Welcome back to ask uncut where we answer your deep and burning questions. There are two types of people in the world - the ones who shut down their laptop and the ones who never, ever, ever do unless it runs out of battery. Further on this path, are you the type of person who has an ‘order’ that you like your tabs to be in? Vibes and unsubscribes for the week: Laura - Christmas trivia Keeshia - @scotteeisfat Britt - Allison after NXIVM from Uncover Podcast Then we jump into your questions! IS TAKING FOOD HOME FROM A DINNER PARTY RUDE?I’d love your thoughts on something that happened at my annual Potluck-Style Movie Night and Dinner Party. I host this every year for 6–8 friends, and I usually provide homemade pizzas, drinks, and an appetiser. Everyone else brings a small dish or extra snacks for the movie. This year, one friend brought cheeses and crackers and told us to keep the leftovers—great! But at the end of the night, another couple (two of my closest friends) went into the fridge, took back the drinks they brought, and packed up the dessert they had made. Here’s the question: What’s the etiquette for a potluck-style dinner party? Is it rude to take home what you brought, or is that perfectly okay? For context, this couple is extremely wealthy—but maybe that doesn’t matter? I’d love to hear your take on this. Am I overthinking it, or is this a social faux pas. I WANT SOMETHING BACK FROM MY EXLadies, I am in a little pickle-dickle and would love your thoughts on the route forward. Now, for context, I am a solo Mama that has recently ended a 3 year relationship with a solo Dad. We both have children of ages sentient enough to feel a loss here, so this was a well-thought through decision on my part, based on repeated avoidant patterns and lack of communication. He did not take it well and proceeded to block all communication herein. No worries, his prerogative. My conundrum is that he has a few things of mine I would like back, including a brand new motorcycle helmet I know he was envious of and is likely now using for himself and my 8 y/o’s scooter. I cannot contact him at all as far as I understand. My daughter’s father, with whom I have an excellent relationship with, has offered to message him to collect it... However I feel that looks really petty and like I am pitting two burly dudes against each other so I politely declined. His wife also offered to reach out....again, I don’t feel great about asking someone else to do my dirty-work. What would you do? Snail mail? Show up unannounced (which I do not feel particularly safe about doing…so that is all but off the table), message one of his family members? Or cut my losses…even though I hate the fact he is very likely wearing my shiny-new helmet and giving his kids my daughter’s electric scooter. DO I BLOW UP MY LIFE? If you had a family that you didn’t know existed, would you want them to contact you? Genuinely, would you want your life as you know it to change forever or would you want it to remain as is? I’m grappling with this and want to hear as many perspectives as possible. John Rich kicks things off with explosive dinner party drama, calling out Lindsey Graham to his face in front of Trump – who later called it one of the most hilarious takedowns he's ever seen. From there, he and Tomi rip into fake Republicans, what happens when conservatives stay home if Trump's not on the ballot, the outrage of U.S. service members watching Afghan nationals flood into America, and the threat of A.I. taking over music. John also breaks down his new song “The Righteous Hunter” and how it's fueling a cultural war against child predators. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Molly, Kate, Kristin and Andrea get together to discuss the new trend towards entertaining cookbooks; what they are, what they need and what problem they can solve. The hosts discuss some standouts, how they personally use them and what they hope to see in future iterations. While this genre can tend towards the aspirational, there are a few on the market that highlight the more practical aspects of hosting and attending get-togethers. This week's passage features an awkward dinner party when an uninvited guest makes makes her way there. We explore the significance of the table for each of the characters in our story. The way of Jesus proposes the table is a place of transformation, where we experience the forgiveness and love of Jesus in the presence of others and where we can be challenged to face our own self righteousness, softening into mercy and grace. This message is from our Sunday morning service on November 2nd, 2025.We meet at The Simon (957 Main St., Louisville, CO 80027) on Sunday mornings at 10am.Connect with us:kindredchurch.co@kindredchurch.cofacebook.com/kindredchurch.co
Have you ever noticed how nobody has dinner parties any more? They were all the rage back in the 90s. Now it's all DoorDash and taco trucks. Also instead of wearing fur and feathers, rich people are wearing outfits that look like something from Fallout. Where did society go so wrong? We'll tell you one place it didn't go wrong: the POW/MIA Riders Association, recovering soldiers or their remains from overseas after having gone missing. It's a more worthy use of $6,000 than the ugliest outfit you've ever seen.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
For 20 years, the Emmy- and James Beard-award winning show “Check, Please! Bay Area” has brought together local diners to kibbitz about their favorite restaurants. The concept is simple: three locals each recommend a restaurant, everyone tries the places out, and they meet for a spirited conversation about what they liked, what they loved, and what they could do without. The restaurants reviewed range from mom and pop shops to Michelin-award winning, but one thing they all have in common is at least one passionate fan. “Check, Please! Bay Area” host Leslie Sbrocco and producer Lori Halloran join us to talk about the imprint the show has made on local dining over the last two decades. Guests: Leslie Sbrocco, host, "Check Please! Building Authentic Connections: Daniel Andrews on Friendship, Hospitality, and Low-Barrier NetworkingIn this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, host Josh Elledge talks with Daniel Andrews, serial entrepreneur, connector, and mentor, about transforming both personal and professional relationships through authenticity and intentional hospitality. Daniel shares how small, simple actions—like inviting people over for dinner or scheduling short, genuine networking calls—can create powerful, lasting connections. His approach replaces the pressure of traditional networking with openness, generosity, and genuine curiosity, helping people connect more meaningfully in an increasingly digital world.Building Relationships Through Simplicity and HospitalityDaniel Andrews believes that hospitality is not about perfection but presence—making people feel seen, valued, and welcomed. He and his wife regularly host dinners to strengthen friendships, emphasizing that consistency and simplicity make connection sustainable. Whether in business or personal life, Daniel says hospitality creates space for trust, conversation, and belonging.Beyond hosting, Daniel encourages using technology to remove barriers to connection. He creatively uses Calendly for dinner invites, allowing friends to pick a convenient date and eliminating the friction of group planning. His philosophy: make it easy for people to say “yes” by lowering the stakes and setting clear expectations.Daniel also applies these principles to business networking. Instead of formal sales meetings, he prefers 20-minute, no-pressure “get-to-know-you” calls that prioritize relationship-building over pitching. He calls introductions the “currency of trust,” explaining that when you thoughtfully connect two people, you share your credibility and strengthen all three relationships. For Daniel, connection is not about collecting contacts—it's about building a network of genuine, mutually beneficial relationships.About Daniel AndrewsDaniel Andrews is a seasoned entrepreneur, mentor, and relationship builder who champions authentic connection in both business and life. Known for his thoughtful approach to hospitality and low-barrier networking, Daniel has helped countless leaders and entrepreneurs strengthen relationships, expand their communities, and find deeper fulfillment through intentional connection.Links Mentioned in This EpisodeDaniel Andrews on LinkedInKey Episode HighlightsHospitality is about presence, not perfectionUse simple tools like Calendly to make invitations and connections effortlessBoundaries make connection easier, not harderReplace transactional networking with short, intentional conversationsThoughtful introductions build credibility and long-term trustConsistency and low-pressure gatherings are key to lasting relationshipsConclusionDaniel Andrews reminds us that meaningful connection doesn't require grand gestures—it starts with small acts of intentionality. By simplifying invitations, embracing hospitality, and focusing on authenticity over perfection, we can nurture relationships that enrich both business and life. Genuine networking isn't about volume; it's about trust, presence, and care.

Send us a textRHOSLC-Whitney's Psychic CircusPodcast Summary: RHOSLC S6 E5 – “The Salt Lake City Soup Man”Whitney kicks off the episode planning a “love, laughter, and wine” girls' day—complete with psychic readings and bad singing. The ladies gather at a venue Mary immediately declares cursed (“bad juju” — a murder-suicide happened there). The party's garden theme quickly clashes with everyone's chaotic fashion choices—Mary even says Meredith looks like “a walking virus.”Lisa arrives in silk pajamas clutching a manila envelope, prepared for drama. Meredith confronts her about rumors Lisa allegedly tried to spread via Angie, which sparks another round of yelling between Lisa and Angie. Mary, as usual, spectates with biting commentary and refuses the salmon tartare (“I'm not eating parasites, little salmon babies in my belly!”).Whitney's “surprise guest” psychic, Terrence Turner, gives the women a series of emotional readings—Brittany about her distant daughter, Bronwyn about her mother's health, and Lisa about her strained marriage. Meanwhile, Angie and Lisa's fight escalates into an epic insult exchange, culminating in Angie threatening to pull Lisa's ears back “further than her facelift,” and Lisa firing back with “What about Soup Man, bitch?”—leaving everyone utterly confused. The chaos continues as Angie throws a toy horse, Mary storms off, and Whitney gets a warning from the psychic to “watch out for a snake” in her friend group. By the end, Lisa cries, Whitney reflects, and no one knows who (or what) the “Soup Man” really is.WWHL: Whitney appears with Lukas Gage and reveals she lost over $500K in Wild Rose Beauty but insists she'll be fine. Andy praises her honesty this season. When asked who started the latest feud—Whitney says flatly, “Lisa.”Support the showhttps://www.wewinewhenever.com/
