Terror Strikes Joseph M. Lenard pt 1 http://terrorstrikes.info/ ()Ever since 911, terrorism has been on the minds of Americans, off and on but never consistently. Proof, let just say, “Oklahoma City Bombing” and, for those old enough to remember, it just sparked a memory. Or “Waco Massacre” and you can visualize the live newscasts. There are others. Since COVID started, there has not been much coverage of “terrorism” or “terrorist threats.” It seems as if the media grew tired of covering these things and would much rather dwell on lockdowns and things like that. Many Americans also feel as if this nation is somehow immune to major attacks. But that is not the case. Not at all. To help illustrate that point and to bring this awareness to the forefront again, my guest today has written a book titled, https://amzn.to/3zasYFP (“Terror Strikes: Coming Soon to a City Near You.”) Joseph M. Lenard a Christian author with a very non-traditional Christian book, published by Illumify Media. Joseph hails from Michigan (which is where I was born and raised) and has been involved in Michigan politics and activism since 1978. The first question I always ask is, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Joseph M. Lenard?” You're from Wyandotte, Michigan. I know right where that is at. I'm from Marysville, just up the coast of the thumb about 50 miles, just south of Port Huron. You've written other books in the past. What makes this book so special and why did you believe this is the right time to release https://amzn.to/3zasYFP (“Terror Strikes?”) Your book is not just about terrorism, is it? With “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” basically, this is a book for any red blooded American that still loves this country, correct? You mentioned the media has shied away from covering anything related to terrorist activity in the United States. Why do you believe they are not covering this anymore? Do you believe it has something to do with what we see happening (or not happening) down at our southern border with Mexico? And the politics involved with that? You state there was one recent exception to that lack of coverage. Tell us about that one instance (and then what happened)… Who is the target audience that you wrote this book for? You discuss the Torah, the Koran and the Bible in your book, correct? How do you present these three different views in your book? What does the term “GIJIAS” mean in your book? (Global Islamic Jihadists Interim Army Soldiers). You say that this is a “book within a book.” Can you explain what that means and how it was used in your book, https://amzn.to/3zasYFP (“Terror Strikes?”) In your research for the book, who did you discover is mainly financing these terrorist activities? Folks, as Joseph Lenard has stated, terrorism has not gone away just because the COVID virus shut things down. The news just took it off the headlines. The problem is still there. They are still coming for us. You need to get your own copy of Joseph M. Lenards book, https://amzn.to/3zasYFP (“Terror Strikes: Coming Soon to a City Near You.”) Go down into the show notes and get your copy today. With Life being a complete ball of chaos we push on to keep putting out Episodes for you guys, But we are sorry for the wait!
In lockdown we are ALL on our phones more - scrolling through Tik Tok and Instagram seeing more and more images of supposedly lives and perfect bodies. We are all talking on ZOOM and FaceTime - meaning we are seeing ourselves (unfiltered) more and more! The self critic is at full throttle (for teenagers and parents alike!) Nadia & Mark talk about trying to help YOUNGSTERS feel POSITIVE about their BODIES ... and the ways in which SOCIAL MEDIA can be both a bad place AND a good place when it comes to stopping negative thinking. With Life in Lockdown resulting in us all losing the impetus to look after ourselves - at what point should we (as parents) POINT out to our teens that they are looking out of shape or not caring for themselves - and at what point could this run the risk of damaging their mental health?! Find out answers to these questions and many more in this episode of Confessions of A Modern Parent. They take questions and suggestions from listeners on their experiences in parenting roles. If you have a parenting question or suggestion for Mark or Nadia, you can get in touch at: Twitter @mark_adderley
[11/15/2020] "With Life" comes from John 14:6. It is the tenth sermon in an 11 part sermon series called "Overcoming the World." It was preached by Pastor Zak Crosby at Mission Covenant Church on November 15, 2020.
Firmin DeBrabander is in conversation with columnist Dan Rodricks. With Life after Privacy: Reclaiming Democracy in a Surveillance Society, Professor of Philosophy at Maryland Institute College of Art Firmin DeBrabander explores the role that privacy does and does not play in today’s world. Even though people do know that their every move is watched and recorded online, why do they still share everything that happens to them on social media and are so careless about virtually sending along their own personal data? We no longer have privacy, but do we really need it or want it? DeBrabander aims to understand the prospects and future of democracy without any privacy (or very little of it) within a society that does not know how to appreciate and protect it. Firmin DeBrabander is Professor of Philosophy, Maryland Institute College of Art. He has written commentary pieces for a number of national publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, the Atlantic, LA Times, Salon, Aeon, Chicago Tribune, and The New Republic. Professor DeBrabander is also the author of Do Guns Make us Free?, a philosophical and political critique of the guns rights movement. Today as I've been sitting with others, accompanying them on their journey, there was a light rain that came through. The air is much warmer, as spring is arriving here, and it smelled fresh outside. It feels like new life is ready to bloom. This new life preparing to bloom is happening for a lot of us as we have been experiencing life much different than it used to be. There is a sense of stabilizing. Many of us in positions of leadership have needed to work diligently in order to maintain our capacity to monitor our environment, and that of our team members and those that we are responsible for taking care of. As well as being more expansive reaching outside of our inner circle to be a resource for the extended communities in our world, creating places where there are safe zones. There are finally beginning to be places where we can trust it is safe. It's just beginning. I want to acknowledge that for many of us, when we are younger, there is an inner resiliency that we have, and we believe we are invincible, that nothing can get us or hurt us. For those of us who are older, we can remember those times, and we can monitor the environment for the younger ones too, doing our best to maintain safety for all. When we want to create safety for all, we also need to be sure we are slowing down and taking time to connect with our own hearts, with our own needs. Because we are not going to be able to be a resource if we are depleted. And when we are ‘on' monitoring all the time, being busy because there is so much to do, we can fall into that pattern of not consciously checking in on our own sense of self. I want to encourage us to slow down and to take that time to “BE” in our experience and create a little more room for ourselves. As we come down from being so busy, some of us can feel a sense of loneliness. There might even be a sense of loss of precious time that we value so much for self-connection. Because when we take time to deepen into self-connection, deepen our roots connecting with life, we can tap into our joy. That joy juice, it's sweet. It really brings the joy up in life to abide there, we need to nurture ourselves to abide there, and we need to be met there by others to celebrate our joy. As we are navigating this time in our world, we are trying to find our way to come into balance. We want to be able to be a resource, to be busy monitoring and attending to things, and we want to be able to slow down and come into our sense of self and relax to rest and digest. There is a balance that we need, each of us to find our own inner rhythm with Life. Some of us are wondering as we are looking for our balance, “Am I doing enough?” Some of us are making donations to front line workers. We have so many people that have stepped up to be resourceful for other people. Then there are others that are supporting those beyond their own inner circle, and there are those who are supporting the emotional well-being of others and their people. There are so many different layers of support that is needed. So, we sit with, “Am I doing enough?” Another question I ask you to consider is, “Am I being WITH LIFE enough?” Am I taking the time to be with life in the present moment? Or am I caught up in the clouds of my thoughts, my plans and my thinking? Those are important, I'm not dismissing them, and, it's important to rest in the Being of who you are and to take time to acknowledge what you need. As we take the time to come into that inner balance, we can begin to sense a new beginning that's beginning to open before us. A new path coming out of the confusion and the stress of this virus that has traveled our whole world. For many of us have been touched by the loss of extended family members and that creates a different ripple. It's a ripple we can slow down as we begin to touch into the depression, the sadness, the grief. We need to name it and meet it gently. As we sit with it, we can feel it soften within us. When we can

From April 2nd to July 8th, 2019, on the occasion of Miart 2019, Fondazione Adolfo Pini will present the exhibition THE ACCURSED HOUR, by Carlos Amorales, curated by Gabi Scardi. Carlos Amorales is interested in language, images and their transformation. More generally, he takes an interest in communication systems, their constant renewal, their potentialities and pitfalls; as well as the mechanisms that allow particular narratives to emerge at the expense of others; and, by extension, the issue of dominant representation, the manipulation of communication and thought. In his work visual art, music, animation and poetry converge, all interpreted, with great formal rigor, through a deep awareness of the present time and its tensions. For Fondazione Adolfo Pini, Amorales has conceived the exhibition THE ACCURSED HOUR, which focuses on his life-size installation Black Cloud and on various elements from the project Life in the folds. The exhibition will also include silhouettes and other works by the artist, in a continuous shift between images and signs. With Black Cloud, a swarm of thousands of black butterflies will invade the premises of the Foundation starting from the staircase at the very entrance. 15,000 butterflies will populate the new and the already existing spaces of the Foundation. With Life in the folds, the artist will scene the theme of human violence against other human beings. A kind of violence that lies deep within and that can explode in unjustified ways. The project also includes an animation video that tells a dramatic story while at the same time showing the hands of a puppeteer moving the characters' threads: a metaphor of the mystification to which history and our own actions are subjected, both whether we are aware of it or not. And origins of our ghosts, to recognize their scope, matrix, and ideological value. After presenting the five site-specific projects The Missing Link by Michele Gabriele, Materia prima by Lucia Leuci, Memory as Resistance by Nasan Tur, Labyrinth by Jimmie Durham and SUMMERISNOTOVER by Šejla Kamerić, with this new exhibition Fondazione Adolfo Pini continues its journey into contemporary art, under the guidance of Adrian Paci. Carlos Amorales Carlos Amorales lives and works in Mexico City. He studied in Amsterdam at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (1996–97) and Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (1992–95). He has participated in artistic residencies at the Atelier Calder in Saché (2012) and MAC/VAL, Vitry-sur-Seine in France (2011), and as part of the Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship program in Washington, D.C. (2010). His works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Carlos Amorales represented Mexico at the 57th Venice Biennial with the project Life in the Folds (2017). Gabi Scardi Curator and contemporary art critic. Her research focuses on the latest artistic trends and the relationship between the arts and other close branches of knowledge. She worked with numerous museums and institutions in Italy and abroad, including: the Province of Milan; Pac Museum in Milan; Museo del Novecento in Milan; Pirelli Hangar Bicocca in Milan; MAXXI Museum in Rome; Venice Biennale; Royal Academy of London; Louisiana Museum in Copenhagen. For Fondazione Adolfo Pini she curated the exhibitions Memory as Resistance by Nasan Tur (2017) and Labyrinth by Jimmie Durham (2018).
