On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, we caught up with the Sandra Bullock-Channing Tatum rom-com The Lost City, a delightful tropical adventure (ancient parchment! a volcano! leeches on someone's very attractive butt!). Then we moved to the also beautiful setting of Justin's rehab facility in Brothers and Sisters, for some family squabbling right in front of Justin's peers and therapist. Good times! Next: S1 E12, "Sexual Politics." We'll also check out NBC's reboot of Night Court. Don't make us regret it, NBC.

While Diana and Ryan did watch The Lost City (2022) and have opinions, this episode is mostly tangents about other Sandra Bullock movies. Diana was worried there wouldn't be enough romance based on the trailer. Thankfully she was wrong, but sadly, it didn't resonate with her. A reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure. Stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Brad Pitt, Oscar Nuñez, Patti Harrison, Bowen Yang, Stephen Lang. The Lost City is not a movie that takes itself seriously at all. It leaves plenty of room for laughs at the outlandishness of it all.

Adam discusses the latest adventure rom-com from Paramount: The Lost City.
In the long-standing Hollywood tradition of The African Queen and Romancing the Stone, we have a NEW version of one of those types of stories with this action/adventure rom-com featuring two attractive stars (Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum) on a treacherous quest through the South American jungle to find….the titular "Lost City" of D. Along the way, we also have Danielle Radcliffe as a mad industrialist who has first kidnapped Bullock's novelist to help him find treasure buried within this lost city and….Brad Pitt as a very handsome (!) extraction expert who has been hired to rescue Bullock's character as well. Upon release, one common question about this new major studio film has been, “Does Hollywood really still make these kinds of movies?” But the even bigger question remains: “Does Hollywood even know how to still make these kinds of movies WELL?” Host: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/
