New Podcast with Actor Angel Parker! In this episode of "Kahnversations," we interview Angel Parker. Sophisticated, hard-working, and an undeniable talent, Angel has brought to life some of the most dynamic and diverse characters on screen today. She was most recently seen starring on FX’s critically acclaimed Emmy Award winning series THE PEOPLE V. OJ SIMPSON: AMERICAN CRIME STORY. Angel was a scene stealer as famed celebrity attorney Shawn Chapman, one of Simpson’s “Dream Team” lawyers. Angel can be seen recurring on NBC’s highly anticipated series TRIAL & ERROR, opposite John Lithgow. TRIAL & ERROR takes a comedic turn on a murder trial similar to the recent documentary, MAKING A MURDERER. Angel joins the cast as Heidi Baker, a perky Carolina newscaster who is following the Larry Henderson [Lithgow] murder case and reports on the case’s many unexpected twists and turns. The series premiered on March 14, 2017. Angel can also be seen recurring on BET’s REBEL, which follows Rebecca “Rebel” Cole (Danielle Moné Truitt), a diligent African-American police officer turned rogue private investigator after her brother is slain by the police. Angel plays Stella Parker, Rebel’s union-appointed attorney who tries to do her best “lawyering” when Internal Affairs is tasked with investigating Rebel’s shooting of a fellow officer. In addition, Angel will recur as Alex Green on the final season of FX’s horror series, THE STRAIN, airing later in 2017. Angel has already been cast as Catherine Wilder in Marvel’s RUNAWAYS, which will air on HULU in 2018. Angel’s first acting gig was on Joss Whedon’s television show ANGEL. Since then, she has appeared on some of the most buzzed about series including: ER, CASTLE, CRIMINAL MINDS, THE CLOSER, THE SOUL MAN, and SEAN SAVES THE WORLD. Angel is also well known for her role as the intrepid and vivacious Tasha Davenport on five seasons of Disney XD’s live-action comedy series LAB RATS. At only 16 years old, Angel was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. There, she immersed herself in performing, and went on to study Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy; work with the Independent Shakespeare Company, Will & Company; and perform with The Blank Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival for more than 10 years. She continues to hone her craft at Lesly Kahn & Co., where she is a proud member of the professional class and serves on the faculty. Angel currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. You can download or subscribe to the podcast for FREE by clicking below. If you like “Kahnversations,” please leave a rating or review on our iTunes page! There are so many inspiring podcasts with fabulous stars out there. But their careers feel light years away from ours, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be great to hear from the guy who just booked his first pilot? Or the kid finally doing a studio pic after a bunch of low budget indies? Or the woman who’s been a series regular a few times but is only now becoming a name? What about the guy who’s been on a show for years and you know his face but what’shisnameagain? Or that actress who is now a freakin’ showrunner???? How’d THEY do it, right? How did they transition from relative obscurity, bartending and bottle service, to buying that house in Brentwood? We’re producing “Kahnversations,” a podcast that provides access to THOSE people -- your immediate predecessors -- so that you can learn from them while their battle scars are still fresh. In “Kahnversations,” our own Ryan Bailey interviews some of Lesly Kahn & Company’s working actors, directors, and writers in order to learn how they got started in Hollywood, the challenges and hurdles they faced, and how they overcame the odds. (They also dish out some crazy stories!) Listen in and enjoy as these entertainers speak candidly about their paths, processes, and experiences. You might even hear a bit about how Lesly and the Kahnstitute have influenced and shaped their careers.
