Sphere-life has begun YFT fam! This week Brandi is in Vegas broadcasting from a place called ‘Mormon House' - just down the road from a real Mormon temple which according to Bran might be the most beautiful building ever AND the most judge-y all in one. This of course leads to an epic debate: is having a 'Mormon Face' all about natural glow or just…genetics on repeat? Meanwhile, Wells is no longer sweating it out in Costa Rica—Bachelor in Paradise has wrapped production, and your guy has some big cinematic promises for the new season. Instead he's in French Lick, Indiana, because why would you not want to go to a place called French Lick?? The bumper stickers alone would be worth the price of the plane ticket. Brandi details out the highs and lows of her first two shows at The Sphere - lost gear, USPS heroics and Kenny Chesney hittin all the right notes. What's not to love? Lastly, your hosts ask if the YFT fam has ever had to bend the truth in the name of a good story? Tell us yours in the VM's and comments y'all, we wanna hear them! Timestamp to get straight to the case: (5:38) In 2008, Irish man Jason Corbett placed an ad for an au-pair to assist him in raising his two young children Sarah and Jack. Jason's first wife Margaret had passed suddenly in 2006, leaving him widowed with two small children. American woman Molly Martens answered the ad. She moved from her Tennessee home to Limerick, Ireland to live with the Corbett family. Molly and Jason fell in love and decided to move back to America to get married and settle. Their marriage soon soured - Jason was resistant to Molly adopting his children. Molly would regularly make comments about Jason's weight. One night in August 2015, Molly's father Tom was staying with the family in the Corbett home. He called 911 and reported that there had been an altercation at the home and he had acted in self-defense. When authorities arrived, Jason was pronounced dead. In 2017, Molly and Tom ended up being convicted of Jason's murder. In 2023, they both took plea deals in the case and were resentenced. They were freed from prison in 2024. This case is in the media again due to the new Netflix documentary titled ‘ A Deadly American Marriage.' I'm joined by the brilliant and beautifully honest Dr. Heather Thompson Day for a conversation on spiritual wrestling. Heather's latest book, What If I'm Wrong? Navigating the Waves of Fear and Failure explores what happens when the faith you once relied on starts to unravel. Heather shares openly about her father's battle with Alzheimer's, the spiritual crisis it triggered, and the years she spent in what she calls “spiritual drowning.” We talk about attachment, disappointment, failure, and the unexpected ways God shows up when everything else is falling apart. This conversation is a powerful example of how doubt and faith can co-exist. If you've ever wondered whether you're allowed to question your faith—or felt like you were losing your grip on God—this episode is for you. We explore: What happens when the God you believed in no longer matches your reality How therapy helped Heather not just psychologically but spiritually Why what feels like failure may be something deeper—and more redemptive The unexpected miracle Heather experienced at the end of her long season of doubt This isn't a story of tidy answers. It's a story of holding on, even when you're not sure what you're holding onto.

When Henrietta Lacks discovered a tumor inside of her in 1951, she turned to Johns Hopkins Medical Center for help. They examined her cells and discovered two things: First, she had cervical cancer. And second, her cells, for reasons we still can't explain, multiplied at astonishing rates, allowing doctors and pharmaceutical companies to use them to conduct all sorts of valuable research. Without Lacks knowledge or consent, her cells have been used to do amazing things, like create vaccinations for polio and HPV. But her case is most noteworthy for the ethical questions it forced us to face regarding medical consent, particularly within marginalized communities. What if your most distressing thoughts aren't who you are—but a signal pointing to pain that needs healing? Therapist and author Monica DiCristina joins me to talk about the deeper emotional and spiritual wounds that often lie beneath distressing thoughts. Monica shares her personal journey with trauma-related intrusive thoughts and the power of finally naming what hurt. We also explore what to do when intrusive thoughts show up in our inner worlds, how to seek the right kind of support, and why healing always starts with curiosity rather than shame. As moms, summer can feel like both a dream and a juggling act. We want to make magical memories for our families… but we also crave order, rest, and a little bit of time for ourselves. So, how do we actually find balance in the chaos of summer break? In this episode, I'm joined by Jenny Layton—professional organizer, time management coach, and mom of five—who shares a beautifully simple framework that will change the way you think about your summer rhythm. Jenny introduces the idea of “family and personal seasons” and helps us understand how to honor the season we're in, while still making space for what we need as women. In this conversation, we explore: ✨ Why summer feels so overwhelming—and how to shift your expectations ✨ How to embrace the season of family life without losing yourself in it ✨ Why even a small “dot of personal time” can restore your sense of peace ✨ How to help your kids learn to rebalance themselves when they're bored or off-track Whether you're a full-time stay-at-home mom, a working mom, or somewhere in between, this episode will help you create a summer that feels more aligned, more joyful, and more you. For full show notes, including takeaways, click here. *** Announcements: Don't miss the free PDF bundle Jenny created for our listeners—including a printable yin-yang graphic, an “Are You Bored?” checklist for kids, and a list of age-appropriate life skills to teach your children over the summer. As parents we have a lot of power over the lens that we bring to each parenting situation, each crisis, each potential frustration. But there is one specific thing as parents that we should try to see, something that's beyond just the good in things.
This season of life, as exhausting and relentless as it feels, is also fleeting.

As American journalists worked to cover the Vietnam War, one of their colleagues proved a valuable asset: Pham Xuan An had been born in Vietnam, and was therefore able to help his coworkers navigate the ins and outs of an unfamiliar culture. His work was praised as detailed, empathetic and unbiased. It would be years later that the truth finally came out, revealing that the journalist was in fact a South Vietnamese spy whose access to top-ranking military briefings helped ensure thousands of American deaths during the conflict. We wear any number of masks—one that covers up our pain, our fears, our doubts, perhaps even one that displays the person that we truly are.
In this profound episode, I channel messages from Dee's departed parents and mother-in-law, revealing how they've guided her to heal generational wounds and break toxic family cycles. Together, we explore afterlife apologies for childhood pain, sudden losses (like her mother-in-law's rapid passing), and how pets became unexpected messengers from spirit.
