In 2018 and '19, Jackson was an assistant at Your Call Football, an interactive competition in which participants call plays in real time for a series of live exhibition American football games with players, some of whom have played in the NFL or CFL. The participants watch the game via live streaming media and use a smartphone app to select the plays.      From 2013 to '18, he was an assistant coach/coordinator at Savannah State (Ga.) while the Tigers were NCAA Div. Whether it is his struggles with a reading disorder or his fight against cancer, Merril Hoge has spent his entire life overcoming the odds. Before Merril Hoge played eight seasons in the NFL, he got his degree in education. Since then, he has mentored countless young people through his charitable work and his own coaching. In this episode, Merril shares his experiences in the classroom and on the football field and how it's important to help kids “find a way”.  Merril Hoge is an eight-year NFL veteran and a former analyst for a variety of ESPN programs. Hoge is an inspirational speaker, who speaks all over the country, impacting people and companies to grow through self-reflection and taking action to Find Their Way. He is also on the board of the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research and was a member of the NFL Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Committee. Goodman comes to KU after working as the Director of Player Development at Florida International University since 2021, where she helped develop players for their life after football. Prior to FAU, Goodman worked for the Green Bay Packers, where she served in the role of player engagement. With the Packers, Goodman was responsible for administrative support in the development, implementation, and execution of the player program. She assisted the rookies with voter registration and absentee ballot requests and conducted presentations and interactive discussion on healthy and unhealthy relationships. She also was instrumental in Green Bay's second career transition program and helped to coordinate activities for support staff, coaches, and player engagement of the NFL mandated objectives. She jumped into the role in 2020 after serving as a player engagement consultant from May of 2019 until July of 2020. Goodman bridged her work as the director of player development with Your Call Football and Merril Hoge, a developmental league. Your Call Football, a technology company, focused on former NFL coaches and players, in an effort to showcase the Your Call app, while developing professional football players from the arena football, CFL and the NFL. Goodman gained her strength and conditioning experience as a graduate assistant for the University of Nevada, Reno, a position she served from January of 2010 through April of 2011. She gained her Bachelor of Science degree in 2009 from Humboldt State with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in psychology.She then earned a Master of Arts in 2011 from Nevada-Reno with a focus on educational leadership.
