The Hives are a Swedish rock band that rose to prominence in the early 2000s during the Garage Rock Revival. Eight years into their career, the Hives rose from garage rock stalwarts to one of the trendiest bands of the early 2000s, along with the Strokes and the White Stripes. Mixing arty contrivances such as a strict black-and-white dress code and the guidance of a (possibly imaginary) Svengali named Randy Fitzsimmons with Stooges-inspired rock, the Hives - Nicholaus Arson, Chris Dangerous, Dr. Matt Destruction, Vigilante Carlstroem, and Howlin' Pelle Almqvist - formed in 1993 in Fagersta, Sweden, while they were still in their teens. I mer än 25 år har musikern, arrangören och kompositören Martin Hederos turnerat med olika grupper och konstellationer. Redan som tolvåring turnerade han i Grums-trakten som spelman. Skidåkning och matlagning står högt i kurs - men det är musik som är viktigast för Martin Hederos. Han var med och grundade kultbandet Soundtrack of our lives och spelar nu i "Tonbruket". Kerstin Berggren träffade Martin i studion i Stockholm. Där trivs han med den 135 år gamla flygeln som har ett underbart mjukt sound och det mycket speciella pianot som låter vinyl, orgeln och fiolen som väcker spelmannen i Martin och folkmusiken som han återkommit till. Nyligen gav han ut sin kritikerrosade soloskiva Piano solos. Han har spelat med tecknaren och konstnären Jesper Waldersten på scenen, ett unikt samarbete i text, bild och musik. Martin Hederos har spelat med Ane Brun, Sofia Karlsson, Nina Persson, Anna Ternheim och många andra. Han har även släppt två duoskivor vardera med Mattias Hellberg och Nino Ramsby. Martin Hederos kan också höras på bio, i Peter von Poehls guldbaggebelönade musik till filmen Korparna.

El cuarteto sueco Tonbruket alcanza su tercera entrega con el fascinante "Nubium Swimtrip". Liderado originalmente por el bajista de E.S.T., Dan Berglund, con los años el liderazgo se ha diluido en beneficio de un colectivo en el que el guitarrista John Lindström aporta la mayoría de composiciones. En esta edición de "Club de Jazz" del 11 de diciembre de 2013 conmemoramos los 450 años del nacimiento del compositor John Dowland con la música de The Dowland Project, proyecto del tenor John Potter en el que participan Barry Guy, John Surman y otros músicos con diferentes bagajes en el mundo de la improvisación. También el trombonista austriaco Christian Muthspiel se suma al homenaje con sus "Seven Tears". En el "Tren Azul" de Luis Díaz García se rinde tributo a Fernando Argenta, periodista fallecido recientemente, y se escucha música de André Previn. "La duda permanente" de Ferran Esteve estrena "La hora fértil" del pianista Marco Mezquida. "desde mi cadiera" Jesús Moreno presenta el proyecto "Amphibius" del trío Hipopòtam. En el "Jazz Porteño" de Alberto Varela homenajeamos al bajista argentino Jorge González 'El Negro', fallecido hace unos días, con la música de Los Swing Timers.
