If you've been pushing yourself to do more, research more, and try more when it comes to your health — this episode is for you. Today we're going back to the original Hebrew to uncover what Solomon actually meant when he used the word "diligent" in Proverbs. And it's not what most of us think. This isn't a try-harder message. This is a work-smarter, trust-God, move-with-precision message — and it has everything to do with how you approach your healing journey. This episode is for the Christian woman who is done spinning her wheels, confused by every new health trend, and ready to move forward with clarity, faith, and real direction. --- What Does "Diligent" Actually Mean in Proverbs? Most of us grew up thinking diligent simply meant hardworking and persistent. But when you go back to the original Hebrew, the word used in Proverbs — charuwts — paints a completely different picture. According to Strong's Concordance, charuwts means incisive, decisive, and sharp. It's the same word used to describe a threshing sledge — a heavy agricultural tool with iron teeth, dragged across grain to separate what's valuable from what isn't. Sometimes a person would sit on top of it to increase the weight and effectiveness. This is not a passive word. This is a precise, relentless, purposeful word. And here's what Proverbs says about the diligent woman: • Proverbs 12:24 — the diligent will rule • Proverbs 13:4 — the soul of the diligent will be richly supplied • Proverbs 21:5 — diligence leads to abundance --- Work Smarter, Not Just Harder Here's the shift that changes everything: the threshing sledge wasn't just powerful — it was efficient. It had a specific purpose and it executed that purpose with precision. Jesus said in Matthew 11 that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. That doesn't mean life won't require effort. But it does mean we're not called to frantic, scattered, exhausting effort. We're called to sharp, intentional, God-directed effort. In 2026, distraction is one of the biggest enemies of diligence. When we don't know what our goals are, when we haven't sat with God long enough to hear what He's asking of us, we can't be relentless — because we don't even know what we're running toward. James 1 puts it plainly: the double-minded person, the one who asks but doubts, is like a wave tossed by the wind. Unstable. Unsteady. Have you ever stopped to consider whether the way you're living is truly aligned with how God designed you to live? Have We Drifted from God's Design for How We Live? Most of us do not intentionally walk away from God's ways. Instead, we slowly drift. We adopt the pace of the world. We take on its priorities. We begin to normalize exhaustion, striving, and disconnection. From the beginning, God designed us for relationship, rhythm, and trust in Him. When we move outside of that design, it often shows up as: Chronic fatigue or low energy Feeling overwhelmed or mentally scattered A lack of peace or direction This is not about guilt. It is about awareness and invitation. The Bible Gives Principles, Not Protocols Scripture does not give step-by-step instructions for every health decision. It does not tell us: Exactly what to eat What tests to run Or which treatments to choose What it does give us are principles for how to live. These include: Rest and Sabbath Stewardship of the body Forgiveness and healthy relationships Trusting God rather than relying only on human systems When these are overlooked, it is easy to look for complex solutions to what may be a simple misalignment. How Culture Shapes Our View of Health and Womanhood Many of us have absorbed beliefs that do not fully align with truth. For example: Believing productivity defines our worth Feeling pressure to constantly achieve or do more Devaluing rest, home life, or time with family In the area of health, we may also: Rely heavily on experts without seeking God first Chase the next solution, supplement, or trend Look for quick fixes instead of building healthy habits This does not mean modern tools or natural remedies are wrong. It simply means they were never meant to replace wisdom, discernment, and a lifestyle rooted in God's design. Why More Solutions Are Not Always the Answer In both conventional and alternative health spaces, it is easy to believe that the answer is one more thing. Another supplement. Another protocol. Another expert opinion. But if we are not paying attention to: How we spend our time The quality of our relationships Our sleep and rest Our connection with God Then we may continue to feel stuck. It might be: Getting more rest Letting go of something that is not serving you Addressing a relationship or choosing forgiveness Simplifying your approach instead of adding more Instead of searching for the next solution, it may be time to respond to what God has already placed on your heart. Understanding the Parable of the Talents and Stewardship In Matthew 25, Jesus shares a parable about three servants entrusted with different amounts of wealth. Two servants stewarded what they were given and multiplied it One servant, out of fear, hid what he was given A “talent” in this context represented a significant amount—roughly 20 years' worth of wages. This wasn't a small responsibility. It was something valuable entrusted to them. In the same way, we've been entrusted with: Our bodies Our health Our time and energy Wisdom we've gained The question becomes: What are we doing with what we've been given? How Fear Can Quietly Hold You Back The third servant didn't lack resources—he was afraid. He described his master as harsh and responded by doing nothing. Sometimes, we do the same. But Scripture reminds us: God is compassionate God is faithful God does not abandon us When we begin to remember who God truly is, it changes how we respond. It can look like: Staying in the same routines, even when you feel prompted to change Choosing comfort over obedience Staying busy but not intentional Letting distractions consume your time and energy Avoiding steps you feel led to take because they feel uncertain Sometimes, it's not that you don't want to feel better. Have you ever felt like God brought you out of something… but you're still not experiencing the freedom you expected? You're no longer where you used to be. But you're not fully where you thought you'd be by now either. In this episode, we walk through the story of the Israelites in Exodus, Numbers, and Hebrews to explore the difference between understandable fear and hardened unbelief—and how that difference can quietly shape our lives. This conversation is for Christian women seeking clarity, peace, and faith-centered wisdom. If you've been feeling stuck, circling the same mountain, or hesitating at the edge of something God may be calling you into, this episode will help you pause and examine your heart with honesty and hope. God's Kindness in the Detour (Exodus 13:17) When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, He did not lead them the shortest route to the Promised Land. Scripture tells us why: He knew they weren't ready for war. If they saw battle too soon, they would turn back. So He led them another way. What we see here: • God is protective. • Delays can be mercy. • The longer path may be preparation. Sometimes what feels like slow progress is actually kindness. God sees what would overwhelm you. He knows what you're ready to face—and what you're not. Standing at the Edge of the Promise (Numbers 13–14) About a year after leaving Egypt, the Israelites stood right outside Canaan. They had witnessed: • The plagues in Egypt • The parting of the Red Sea • God's daily provision in the wilderness And yet when they saw giants in the land, fear took over. Joshua and Caleb said, “The Lord is with us. Do not fear.” The rest of the people grumbled. They talked about returning to Egypt. They even wanted to stone their leaders. They were right there. The issue wasn't that they felt afraid. The issue was what they did with their fear. There is a difference between: “I'm scared, Lord—but I trust You.” And: “This feels dangerous. I'm going back.” That difference kept them out of the Promised Land. What Hebrews Says About Unbelief (Hebrews 3) Hebrews 3 looks back on this story and gives clarity: They were unable to enter because of unbelief. Not because they lacked evidence. Not because God hadn't shown Himself faithful. Because their hearts hardened. This is where the story becomes personal. Where have we: • Seen God's provision but still doubted? • Asked for guidance but resisted obedience? • Called something “wisdom” when it was actually fear? Fear can sound responsible. It can sound cautious. It can even sound spiritual. But when fear leads us away from trust and obedience, it becomes unbelief. Miracles Don't Automatically Produce Trust It's easy to think, “If God would just move in a big way, I'd never doubt again.” But the Israelites saw miracle after miracle—and still complained. In this video I interview Dr. Mark Szabo who had a previous video with the me a few years back. In the original video, we talked about Mark's struggles with weight and his journey towards a carnivore diet. In this update video, Mark shares that he has lost 120 pounds since he started the carnivore diet and has seen significant improvements in his health and well-being. He talks about his experiences with the diet, including his challenges and successes. Mark became carnivore because he realized he always preferred meat and felt better when he didn't eat other foods that didn't work for him. When he first met Stephen three years ago, he struggled with constantly eating and cravings for sugary and floury foods. He didn't think he could go a day without a lot of eating. However, now that Mark is eating carnivore, he has been able to stick to one meal a day and experiences mental clarity, even moods, and more energy along with the fantastic loss of body fat.Thank you so much for listening to my podcast.
