Right now, someone in your organization is probably feeding sensitive data into an AI system that nobody approved. So when something goes wrong, who's responsible? And more critically, do you even have a policy in place to answer that question? Ron Eddings sits down with his Hacker Valley co-founder, Chris Cochran, now serving as SANS Field CISO and VP of AI Security, to talk about his freshly released SANS AI Security Maturity Model, a practical framework built for security leaders who need to stop philosophizing and start making decisions.  They cover the three pillars of AI security maturity: utilizing AI for defense, protecting AI itself, and governing it across the organization. Chris then gets real about where most enterprises actually stand (hint: not as far along as they think). While the transition to Schedule 3 offers a path to future profitability, businesses must act immediately to file protective claims before statutes of limitation expire. This economic evolution coincides with a significant demographic pivot, as older adults become the fastest-growing consumer group, frequently choosing edibles for pain and sleep management over pharmaceuticals. However, the move toward higher-potency THC products is a double-edged sword, with new studies linking high-strength medicinal cannabis to increased risks of anxiety and psychiatric side effects, underscoring the need for careful regulation and informed medical guidance.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

How Rampant Explicit Material Is Poisoning the Minds of America's Children | Kristen Jenson

American Thought Leaders

“Pornography is like a silent epidemic ... but nobody wants to talk about it much,” says child protection advocate Kristen Jenson. She's the author of the “Good Pictures Bad Pictures” series of read-aloud books that teach children how to recognize and reject pornography. In America, kids are encountering porn at younger and younger ages—often without their parents knowing, Jenson says. Once a child has a smartphone, it is only a matter of time until the child is exposed to porn—often by other children. And it's having a devastating impact on their impressionable young minds, Jenson says.“Every school bus in America is a triple X theater because children are showing pornography to other children in buses. I've heard so many stories of five-year-olds getting shown hardcore pornography on a school bus,” she says.Retroactive studies found that the average age kids first view pornography is around 11 years old, but Jenson concluded from her work and research that the average age is much lower. In our in-depth interview, she walks me through many aspects of porn consumption and how children are impacted by it: How does porn affect children's overall development and their chances of meaningful sexual relationships later on in life? How does porn affect children's mental health? How does it affect their sexual health? Do children get addicted to porn? How are girls impacted by porn? How do sexual predators use porn as a grooming tool for kids?Violent porn, in particular, is a huge problem in itself, Jenson said. By the age of 18, the vast majority of teenagers—about 80 percent—have been exposed to violent porn: “That's the main fare out there. It's violent porn. It's hitting, it's slapping, hair-pulling, strangling.”Many children's perception of sex is poisoned by violent pornography. She told me a story of a girl who was kissed by her 12-year-old boyfriend for the first time: “And he strangled her because that's what he'd seen in porn.”It is perhaps unsurprising then that there has been a steep increase in what is called child-on-child sexual abuse over the last decade. In fact, about 70 percent of all sexual child abuse cases are now child-on-child, she said: “Kids love to imitate. When you add in the factor of pornography ... it is not surprising that some of these children want to go ahead and act out what they see in pornography,” Jenson says.So what should parents do to protect their children?Simply telling your children that porn is bad is not good enough, she said. Children need to be given three basic things: a vocabulary to talk about pornography, a warning against it, and a plan of what to do when they are exposed to it.To help parents in this endeavor, she wrote her book series “Good Pictures, Bad Pictures.” These books, geared to different age groups, are meant as a tool to help parents with such conversations: “The point is to model parents talking to their children. It's really important to open that conversation.”“One of the most loving things that you can do for your child is to give them a defense against not only pornography, but all forms of sexual exploitation,” she says.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

Guest Lucas Fada Panelists Eriol Fox | Victory Brown Show Notes In this episode of Sustain, host Eriol Fox and co-host Victory Brown speak with Lucas Fada, the head of partnerships at Drips Network. Lucas shares insights from his over a decade of experience in early-stage startups, focusing on making open source software projects financially sustainable through strategic partnerships. They discuss the methodologies Lucas employs to secure funding for open source projects, the types of projects that attract funders, and how Drips Network aims to create a 'super app' for funding open source builders. Lucas also provides valuable advice for open source projects on becoming more visible to funders and highlights the essential role of ecosystems like Web3 in supporting open source. Additionally, he emphasizes the importance of moving beyond traditional philanthropy and crisis management in open source funding. Press download to hear more! [00:00:23] Eriol introduces Lucas, and he explains what doing partnerships for Drips Network entails. [00:01:50] Before approaching funders, Lucas shares that Drips looks for people or teams that have already funded OSS or spoken publicly about it. [00:02:56] Victory wonders what kind of projects funders are interested in. Lucas explains funders tend to focus on high-visibility libraries rather than deep dependencies and goes into funder motivations to “give back” vs ecosystem needs. [00:05:17] How can projects become more fundable? Lucas dives into this in two parts and he announces they are building a ‘super app' for funding open source builders. [00:07:49] Lucas elaborates on what package registries could do. One example he mentions is that Drips launched a “Fund Me” button for GitHub repos, like “Buy Me a Coffee” but crypto-based and fee free. [00:09:19] Eriol notes that many projects associate marketing with proprietary, corporate culture, but marketing is really just communication. Lucas suggests the community could develop a shared marketing team that helps projects share their story. [00:10:53] What can funders do proactively to support open source and critical digital infrastructure? Lucas' top advice is: Talk to your own developers. [00:13:07] Why Web3? It's one of the most OSS-driven spaces; blockchains are typically open source and modular. Lucas wants OSS funding to move out of philanthropy/emergency rescue mode into something more strategic and ongoing. [00:15:25] Lucas shares how they are making OSS maintenance a viable elaborating on how Drips is building funding pathways for different stages of an OSS career: Dependency funding, Direct grants, Retroactive grants, and Drips Wave. [00:17:58] Drips is working with UNICEF to create funding mechanisms for several high use Digital Public Goods and how governments in the global south could encourage youth to join open source bounties. Eriol acknowledges skepticism about bounties and highlights their benefits. Accountability has suddenly become selective and the blame war is on. The Comey indictment is already revealing a lot. The veteran guardian of a fragile system. Mining data and crunching numbers. This involves controlling elections. This involves Russian intel and the phone locations of artillery crews. Fancy Bear is code written by Ukrainians at Crowd Strike. John Brennan was the burglar. You financed the Russia hoax. Hacking elections to claim certain software was used. The German servers provided coms. Hunter, his dad, and Obama were all involved. This predates Comey. That whole 911 thing had to be covered up. The FBI awarded contracts involving the DNC server hacks. A cyber security company was at the center of it all. Retroactive code and false cyber evidence. Who's the investigator on this F'g case? Network breeches and valuable data. The RNC was a target too. Who approved the bids? It sounds like a techno-thriller. Full control is usually the only answer. What is Pole Vault 7 again? On paper it makes sense, off paper it makes deals. Thousands of purposeful errors to create illusions. Private partners do all the dirty work. We must all be ready for traitors from within. History proves those are the most dangerous kind.

For years, the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset reduced benefits for those who had rightfully earned them. Now that those policies are gone, many are left with questions. Eddie Holland joins us to help clarify what's changed and what it means for your retirement.Eddie Holland is a Senior Private Wealth Advisor and partner of Blue Trust in Greenville, South Carolina. He's also a CPA, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), and a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA®).A Quick History of WEP and GPOThe Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), enacted over 40 years ago, reduces Social Security benefits for individuals receiving a non-covered pension—a pension from which no Social Security taxes were withheld. This often included employees in state and local government jobs, such as teachers, police officers, and firefighters.Similarly, the Government Pension Offset (GPO) reduced a spousal or survivor benefit for individuals in the same situation. These rules were designed to prevent “double-dipping,” but they often unfairly penalized modest-income workers, sometimes reducing their monthly Social Security checks by hundreds of dollars—or even eliminating their spousal or survivor benefits entirely. The Social Security Fairness Act of 2025That changed on January 5, 2025, when President Joe Biden signed the Social Security Fairness Act. This legislation repealed both WEP and GPO, effective retroactively as of January 2024. As a result:Nearly 3 million Americans became eligible for retroactive benefits.Future monthly benefits for those affected have also been adjusted upward. This marks a significant win for many retired public servants who had long felt the weight of these provisions. What to Expect if You're AffectedThere are two phases of payments:Retroactive Payments – Starting in March 2025, some individuals received large one-time deposits representing the benefits they should have received since January 2024. These payments often arrived with little to no explanation, leaving many confused. Adjusted Monthly Benefits – Beginning in April 2025, Social Security began increasing ongoing monthly benefits for those impacted. It's important to note that these changes only apply to individuals with a non-covered pension, not all civil service employees.Steps to Take if You Think You QualifyIf you believe these changes may apply to you, Eddie recommends two simple steps:Check Your Account Online. Visit SSA.gov to log in to your account (or create one if you haven't already). Contact the Social Security Administration. If your account doesn't show any updates or you have questions, call 1-800-772-1213 or schedule an appointment at your local SSA office to speak directly with an agent. If navigating these changes feels overwhelming, consider consulting a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) who specializes in matters related to Social Security, who can help you make informed, faith-based financial decisions. You can find one in your area by visiting FaithFi.com and clicking “Find a Professional”. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I'm 60 years old and planning to retire early at 62. I'd also like to pay off my house before I retire. Is that a smart move, and is it realistic given my current financial situation?I understand that retiring before my full retirement age will result in a reduction of approximately 8% per year in my Social Security benefit. How do Social Security cost-of-living adjustments factor into that reduction? My grandson wants to be added as an authorized user on my credit card to take advantage of my good credit score so he can get a lower interest rate on a car loan. Is that a wise decision? At what age am I required to start taking distributions from my 401(k)? Also, I have two family members—one with dementia and another recovering from a stroke.
