There is one show where insiders share their secrets in this city. One person that they trust and respect. Opinion, reaction and the highest level of informed sports talk in Montreal. Melnick in the Afternoon, with Mitch Melnick.
It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Tristan Jarry's injury, the Oilers' recall of Isaac Howard and Quinn Hutson, additional injury updates, line combos, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Connor McDavid's 17-game point streak and whether this is the best the boys have ever seen him play. Given that the captain has produced a mind-boggling 41 points over that stretch is absolutely ridiculous, but is this the best hockey he's ever played? There are a few options to choose from. Regardless of your thoughts, there is little doubt that No. 97 has gone supernova, and none of us wants him to walk away from the table.Shifting gears, the guys looked at Thursday's win over the Jets and how Winnipeg looked so shell-shocked as the game rolled along. Given that the Oilers were down 3-1 after 20 minutes and came roaring back to win, you have to appreciate the way the boys didn't fold their hand. And while some argue that they should beat the Jets because of how bad they are, expecting to win and fighting back from a 3-1 deficit are two different things. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season now past the halfway mark, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Thanks for tuning in Washington Capitals fans! The Official Caps Chirp Podcast on The Hockey Podcast Network is back with another incredible Monday episode. This week the NHL trade market was just blown open as the Pens moved Jarry to the Oilers for Skinner and Quinn Hughes netted a huge return for the Canucks as he heads to Minnesota. League wide we'll also have some injury updates that could have Olympic implications. Your Washington Capitals did not have the week they wanted escaping this last week with only 1 point in the standings. The Metro Division is still an absolute bloodbath and this lack of points has seen the Caps drop to the 3rd division spot. We'll talk all about this and more in this episode so make sure you tune in! Chuck issues Ashley a challenge she gladly accepts! It was all about the DUMPER as the Mariners celebrated Cal's push to be the allstar starting catcher and we will continue that celebration today. We also have to celebrate Randy Arozarena's 2 homeruns last night as he was the real star of the game. It seems like Arozarena may be fixing some of the things he was doing that annoyed us. :30- Mariners Morning After The Mariners got a 6-2 win over the Royals last night behind some solid pitching by George Kirby and the bats of Randy and Cal. :45- NHL free agency starts at 9am this morning and we were hoping to be on Marner watch in a few hours. NHL Trade deadline talks heat up full 1649 Wed, 05 Mar 2025 18:06:31 +0000 X0de0LVrCFMSTTmvu5mVIdsOobpcrmoM sports One Bills Live sports NHL Trade deadline talks heat up For over three decades, Bills legend Steve Tasker has been a staple in the Western New York community. A standout on special teams for the Bills during his 12 seasons with the team, Tasker made a name for himself around the league. Not only did his outstanding achievements on the field earn him numerous accolades, his commitment to the region solidified his place in the hearts of Bills fans everywhere. Tasker, who remained close to the game through his broadcast work for CBS, will get back to his roots with Buffalo when he joins the Voice of the Bills John Murphy as co-host of “One Bills Live,” presented by Kaleida Health. Like its predecessor, “The John Murphy Show,” “One Bills Live” will give fans a daily dose of the latest Bills news. The only show live from the home of the Bills – One Bills Drive – fans can follow along with Tasker and Murphy, as well as special guests, as they tackle all the hottest topics happening around the NFL. The show will remain at its current time from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be available on WGR Sports Radio 550, MSG Networks and the MSG Go app.Murphy, who over the years has developed a close relationship with Tasker, believes the Bills icon is the perfect addition to the show. “I've known Steve since he came here in 1986,” said Murphy. “Shortly after that, he started doing television shows. When I was at Channel 7, he hosted “The Steve Tasker Show” and I was the co-host…I've known him for 30-plus years. One of the many good things about Steve doing the show, is he's a broadcaster. He's been at CBS for 21 years at the highest level of football broadcasting.“He comes in with all that experience – all his football experience, playing at a very high level for several years and making Pro Bowls. Adding in his broadcast background, which is pretty impressive, I think it will make him a great addition to the show.” While Tasker's impressive resume undoubtedly gives him a unique perspective to share with viewers, Murphy believes that its Tasker's time spent in Buffalo that makes him truly special and able to connect with his audience.“Steve always impressed me," said Murphy. “Not that players aren't tuned into the reality, but Steve has always been tuned into real life. He knows what it's like not to be in the NFL. He lives his life like a person who is not a former professional athlete in many ways. He's easy to relate to. I think fans already know that. Fans are familiar with him from all the TV work he's done. He brings an everyman aspect to the show and he's committed to this area. I think people tap into that.” For Tasker, this next chapter in his career is one that he's ready to embrace fully. “The Buffalo Bills have been a tremendous part of my life and I am very eager to begin this opportunity,” said Tasker. “This is an exciting time in franchise history and I am thrilled to get involved on a daily basis. I look forward to working with Murph to connect with Bills fans who have been so supportive of me for a long time.” 2024 © 2021 Audacy, Inc.
