Dr. Steven F. Hotze is the founder and CEO of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, Hotze Vitamins, and Physicians Preference Pharmacy International, LLC. His goal is to change the way women and men are treated through natural medicine and procedures such as hormone therapy and regenerative treatments. Dr. Hotze earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He is the president of the American Academy of Biologically Identical Hormone Therapy (AABIHT), a member of the Pan American Allergy Society (PAAS), and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS).  Dr. Hotze has also written two books for people who are eager to take charge of their health.  I spent most of adrive from Michigan to Atlanta listening to his first book, “https://www.amazon.com/Hormones-Health-Happiness-Rediscovering-Bioidentical/dp/1599323990 (Hormones, Health, and Happiness,”) which focuses on bioidentical hormones, and his second book is “https://www.amazon.com/Hypothyroidism-Health-Happiness-Illness-Revealed/dp/1599323966 (Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness,”) which discusses why hypothyroidism is so underdiagnosed and what to do about it. And that's really the central topic of this week's conversation — hypothyroidism. I know quite a few people that have had their thyroid ripped out because they did not know any better and trusted their allopathic physician, but there are other options. Many Western doctors just aren't interested in helping people heal their body naturally, without invasive and potentially harmful procedures. Luckily, Dr. Hotze has some great resources for anyone experiencing the symptoms of hypothyroidism—including a https://www.hotzehwc.com/symptom-checker/ (symptom checker) if you're not sure— and tips for how you can advocate for your own health if you want to start tackling your symptoms without an invasive surgery.  -- Resources: Hotze Health & Wellness Center: https://www.hotzehwc.com/ (www.hotzehwc.com) Twitter: https://twitter.com/hotzehealth (twitter.com/hotzehealth) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HotzeHWC (www.facebook.com/HotzeHWC) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hotzehealth/ (www.instagram.com/hotzehealth) Physicians Preference Pharmacy  https://physicianspreferencerx.com/ (physicianspreferencerx.com) Hotze Vitamins https://www.hotzevitamins.com/ (https://www.hotzevitamins.com) Read: “https://www.amazon.com/Hypothyroidism-Health-Happiness-Illness-Revealed/dp/1599323966 (Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness”) Do you want more to empower yourself through healthy living? On today’s show, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, tells a story from his book “Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness” – Peggy’s story. “If my life is going to be like this than I want a short life.” Exhaustion, joint pain, weight gain, brain fog, insomnia and much, much more: This was Peggy’s daily existence. Her daily life, as you can imagine, was completely unbearable. How did it come to this? Her personal life was going just fine, her family was doing well, but as a teenager Peggy was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She was prescribed synthetic thyroids since that time but it didn’t provide her with any resolution of her symptoms. Her downhill slide began after her hysterectomy in her late 30s, when her symptoms worsened. Peggy scheduled an appointment for her doctor to check her thyroid levels: Her doctor was disinterested with her, condescended to her and created an overall negative experience for Peggy. He simply tried to pawn her off with anti-depressant medication. After finally agreeing to take on anti-depressant prescription medication, eventually she added a cocktail of even more unhealthy drugs to intake, like Adderall and sleep medication. This is the story we hear often at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center: Synthetic thyroid medications don’t even contain active thyroid hormone. Tune in to Dr. Hotze’s Wellness Revolution to learn how Peggy was evaluated, treated and how much her overall quality of life has improved. Hormone imbalance…How does it affect you? Nobody should be more concerned about your own health than you, and it’s up to you to take charge of yourself. On today’s show, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, breaks down the effects of hormone imbalance, particularly for women. If your energy level is low, you’re going to experience low metabolism, joint and muscle aching, bowel discomfort, loss of romantic desires and more; A major cause of this is not having enough active natural thyroid in their bodies. Dr. Hotze takes a question from Faceboook Live to break down a situation where a 45-year-old woman has for 10 years now been experiencing horrible menstrual cycles, adrenal deficiency, weight gain, cyst and polyps and more. Dr. Hotze relays that these hormone imbalances are more common than most people may think, and the issues more often than not go undiagnosed. Decline in thyroid hormone means a decline in your energy levels and most likely an increase in weight gain; However, a natural thyroid supplementation plan can enable your cells to produce more energy, and as a result make you feel better physically. Health hazards of flooded homes…What should you look for? On top of helping over 31,000 guests at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center in 25 years, Dr. Steven F. Hotze, M.D. and founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, is taking charge to help families and victims from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey along with thousands of other much-needed and much-appreciated volunteers throughout the Houston area. Around 200 people attended our Hurricane Harvey Flood Recovery Meeting in Katy filled with informative and entertaining speakers featuring builders, attorneys, real-estate agents and more. There are numerous medical hazards in flood-damaged homes from the molds and black water that got into houses; Sewers backed up, mixed with water throughout the city and found its way into numerous homes around the Gulf Coast. If you try to sell your home, a mold count will be taken for records; If there is in fact mold, it will be much harder to sell your home. Perhaps most unfortunately, 82% of Houstonians don’t have the proper flood insurance to fully repair their homes, so it’s important to learn the most efficient ways to rebuild your home from trustworthy sources. We will be putting on another event this Saturday, September 23rd so you can learn more about what to do with your flooded home and the relating health hazards, remediation process, selling options, legal remedies and more. Lastly, we’re sorry to say that Dr. Ed Young’s wife, Joe Beth, passed away this past weekend. Please send your prayers to Dr. Ed Young and his family. You can also still donate to Second Baptist’s efforts to help the Hurricane Harvey victims throughout all six of their campuses throughout the Houston area at www.Second.org.
