John is back for another new episode of Wrestling Omakase (I know, already??) as we do a deep dive into VOW's annual 30 Under 30 list, which just came out a few days ago! They're joined by two voters for the 2025 list: host of VOW podcast The Good, The Bad & The Hungee Fred Morlan (can also check out Fred's Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/flagrantwrestling) and Paul Wedding (@PaulEWedding on Twitter), who also happen to be two first time Omakase guests. John, Fred and Paul proceed to break down the 30 Under 30 results, starting with a bit of a deep dive on the promotion breakdown of the list- and John comes armed with some hard attendance figures to discuss that one promotion in particular may have been shortchanged by the results!Once that's out of the way they proceed to break down all their selections for this year, started with wrestlers they all voted for and going in the order of their finishes on the final list (followed by wrestlers only two of three voted for and then of course wrestlers only one of them voted for). A ton of names across Japan, Mexico & the US are discussed as well as a ton of different topics, including but not limited to: surprise at Gabe Kidd going number one and the backlash to the pick on social media, how much the booking of Kaito Kiyomiya has hurt him, whether Yuma Anzai may eventually have to go elsewhere, MAO being a highlight of BOSJ, Saya Kamitani and Sareee both getting ranked way too low, other major STARDOM snubs, Kosei Fujita's eventual ceiling, a hasty MJF defense from Fred before he has to go early (and a burial from John), and a lot of shoutouts from Paul of some Osaka talent that you may not have heard from. Plus a whole lot more!Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: @WrestleOmakaseFollow John on Bluesky: @justoneenbyCheck out Paul's wrestling substack here: http://pwfg.substack.comCheck out Paul's wrestling interviews for his radio station here: http://WFAA.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
The city of Dallas is considering taking out a $1 billion loan to move forward with the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center project. Staff will brief the City Council Wednesday on the updates to the convention center plan. Also, after sitting through more than two months of auditions, training and performances, American Idol fans were minutes away from finding out the winner of season 23 when WFAA's Chief Meteorologist Pete Delkus appeared on screen shortly before 10 p.m., warning of severe weather — including possible tornadoes, thunderstorms and flash floods — in counties across the region. Frustrated viewers took to social media to express their displeasure; Katy Perry's “Lifetimes” tour stop at American Airlines Center has been moved to Thursday night to accommodate the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers' NHL playoff game; and whatever happened to your favorite Dallas restaurant? What's going on with that project in your neighborhood? Curious Texas could help find an answer. With Curious Texas, The Dallas Morning News invites readers to ask questions about North Texas and the Lone Star State. “What happens when a tornado warning collides with the American Idol finale—and the city of Climax is caught in the middle?”In this hilariously chaotic episode of The Ben and Skin Show, Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive headfirst into the storm—literally and figuratively. The crew unpacks the social media firestorm surrounding WFAA's chief meteorologist Pete Delkus, who interrupted the American Idol finale to deliver urgent tornado warnings. The result? Viewers were furious, Idol fans were left hanging, and Pete was—quite literally—out of breath and out of patience. From the absurdity of a Texas town named Climax to the debate over which weather channel had the better Doppler radar, this episode is packed with laugh-out-loud moments, sharp commentary, and a surprising amount of storm science.

For today's edition of Not My Beat, Craig is joined by long-time friend Mike Leslie of WFAA to react to the Cowboys' surprising trade for Steelers WR George Pickens. Mike shares why he's intrigued by the move and what it says about the Cowboys' mindset. Craig questions whether Pickens can thrive in Dallas after being given up on by Mike Tomlin, and the two agree that while Dallas now has playoff potential, health will be the key. They also discuss the initial fan backlash to the Cowboys drafting Tyler Booker and how the perception around the pick has shifted just days later.
Blue Origin, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's space tourism company, completed its latest spaceflight on Monday with a six-member all-female crew that included pop singer Katy Perry; CBS Mornings host Gayle King; and Lauren Sánchez, an author, TV host turned philanthropist and Bezos's fiancée.They were joined by activist Amanda Nguyen, ex-NASA engineer Aisha Bowe and film producer Kerianne Flynn on the suborbital flight, which lasted less than 11 minutes.King defended the Blue Origin mission in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday after hearing criticism from people she knows, likes and “considers friends.”uaydarius Davis, a former 4-star recruit from Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, was arrested and charged with burglary, domestic abuse and battery by strangulation, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFAA. Davis, who played college football for Jackson State University, Texas Southern University and most recently Southern University, according to his player bio on ESPN.com, was arrested in Tulsa, Okla., after video footage showed him choking a woman until she lost consciousness, according to the affidavit.Coachella ticket prices are around $599, to experience headliners like Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, and Post Malone. But how are fans paying that in this economy? Thanks to payment plans, those steep costs are becoming increasingly manageable. This year, around 60% of general admission ticket buyers used Coachella's in-house payment plan, which allowed fans to reserve tickets for as little as $49.99 upfront. The remaining balance was typically spread over three months—a model reshaping how festivals are marketed.

Join hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray as they dive into a lively debate about the greatest actors hailing from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The show takes a humorous turn as the hosts discuss a WFAA article that asked ChatGPT to name the Mount Rushmore of DFW actors. Face on the mountain!" exclaims KT, highlighting the glaring omissions from the AI-generated list.Listeners will be entertained by the hosts' witty banter and hilarious anecdotes, such as the story of bumping into Jamie Foxx on Easter Sunday and the debate over whether Barney the Dinosaur is more popular than Chewbacca. "Barney is probably more popular than Chewbacca," asserts KT, leading to a comical showdown with ChatGPT.As the episode wraps up, the hosts tease the next day's topic: the Mount Rushmore of DFW musicians. "Tomorrow, we will do musicians, DFW musicians. I'm excited about that," says Ben, leaving listeners eager for more.

A $337.4 billion state spending plan that funnels money to schools, the border, health services and other state needs for the next two years was approved by the Texas House early Friday morning after a day-long debate. The budget plan also includes new money for teacher pay raises, property tax cuts, medical research, and a private school voucher-like program. In other news, Dallas-area international students are struggling to navigate why they were told to leave the country immediately after visas were suddenly revoked by federal officials, lawyers working with some of them said. In some instances, the students had faced criminal charges but those charges were dismissed; President Trump's tariff agenda has roiled markets, panicked recession forecasters and triggered drastic measures from some of the world's largest companies. But the little guys ― like the small businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth region ― are feeling the most intense heat; and North Texas based furniture store Home Zone can relate to a lot of North Texans' feelings about the Luka Doncic trade. In a 3-part series of advertisements that aired on WFAA during the Mavericks-Lakers game Wednesday night, the store parodied the now-infamous trade that sent the beloved superstar to Los Angeles. Iný technologický miliardár Jeff Bezos zase zabránil denníku The Washington Post podporiť Harrisovú, následne svoje predplatné zrušilo viac ako 200-tisíc predplatiteľov týchto novín. A listener sent me a curious story: There is a Super PAC running ads online that paint Kamala Harris as a staunch defender of Israel AND a weak capitulator inflaming anti-semitism by pandering to Palestinians. Don't believe me? Here are the ads. Why is the Future Coalition PAC countering their own message? They aren't. They're attempting to inflame both sides of the conflict against Kamala Harris in two swing states. The Pro-Israel ads are not running in ZIP codes with high Jewish populations, they're running in Dearborn, Michigan the highest concentration of Arab Americans in the United States. Meanwhile, the Palestinian “Pandering” ads are running in the suburbs of Pennsylvania where the majority of that crucial state's jewish population lives. The goal of both is to turn those natural Democratic voters against the nominee. That's only first 10 minutes of our two-hour episode! * We are joined by Jason Whitely the senior political reporter for WFAA in Dallas. This week he moderated the debate between Colin Allred and Ted Cruz. We talk to him about his moderating philosophy and his thoughts on Texas politics.* Evan Scrimshaw and Ryan Jakubowski join the show to do a Narrative Draft. What are the topics we believe will dominate the conversation after the election.* Carl Allen explains to us why we've been reading polls the wrong way our entire lives and how to change it. All that and snap reactions to the death of Sinwar in Gaza. This is a public episode.
