Fly Eagles Fly!The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs to win this year's Super Bowl. As a Pennsylvania native, I've seen the passion from Philly fans since I was a child. Watching them dominate this past Sunday, I had Randall Cunningham memories flooding my mind. For former Eagle and Oregon Ducks' Hall of Famer Kenjon Barner, he too was going down memory lane this weekend. A member of the Super Bowl LII Champions in 2018, Kenjon holds a special place for Eagle fans and the City of Brotherly Love in his heart. He shared the impact of that team on the latest episode of the Y-Option podcast, sponsored by our founding partner 76.Barner, a 3-time Super Bowl champ, is one of two players in NFL history to have Super Bowl rings from 3 different franchises (along with Matt Millen) and each one was unique. From Philly when he was a return specialist to New England the following season when he was not even on the roster during the Super Bowl to being in Tampa Bay during the COVID season with Tom Brady, the path that Barner was on to garner 3 rings is as unique as any in the NFL.Like every player, Kenjon also navigated the transition from playing to life off the gridiron. Now, he hosts the podcast Ducks of a Feather, alongside former Oregon All-American running back Jonathan Stewart, where they share insights and analysis on the reigning B1G champions.Overall, our conversation is a positive listen for any player navigating recruiting while also providing a lens on life through the eyes of a player who has been at epic highs while navigating life post playing career and the natural lows that come with that.Hope you enjoy today's conversation with my colleague, friend and former Oregon Duck, Kenjon Barner.Much love and Stay Steady,YogiThis episode is executive produced by Jim Thornby and edited by Victor Ren.This podcast is a Best Coast Media productionY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. We jump aboard this NFL season's biggest bandwagon with a look back at one of the league's most enduring, yet historically mediocre franchises - and the only club operational for the entirety of the post-AFL era to never appear in the Super Bowl. Bill Morris ("The Lions Finally Roar: The Ford Family. The Detroit Lions, And The Road To Redemption In The NFL") joins the podcast to help us wallow in the colorful, but supremely confounding history of pro football's Detroit Lions - especially during the last 60+ years of family majority ownership begun in earnest by William Clay Ford Sr. back in 1963. From the "Curse of Bobby Layne" to Billy Sims, from Barry Sanders to Matt Millen, and from the Pontiac Silverdome to 2008's historic 0-16 season - it's all here! Plus, we speculate whether this year will finally see the Lions return to NFL championship glory. + + + SUPPORT THE SHOW: Buy Us a Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/goodseatsstillavailable "Good Seats" Merch: https://www.teepublic.com/?ref_id=35106 SPONSOR THANKS (AND SUPPORT THE SHOW!): Royal Retros (10% off promo code: SEATS): https://www.503-sports.com?aff=2 Old School Shirts.com (10% off promo code: GOODSEATS) https://oldschoolshirts.com/goodseats Yinzylvania (20% off promo code: GOODSEATSSTILLAVAILABLE): https://yinzylvania.com/GOODSEATSSTILLAVAILABLE BUY THE BOOK (AND SUPPORT THE SHOW!): "The Lions Finally Roar: The Ford Family. In this episode, I talk with Srinath Sridhar, CEO & Cofounder of Regie.ai, who has always been ahead of the AI curve. Sri and his co-founder Matt Millen started Regie.ai in 2019 with the idea that GPT-3 would transform how all of us write emails. Today, Regie uses AI to automate sales prospecting for the enterprise. The company's Auto-Pilot automates most of the repetitive tasks involved in demand generation, including writing sequences, scheduling calls and responding to emails. Sri knew in early 2019 that LLMs would be a game-changer. What he didn't know was exactly what product to build. In this episode, we'll dig into the details of how he did it.

In this episode of The AI for Sales Podcast, host Chad Burmeister speaks with Matt Millen, co-founder of Regie.AI. They dive deep into the impact of AI on the sales process and how Regie AI is revolutionizing sales engagement. Matt shares insights into his personal background, his love for cars, and how his experiences in racing taught him valuable lessons in sales. They discuss the evolution of technology in sales and the two patterns that have emerged: problems that technology solves and problems technology creates. Matt explains Regie.AI's mission to improve sales processes by using AI to generate personalized content and messages, saving time and enhancing engagement. He emphasizes that AI helps salespeople be both better and faster, enabling more refined targeting and freeing up time for high-value tasks. The conversation delves into the balance between AI and human interaction in sales. They discuss the importance of building trust and how AI can assist in crafting personalized messages that resonate with prospects. Matt emphasizes that AI tools like Regie AI provide support to salespeople, but the human touch remains crucial, especially in building relationships. Matt sheds light on the concept of "simple automation" versus "advanced automation," where AI-driven decisions guide human execution. He introduces Regie AI's dynamic sequencing feature, which tailors engagement based on prospect interactions, allowing sales reps to focus on engaged prospects. The episode concludes with a discussion about ethics in AI. While ethics is a consideration in AI development, Matt mentions that it rarely arises as a topic in customer conversations. He highlights the growing acceptance of AI-generated content and the role of experience in shaping perceptions. Overall, the episode provides valuable insights into the evolving landscape of AI in sales and the transformative potential of AI-powered tools like Regie.AI. KEY TAKEAWAYS AI's Role in Solving Sales Challenges: Matt discusses the role of AI in addressing sales challenges, particularly in content creation, personalization, and engagement. He highlights the problems technology creates and solves in the sales process.Benefits of AI in Business: AI enables businesses to become better and faster in their operations. It enhances personalization, automates redundant tasks, and provides insights for more effective engagement with prospects.Balancing AI and Human Interaction: While AI can handle tasks efficiently, the podcast emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between AI and human interaction. The human touch is crucial in building trust, especially in complex sales processes.Understanding the Prospect: Regie AI helps sales professionals understand prospects' personalities and communication preferences through AI-driven profile analysis, allowing for more effective communication.Automation Trends: The podcast discusses the shift from simple automation, where humans make decisions and technology executes, to advanced automation, where AI-driven decisions guide human execution. This shift leads to more data-driven insights and effectiveness.Ethics and AI: Ethics in AI is briefly touched upon, but the conversation suggests that ethics hasn't been a primary concern in the sales context. However, it's highlighted that AI ethics are more relevant in areas like hiring and strategic decisions. QUOTES "With all the infusion of technology into the selling process, there are two patterns that emerge over time. One pattern is the problems that technology solves. The second is the pattern that technology creates, the problems that get created by technology.""AI allows us to be both better and faster. Better in terms of the kind of content that we're using, the leads that we're engaging, and faster because the AI is taking a lot of these redundant tasks.""Your A players will always be your A players. What we're getting with technology, AI, not AI, is that sales is a crime scene and there are clues everywhere.""We've gone from simple automation, where the human being is making the decision and the technology is helping to execute, to advanced automation, where the machine now is making the decision and the human being is executing at the task level.""We're moving from content generation and AI to task execution in AI, and this is a game-changer.""Ethics just does not come up on customer calls or sales calls. There's more of an acceptance, a curiosity with the business application." Pro Football Hall of Famer and longtime Fox Sports broadcaster Howie Long joins Trey to discuss his tough upbringing in Charleston, MA, playing his college ball with the Villanova Wildcats, his transition to play for the infamous Oakland Raiders teams in the 1980's, his impressions of legendary owner Al Davis, a great story about an altercation he and Matt Millen had with Patriots front office executive Pat Sullivan, what spending his entire career with the Raiders means to him, the accomplishments of his sons Chris & Kyle (NFL) and Howie (college lacrosse), the origins of his 29-year career with Fox Sports, his familial bond with Terry Bradshaw, and his foray into acting in Hollywood movies with John Travolta, Tom Hanks and others.
Hour 4: We talked about Matt Millen and then also talked about trash talkers on the field. Gio wonders if players will trash talk Deshaun Watson but Boomer doesn't think so. OBJ to the Cowboys or the Giants? A pitch will definitely be made by the Giants today. Jerry returns for his final update of the morning and starts with the Knicks loss to the Bucks and the Nets win over the Wizards. KD talked about playing carefree. Trent Dilfer is the new Head Coach at UAB and gives a very honest press conference. Russell Wilson talks about reports that he's lost the locker room. And the Rangers won last night over Ottawa. In the final segment of the show, we talked about the murder victims in Idaho where they still have very little information. Boomer likes the Patriots tonight. Too many Buffalo injuries and New England is desperate. Gio is tipping the garage guys $20 each time.
Hour 1: The Yankees have an offer in for Aaron Judge somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 million for eight years. The Giants will have to do something unprecedented to get Judge based on the California tax situation. Gio says the Giants will make a better offer and he'll go back to the Yankees to see if they make a better one. Jerry starts with the Knicks losing to the Bucks and the Nets beating the Wizards. Quinnen Williams is happy the Jets are still playing meaningful games. Patrick Peterson says Kyler Murray only cares about Kyler Murray. Jets' James Robinson is not happy that he's not getting playing time with the Jets. CJ Uzomah said Zach Wilson addressing the team meant a lot. Russell Wilson talked about losing some of the locker room. The Rangers beat Ottawa. Stephen A. Smith was late for his TV show and Chris Russo was not happy. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about the movie trailer for Cocaine Bear. What's more likely, the Giants to make the playoffs or to lose out the rest of the way? Hour 2: Rob Saleh mic'd up went around Instagram yesterday. In one clip he tells Mike White, ‘have fun today dog'. Gio said that must drive Zach Wilson crazy. Mike White could be in a great situation this week as the Vikings pass defense is pretty terrible. Gio said their defense is ‘down to the nubs'. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Knicks losing to the Bucks. Gio compares the Knicks to Phantom of The Opera. It's the same show year after year. The Nets beat the Wizards but Kyrie wants to be more efficient shooting. Lebron asks the media why they haven't asked him about the Jerry Jones photo. Chris Russo screams about OBJ keeping people from their connecting flights. Gio said Russo was obsessed with travel itineraries. And the Rangers won. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talks about traveling to see your team and then they get blown out like the Vikings did in Dallas. Hour 3: Gio is going to a charity event on Sunday to watch the Jets/Vikings game. Wayne Chrebet will be guest bartending. Gio said the CEO of Miller's Ale House called Peter Schwartz and gave him gift cards. So Peter ended up getting what he wanted. We took a few calls on LeBron James asking the media why they didn't ask him about the Jerry Jones photo from 65 years ago. Jerry returns for an update and starts with CJ Uzomah saying that he and Mike White listen to ‘Big Booty Mix'. He also talked about Zach Wilson getting emotional while addressing the team. Aaron Rodgers was asked about sitting out the rest of the year if they're out of it. Patrick Mahomes doesn't like being compared to Manning and Brady as they've played a long time and he hasn't yet. The Bucks beat the Knicks last night and the Nets beat the Wizards. The Rangers beat Ottawa. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talks about the Liver King, a guy who eats like a caveman. He claims he doesn't take steroids, but it turns out he was taking steroids. They also talked about eating tripe and bone marrow. We also talked about tonight's Bills/Patriots matchup and what it means for the Jets. Hour 4: We talked about Matt Millen and then also talked about trash talkers on the field. Gio wonders if players will trash talk Deshaun Watson but Boomer doesn't think so. OBJ to the Cowboys or the Giants? A pitch will definitely be made by the Giants today. The long, illustrious list of teams the Bears have beaten in the Super Bowl begins and ends with the mighty New England Patriots. But there's so much more to know about them. For instance, why did Matt Millen punch out their general manager on the field after a playoff game? How did the Sullivan family go bankrupt just a year after Super Bowl XX? They sold the team to a guy who sold it in disgrace just three years later, but what savvy guy bought their stadium out from under them in bankruptcy court? Who was James Ornstein and why did he only own the team for two years? What does Bob Kraft like to do to unwind before big playoff games--wait, let's not talk about that. Who almost drafted Tom Brady before the Patriots could get him? Why did Bill Parcells quit after taking them to a Super Bowl and why didn't Bill Belichick take over then? Why am I typing in all questions? We unearth a rare Bears win this series and neither of us could remember that it ever happened. We also re-live the first of two humiliating defeats in the final days of the Marc Trestman era that bookended a bye week. Yikes. We talk about Belichick tying Papa Bear George Halas' all-time wins mark, and Bill nerding out with Ed Reed about what Belichick insists is the greatest play he's ever seen a free safety make. And, we come to the definitive answer on who was more instrumental in the Patriots' dynasty, Belichick or Tom Brady. Plus, why Michigan could never just make Tom their starting quarterback. All that, and more. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/desipio/message

The 2022 NFL Draft is upon us, so the last episode of season 4 of Conversations with features a chat with former Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand. Since the Lions have always been a story on draft day because of their success, or a=lack thereof, I thought Tom would be a perfect finish to this season. Lewand took over the Lions presidency after the Matt Millen era. He and GM Martin Mayhew tried to put the pieces together after that period. It wasn't as successful as Tom wanted, and while he was relieved of his duties, his story is still a remarkable rise from a student manager on the University of Michigan Football teams of Bo Schembechler, to a CEO and President of an NFL franchise and beyond that, a CEO for major corporations. A native Detroiter and lifetime Michiganian, Tom was the point man to get Ford Field built, and he is still at it in the business world as CEO of the Marygrove Conservancy. He is a fascinating guy, with a fascinating history and you can hear about all of his various triumphs and experiences in this Conversation with...Tom Lewand

The Brandy Show's wide ranging discussion about our beloved Detroit Lions continues with Part 2 of our Conversation with Bill Keenist, retired long time front office staff member with the Lions. In this second part of our chat, we delve a little more deeply into one of the more difficult era's in Lions history, the Matt Millen era. Why Matt's hiring didn't work is up to debate, but it is clearly a period of history for the Lions that is a lightning rod for fans and NFL pundits. Bill Keenist was in the middle of it all. So enjoy this chat about the Millen era and much more in part 2 of my Conversation with...Bill Keenist.

Enjoy a chat with one of the most interesting and polarizing sports figures in Detroit in many years. Matt Millen came from the broadcast booth, after a spectacular football career that featured Super Bowl wins, to run the Detroit Lions. He was going to bring the Lions back to greatness...well, that never happened, and his tenure became a turmoil in Detroit that ended with Matt's firing. Despite all that, he is a fascinating sports figure. His life story is remarkable. He is a heart transplant recipient. He is back to the national level as a broadcaster. He is a master woodworker. His football history includes the likes of Joe Paterno, John Madden, Marcus Allen and many more. He is also a really good guy. If you find yourself around him, you find yourself liking him. Enjoy this amazing personal story in my Conversation with...Matt Millen
Joel Walkowski is on the podcast to talk about why the Detroit Lions suck! Horrible ownership and management have plagued the team's existence for a lifetime of fandom. Joel talks about how this may be the worst era to be a Lions fan (stiff competition, I know), the Ford family, Matt Millen, Matt Patricia, Detroit sports culture, the Lions JFK Conspiracy, and more. He even convinces Ethan that Matthew Stafford is a pretty decent guy!
