While this softens the blow of the 360 marketplace's closure there are still a massive amount of games being left behind. Physical copies of these games will and in some cases already have seen an increase in value. Digital only games like Rush ‘N Attack Expatriot, Rez HD, Vigilante 8 Arcade, and all of the Arcade Kinect games will be largely left to time, piracy notwithstanding. Here's hoping that the recently rumored renewed focus on backwards compatibility from Microsoft comes to fruition.     - PS3 -While Sony had previously announced in 2021 that it was shutting down its PS3 digital storefront, the company reversed its decision after a backlash from fans. Both the PS3 servers and store remain in operation in 2024.   Thoughts -   Community Couch     JosiahP. — 04/22/2024 10:21 AM Super Mario Maker for the Wii u hit me hard- do you think that revival services like RiiConnect24 or PriiTendo are a good option for revival projects? Eric Plunk — 04/22/2024 10:40 AM I wish I had the foresight to download the Konami Rebirth series of games from WiiWare before the Wii Shop closed down. Every company should make a better effort to preserve and make these games available on future hardware.   adam — 04/22/2024 2:21 PM don't have a story to tell, but instead a meme to share! but it's wild to me that games like the crew can get delisted.   Presto — 04/22/2024 2:48 PM What's your favorite WiiWare game?   Mike Writes — 04/22/2024 4:09 PM Xbox 360 store is going offline in June. We're gathered here today to mourn & celebrate the life of a video game console, Nintendo's last handheld-only device, the small but mighty Nintendo 3DS.As of March 27th, 2023, the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS and Wii U will be officially shut down, meaning 866 Wii U games and 1547 3DS games will no longer be available to purchase. We've already dedicated an episode in the past to the Nintendo Wii U, so today we're taking a look back at our memories of the 3DS: our favorite games to grace the device, StreetPass & other quirky apps, its hit-&-miss use of its signature stereoscopic 3D gimmick, and some last-minute purchases we've recently downloaded & played in the eShop's twilight hours. Plus we wax poetic a bit about the death of digital media, the importance of video game preservation, and the ethics of p*racy & emulation (not that we know what tf we're talking about! we're just two gaymers with a podcast and opinions!) If you're listening to this before 3/27/23, we hope this episode provides a couple of last-minute game recommendations to download! Otherwise... we don't know what to tell ya, but thanks for listening anyways! Good luck finding a physical copy of some of these games on eBay I guess?  RIP to the 3DS. You had a good at it, thanks for your input

Plus, we talk about the much more accurate European and Japanese names for each game in the series.

Hello, and welcome to the Negative World Podcast; a podcast about video-games by the Nintendo fans at NegativeWorld.org. This is the first episode of the new year; the first of many. In it, you'll find that Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) talk with Peter (Octorockin) about the Negative World GOTY Awards for both the Wii U and the 3DS. They use this major site-event to do an overall review of the year 2015 in gaming as well as a look ahead to the Chinese Year of the Mankey, err Monkey… 2016. Some games that are discussed are… Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World Xenoblade Chronicles X, Freedom Planet, Runbow, Fast Racing Neo, Codename: S.T.E.A.M., Stretchmo, BOXBOY!, Tadpole Treble, and Yooka Laylee. However this is just a small amount of games mentioned. There is so much content in this episode! The break music is non-existent as we just keep trucking away. Though, Negative World's site owner and operator, Zero provides the intro and outro. Full list of episodes

Sean is away this week travelling the globe, so Paul and Jon call to Hank (@comicpanels on twitter) to fill the void in the podcast and their hearts in Sean's absence. Hank has been enjoying the new Double Fine turn-based tactic game Massive Chalice, being a cowboy out for revenge in Westerado: Double Barreled and trying to kill God in Devil Survivor: Overclocked. Jon has been in the ink playing a bunch of Splatoon between bouts of Stretchmo and streaming games such as Hotel Mario and Super Castlevania. Paul? Well, he's mainly been doing handheld games and finally started the Phoenix Wright games for the first time ever when he hasn't been addicted to The Witcher 3.In news, Ouya is selling to Razer, Hearthstone adds a cool sounding new Tavern Brawl mode while trying to steal your money for new characters, Xbox One gets a price drop, YouTube competes with Twitch and... In this rather over-stuffed episode, Jon is back to talk about MomoCon and where he's been hiding out for the last two weeks. In the time away, he's been playing Mario Puzzle and Dragons and Stretchmo while Sean finally starts up Axiom Verge. The two also talk at length about Splatoon.
