Luckin Coffee is a massive concept based in China that is widely regarded as Starbucks' chief global rival, although it just recently arrived in the United States. Pat Cobe, senior menu editor of Restaurant Business and co-host of Menu Talk, checked out one of the two New York locations, ordered a pineapple-and-coconut drink, and gave her impressions of the place: The drink was tasty, and the venue was small and takeout-focused.Co-host Bret Thorn, senior food & beverage editor of Nation's Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality, also had a busy week of trying food and beverage, including participating in a pastrami taste test.David Burke, celebrity chef and inventor many years ago of salmon pastrami, has a new traditional pastrami at his restaurant Park Avenue Kitchen. He thought it was pretty good, so he invited restaurateurs, food writers, including Bret, influencers, etc. to come to the restaurant and do a blind tasting against the big-name NYC pastrami purveyors, including Sarge's, 2nd Avenue Deli, Katz's, and Carnegie Deli.Whose pastrami won? Listen to this week's podcast and find out.And also listen to Bret's interview with Tyler Florence, chef-owner of Wayfare Tavern, which recently relocated in San Francisco, and Miller & Lux, with locations in San Francisco and Hawaii. Florence shares his thoughts on the post-pandemic evolution of San Francisco, and why he limits his own celebrity chef persona at his restaurants.

Bible Reading: Psalm 19:7-11As Ryder and Zach set plates and forks on the table for lunch, a dog started barking outside. "There goes Sarge again," said Ryder. "He's always barking.""This bark sounds different than usual," said Mom. "Maybe one of you boys should go check it out.""Aw, Mom, we're busy," said Zach. "Besides, Sarge barks at everything--squirrels, people, cars. You name it, he barks at it." Since Mom didn't insist, no one checked to see why Sarge was barking. When Zach and Ryder went out to ride their bikes later that afternoon, they stopped and stared at the empty garage. "Where are our bikes?" asked Zach. "I don't believe it!" cried Ryder. "They're gone! Who would have the nerve to come into our garage in broad daylight and take our bikes right out from under our noses?""After all the work we did mowing lawns to buy those bikes," said Zach. "Now this!" The boys rushed into the house. "Our new bikes are gone! Someone stole them!" Everyone hurried out to see for themselves.Dad returned to the house to call the police department and report the loss. When he came back outside, he stopped to pet Sarge. "Didn't we hear Sarge barking a couple hours ago?" he asked. "He was trying to warn us, and we didn't listen to him."That evening Dad read aloud from Psalm 19. "Warnings are important," he said after he finished reading. "Today Mom warned you boys not to ignore Sarge's barking, but you did. Sarge was warning us about the bikes getting stolen, but we didn't listen. In this psalm, we see that God speaks through His Word not only to teach us about who He is and how much He loves us, but also to warn us about sin." "You mean how sin separates us from God, and only Jesus can free us from sin and give us eternal life?" asked Zach. Dad nodded. "Yes, the Bible definitely warns us about sin in that way. But it also warns those who already trust in Jesus about the consequences of sin and how disobeying God can create huge messes in our lives. Let's be sure to listen, knowing that Jesus will always forgive our wrongs and help us obey Him." –Evelyn J. Behrens How About You?Do you take warnings seriously? God warns Christians about the dangers of sin in the Bible. Listen to Him and obey His commands. Is God warning you about something today? If you think He is, pray and ask God to help you know what action to take, and get advice from an adult you trust. God's warnings are one of the ways He helps you and guides you through life.Today's Key Verse:His teachings warn his servants, and good things come to those who obey them. (ERV) (Psalm 19:11)Today's Key Thought:Pay attention to God's warnings
For tonight's episode, we meet Sarge in Idaho. Sarge brings us a firsthand account that has stayed under wraps for far too long. Picture this: a quiet spring night in 2010 at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota—a critical hub for nuclear security. Out of nowhere, UFOs appear—silent, precise, and unlike anything witnesses had ever seen before. These crafts maneuver over the base for exactly one hour, silently observing before vanishing into the night sky. But the story doesn't end there. The very next night, a large reconnaissance plane appears, circling the base at the exact same time the UFOs had the night before. It lingers for several hours before disappearing without a trace. We'll hear from Sarge, who was on duty that night and was one of multiple witnesses to this extraordinary event. And there's more—back in October 1968, at the same Air Force base, ground-based personnel reported seeing a glowing object hovering near the missile sites. It was described as extremely bright, with rapidly shifting colors. A B-52 bomber crew returning to base that night also reported visual contact with a similar object. The incident was investigated under Project Blue Book, the official U.S. Air Force program tasked with evaluating UFO reports.More information on this episode on the podcast website:https://ufochroniclespodcast.com/ep-330-the-minot-encounter-one-hour-of-silence/If you enjoy this podcast, please support the show with a virtual coffee:https://ko-fi.com/ufochroniclespodcastFollow and Subscribe on X to get ad free episodesX: https://x.com/UFOchronpodcast/Want to share your encounter on the show?Email: UFOChronicles@gmail.comOr Fill out Guest Form:https://forms.gle/uGQ8PTVRkcjy4nxS7Podcast Merchandise:https://www.teepublic.com/user/ufo-chronicles-podcastHelp Support UFO CHRONICLES by becoming a Patron:https://patreon.com/UFOChroniclespodcastAll Links for Podcast:https://linktr.ee/UFOChroniclesPodcastThank you for listening!Like share and subscribe it really helps me when people share the show on social media, it means we can reach more people and more witnesses and without your amazing support, it wouldn't be possible.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/ufo-chronicles-podcast--3395068/support.

Welcome to Reel Britannia-a very British podcast about very British movies ...with just a hint of professionalism. And a huge welcome to Hal, contributer of wonderful reviews at the official Talking Pictures Podcast as well as host of his very own show Couple Indemnity. Back to 1965 this week and a hilarious crime caper featuring a host of well known and well loved British comedy stars The Big Job (1965) Get ready for a cheeky caper full of wit, charm, and some truly hapless criminal antics! The Big Job is a delightful 1965 British comedy about a gang of bumbling bank robbers, led by the lovable but inept George the Brain (played by Sid James). When their heist goes hilariously awry, the crew ends up stashing their loot in the hollow of a tree, only to be swiftly arrested. Fast forward 15 years, and they're finally out of prison—ready to reclaim their spoils. But there's a catch: their precious hiding spot now stands smack dab in the middle of a residential housing development! Cue the chaos as George and his eccentric gang—including the sarcastic Fred (Dick Emery) and the ever-resourceful Dipper (Lance Percival)—cook up absurd schemes to retrieve their loot without being discovered. Packed with slapstick humor, quirky characters, and plenty of British charm, The Big Job is a rollicking ride through misadventure and mischief. Fancy a giggle? This film delivers in spades! 'You're right. You're absolutely right. All you've got to do is go in there and say "Excuse me, Sarge, but fifteen years ago we happen to have left fifty thousand nicker in your tree. Can we have it back please?" Our guest this week is an “OG” Seal Beach ripper who caught his first wave in 1969. He was sponsored and worked at the iconic Harbour Surfboards, which led to a long-time friendship and bond with Rich, who eventually encouraged him to take up his passion in photography in 2002. His short time behind the lens quickly resulted with his first published photo in Surfer just about a year later. His dedication and keen eye, with the help from his wife/artist Enzia Farrel, Art Brewer, Larry “Flame” Moore, Tom Carey, and Warren Bolster, (so it is to no surprise) his amazing images graced the pages in Surfer, Surfing, and Transworld and many other publications. The last few years he has been working a new film “Harbour Chronicles”- a documentary to celebrate the life of Rich Harbour REST IN PEACE!! Steve met Matthew Huff three years ago on social media. The hunters shared a love for tree dogs that brought them to a personal meeting at the 2022 Grand American Coon Hunt in South Carolina. Huff's story is unique. It begins in California and moves eastward to Georgia. The catalyst for his mostly urban coon hunting activities came in the form of a mixed breed, mostly hound, with perhaps a shot of Treeing Walker dog named Sargeant. As his travels took him across the nation Huff continued to hunt the orphaned Sarge mostly by himself on public grounds and parks until a purebred Bluetick entered the picture. That's were we find Huff today, treeing coons with regularity and assuming the more common role of hound and hunter with a traditional coonhound breed. Mentioning Huff as an urban coon hunter, he now lives in metro Atlanta. Activities inspired by the Orthodox Christian Church with whom he affiliates, have taken him to the mountains of West Virginia and to the Carolinas helping those in need, something that comes naturally to the humanitarian. This is an interesting episode that proves that hounds can lead us in many directions, some of which we may never had expected. We would like to thank those who support this podcast. Send us a textGood evening everyone. It's evening as I record this special solo episode of the Cops and Writers Podcast. Why do a solo episode? Good Question. I have been super busy taking care of my wife who had a total knee replacement surgery a couple of days ago. She's a tough cookie but needs a little help from me and that has put most things on the back-burner, including this podcast. So, I thought it would be a good idea to answer some questions from the Cops and Writers Facebook group with stories from my career in law enforcement. In today's episode we discuss: · The impending release of The Good Collar. Getting the cover to conform with Amazon, and releasing the paperback, then the hardcover, and then the Kindle version very soon!! Some reviews have already come out on Goodreads, with an average of 4.5! For Goodreads that is awesome! Thanks to everyone who was a beta and ARC reader!· Fred Snyder asks: Current day United States. How much/what kind of paperwork is involved if a Federal officer (FBI, USSS, DHS) draws his/her gun? Doesn't fire it, just draws it. · Connie Albus asks: A husband and wife are found dead, both with bullet wounds but the coroner is not sure if the husband murdered his wife then committed suicide due to the angle of the bullet wounds on him, or if it was a double murder. On the coroner's report would it show hers as "homicide" and his as "homicide/suicide"? or other wording? Thanks for the help. (story takes place in the USA) _(added the remains were found in a burned building). Rich Rybicki and Scott Morales did a great job answering and I added that we never assume anything, it's a double homicide until it isn't. The totality of the circumstances comes into play here. Were there any 911/DV calls at the address? Did they find a gun, if so, where was it? Is there a motive, such as an impending divorce or other problems? Any history of calls of one of them having a mental illness crisis? Was there a note? There was a fire, so that might be tricky. Witness statements or video? · Allison Holland-Ray asks: In modern times, Portland, Maine, I have a suspect who's pointing his gun at two bystanders, while three officers all point their weapons at him. What is the protocol for getting him to drop his weapon? Right now, I have written that the officers are talking to him and they put their weapons down to show they are willing to talk. Welcome to Episode 238 of Autism Parenting Secrets. This week, Sarge Goodchild of Active Healing reveals how foundational movement can transform children with autism, cerebral palsy, and other developmental delays. Sarge shares his hands-on, non-verbal therapy approach, focusing on the pons, a key brain area that supports coordination, bonding, and language. By addressing this foundation first, children can unlock new developmental possibilities. We explore how milestones like crawling and creeping build physical and cognitive strength. Sarge explains how simple exercises and gravity-based movements help children, particularly those with cerebral palsy, progress toward independence. Sarge highlights how movement affects digestion, inflammation, and overall health. He stresses the importance of reducing toxins and adopting a holistic approach to support natural development. Drawing from his own experience overcoming epilepsy, Sarge shows the power of movement to improve brain function and resilience. The secret this week is... Engage In ACTIVE Healing You'll Discover:Three Key Things To Have In Place (4:18)Why The Pons Is So Important (8:19)How Active Healing Differs From PT and OT (17:24)The First of Three Factors To Address (28:29)The Second of Three Factors To Address (30:43)The Third of Three Factors To Address (32:21)Ways To Prevent SIDS (36:39)Sarge's Backstory (40:14)The Relationship Between The Midbrain and Seizures (43:52)About Our Guest:Sargent L. Goodchild Jr. began life as a brain-injured child. At four years of age, Sargent was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. None of the many professionals who met with Sargent were capable of seeing his potential. The best medical advice his parents were given was to put him on anticonvulsant and muscle-relaxing medication. He was eventually placed on various combinations of seven different medications. The effects of which were incredible toxicity without seizure control. It was too much for his parents to bear. Through a friend, they found neurodevelopmental therapy, and within nine months of beginning a functional movement program, he became both seizure and medication-free, as he still is today. Sargent has been working with children with various disabilities/challenges for 30 years as a practitioner of NeuroDevelopmental Movement ®. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper articles and was recognized for his accomplishment with an internationally adopted child in a news story for WBZ-TV in Boston that was subsequently picked up by the CBS affiliates in New York City and Philadelphia. In addition to running Actie Healing, Inc., Sargent is on the board of advisors for Documenting Hope, Bioregulatory Medicine Institute, and Healing Complex Kids.www.activehealing.orgReferences in The Episode:Autism Research InstituteAdditional Resources:Unlock the power of personalized 1-on-1 support; visit allinparentcoaching.com/intensiveTake The Quiz: What's YOUR Top Autism Parenting Blindspot? To learn more about Cass & Len, visit us at www.autismparentingsecrets.comBe sure to follow Cass & Len on Instagram
