Maison Louis Marie (20:00) was founded in 2012 and has never taken on investment, which, according to the married couple behind the brand, Marie du Petit Thouars and Matthew Berkson, has allowed it to focus on slow and steady growth. It is profitable and does not spend excessively on influencer marketing. "We want to be careful with the brand. We really want to create a legacy brand," Berkson said. In 13 years, Maison Louis Marie has grown to sell eau de parfums, perfume oils, candles, diffusers, body wash, lotion and deodorant, among other products. It entered Sephora in 2017. A little over six months ago, it opened its first dedicated retail space, at Platform, an open-air shopping center in Los Angeles's Culver City. According to the founders, Maison Louis Marie's community members love the space and the chance to shop the brand's full collection — a smaller selection of products is carried at Sephora. "People want to smell [things IRL] — yet what each store can carry is so limited, as there are so many brands," said du Petit Thouars. "[At our store] the customer is so excited to [discover] all the things we offer that they're not aware of and to be able to touch, smell and look," said du Petit Thouars. In this week's episode of the Glossy Beauty Podcast, Sara Spruch-Feiner speaks with Berkson and du Petit Thouars about how Maison Louis Marie is meeting the current moment of fragrance mania, how it's working to attract a younger audience with its soon-to-launch hair and body mists, and what drove its first-ever celebrity endorsement. But first, co-hosts Sara Spruch-Feiner and Lexy Lebsack chat about the different ways customers discover new products nowadays, including ChatGPT's updated shopping capabilities, Wirecutter's new beauty vertical and Ulta Beauty's program transforming its salespeople into content creators.

RSV, a common respiratory virus, can be especially harmful for infants. But this past winter brought promising news: two new preventive measures became widely available — a vaccine given in pregnancy and antibodies given to newborns. Together, they led to a major drop in RSV hospitalizations among infants. Which is good for both families and taxpayers. And in the next installment of our "Buy Now Pay Later" series, we look at tackling credit card debt before retirement.

New Hampshire is known for its high volume of alcohol sales, thanks in part to the low-tax liquor stores along our state borders. Being labeled as the number one state for booze may not be a point of pride for Granite Staters, but it's an important part of our state's economy: taxes on liquor and beer provide 5% of unrestricted revenue in the state budget. This year lawmakers are working on several bills that aim to boost alcohol sales – and hopefully boost our bottom line. Listen as hosts Anna Brown and Mike Dunbar, of Citizens Count break it down in $100 Plus Mileage. This podcast is produced in partnership with Citizens Count, Granite State News Collaborative and The Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communications at Franklin Pierce University.

In this episode of PING, Professor Cristel Pelsser who holds the chair of critical embedded systems at UCLouvain Discusses her work measuring BGP and in particular the system described in the 2024 SIGCOMM “best paper” award winning research: “The Next Generation of BGP Data Collection Platforms” Cristel and her collaborators Thomas Alfroy, Thomas Holterbach, Thomas Krenc and K. C. Claffy have built a system they call GILL, available on the web at https://bgproutes.io This work also features a new service called MVP, to help find the “most valuable vantage point” in the BGP collection system for your particular needs. GILL has been designed for scale, and will be capable of encompassing thousands of peerings. it also has an innovative approach to holding BGP data, focussed on the removal of demonstrably redundant information, and therefore significantly higher compression of the data stream compared to e.g. holding MRT files. The MVP system exploits machine learning methods to aide in the selection of the most advantageous data collection point reflecting a researchers specific needs. Application of ML methods here permits a significant amount of data to be managed and change reflected in the selection of vantage points. Their system has already been able to support DFOH, an approach to finding forged origin attacks from peering relationships seen online in BGP, as opposed to the peering expected both from location, and declarations of intent inside systems like peeringDB.

Four New Ways The Walls Are Closing In On Bryan Kohberger, With Attorney Eric Faddis Could a PhD in Criminology Actually Teach You How to Get Away with Murder? When your Amazon history includes a combat knife, a face mask, and a sheath—months before a quadruple homicide—you're either preparing for the world's most intense cosplay... or something a lot more sinister. In this episode, Tony Brueski and former felony prosecutor Eric Faddis dissect the increasingly bizarre puzzle that is the Bryan Kohberger case. From mysteriously missing phone data to swapped license plates and 4 a.m. trash runs in gloves, prosecutors allege Kohberger wasn't just committing murder—he was trying to commit the perfect one. But how perfect can it be when your alibi is "I was looking at the stars" on a night that was completely overcast? Faddis breaks down how the defense might spin Kohberger's criminology background, the infamous “how-did-you-feel-while-committing-a-crime” Reddit questions, and even the alleged attempt at a rap career (because why not add that to the mix?). With surveillance footage, forensic detail, and odd behavior stacking up, the real question becomes: Is this a case of calculated evil or just a whole bunch of really terrible coincidences? Can an autism defense neutralize the weird—or just make it weirder? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimePodcast #CriminologyStudent #HiddenKillers #TonyBrueski #AutismDefense #IdahoMurders Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
