The two main types of life insurance are term and permanent (which includes IUL and whole life). When doing a side by side comparison, term insurance is always going to be cheaper. However, there are a few other factors to consider to truly get a good comparison. And the one that costs less may surprise you. First, keep in mind that the price and the cost are two different things. The price is what you pay. We call that a monthly premium. The cost is less obvious. When you start a career as a life insurance agents, there are some things that matter and many things do not matter. Pricing is the one thing you have that they want. Until you show pricing, you have their curiosity. As soon as you show it the meeting is over- you either have a sale or you don't. So it's important that you don't screw this part up.
