The film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by John King[1] and the first foray into filmmaking by video game producers Rockstar Games (creators of games such as the Grand Theft Auto series, among others), credited as executive producers. The film was released in the United Kingdom on 14 May 2004.[2]In 2004, Chelsea F.C. football supporters' fanzine cfcuk produced a special edition, titled cfcuk - The Football Factory to coincide with the release of the film.Tommy Johnson (Danny Dyer) is a member of a violent Chelsea hooligan firm. His friends and fellow hooligans include Tommy's best friend Rod King (Neil Maskell), the hot-tempered Billy Bright (Frank Harper), and impulsive younger members Zeberdee (Roland Manookian) and Raf (Calum MacNab). Tommy spends his days drinking, using drugs, womanising and fighting, much to the disappointment of his grandfather Bill Farrell (Dudley Sutton), a pensioner and veteran who plans to move to Australia with his best friend Albert (John Junkin).Tommy has an epiphany about his lifestyle during a fight with the Tottenham hooligan firm. Tommy, Billy and Rod are arrested for assaulting two Stoke City fans whilst travelling to an away match. Tamer Hassan is a British actor, best known for his role as the leader of the Millwall firm, opposite Danny Dyer, in The Football Factory. He was born and brought up in New Cross, London into a Turkish Cypriot family and started boxing at the age of 10. He started an amateur boxing career at the age of 17 and compiled a record of 95-10 with 86 knockouts. Having sustained an injury in amateur boxing, he turned to running nightclubs and restaurants. Tamer joins Steven to talk about the effect of fame upon his family and how he circumnavigates the pressures that come with it, and how he has developed the discipline required to stay at the top of the game. KEY TAKEAWAYS Whether you're in the public eye or not, you have to take a step back from every situation when it comes to your children, and look at it as a parent, rather than a celebrity. Even if you do exist in the public eye, you have to keep it real. Fame can vanish overnight. You need to make sure you're true to yourself and see yourself as a human being first and foremost. Life comes at you very fast, especially when children arrive. The freedom you had as a youth suddenly evaporates, and you find yourself confronted with responsibilities. The great ones step up. BEST MOMENTS 'Kids are kids. They never leave you. They just get more expensive' 'Here should be that structure in place where we do have a support system' 'The discipline does go through to your work ethic and your family ethic' VALUABLE RESOURCES The Steven Sulley Study Tamer Hassan Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/realtamerhassan/?hl=en ABOUT THE HOST The Steven Sulley Study is my take on success. ‘Cancel culture Britain’ continues. With ‘Tom and Jerry’ banned from our screens, the plays of William Shakespeare are under scrutiny because of works such as the ‘Taming of the Shrew’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘Othello’ and the capacity of the Bard to offend. And of course, Sir Winston Churchill. Where once tourists made a pilgrimage to his statue in Parliament Square, we now question whether he is a villain or a hero. But surely he can be both. Had it not been for him, we might be speaking to you in German and we would definitely not be speaking to our guest, journalist Ramsha Khan, at all. She has written an article in Spiked Online this week in defence of Winston Churchill and his reputation, giving an alternative perspective. So, we spoke to her from her home in Pakistan. As a glimmer of light seems to be shining through a truly horrific year, there are many tragic real-life stories behind the daily statistics. There are also many genuinely uplifting stories too. At the beginning of this emergency, PPE was hard to come by and not always of the highest standards. Battling with black-market traders and extortionate prices, Mask Our Heroes set about sourcing masks from across the world. We have heard of many heroic deeds during this pandemic, with Captain Sir Tom raising millions of pounds for charity, to many others working quietly behind the scenes. One of the latter is Tamer Hassan, a tough-guy actor with a golden heart. He came onto Sputnik to tell us about his work with Mask Our Heroes and how they still continue to distribute much needed PPE across the country.
