11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters,[b] if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. 16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God's commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/faith-love-trust--3493635/support.

This week, Tommy is joined by actor Luke Macfarlane! Luke has tackled scripted TV, film, Broadway, and now the unscripted world. He is currently hosting and starring in Hallmark+’s home renovation series, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS, where he is using his impressive wood-working skills to make dreams come true. He recently completed production on the second season of Apple’s PLATONIC, returning in the fan favorite, third-wheel role of Charlie. You also know and love Luke from his breakout role in BROTHERS & SISTERS, starring opposite Billy Eichner in Universal’s romcom BROS, and from 15 beloved Hallmark movies… just to name a few of his credits. Today, Luke opens up about his career highs, why working in television holds a special place in his heart, how he’s now showing the world his passion for wood work, why he wants to keep growing in all different aspects of his career, which superhero he would want to play in a movie, a role he auditioned for that led him to an incredible opportunity he never could have imagined, a franchise that he would jump at the chance to be in, what his relationship with rejection is like, one of the best pieces of advice Seth Rogen ever gave him, why the 40s have given him a new wave of confidence and peace, his journey being an out actor in Hollywood, why he doesn’t mind being asked about being gay, why he is allowing for surprises in life rather than trying to plan everything out, the one thing he hopes his daughter learns at an early age, and so much more. "Say hello to Paul for me!" We send greetings like this through others to express love and to maintain a relationship. This is exactly what Paul does at the end of his letter to the Romans. But Paul's list of greetings teaches us more than polite conversation. There's a strong sense of partnership and a deep bond of love. He warns them of those who would cause division and subvert sound doctrine.

The Catechism tackles a few important issues regarding Mary, the mother of God—her motherhood, her virginal conception of Jesus, and her perpetual virginity. Fr. Mike reminds us that, regardless of the opinions of translators and modern theologians, our Faith steers us towards a correct understanding of our Blessed Mother. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 495-501. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. We tell ourselves we are committed to loving them because Jesus tells us to, but we excuse ourselves for not enjoying or caring for them. But in Paul's closing comments in Romans, we see the gospel transform believers' relationships. Paul cares deeply for these believers, whom he's never met! Love for Jesus and the transformation of the gospel grows us supernaturally to love other believers.
God Exhorts Us: “1) Do not fear; 2) Continue to tithe; 3) Get out of debt; 4) Help our brothers and sisters in need; and 5) Pray” MESSAGE SUMMARY: In the Bible, you can find five exhortations, from the God, that are right on point for our tough times in America: 1) Do not fear; 2) Continue to tithe; 3) Get out of debt; 4) Help our brothers and sisters in need; and 5) Pray. The people in Malachi's day were withholding what was God's, and they were paying a price. But even in those conditions of sin, God said to the nation, in Malachi 3:7, “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?'.”. God does not change – God today is the same faithful Creator of the Universe as He was in the time of Malachi. Return to God, both as an individual and as a nation; and see how God will bless us! Aaron Lee | Undivided Conference 2025 Breakout Session | February 1, 2025 What is it that makes serving together with men and women in the church different than working with men and women in the workplace or in the world? Romans 16:1-2 Luke 8:1-3 Acts 18:24-28 Point 1: As family (brothers and sisters, mothers and sons) Practical consideration: Boundaries Point 2: As fellow workers (to share the same in position or activity, a team) Practical consideration: Giftings Point 3: With physical means (money, hospitality) Practical consideration: Presence and practicality, not just support from afar or in spirit Point 4: With affection (holy kiss) Practical consideration: Care as friends, not just using each other as a means to an end Siblings and Servants: Brothers and Sisters Working Together Before we serve, we are brothers and sisters The church is a place where we get to serve God together Related: https://youtu.be/mG3MJ6wSae8

Our listener asks, “Good morning Brother Jesse! First of all, I would like to say that my wife and I are grace alone, faith alone in Christ alone believers! We have a question concerning 1 Corinthians 5:11 where brother Paul talks about keeping company and not eating with a saved individual in the church. We currently do not have a faith believing church to attend in our area. We have searched for several years and when we found you, Yankee and Cucuzza we were thrilled to be able to have true biblical teachings without works for salvation. Our question is, does this matter in Corinthians only apply to a church building (because we are the church as the body of Christ). We have multiple family members (born again believers who understand the gospel of grace). They are living lifestyles of the attributes listed in the book of Corinthians. Is it wrong for us to not gather with them as well as keeping company and eating?" - Jason HOW TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE : https://youtu.be/t_6L7E_mfIw 5 Tips for a Church video: https://youtu.be/DJhqEj7D4Nw SUBSCRIBE https://www.youtube.com/c/bibleline LIKE https://www.facebook.com/biblelinemin COMMENT ask us a question! On today's Treasured Truth, as we finish up our series on church discipline and restoration, Pastor Ford will highlight an important truth for us. According to him, this is the bottom line—if we are spiritually healthy, then we will love our brothers and our sisters. And if we love our brothers and our sisters, we will not allow them to stay in the far country, back-slidden and away from God. On today's Treasured Truth, we'll look further at church discipline and considering those sins that can capture someone quickly. They didn't expect to do it. They didn't want to do it, necessarily. But the temptation caught them by surprise and it overwhelmed them. The Apostle Paul tells us it's those who are spiritual within the church, who should come alongside the ones who have fallen into this kind of sin like and seek to help restore them. On today's Treasured Truth, as we consider how easily sin can ensnare all of us, we realize that we never know when we're going to need somebody to pick us up after we've sinned. So, Pastor Ford will explain that since we don't need to be picked up right now, what we need to do is to get into a habit of trying to pick up other people and lift others up who need us to do that for them now. On today's Treasured Truth, Pastor Ford will look at an example of a person who was caught in sin, who we can read about in 1 Corinthians 5. Because the church delivered him unto Satan—as the Apostle Paul instructed them to do in this passage—for “the destruction of the flesh,” he repented. But guess what—then they wouldn't forgive him and let him back into the fellowship of the church! So, today we'll see how Paul rebuked that church for being unwilling to forgive. Tim Sheehy, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Montana, delivers an election victory speech on November 5, 2024. Speaking from Bozeman, Sheehy acknowledged “our Native brothers and sisters” in Montana. “It's about time we turn the page on relations here,” he said. “We make sure we get our tribal communities back on their feet economically,” Sheehy said toward the end of his remarks. "We give them sovereignty and agency so that they can succeed economically, grow businesses on the reservation, and have the economic freedom to grow their communities, have prosperity, and have a successful, organic economy on every tribal community in the state.” Sheehy was controversial on the campaign trail for making derogatory comments about Native people. He repeatedly linked them to alcohol and violent activity but refused to apologize when asked by tribes, tribal organizations, Native lawmakers and other advocates in Montana. Sheehy defeated Jon Tester, the Democratic incumbent who was known as a champion for tribal issues during his three terms in the U.S. Senate. His victory helped deliver control of the chamber to the Republican Party.
On today's Treasured Truth, as we continue our look at how sins should be dealt with by the church, Pastor Ford defines for us what a “busybody” is. According to him, that's a person who is “always up in somebody else's video, trying to find out what flavor their Kool-Aid is.” He says that person is in the category of seven things that God hates. What does God hate? The person who sows discord among the brethren—or in other words, they cause division among the people of the church. Learn more when you join us for today's Treasured Truth. As we begin a new study in Galatians 6 on today's Treasured Truth, we'll look at the subject of church discipline. And today we'll consider how matters of private sin or offense, go public too often. So, when we have something against a brother or sister, that's where it ought to stay. We ought not be divisive in the church, taking our complaints to others who have nothing to do with whatever it is that we are concerned about or offended by. In the Xinjiang region of western China, the government has rounded up and detained at least hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic groups. Many haven't been heard from in years, and others are still desperately searching for their families. Western governments have called this crackdown a cultural genocide and a possible crime against humanity. NPR Correspondent Emily Feng has been reporting on Uyghurs inside and outside of China for years. In this episode, she profiles two Uyghur men who have found themselves sometimes unwilling actors within the Chinese state's systems of control over Uyghurs. As they work to silence others, they sometimes find themselves silenced as well. Additional Context: Listen to Emily Feng's 2022 reporting, "The Black Gate: A Uyghur Family's Story" part one and part two. For more on the history of the Uyghur people, listen to the episode "Five Fingers Crush The Land" from NPR's Throughline podcast.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

The Catechism shows us how Baptism unites the Church as a “People of God of the New Covenant” and goes so far as to say that “Baptism constitutes the foundation of communion among all Christians.” We all belong to Jesus, together. Fr. Mike highlights the fact that with the gift of unity in Baptism comes real responsibility. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1267-1274. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.
