Full show notes with links and extended info from this episode AVAILABLE HERE Today I'm bringing you an in person interview with a mother, publisher, curator and film shooter, and a personal friend of mine Charlotte Rose Beers who is based about 15 mins away from me here on the gold coast. When Charlotte was in Japan earlier this year she decided to start an instagram page celebrating the work of female film photographers and she wasted no time accelerating that goal to a printed magazine that is now in its third issue and almost sold out. A hard working woman showing us all that an idea is only an idea and we must act promptly and with passion if we want to create community and see our idea come to life. I'm so proud of Charlotte's efforts and I hope this chat inspires you to kick off the new year in a meaningful way. We chat about the why behind the zine, the logistics of creating it, what it takes to curate, how to build a community online using social media but without selling your soul to the algo and how parenthood is the biggest motivator for change in this world. If you are starting out in film or feeling frustrated with the results you are getting then I have a guide just for you. This beginner film photography ebook helps to side step the mistakes and start getting beautiful results from your film rolls!

In The Lost Princess: Women Writers and the History of Classic Fairy Tales (Reaktion, 2023), Dr. Anne Duggan presents a recovery of the lost, plucky heroines of historic fairy tales. People often associate fairy tales with Disney films, and with the male authors from whom Disney often drew inspiration – notably Charles Perrault, the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. In these portrayals the princess is a passive, compliant figure. By contrast, The Lost Princess shows that classic fairy tales such as ‘Cinderella', ‘Rapunzel' and ‘Beauty and the Beast' have a much richer, more complex history than Disney's saccharine depictions. Dr. Duggan recovers the voices of women writers such as Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy, Marie-Jeanne L'Héritier and Charlotte-Rose de La Force, who penned popular tales about ogre-killing, pregnant, cross-dressing, dynamic heroines who saved the day. This new history will appeal to anyone who wants to know more about the lost, plucky heroines of historic fairy tales. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose doctoral work focused on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. In this bonus episode Gary Mansfield speaks to Charlotte Rose (@char.lotteroseart) Charlotte Rose is a self-taught artist residing in North London. In 2021, Rose held her debut solo show, ‘I Quit Last Week', which centred around nostalgic branding from the late 20th century. The sell-out show featured 15 large-scale acrylic on plywood paintings. The aim of the exhibition was to prescribe new truths to old illusions, with each piece being an exploration of the ‘dream sold by ad companies to sell poisonous goods.' Rose's extensive social network and soaring profile has brought her work to the attention of celebrities, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Yung Blud, both of whom have commissioned work from her. Via her art, Rose intends to evoke consumer nostalgia, while challenging its intention. Charlotte Rose is an artist heavily influenced by 60's culture and fashion. Her work pokes fun at the marketing of the era. Bringing in familiar imagery and combining it with other cultural icons to create some impactful pop art. Now with two sell out solo exhibitions behind her, she explains how the lockdown had forced her to move away from a successful modeling career into an altogether riskier artistic one. It was a decision that paid off and now her work is an Enter Gallery favorite
There are few things more human than the desire to be desired, a theme that's at the center of indie songwriter Charlotte Rose Benjamin's LP Dreamtina. The record, which explores the occupational hazards of romantic engagements, charts infatuation in terms that give its central theme the requisite space, while never feeling too somber or overly serious: Benjamin cites Courtney Barnett and Liz Phair as songwriting influences, which bleed into her craft at the necessary moments to make for an album that's even-handed in its approach to dating around NYC. In this episode, I spoke with Charlotte Rose Benjamin about the themes at play on Dreamtina and the stories that informed its ten tracks, which include sitting in the parking lot of a Cumberland Farms, feeling lonely at the party, and what it's like to see your ex show up to a show that you're playing. And as is par for the course, Charlotte was kind enough to regale us with some acoustic cuts from the release—enjoy! ALEXIS GRISWOLD TALKS ONLYFANS AND VEGANISM | Divij's Den | Ep 6. MEET ONLYFANS MODEL AND INFLUENCER LEXI GRISWOLD The rising model and influencer is also a legit sneakerhead who loves Air Jordans. Alexis "Lexi" Griswold is the latest gorgeous influencer to offer content via OnlyFans, and here's an exclusive first look at some of her hottest photos. With nearly 475,000 follower on TikTok and 214,000 more on Instagram, Lexi decided to join the subscription-based content platform during the pandemic and never looked back. While Griswold's OnlyFans has proven to be a cash cow, she's also a bona fide fashion model who has been featured in campaigns for top brands including Fashion Nova, Revolve, and KO watches, to name a few. The fiery pics featured here—lensed by photographers Koda Styles and Roman Novi—show Griswold posing in eye-catching lace lingerie, Brazilian bikinis and the like. But what isn't shown is the self-admitted sneakerhead's impressive kick collection. “My favorite ones are the fire red Air Jordan IVs," Griswold says. "I also love all of my Air Jordan Is—they have the best colorways in my opinion, and it's a classic silhouette. "The Air Jordan IIIs are also high on my list, especially the cements. I just hate that they crease easily on the toe box."Alexis Griswold, an Instagram and TikTok influencer, said she's using the money she makes from followers on OnlyFans to help pay for her parents' rent. The model reportedly joined OnlyFans in December due to the pandemic, making sponsorship deals more difficult. Griswold, who has 473,000 followers on TikTok and 207,000 followers on Instagram, is using some of the money she makes on the platform for her parents. Now she has over 600 subscribers on OnlyFans, from whom she earns about $17 a month. Who is Alexis Griswold? Alexis Griswold says her family is supportive of her OnlyFans career. "I do help my parents out and send them money. I'm really thankful for that. My family, luckily, is really supportive," she told LADBible. The brunette beauty, who lives in Los Angeles, said that even after OnlyFans takes its cut, she is left with plenty to help her folks out with their rent. While some use the platform to post pornographic content, the model uses her page to share Q&A videos and 'more personal stuff' than on her other social media channels. Her profile reads: "Subscribe to see exclusive photos, videos, behind the scenes, get to know me, and more!" A vegan with 'the worst sweet tooth' Her Instagram profile shows her chilling on Cannon Beach, Oregon, with her dogs. She seems to enjoy the rain, the snow, sunset drives, traveling and sailing with friends. Griswold is also a vegan. She shares cooking clips and pictures of food, including vegan stir-fries, plant-based Mexican cuisine from Gracias Madre, vegan ice-cream from Cocobella and oat-based frozen desserts. She also shares recipes of vegan smoothies and immunity shots. She says she has 'the worst sweet tooth'. 'Started as a sexual thing, turned into something else' "It kind of started off as more of a sexual thing, rather than a fan base platform like it was supposed to be; it kind of got turned into something else," she said in a Daily Star report. The model's comments reflect that a number of models, such as former police officer Charlotte Rose, have reaped financial benefits from videos and photos that are not outright explicit. "I'll roleplay and talk to the camera as if it's a guy and cover some fantasies, but it's mostly me talking to them,” she says of her work on the platform," said Griswold to KNewz.

Your Parenting Mojo - Respectful, research-based parenting ideas to help kids thrive
"Do you know what happens to your body when you get older?" "Um...you get hairy in some places?" "Yeah...other things happen too. We'll get you some books." That was what I learned about sex education when I was seven - I was always grateful that I learned it from my parents (who were pretty terrified to talk about it, I think) rather than from the other kids at school. But then the topic wasn't mentioned again until I was about 18, with a vague reference to "being careful" with my first boyfriend, whom I wasn't even sleeping with yet. Friends: we have to do more than this if we want our children to be able to show up in relationships as fulfilled human beings who understand what pleasure is, how to ask for it, and how to give it. We need our children to know that sex does not have to equal intercourse, and that there are a whole host of ways to enjoy our (and each other's) bodies without doing this if we don't want to do it (when they're ready for it!). And we need to help our children understand boundaries so they can protect themselves when they need to - without getting so caught up in the shame that pervades our thinking about sex. (Since the sex = shame narrative is deeply pervasive in our culture I don't think we can overcome it completely, but we can make a start...). In this episode we build on https://yourparentingmojo.com/pleasuremechanics/ (our conversation with Charlotte Rose about sex for us parents) to go (far) Beyond Sex Ed with sex educator https://www.nadinethornhill.com/ (Dr. Nadine Thornhill), whose direct, fun, engaging style will help you to see that you, too, can have conversations about sex and pleasure with your own children. You can find more information on Dr. Thornhill's work on her https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJqQvHjzDtjLEu9IjpUh68Q (YouTube channel) where she addresses topics from what happens if the kid walk in on parents having sex to whether first time sex always hurts, as well as https://www.instagram.com/nadinethornhill/ (on Instagram). Your Parenting Mojo - Respectful, research-based parenting ideas to help kids thrive
Today we build on episodes that we've done in the past on talking with children about the basics of sex (so when you listen to this episode we're assuming you've got the basics covered - things like https://yourparentingmojo.com/captivate-podcast/talk-sex-today/ (using anatomically correct names for body parts) and https://yourparentingmojo.com/captivate-podcast/sexualabuse/ (taking basic steps to prevent sexual abuse)). This is the first in a mini-series of episodes that digs deeper into topics related to sex. Here we talk with Charlotte Rose, co-host of the https://www.pleasuremechanics.com/speaking-of-sex-podcast/ (Speaking of Sex podcast) by the Pleasure Mechanics, about what and how we adults learned about sex. We talk about the shame that pretty much all of us learned to associate with sex (and how to overcome that), and what we can do to improve the chances of having sex with our partner - even if we're feeling so tired that this currently seems out of the question. We're setting the stage here to approach sex from a less pressured, more fun perspective - which will help us in an upcoming episode to figure out what we want to discuss with our children about sex, sexuality, and pleasure. How do you balance creative thinking whilst ensuring you have output? Can you apply the scientific method to art? What is the future of art in an ever more technological world? My guest this week Charlotte Rose Hamlyn, is a renaissance human, whose creative output across various platforms whilst pondering the scientific method would have made Leonardo smile. Charlotte is a published author with Penguin Random House, of the children's graphic novel Opposite Land, screenwriter of various kids TV shows including Beat Bugs, which is one of my all-time Netflix favourites, Host of Channel 7's TV show Get Arty. We jump right into the creative process that Charlotte goes through including a model for getting bad ideas out of the way called the 10 from 10. We discuss how to use the scientific method in the creation of art. As well as wide-ranging discussions on equality in the TV industry, the future of art and as always a view on the utopian or dystopian path ahead. I recommend checking out some of Charlotte's work at www.charlotterosehamlyn.com where you can find insightful how-to videos on how she created the graphic novel Opposite Land, some of her latest animated work for Netflix Motown Magic and lots of interactive content. Charlotte can also be found on Instagram @charlotterosehamlyn This episode will give you insight into the day to day process of one of Australia's leading creatives and might also make you giggle from time to time. I am personally in awe of the fact that Charlotte manages to be at the top of the game in so many areas. As with many of the guests that I have interviewed for the show, Charlotte is clearly very gifted but as you will hear, she is also incredibly dedicated to her craft, has episodes of self-doubt but is continually brave in putting herself and her work out there. Hope you enjoy!

This week we are talking about the article written for us by Erryn Embers on Whorepobia. Rants Where is a good week without a couple of nice rants? Cinema bans single men from screenings of new 50 shades darker film A cinema in Ireland has banned single men from seeing the new "50 shades darker" film on their own. It seems the owner of cinema is terrified of women become too caught up in this raunchy film and won't be able to control themselves. "The film is basically porn for women, going on what the distributors are describing to us." I hate to say this but women have been able to watch porn for a while now, they even great porn made just for. I don't think this is going to do much for them. See the original article here. Anal rape of suspect with policeman truncheon was an accident Police in France have claimed that an officer anally raped a 22-year-old black man with a truncheon by mistake. This happened recently in France and has caused a massive outcry. The abuse of black men by police in the country has been appalling. With feelings over the mess reaching fever pitch. The youth worker suffered such severe injuries to his rectum during an arrest last week in Aulnay-sous-Bois, north of Paris, that he needed major emergency surgery and remains in hospital. But when an internal investigation has concluded with a finding of "insufficient evidence" that the man was raped. To his credit the magistrate over looking this was not happy and has charged one of the police officers with rape and is still investigating the case. Three other officers have been charged with assault and all four have been suspended. See the original article from the Independant. FetLife forced to censor hundreds of groups FetLife was forced to take action after one of the large card companies asked for its card processing accounts to be closed. Their only available response was to get rid of any and all questionably content. It is worrying when a card issuer can force a site to close and give no reason for their decision with no way to appeal the decision. The DailyXtra has a good article covering what happened. FetLife's own response Watching porn in public is harassment This comes off the back of and article that was on this weeks womans hour (listen to it here) and ended up with an article in the Guardian. The basic contention being that some guy watching porn in public is harassing women. Whorephobia Someone we know and have talked to a lot if Charlotte Rose. She is an activist and a sex workers. So it really sickens me when she posted this tweet of what someone was saying to her. It is a great example of Whorephobia. The hatred of a sex worker for no reason other than that they are a sex worker. BBC has just put out a great video of "Things not to say to a sex worker" it is only 6 minutes long and well worth a watch. In this episode of the Brand X Podcast John and Deuce welcome Deuce’s brother Joe to the show for the first time. * Follow up on story from "the Jimmy” episode The motorist who killed a man attacking a state trooper was described Monday by the trooper's boss as a humble, spiritual man who believes God had put him on a desolate stretch of Interstate 10 to save the trooper's life. * John is hooked on The Hunted a new show on Fox * How easy are we to track? * Social Media * Cell Phones * Debit Cards - No One Uses Cash * Video Cameras - are everywhere. * The new Sexbots are ready Men will be able to meet their witty android lover for the first time from April 15, 2017. The sexbot takes artificial intelligence to a whole new level – she is unpredictable and charming...and have the ability to surprise their masters. “Emotional connections are the foundations of relationships and that’s what we are simulating. “And it’s emotions which add the X Factor to sex. I think two people can meet in a bar, have sex the same night and not remember each other’s names and say well that was fun. “But that’s different sex than when you actually get to know someone and you bond with them intellectually and emotionally. “You long for each other and maybe you wait for sex. It is the deeper connection we all crave.” The robot will be great fun, have an incredible memory and the “surprise factor”, the creator added. Men will choose from 12 personality traits including Sexual, kind, shy, friendly, naive and intellectual. There will be a rating system of 1-3 so fellas can choose how strong the characteristic is. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Matt added: “The A.I. is prone to falling in love with you. “But it will depend very much on the selections you’ve made. “The traits will have a lot to do with how it will play out. “She will say things you are not expecting.” Men will be able to embark on a passionate love affair with their kinky cyborgs from the date of release. Once users have set up an account they will be able to access the app on their smartphone, iPad, tablet or computer. And when the fellas are stunned with the racy developments of the robot in the next six to nine months, the app will then sync with the fully functioning sex robots with a "PULSE" to give Men the out-of-this-world sexual experience. Matt said they are looking at a yearly subscription model at around $20 or £15, available anywhere in the world. He added: “It’s really exciting to see where it will take us next.” Dr. Driscoll, from the University of Sunderland, says that robotic, interactive, motion-sensing technology is likely to become more and more central to the sex industry in the next few years. "We tend to think about issues such as virtual reality and robotic sex within the context of current norms. "But if we think back to the social norms about sex that existed just 100 years ago, it is obvious that they have changed rapidly and radically. Robophilia may be alien now but could be normal in the near future as attitudes evolve with technology. "As virtual reality becomes more realistic and immersive and is able to mimic and even improve on the experience of sex with a human partner; it is conceivable that some will choose this in preference to sex with a less than perfect human being.” Dr. Driscoll adds: "People may also begin to fall in love with their virtual reality partners." It's not a new prediction, but the technology has improved at a quicker rate than may have been expected. Back in 2007, artificial intelligence researcher David Levy from the University of Maastricht told LiveScience that people could be marrying robots - and consummating their vows - by 2050. The Realbotix app will be available exclusively from the official website www.realbotix.com. * Pouring one out for Mary Tyler Moore * Mary Tyler Moore died at the age of 80 on Wednesday, January 25, due to cardiopulmonary arrest, according to the late TV actress’ death certificate * Unlike a heart attack, cardiopulmonary arrest means that the heart simply stops beating. This week we are talking about writing your own erotic fiction based on the article created for us by Victoria Blisse. But before we go into that we are talking about what we got up to this last weekend during Sexhibition. Sexhbition For anyone who doesn't know sexhibition is an event that happens each year in Manchester. This year it was at a new venue but unfortunatly we got to see even less of it than ever. We were running our flogger workshop. We have a little moan because if you have ever worked at one of these events you know how much fun it is but it is the hardest you can work over a three day weekend. On the Saturday there was a lot of latex and lingerie on the cat walk, and the Sunday was a lot more about the kinkier side of things. We did manage to catch up with a few people Sheets of SanFrancisco who make the most amazing fluid proof sheets. Ju Ju Jezebel - Makes the most beautiful leather and jewlery. They are off on adventures around the world. Jed Phoenix - Makes just stunning military and japanese inspired clothes. Emmerald Barwise - A lovely group of models who came and made floggers. So nice. Charlotte Rose and Colin Chapman - The first lady of sex is a title Charlotte richly deserves for all the hard work she does. Princess Almighty - Who is just the best Bedroom Taboo - Who we have talked too a ton of twitter we finally got to meet :D Pleasure Cardiff - Does actually listen to the podcast and is always so lovely, and who I now owe a lollypop. Horny Geek Girl - Was reporting on the event and wokring with Sheets of SanFrancisco And well done to everyone who won awards Mark Gorry Foundation They are an amazing group of people who give so much of their time to teaching people about testicular cancer. Something that is so easy to treat but men (and women) have no idea what to look for. We love supporting them and they do amazing work. Check out their website and give something to them, it all helps. Writing your own erotica The most important lesson from the article is just get started. You are not going to be great when you start out and that is OK. You don't have to be. Write something you enjoy and take it from there. I was talking to Quinn this week and she is writing just for herself. Why not. Go and get your dirth thoughs on paper
“I woke up in the hospital…my stomach was…bleeding. My heart had shut off. But a few days later I drank again.” —Charlotte on the tenacity of denial in addiction. On day one of her sobriety—originally a planned 90-day detox challenge—Charlotte had the foresight to document the clarity and anxiety of that momentous occasion. Now, just over 2 years later, she has a dedicated following of what have become infectiously exuberant recovery updates. Charlotte is a professional makeup artist and beauty writer in Derry, Ireland whose experience as a plus-size Wilhelmina Model in NYC led her to question, “What is beauty?” The self-acceptance and self-love that she’s found in the answer has inspired her to work to inspire other women to feel beautiful and confident as a whole person not only for what‘s on the outside. ASMR reading of the classic fairy tale, Rapunzel, written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. Support this channel: https://paypal.me/TomeByTome http://podpage.com/tome-by-tome-asmr Rapunzel is a German fairy tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm and first published in 1812 as part of Children's and Household Tales. The Brothers Grimm's story is an adaptation of the fairy tale Rapunzel by Friedrich Schulz (1790) that was a translation of Persinette (1698) by Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force, which was itself influenced by an earlier Italian tale, Petrosinella (1634), by Giambattista Basile. The tale is classified as Aarne–Thompson type 310 ("The Maiden in The Tower"). Its plot has been used and parodied in various media. Its best known line, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair", is an idiom in popular culture. The tale was published by the Brothers Grimm in Kinder- und Hausmärchen in 1812. Their source was a story published by Friedrich Schultz (1762–1798) in his Kleine Romane (1790). Earlier variants include Giambattista Basile's "Petrosinella" (1634/36), Mademoiselle de la Force's "Persinette" (1698), or Johann Gustav Büsching's "Das Mährchen von der Padde", published a few months before Grimm's version in Volks-Sagen, Mährchen und Legenden (1812). #fairytale #brothersgrimm #fairytaleasmr Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/tome-by-tome-asmr/exclusive-content Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
