Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Tyler's Ace Race, behind the scenes from the day, some Oilers talk, and much more. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about the Ace Race, and how frustrated Tyler is that he wasn't able to get the job done for the second year in a row. While there was some close calls throughout the day, the fact that he didn't get a lucky bounce of any kind was every shade of annoying. The guys also discussed some of the behind the scenes stories that didn't come out on the stream.Sticking with the Ace Race, the guys discussed what they thought of the day and what a third attempt might look like next summer if Tyler even agrees to do it. That led to the guys workshopping some ideas on how they could make the event more interesting, or even what other streams they could do with the staff at Nation HQ. Whether it's locking someone in the office or thinking of something else entirely, the reality is that having more Megastreams is definitely something that the boys want to do. Finally, how could they discuss the Ace Race without mentioning... the crow incident. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with the Battle of the Donairs, Wanye's Oilers influencer story, and how this player has pivoted from being a pro athlete into a content creator... or did he? The guys also discussed Tyler's new found itch to travel beyond his rule of nothing more than a six-hour flight. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This episode of Real Life starts as the Tyler and Chalmers Show before Wanye finally makes his entrance, leading to another episode full of random conversations, laughs, and plenty of Edmonton sports talk. The guys kick things off by looking ahead to the upcoming ON Golf Tournament, chatting about the Ace Race, Nation Golf merchandise, and the auction featuring Ryder and Lisa. From there, the conversation shifts to one of the biggest topics facing every industry today: artificial intelligence. The crew debates how AI is changing the workplace, which careers could be affected in the coming years, and whether the technology will ultimately make life easier or create even bigger challenges. The discussion then takes a lighter turn with homemade mosquito remedies, trying to figure out which DIY tricks actually work during Alberta's mosquito season. They also debate the pros and cons of read receipts, catch up on the Edmonton Elks after another impressive performance, and hear Tyler's latest plans for his future hot tub—including why a proper "wet test" might be necessary before buying one.To wrap things up, the guys fly through a rapid-fire round of topics, including Leo Carlsson's contract situation with the Anaheim Ducks, Tom Dundon's Stanley Cup engraving decision, Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James, FIFA controversy, and a final bet365 pick to close out the episode. As always, expect plenty of laughs, off-the-rails conversations, and the kind of random discussions that make Real Life a must-listen every week.

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Tyler heading to Toronto for NHL Free Agency, the Darnell Nurse trade, the Oilers' goaltending trio, and much more. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about the video version of the podcast, and how Wanye just learned that the full podcast hasn't been uploaded to YouTube in over a year. That led to a discussion about TNN's approach to loading videos to the platform, and how much we've learned by trial and error over the last handful of years. While the conversation may have been incredibly nerdy, it's always fun to give people a peek behind the curtain.Shifting gears, the boys got started on a free agency recap about how the Oilers did on day one of the NHL's annual shopping spree, but that was quickly derailed by conversations about literally anything else. Whether it was Kawhi Leonard going back to Toronto, the theories surrounding his return, and whether the NBA has a bigger problem on its hands. The guys also spent some time talking about Vinny Desharnais' massive deal in Washington, and how it's wild that he locked in a bigger contract than Connor Murphy. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with a breakdown of the Oilers' revamped goaltending, the Darnell Nurse trade, and how Stan Bowman did some amazing work that was completely unexpected. After a huge day for the team, it was fun to have a discussion about the Oilers doing amazing work instead of leaving people scratching their heads. Hosted on Acast. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Kris Knoblauch firing, what comes next for the Edmonton Oilers, Tyler's mukbang idea, and much more. The guys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about basically anything they could think of that did not involve the Edmonton Oilers. Whether it was Tyler's tiny tummy or Garrick Higgo showing up late to the PGA Championship, to the snack station at Nation HQ, the guys really avoided the big topic of the day for way longer than expected. Needless to say, the guys did a pretty good job of pushing the Oilers convo down the road. Finally, the boys spoke about the Oilers pulling the trigger on firing Kris Knoblauch early Thursday morning. Given that the news leaked a couple of days ago, no one was surprised when the axe finally fell, but that didn't stop the world from looking at the sequence of events and dunking on the team. Talking about Knoblauch being fired led to a conversation about the summer and what the Oilers need to do to turn the ship around. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with some Family Feud talk, beefs of the week, and another game of 501 where Baggedmilk and Wanye defended their undefeated streak. Even with the big team news that came down today, it's always remarkable to hear the boys avoid topics like absolute professionals. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' potential playoff matchups, Shotty Millz showing up at Nation HQ, best in-person sports, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about Shotty Millz coming down to Nation HQ, and how Tyler didn't seem to find much joy in having the local rapper in the building. As you'll hear, the boys ganged up on Tyler a little bit and questioned his motives for poo-pooing the grind. From there, the boys pivoted to beefs of the week, including Chris Pronger's take on Edmonton, Christmas lights left out year-round, and Alberta's horrible stretch of weather.Changing gears, the conversation turned to the Oilers' potential playoff matchups and how wild it is that we won't know what's happening until after Thursday's game against Vancouver. Not only do we not know who the Oilers will play in Round 1, but we also don't know what day they will even be starting. As far as starting another playoff run, it's hard to get excited just yet when there are so many unanswered questions in the air. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with Rory McIlroy winning the Masters for the second consecutive year, and which team everyone would prefer Edmonton to face in Round 1. The guys also discussed their final attempt at the bet365 first goal scorer challange, and how Wanye and Chalmers need a Hail Mary to get themselves back in the mix. Hosted on Acast. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed their beefs of the week, life hacks, the NHL Trade deadline, Oilers moves, the Nation HQ snack controversy, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a new order of operations: they started the podcast with their beefs of the week instead of wrapping up the show. Wanye started the segment with a drive-thru complaint after his breakfast order was missing both the egg and milk he requested. Jay followed up with a beef of the week of his own after he got told off in traffic for simply occupying his space.Changing gears, the conversation turned to life hacks the fellas have amassed over the years, and how Wanye has a new parking hack at Rogers Place that he refuses to share. Somehow, the parking discussion led to a discussion about snacks at Nation HQ and how a few staffers are being accused of overindulging in the office fridge. As you'll hear, the mission for the boys is to start capturing greed red-handed and turning it into content. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with the Nation Vacation to Vegas, the Oilers making moves ahead of the trade deadline, what they could potentially do before the buzzer, NHL insiders calling trades before they're done, and whatever other random stories and items they could come up with to fill the time. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the winter games, Team Canada in the semi-finals, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the winter games, as Tyler kicked off the podcast by admitting he's watching the curling semi-final as Canada works to punch their way to the final. Chalmers, however, hasn't been able to get into the games outside men's hockey, and it was a fascinating change of pace for the guy who even downloaded an app to find out what time things were showing.Changing gears, the conversation turned to Team Canada's quarter-final win over Czechia and how remarkable it was that no one noticed the Czechs had 6+ players on the ice for that third goal. While it was definitely a mistake by the officiating crew, it was also baffling how none of the Canadian players or coaches noticed and called it out. They also discussed what Canada needs to improve on as they face Team Finland in the semis on Friday morning. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with what everyone's plans are for the rest of the men's hockey tournament, including the events schedule for the next couple of games. They also discussed the upcoming Brunch for Ben that's happening at the end of February, and this is an event that you absolutely want to be at. From there, the show really devolved into nonsense, as the guys decided to the to tell old stories about peeing their pants. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' disaster, the Milan-Cortina Games, scandals at the games, beefs of the week, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the Winter Games in Milan and how it's wild that these cities have to build all kinds of infrastructure for a three-week period. Somehow, talking about the Olympics led the boys to discuss Connor McDavid winning the Scholastic Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons when he was in Erie. Eventually, the fellas got around to McDavid's debut with Team Canada, and how No. 97 was shot out of a cannon for the first game.Changing gears, the conversation turned to sports that you won't see in the Winter or Summer Games, including the new sport where two giant men run into each other at full speed. As you'll hear, the boys clearly love the Winter Games and were not shy about sharing their admiration for these athletes. Sticking with the Milan Games, the guys ran through some of the wildest headlines so far and ranked them by their general absurdity. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with beefs of the week, Leon Draisaitl's spectacular debut, copyright laws for the games, and how athletes are forced to do commercials just to afford their participation. Even though it was just Tyler, Baggedmilk, and Wanye, the boys covered a lot of ground in the Thursday episode of Real Life. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Given that this specific location was part of his daily routine, it's a real problem for Wanye, and now he's concerned about which spot will take up his time and commitment. Talking about a closed coffee shop led the boys to talk about their favourite places to get a cup of joe.Changing gears, the conversation turned to foods the guys don't like as adults, foods they hoped they would have come to appreciate as they got older. As you'll hear, two of the boys have some interesting quirks with their food preferences, while the other two will happily eat whatever is in front of their faces. The most important part of the conversation is that the boys are all over the map about what they'll eat and what they won't.Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with some Oilers talk, as the team looks for their first three-game winning streak of the season on their 10th attempt. Given that the San Jose Sharks are in town and Macklin Celebrini is having a MVP-calibre season, tonight's Pacific Division battle feels like a huge test for an Edmonton club that has lost as many games as they've won. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Philip Rivers' return to the NFL, Morgan Wallen = Drake, Jay's list of traffic tickets, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about Tyler Yaremchuk's wedding and how we're finally able to release his Oodle Noodle ad from the ceremony. As you'll see, Tyler nailed the ad copy to open up the speeches, and the video is hilarious. Shifting gears, the guys discussed Philip Rivers' return to the Indianapolis Colts after a five-year absence. Needless to say, this is one of the wildest sports stories in recent memory, and we won't have to wait long to see how the experiment goes. Changing gears, the conversation turned to music after Wanye noted some dramatic weight loss in the music industry lately. With Ozempic so prevalent, it's hard to imagine there's no trade-off to losing weight so easily. That led to the boys talking about their annual Spotify wraps, and Chalmers' theory that Morgan Wallen is basically the Drake of country music. Somehow, talking about music led to Jay telling the story of the recent run of tickets he got yesterday and how he now has to deal with a wide list of infractions. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including a look at anything other than the Edmonton Oilers. Needless to say, when the team is as bad as they've been lately, talking about literally any other topic just seems more enjoyable. As always, the Thursday episode was all over the map, which is precisely what you'd expect from the Real Life podcast. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
