In this episode of the Great British Mickey Waffle, we're joined by Russ from the Orlando Adventures Podcast to uncover Orlando's hidden gems beyond the theme parks. From must-visit spots to insider tips, we take you on an enchanting journey through this magical city. We dive into our Carousel of Questions, revealing our favorite parks, snacks, and modes of transportation. Volcano Bay from Universal takes center stage as we discuss its unique Aqua Coaster and night-time experience, comparing it to Disney's water parks. We also share our preference for off-site hotels for a seamless park-hopping adventure and express our excitement for the upcoming Epic Universe park. The debate between Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical adds intrigue, setting the stage for future visits and exploring newly opened theme parks. We then shift focus to the competitive landscape between Disney and Universal, emphasizing Universal's Epic Universe expansion and Disney's need to stay relevant. Join us as we suggest Disney make big announcements at D23 and explore the crucial role of transportation in Orlando. We advocate for unique experiences like airboat rides and visits to Kennedy Space Center, reflecting on the awe-inspiring memorial wall and the space program's sacrifices. Planning future trips, from Disney cruises to new attractions, fills us with excitement and keeps the magic of Orlando alive in our hearts. Our shared passion for Orlando shines through, resonating with fellow enthusiasts. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell. Stay waffling until next time. See you real soon!

How did they narrow it down to six? The team rode the attraction over and over again testing how various tracks fit with the spirit and the movement of the coaster. They finally settled on the following six songs in their original classic versions: “September” “Disco Inferno” “Conga” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” “I Ran” “One Way or Another” You won't know which track you're going to hear until you blast off. Plus we now know that the theme of the ride is to help stop Eson, the Celestial villain who is trying to complete an evil plan. --Connections Café & Eatery is Now Open at EPCOTConnections Café & Eatery is open and ready to serve in the World Celebration neighborhood. The restaurant's design includes nods to Walt Disney's original plans for EPCOT. There are two experiences – an eatery on one side serving lunch and dinner menus, and a café and pastry shop on the other open all day long. When walking past Spaceship Earth on the way into the park, Connections Café and Eatery is on the left. Floor-to-ceiling windows give a full view of the open space featuring modern décor and tempting smells of pastries baking, fresh coffee brewing and burgers on the grill. Since World Celebration is located in the center of the park, Connections Café & Eatery offers some great views as well.A colorful mural called “Global Gathering” covers one wall and reflects the heart of the restaurant – people from around the world gathering around food. It's one of the biggest murals Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created. Take note how the scenes blend seamlessly from sunrise to sunset. You can also see chefs at work in three show kitchens. Watch them grilling, sautéing and baking everything from burgers to pizzas and sprinkling pixie dust on fun desserts from milkshakes to waffles.Whether it's coffee or tea, you'll find it here showcasing how various cultures enjoy their favorite drinks. As always at WDW, don't forget to look down. There are three original floor inlays inspired by Walt's 1966 “Florida Project” site plans, where EPCOT was to serve as the “center” of Walt Disney World. These details honor Walt's original dream of EPCOT. --‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' Opening Summer 2022 at Animal Kingdom ParkThe Nemo show is getting an update: “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” – opens this summer at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. The fully updated, 25-minute show incorporates live performers and puppets, along with many of the favorite songs from the original “Finding Nemo: The Musical.”In addition to a new script, the show features new set pieces and a new LED video wall designed to visually extend the world created by the physical sets on stage. Grab a drink, relax, and join us as we talk about all the great things you can do at Disney after the sun goes down! Here's our rundown of what we talked about: Cheddar from the Big Cheese Mike: Sadly, the layoffs at Disney continue. We heard that practically all of the Cast Members, if not all of them, that work on the stage shows and things like that -- for example, Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical -- have been laid off. The list is long and sad, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Cast Members affected and their families. If you wish to help them out, the Cast Member Pantry is accepting donations. To leave a donation, send some money via VENMO to @castmemberpantry.Mike: In other COVID news, the government in France has implemented a mandatory lockdown due to a spike in cases in Europe. As a result, Disneyland Paris is having to close. They closed effective October 30, 2020.Sophie: Over at Disney Springs, the Lego Store has put up a model of The Child made entirely of Legos. On this week's show we're featuring audio from Finding Nemo: The Musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Finding Nemo is a very interesting success story from the park, because it takes a Disney-Pixar film with relatively no musical offerings and brings it to life on stage with catchy musical numbers and moments that have audiences tearing up right there in their seats. Today, we're going to listen to pre-show music that can be heard in the theater before the show and the show itself.
For this week's bonus Friday show, we have an interview with Jeffrey Correia - actor and puppeteer currently starring as 'Marlin' in Finding Nemo: The Musical.
We discuss some of the most popular live Disney World Stage show with a friend who is a former theater kid. Meet Kelley, who has been in multiple versions of Beauty & the Beast herself! Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. So as you know, I’m the father of two children. Susie who is about to turn five, and Mikey who is almost two. Until becoming a father though, I don’t think I ever fully understood the story of Finding Nemo. If one of my children were lost, I too would swim the entire ocean to find them. So when I relistened to the memory today in preparation for this podcast, it really hit me. Finding Nemo – The Musical is a very powerful and emotional show, with strong themes and deep emotion, more so than any other stage show in Walt Disney World. It really draws you in and makes you feel the pain and later elation, all while entertaining everyone from every age. The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station
Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello and this is show #92 for the week of November 9, 2008. There is big news coming out of Walt Disney World this week, as Disney has reacted to the tough economy by giving Guests a pair of vacation deals which could give more families the chance to visit Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. In my first segment, we’re going to explore Finding Nemo: The Musical, as Glenn Whelan and I look at it’s history, story, music and what it took to bring this Broadway-quality production to a Disney park. I’ll then open up the inbox and answer more of your emails with the help of Beci Mahnken. Topics include romantic spots in Walt Disney World, including where to “pop the question” and vow renewal ceremonies, the best steakhouse on property, questions about how to get chosen to help open the Magic Kingdom, spending New Year’s Eve in Walt Disney World and much more. Before I end the show, I’ll announce the winner of last week’s Country Bear Jamboree contest, give you this week’s NEW contest question, and give you some updates before playing your voicemails. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of the WDW Radio Show.. You can email the show at lou@wdwradio.com or call the voicemail TOLL FREE at 1-888-703-2171. Visit the web site at wdwradio.com. Talk about the show by visiting and posting in the WDW Radio Show message forums at DisneyWorldTrivia.com. Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!
(((HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED))) This week, the Mouse Lounge goes Under the Sea. Also on the show, a full docket of Disney News from our departments Entertainment, Theme Parks East, Theme Parks West, and Business. Each week, in From the Vault we sample a clip from a classic Disney film, short, television or radio program, or Disneyland Record: This week we listen to a terrific Pepsodent Radio Theater episode from 1938 featuring Walt Disney, Clarence Ducky Nash, Pinto Colvig, reprising his role of Bashful from Snow White, and Florence Gil as Clara Cluck. Each week we present a high definition ride-through from a Disney Park East and a Disney Park West. This week in Disney Parks West, we present our featured attraction, Pinocchio. From the Disney Family Museum; learn about the making of 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. From Disney Parks East, a Walt Disney World double feature. From the Theater in the Wild in Animal Kingdom, enjoy Finding Nemo: The Musical. Then take in its all-too-brief but ever-so-fun sequel with The Seas with Nemo and Friends. The final mix really took me by surprise, so be sure to listen all the way to the end. Enjoy! Meandering Mouse and Meandering Mouse Club TV-(AUDIO and VIDEO) Disney Park Fun
**Headphones A Must** Repost due to small gap in first posting. Finding Nemo - The Musical began sneak previews this week at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Earl, from Trapped on Vacation, The Bleepin' Wife, and I got a sneak peak of Finding Nemo The Musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom this past week. The show was quite impressive considering it is in "BETA" at the moment. The original music written for the show, the actors, and use of puppetry all worked together very well. I would have to say it is the best live show in the parks I've seen at Disney World and it will only get better as they iron out the wrinkles. Earl will be posting a binaural version of the show so you can also check his out...there will, most likely, be a variation in the sound but you'll have to decide for yourself. I may be wrong but I believe we are the first to podcast this show. Since I'm out on vacation it's hard to keep up with what's going on around the net. Enjoy this sneak peek posted from Walt Disney World. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
