so hard to know what to do. Experience helps, of course, but if the situation turns violent, it could be your last experience. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 138 fatalities in our industry in 2017. Many of those were the result of violence. Just a few weeks ago, four people were shot inside of the Halftime Sports Bar in downtown Oakland. My hope is that by learning from the experience of others we can better handle these situations ourselves, or even prevent them from happening altogether. Nate shared his experiences with some pretty traumatic violence. I want to get into these specific events a little bit more here. Date rape drugs and how to spot the signs Ambien, a prescription sleep aid, is one of the most common date rape drugs mixed with alcohol. Photo: WebMD Alcohol is the most common date rape drug. It lowers inhibitions, reduces coordination and makes people do stupid things. Alcohol is our business though, and most of us are pretty well aware of its affects and how to be safe about serving it. We know what to look out for when it comes to alcohol, but when alcohol is mixed with other drugs, things can get dangerous. A variety of different drugs are used in these situations and they come in different forms. Zolpidem, the sleep aid drug known as Ambien is the most common, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Other drugs, including various benzodiazepines like Valium and Xanex, Rohypnol, and GHB and its derivatives have also been well documented. All of these drugs cause severe reactions when mixed with alcohol, including severe loss of coordination, inhibition, short term memory loss and in high enough doses, heart and respiratory failure. Nate spoke about a situation involving date rape drugs that he experienced while managing Make Westing. "A woman was totally fine, talking with me,
Rohypnol. GHB. Ketamine. Crushed sleeping pills. Alcohol itself. Author and former criminal justice professor Dr. Pamela Donovan and Lee talk about the history, properties, and misconceptions of so-called 'date rape' drugs along with the creeps who employ them to take advantage of vulnerable people. 'Spiked!' culminates in an analysis of the Bill Cosby case and somnophilia: the sexual attraction to someone who is sleeping or unconscious. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

He chats openly and honestly about self-doubt and writing for the purpose of understanding others and their perspectives. We talk about moral ambiguities, authenticity and the impact of social media on what it means to be human. The novel brings forth so many questions about the meaning of our lives. ONE is a thought provoking novel that asks questions about obsession, mental health and how far we go for love. It is also about retribution and the consequences we face when we wrong others. A dark novel that traces the story of a young man trapped in a muddled dreamlike existence, as he attempts to unravel his past and his present. Such a wonderful chat!

"Whatever blows can be sucked." Not The Creature From The Pit this time but a story which could be said, in American vernacular, both to 'blow' and to 'suck'. It's Underworld - a production so maligned that even most of the sets refused to participate. A CSO mother lode in which Minyans are led by Minions, the proletariat dine on the very rock they mine and gravity does precisely whatever the hell it likes. Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow gets a drastic makeover, Mr Dors takes it lying down and Leela takes a fancy to a bit-part with a Rohypnol ray. Chuck in some deaf-blind guards, hordes of bored extras and some rather louche lift music and it really does feel like we're descending to rock bottom. So 'the quest is the quest' but will Jim and Martin see Underworld as a golden moment in Who mythology or will they end up feeling fleeced? Listen in to find out.

In a Limited Appeal first, we spend the entire episode this week dealing with our mail sack, overflowing with a single mail from Louie Lawent, author of "The Louie/God Interviews (What The Big Fella Really Thinks About Man And The Universe)." He has suggested that we feature snippets from his book on our show, so we do. Are people really like radio songs? If you've also wondered this, could you please fucking explain it to me, because I don't get it. I'm not sure if our conversation will provide Louie with the kind of "boost" he is after; judge for yourself whether our promo credentials are well justified. If you have a book you would like us to promote, send us an email (maskedman@limitedappeal.net) containing a few quotations of your choosing, and we promise that we may or may not read and/or deride it and/or suggest more toastlike versions of it in an episode.
