Great artist and great producer! Steve Shaden was one of our guests at the DME Berlin 2020. Look forward to a little nerd talk about mixing and mastering and get an insight into Steve's producer lifestyle. He also talks about his workflow, his longtime experience as an artist and gives some tips and tricks for producing techno music. || Who is Steve Shaden? Currently considered as one of the rising stars on the global Techno scene, Steve Shaden has rapidly gained fame and respect thanks to the incredible musical successes he has achieved through the years, becoming known for the gloomy and dark sensations that envelop his unique sound, created from a precise blending of powerful, rhythmic old- school beats with modern percussions and heavy basslines. Steve's meteoric rise is reflected on the Beatport charts where he was insert among the TOP100 Hard Techno Artists of the year since 2014, reaching the 1st place of same ranking on 2018. Besides success on the music market, his productions have also been noted and supported by some of the best DJs in the Techno scene – Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, Sam Paganini, Paco Osuna, Cristian Varela, SLAM, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Klaudia Gawlas... to name a few – and released by some of the world's most important techno labels on the market, including: OFF Recordings (DE), Phobiq (IT), Loose Records (IT), Trapez (DE), Naked Lunch (PR), Respekt Recordings (UK), Pornographic Records (ES), Funk’n Deep (USA), and many others. In addition to his talent and passion for producing music, Steve has had a strong passion for mixing ever since he was just 17. During his early formative years, Steve Shaden developed a strong passion for techno music. He grew up following the Italian techno- progressive scene and all of its pioneers. As he grew up, he took interest in the various facets of electronic music, which in turn brought a unique eclectic feel to his productions and sets. His strong passion for studying and producing music have turned what started off for Steve as a passion into a real job, to which he devotes most of his time. Currently he works as producer for some of the most important and promising techno labels on the market, such as: Italo Business (IT), Naked Lunch Records (PR), Yin Yang Records (UK), Funk'n Deep Records (USA), INLAB Underground (FR), Gain Records (IT) and many others. His productions are a reflection his past: a blend of oldschool, powerful, yet rhythmic beats, combined with a modern percussions and heavy basslines. All of these elements carefully combined together contribute to that gloomy and dark sensation that Steve is so well known for. Finally, Steve has also a very strong passion for selecting and mixing tracks. His DJ sets have allowed him to undertake a radio career and work with the most important radios in the Techno scene.
