John 7:5 For not even His brothers were believing in Him. Jesus had four brothers and at least two sisters. In this verse, we learn that at the time of these events, none of the brothers believed that Jesus was the Son of God, the Messiah. In Luke 8:21, when Jesus was told that his mother and brothers had arrived, Jesus said, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” They eventually became believers and doers of the word of God. Those special to Jesus are those who take God's word and apply it to their lives. Those who live to love with Jesus are His brothers and sisters. They are doing what Jesus commanded when He said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (John 13:34). He later said in John 15:5 that this can only be done as we abide in Him. I want to encourage you today that Jesus considers you His brother or sister if you are living to love with Him. Unlike Jesus' brothers at the time, you are expressing faith as you love others with Him. Let us rejoice today in being members of Jesus' family, His brothers and sisters who trust Him and do the word of God. I invite you to become a partner in our ministry. It's apparently a hot new trend in home buying. Gen Z brothers and sisters going in together on purchasing a house and living there together. What could go wrong, what you should and should not do when buying a home with a sibling? We'll let you know, this afternoon on the Jon Sanchez Show at 3pm.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. . . . — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 When I was an intern at Roseland Christian Ministries, Phil Walker was one of the first people who befriended me. Recently home from prison, Phil was working at a church summer camp. I was the only white person working there, but Phil made me feel welcome. “This is my brother,” he'd say, with his big arm around me—and he meant it. Phil would invite me to his grandmother Joellyn Walker's apartment after church on Sundays, where we'd eat and watch football. When I arrived, Ms. Walker would say, “Oh, my other grandson is joining us today.” After 25 years Phil and I remain brothers. He's looked after my sons. I officiated at his grandmother's funeral. We've both had our struggles. Ecclesiastes 4 says, “Two are better than one. . . . If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” That's been true for both of us. There's the family you're born into, and the family you choose. I'm grateful that Phil chose me as his brother. I hope you have had a brother, sister, or friend whom God has placed in your life to help you up when you've needed it. Thank God for them, and be sure to tell them and others you are grateful for them. Father, thank you for the gift of friends who lift us up when we fall. Their love reflects your grace. Bless them for their kindness, and strengthen us to be there for others in their times of need. For Jesus' sake, Amen.

"Say hello to Paul for me!" We send greetings like this through others to express love and to maintain a relationship. This is exactly what Paul does at the end of his letter to the Romans. But Paul's list of greetings teaches us more than polite conversation. There's a strong sense of partnership and a deep bond of love. He warns them of those who would cause division and subvert sound doctrine.

The Catechism tackles a few important issues regarding Mary, the mother of God—her motherhood, her virginal conception of Jesus, and her perpetual virginity. Fr. Mike reminds us that, regardless of the opinions of translators and modern theologians, our Faith steers us towards a correct understanding of our Blessed Mother. We tell ourselves we are committed to loving them because Jesus tells us to, but we excuse ourselves for not enjoying or caring for them. But in Paul's closing comments in Romans, we see the gospel transform believers' relationships. Paul cares deeply for these believers, whom he's never met! Love for Jesus and the transformation of the gospel grows us supernaturally to love other believers.

We have a question concerning 1 Corinthians 5:11 where brother Paul talks about keeping company and not eating with a saved individual in the church. We currently do not have a faith believing church to attend in our area. We have searched for several years and when we found you, Yankee and Cucuzza we were thrilled to be able to have true biblical teachings without works for salvation. Our question is, does this matter in Corinthians only apply to a church building (because we are the church as the body of Christ). We have multiple family members (born again believers who understand the gospel of grace). They are living lifestyles of the attributes listed in the book of Corinthians. In the Xinjiang region of western China, the government has rounded up and detained at least hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic groups. Many haven't been heard from in years, and others are still desperately searching for their families. Western governments have called this crackdown a cultural genocide and a possible crime against humanity. NPR Correspondent Emily Feng has been reporting on Uyghurs inside and outside of China for years. In this episode, she profiles two Uyghur men who have found themselves sometimes unwilling actors within the Chinese state's systems of control over Uyghurs. As they work to silence others, they sometimes find themselves silenced as well.
