Today Pastor Pace continues to teach how our sin affects us and the remedy that is essential to receive. Text: Romans 7:13 "Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Pastor walks his children through Children's Catechism question 33—especially explaining the condition into which Adam and his wife fell by his sin. Q33. What befell our first parents when they had sinned? Instead of being holy and happy, they became sinful and miserable. When Adam and his wife sinned, they fell from their original state of holiness and happiness into a condition of sinfulness and misery, marked by spiritual death, alienation from God, and the corruption of their nature and circumstances. They endured a fundamental transformation in their character—losing the knowledge, righteousness, and holiness with which they were created. This fall introduced ignorance, unrighteousness, and a broken relationship with God, rendering them incapable of true happiness. The catechism's answer captures the essence of this fall: a complete reversal from divine communion to spiritual ruin, setting the stage for the gospel's transformative grace.
In the year 2025, sin is minimized, downplayed and even glamorized in our world. But when you open and study your Bible, you discover the truth about sin. It's ugly and deceitful. It comes between man and a loving, righteous God. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
We're back in Romans today, and pastor Jeff Johnson will focus in on verses seven through thirteen. We can easily fall into one of two extremes - On the one hand, thinking the Christian life is all about obeying the law. And the other, thinking the law isn't necessary, because we are living under grace! The law does have a specific role, and today pastor Jeff will help us arrive at a biblical understanding of the law and its role in our lives. Summary In this sermon from Romans 7:7–13, Dr. Michael Easley unpacks one of Scripture's most complex questions: If God's law is good, why does it seem to lead us into sin? Paul reminds us that the problem isn't the law—it's the sin within us. God's law is holy, righteous, and good, but sin twists what is good into an opportunity for rebellion. Dr. Easley outlines seven functions of the law, revealing that while the law defines and exposes sin, it cannot save us from it. The law condemns, provokes, and reveals the depth of our sinfulness, pointing us instead to our desperate need for Christ. No set of rules or moral codes can make us good; only intimacy with Jesus transforms the heart. When we seek fulfillment in Him rather than in the false promises of the world—whether through lust, greed, or pride—sin loses its grip. Dr. Easley reminds us that the Christian life isn't about trying harder to stop sinning; it's about walking more closely with Christ. Only when He becomes our “all in all” can we find the true freedom the law could never provide. Takeaways God's law is holy, righteous, and good—but sin twists it into an opportunity for rebellion. The law reveals sin's power but cannot save us from it. No number of rules can make us righteous; only Christ can transform the heart. Sin deceives and provokes, taking what is good and turning it against us. True freedom comes not from resisting sin but from pursuing intimacy with Jesus Christ. When Christ becomes our all in all, the world's temptations lose their hold. To read the book of Romans, click here. Click here for other Michael Easley Sermons.

Israel's Sinfulness; God's Faithfulness With Brother Donnie Denton
The fact that the Bible has so many different words for sin is a good indication that God takes it quite seriously. Not only that, such a comprehensive list of words helps us understand the breadth and depth of our offences. Rarely does a person appreciate the cure until they realize the extent of the disease. A deep dive into the sinfulness of sin should make our hearts sing with hope in the Saviour of sinners!
Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 22:1-6, where we are reminded that while the world, the flesh, and the devil scheme, the Lord has a plan and is sovereign over all.
SYNOPSISThis essay addresses the ethical, moral, and theological implications of publicly celebrating the death of a political or philosophical opponent, specifically in response to the killing of Charlie Kirk. I highlight the reactions from some individuals who feel it is unfair that people celebrating his death have faced consequences, like losing their jobs. I argue that there are serious moral, ethical, and theological concerns when someone openly rejoices in the death of another.4th and final reflection as I processed the assassination of TPUSA founder and Christian conservative speaker Charlie Kirk. The Consequences of Celebrating Death: A Biblical, Ethical, and Moral Reflection
In the wake of the murderous assassination of Charlie Kirk, we ponder Ralph Venning's "The Sinfulness of Sin," which emphasizes the pervasive nature of sin, where society tolerates some sins while abhorring others. Venning contrasts God's holiness with humanity's sinful nature, urging believers to expect persecution and to rejoice in Christ, the light amidst darkness, who offers salvation and righteousness to repentant sinners.Links mentioned-.pdf to A Puritan's Mind, and Ralph Venning's book The Sinfulness of Sin. https://www.apuritansmind.com/wp-content/uploads/FREEEBOOKS/TheSinfulnessofSin-RalphVenning.pdfChapel Library, excerpts of Venning's bookhttps://www.chapellibrary.org/read/sosifg

The guilt of Adam's first transgression, plunged all of mankind into a state of ruin. Today, we examine the first half of the two-fold problem of what this means for us as his physical descendants; due to his failure to keep the “covenant of works”.So what is the, ‘sinfulness of man', or expressed another way, the doctrine of ‘Original Sin'?Scripture:Matthew 15: 10-20, Romans 2: 25-29, Titus 3: 3-8, 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11, John 1: 12PBHB GIVEAWAY: https://www.stayreformed.com/giveawayAdditional References:Buy A Puritan Catechism: https://a.co/d/esRURdtRead A Puritan Catechism: https://www.chapellibrary.org/pdf/books/cwpr.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOop_iUZJzFz_3HbHFqJUqPMbSUhhfZUx9FY_-KuyKA9_kwqb8Kh6The Second London Baptist Confession (1689): https://founders.org/library-book/1689-confession/https://www.chapellibrary.org/pdf/books/lbcw.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOorAi1b6iCPqv94DjBcMhSSpcDOGwJrb9hXJSlgqxrFSgo9ofc0-Social Media:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StayReformedTwitter/X: https://twitter.com/stayreformedInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stayreformed/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stayreformedpodcast/Website: https://www.stayreformed.com/Email: contact@stayreformed.com
Sunday July 6, 2025 || His Righteousness for Our Sinfulness || Pastor Hilda Henderson
This text is a sermon based on Genesis chapter 3, focusing on the biblical account of the fall of Adam and Eve. The speaker examines the immediate consequences of their sin, highlighting the tendency to hide from God and truth and the avoidance of personal responsibility. The sermon emphasizes the gravity and pervasiveness of sin in human nature, arguing that a true understanding of one's own sinfulness is necessary to grasp the transformative power of the gospel and the offer of forgiveness and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.Support the showThanks for listening! Advances in neurological science point to the amazing complexity of our God-made brains. Because their brains are still developing, our children, teens, and even young adults have what is called an underdeveloped impulse control. This makes them less prone to resist behavioral impulses and more prone to engage in risky behaviors perceived to bring some kind of immediate benefit, but which could also bring long-lasting negative consequences. In spiritual terms, this not only means that our kids are likely to lack wisdom and discernment, but more readily fall into sin. We need to teach them that as sinners, their default setting is to follow their sinful hearts more readily than they are to follow God's Word. Which means that we must nurture them into knowing God's good, life-giving Word, helping to expose sin. As their frontal lobes are still developing, they need parents who serve to train them in Godly decision-making and living.
In this sermon, we continue our journey through Genesis, moving from the creation and fall into the tragic consequences of sin. Genesis 4-5 shows us what life looks like outside the Garden, where sin quickly takes hold—culminating in Cain's murder of his brother, Abel. Yet, even as human sinfulness spirals, God's grace remains steadfast. We explore two central themes:1. The Sinfulness of Sin (Genesis 4:1-16) – Sin is described as a plague that corrupts hearts and relationships. Cain's half-hearted worship, envy, and unchecked anger lead to destruction, but God, in His mercy, warns and even protects him.2. The Goodness of God (Genesis 4:17-5:32) – Amidst human rebellion, God remains faithful, preserving a lineage of hope through Seth and eventually Noah. Even in the genealogies, we see glimpses of redemption, pointing us to Christ, whose blood speaks a better word than Abel's.This passage reminds us that sin must be dealt with honestly—it cannot be ignored or allowed to grow. But it also points us to our need for God's redeeming work, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus.
