If there is a biohazard waste spill at your facility, you need to get the job done right - or hire a professional service. If you aren't experienced in biohazard cleanup, it's better to call an expert. They know what they're doing, and they'll be able to perform the task with utmost safety and precision. Here are some tips to keep in mind when hiring a biohazard cleanup company.Hiring a biohazard cleanup companyThe importance of hiring a biohazard cleanup company cannot be overstated. You have probably heard of biohazard cleaning services from someone close to you. These services are required by law to handle such situations, and they should be fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Additionally, a biohazard cleanup company should have the proper tools and equipment to safely and adequately remove biohazards. Finally, you should look for company personnel that is empathetic and professional. Ask for pricing information, and don't be afraid to ask questions. You don't want to be charged a high amount for services that are not worth it.A biohazard cleanup company can assist victims with the difficult task of cleaning up biohazards after a traumatic event. The technicians in such a company are trained to handle such situations and have the necessary equipment to get the job done correctly. A biohazard cleanup company can provide odor control services, as well. The best thing to do is to talk with the biohazard cleanup company and ask them for a quote. After the police have completed their investigation, the biohazard cleanup crew can begin working. They will conduct a thorough site assessment and will need the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and supplies to safely and effectively handle biohazards. They will also need to create containment barriers to separate contaminated areas. These barriers will prevent cross-contamination and keep the contaminated area visually shielded. Biohazard cleanup professionals understand the emotional impact of a fire or flood, and they will speak with a sympathetic tone of voice.Safety proceduresBiohazard cleanup requires special training and certification for employees to prevent exposure to biotoxins. Employees must follow safety procedures, including providing appropriate PPE and Hepatitis B vaccines. Inappropriate handling of biohazards can cause injuries, illness, and lawsuits. Using a professional biohazard cleanup service is a much safer alternative. Today we explain the specific steps to follow and what to do during a biohazard spill.Upon arrival at a biohazard cleanup site, the cleanup crew should be equipped with extra PPE. First, close doors. Then, remove any contaminated clothing and dispose of it in a biohazard disposal bag. Next, disinfectant should be sprayed on the contaminated surface for the appropriate contact time. Disinfectants are effective in killing infectious diseases. In addition, they can be used to disinfect surfaces and prevent future exposures to biohazards. If the spill is caused by blood, disinfectants should be used to clean it up. Choosing the right disinfectant for the spill is critical. A broad-spectrum biohazard cleanup solution should be applied to the spill site. The disinfectant must be applied after proper ventilation. Once the disinfectant is applied, the area should be allowed to soak for at least 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the used towels should be disposed of.CostThe cost of biohazard cleanup depends on several factors, including the amount of blood and any blood-borne pathogens involved. The surface type will also influence the price, as will the use of PPE. For example, special flooring or materials require more attention than common household surfaces. In addition, porous materials will pose an additional challenge. All of these factors can add up to an extra 10 to 25 percent to the overall cost of biohazard cleanup.Biohazard clean-up costs increase significantly in BSL-4 situations, which is the most dangerous level. Biohazard professionals charge anywhere from $150 to $600 per hour to clean up these situations. They must wear full-body suits, wear protective equipment, and perform a decontamination process after every day. It's also unlikely that a homeowner could safely clean up a BSL-4 situation themselves. Some homeowners' insurance policies cover biohazard cleanup, but the amount covered will vary. You can contact your insurance company for details, but you'll likely pay a deductible before receiving reimbursement. Biohazard cleanup costs can run into thousands of dollars, so shopping around is essential. Many biohazard cleaning companies offer payment plans and charge a small portion of the total cost upfront. For example, a typical residential biohazard cleanup may cost between $1,800 and $4,000, depending on the project's scope.Contact us:Biohazard Service Pro515 S Main St, Little Rock, AR 72201(501) 244-3993
We've been receiving four to six hundred calls a day, that are strict COVID-19 and related. It's hard for me to describe exactly how chaotic things are right now. We're doing fifteen Cornavirus disinfections a day and throughout the country. We are on the front line and we're goinginto the hot zones of infected areas to have a coronavirus building cleaning. We'll go into a scene after a crime a suicide unattended death or in this case with the COVID-19. Confirmation of a positive case and we will make sure that the environment is disinfected of the virus the bacteria and the blood bodily fluids or even tissue. We are received, I would say anywhere from four to six hundred calls a day and they're coming from businesses large and small name brands mom and pops. Another thing that we were seeing a swing at our individual homeowners wanting us to come and remediate their houses, so when we go into to an environment that needs to be decontaminated by the coronavirus they'll have the personal protective equipment on and they'll have gloves, I'll have booties, 'll has a respirator and they will also have our disinfectant which is an EPA.CDC approved proprietary disinfectant that we use as clean towels that are disposed of as waste. After we're working on the high touch areas first it's because of the infectious nature of the virus viruses and protein it sticks to a surface. The actual viral and the protein can live on a surface for up to 17 days and know that airborne, it can be floating around. So to speak for three hours on, the copper and life span for hours plastics are two to three days, the great unknown though is on fluorine. Final porous surfaces such as couches and chairs have not tested as to what the lifespan might be and it could be up to 17 days. They say, your order for delivery food and it comes in a container. I would wipe them down and honestly, 'd keep them outside. There's a couple of websites on to wipe down your groceries and how to wipe down. You produce one and would be that just, open your windows and let the place air out. It's been stated that the virus on certain surfaces could live up to 17 days, so do not take the advice and the material that is used to disinfect. Do not throw it in the garbage because the coronavirus can contaminate could be living on the towels and that could be alive and someone's empty in the garbage and puts their hand in. There is some risk there and if you don't do the social distancing, then you're playing with fire. Maintain social distance even with your family. There have been a number of high school kids who have no symptoms but were tested positive and they've since transmitted it to other members of their family. There is nothing magical out and it's the notion to disinfect and clean or wash your hands and use the disinfectant or wipes on surfaces that are common to individuals like the island of your kitchen, around your sink the bathroom. Sink, we're seeing if it's called unattended death on the uprise and that's when someone is found. After a few days, they had died and that's elevating because of shelter in place. One of the core reasons for the any came into existence is through the AIDS, epidemic individuals want to make sure they were able to be really confident and that any blood-borne pathogen like HIV was killed and we've always viewed ourselves as second responders to COVID-19, the strange thing about it, it seems to be incredibly contagious and there is global and a national pandemic and think that's unparalleled, since the time of maybe World War two.
Hey guys, we are live from our animal quarter here and we are taking a break for hoarder cleanup services. It is intense, there is an enormous amount of human and animal feces. Three dogs were confiscated and removed from the home homeowner. Single female living by herself in this house and it's been like this for over 10 years. What do you think of this house in terms of normal stuff like all the animal hoarders that you've done and stuff? What do you think is it? Scale from one to ten and how bad is it? Would you agree right? Can you describe, as best as you can? The smell, can you smell it through the respirator?Every now and then, you can just hose them off right but disinfectant sanitizes. For the most part, you're not wearing under tiebacks and I need to discuss it. This dumpster here like just kind of the stuff that we've thrown away and this we have on this job for seven right. At that furniture, you can describe how difficult it was to shovel this stuff. Up in the house, it's tile and it was like concrete. The only thing we can do in here is snow shovel and it's great, it pretty much adds okay, then we're gonna need a couple of people in here to fill in the holes. Pack this tight and we need to get up in there, the holes look big dumpster. This thing is huge and it has six-foot sides and it holds 25 cubic yards of trash and we have a second one. When we're done filling this one up, so we can be prepared. Look at this waste, believe it or not, we were asked to keep this chair that's been pooped on and peed on and I had to negotiate my way here, not keeping that on the floor or anything else had to stack. So let's take a look at here, at the garage and I'm gonna be very careful because our client is here and of course I want to protect her privacy and her identity. We were allowed to do here is to look at the dogs and we're trying to get out there. You can see dog cages dogs, everything and everywhere. For those of you who just joined we are live here from Pinellas County Florida and we are at an animal hoarder cleanup and it is intense, so this is a multi-day project. The floors alone are the feces turned into concrete, so we are trying to get that done and you can see it and we will check back here when we make so a little more progress but I can smell this from the street, 's pretty bad the ammonia is pretty bad. Hoarding is a disease and these people are actually highly-intelligent and they are they just suffered from a traumatic event that caused them to hoard and they're deeply depressed and they need some help, so we are here to to help as best as we can and that's what we do.
Santon was falling behind, so we just arrived on the scene of a biohazard recovery or decomposed. We're going side and we're gonna prepare to remediate the biohazard situation. So when we come inside your home and some of the things that we do and we take pictures. Of the way of the house, you see that when we leave the houses we found the only room we want to work, that room has been affected by your loss. So we walk around the entire the other property, we take photos and we do all of those things necessary to ensure you that nothing will be molested and that is not a part of the affected area. As we walk into the scene we see that the loss occurred here in the master bedroom. On the bed, we want to identify the areas that we need to clean. In this space, we see that the mattress has been affected and we need to determine how much has been affected. We have blood-soaked pillows and foot of the bed and the head of the bed we have and we need to clean up the blood. We come over here and we have some blood splatter on the back of the wall here and we can see that the box spring down here below has been affected, as well so there's a great potential that underneath here. There's a lot of blood on the box spring now, I don't want to lift the mattress just yet because we still haven't removed the pillows and I don't want to have bio contaminated area adjacent to the bed. Before we have had an opportunity to remove any potential biohazard from falling to the other side, one of the things that we want to do before we start is we want to set an area with a safety zone or an OSHA regulated area for us to decontaminate ourselves. Before we move to other areas of the house if someone needs to use the bathroom and before we leave this area, what we want to do is we want to check for all biohazards that could be contained in the space of the loss. I guess the paramedics when they recovered the body that was on the bed and has been tossed here to the side. So, we want to make sure we capture these items and we place them and mark them for biohazard disposal.I'm going to get down on the floor and I'm going to check under the bed and determine how much bile has seeped underneath and now, unfortunately, there's property underneath the bed shoes. Workout equipment that has probably been affected by any biohazard that's seeped through the mattress and the box spring. So we want to take care of that as well, but the most important thing other than is making sure we remove all potential hazards, we want to make sure that our client understands that we are here to help and we're not here to make them feel that their property is at risk or there's any threat of additional loss whether it be financial or property. We just want to take care of the area with minimal disruption to the family and get the house back in order. Now there's a horrible smell associated with any death and this apparently went undiscovered. For sometimes the whole house is full of the odor of death, so once we take care of the biohazard area we want to remediate for the older one and do odor remediation, that can consist of a number of things. So we want to take care of that as well. So when the family returns home they're coming into a house that's been cleaned that's pristine and that they can smell the loss of their loved ones. One of those things that are important for us is to make sure that we're taking care of first hand, so we're gonna wrap this video up and we'll shoot another one a little bit later as we start working through the process of remediating the biohazard.
Hey guys. I'm Siobhan, a 3rd-year medical resident. You've probably heard lots of bits of information about coronavirus. Some of it's true, but some of it is so misleading. So in this video, we're gonna go through a summary sticking with the facts about what you need to know about Covid-19. Coronavirus is a whole family of viruses that have little spikes on the surface that look like a crown, which is how it got its name. You've probably heard of other types of coronavirus. There was the SARS coronavirus and the outbreak was in 2002. There was the MERS coronavirus, with an outbreak in 2012. And there are actually a lot of other types of coronavirus, but they don't have special names and they just cause the common cold. The virus we're dealing with is called SARS-COV-2 and the disease that it causes is coronavirus disease 2019 Or COVID-19 for short.Bats are actually a natural reservoir for many viruses, so the virus can actually replicate inside the bat without making it sick and then the bat passes it on to other animals, and then finally that gets passed on to humans. And that is what happened in Wuhan, China. After the first person was infected, the virus got passed from person to person to person by people coughing and sneezing. Did you know that in just one cough it can spray 3000 droplets that can go all over the place? If you get smacked in the face by someone's cough, you can get a direct transmission of the virus. But if it lands in the air, the virus can land on a particle and stay floating there for up to 3 hours. If it goes on to a box, a cardboard box, it can last there for about 24 hours. And then if it goes on to plastic, it can be there for 2 to 3 days. So let's say you get in touch with the virus and then you rub your face and then you get infected. What happens next? When the virus enters the body, it uses those proteins on its surface, the ones that look like a crown, to get into our cells. Those proteins are like a key that unlocks receptors on the outside of the cell.We believe that it's specifically the ACE 2-receptor on our lungs that coronavirus is using to get inside our cells. Once the virus is inside, it then releases RNA, its genetic material, and it tricks your cells into making copies of the virus. So your cells actually become like a factory producing thousands of viruses without even realizing it. So at the beginning when the virus is replicating, you don't actually have any symptoms yet. And this is called the incubation period. It's different for lots of different viruses, but in the case of SARS-COV-2, we think that the incubation period is 4 days. Four days where you've been infected and you don't have symptoms yet. As the virus was spreading, doctors in China started seeing more and more pneumonia and one doctor, in particular, Dr. Lee wen Liang, became concerned when he saw 7 viral illnesses that reminded him of the SARS outbreak in 2002. He immediately started telling his colleagues that he was concerned, but 4 days later the authorities told him to stop spreading false comments. But the number of cases continued to grow and on January 9th China Central Television officially announced that there was a new coronavirus. At this point there were at least 50 people with pneumonia and the first fatality, a 61-year old man passed away. To complicate things Wuhan was a major hub for travel in China and it was less than 2 weeks away from Chinese New Year's when there's lots of travel and this huge celebration. By January 23rd Wuhan was officially in quarantine. Nobody in or out of the city at all. But unfortunately, 20 people had already passed away from the virus. It seemed like every day we were hearing about new cases of SARS-COV-2 in different countries. It was sweeping the world and the World Health Organization labeled this outbreak a pandemic. So what kind of symptoms are people actually presenting with? So we're lucky that we've got information coming out of China to know what to prepare for and what to expect. So the most common symptoms are fever, sore throat, cough, some shortness of breath. And we look at the fever. People who are coming into the hospital, only about 43% of them had a fever. When they were in the hospital about 88% of them developed a fever. So what that tells me is that if you don't have a fever, it doesn't guarantee that you don't have coronavirus. Less common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea in about 3-5% of people. So that's what you need to watch out for: Fever, cough, shortness of breath. And I know what you're gonna say: ''But that sounds like the flu, that sounds like a cold!'' And you're absolutely right and that's what makes this so tricky. So if you do get mild symptoms: Cough, fever, sore throat. What you should do is actually stay at home, don't panic and pick up the phone and call your health care provider, rather than going and sitting in waiting rooms and public transportation and spreading that virus everywhere. If you are quarantining yourself at home while you're sick but you live with other people, try to have like a sick room to decontaminate the coronavirus. And in that room you try to stay there most of the time, you have your own dishes and utensils, try to use your own bathroom and if you have that option. Just to prevent the other people in your house from getting sick. And the most important thing is to really be monitoring your own symptoms and seeing if anything is getting worse. So seeing if you're getting really short of breath if you're getting chest pain that's not going away or if you find you're getting really high fevers, you're getting confused or even having a blue-tinged lip. All of that would be signs that things are becoming quite severe and you should be going to the emergency department. Okay, I just want to say this one more time. For most of us if we get Covid-19 we're going to be okay. Don't panic, most of us can recover at home. We never need to even see a doctor or go to a hospital and you'll be just fine. We just have to watch out for those severe symptoms. But unfortunately, some patients do become critically ill, so let's talk about that. What's happening? What they develop is something called acute respiratory distress syndrome or ARDS. And this is a condition where the lungs develop so much inflammation and damage, that it becomes difficult to get oxygen out of the air through the lungs and into the red blood cells. There are actually lots of things that cause ARDS, things like sepsis or pneumonia, even pancreatitis. So in the ICU, we're actually really familiar with how to treat these patients. What you do is they often require intubation. So a tube down the throat, lots of oxygen.Sometimes you need to paralyze and sedate a patient, even flip them over onto their stomach so that you can expand the lungs without injuring them and get more oxygen into the back of the lungs. It's a really involved process as you can imagine and if that all doesn't work, then you can consider using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. ECMO, a bit of a mouthful. And it's like a machine that works like lungs outside the body. So the idea is blood gets pumped out of the body, the machine puts oxygen into it and then the blood comes back into the body. It's actually really similar to a heart-lung bypass that they use in cardiac surgery. So who's at risk for catching Covid-19? Well, the answer is everyone. It doesn't matter what age you are, you can catch coronavirus. What we see is the people who are most severely affectedare the elderly and those who have underlying health conditions like heart disease, lung disease, Immunosuppression, diabetes. Those people go on to get a worse version of the disease. So to put some real numbers on that, in China about 78% of cases were people aged 30 to 69, and of those people, about 20% of them had severe illness. So it's definitely not just the elderly that are affected, but they are the oneswho tend to have higher fatality rates. In the US we've seen that 8 out of 10 people that have passed away are over the age of 65 and in even higher proportion if you're over the age of 85.So personally I can't help but worry about my grandparents and a lot of the patients that I take care of are in that over 85 categories as well. Although we know who is at risk, we don't actually know who is going to become critically ill and need life support. So it's really important that we all do our part to stop the spread of this virus. So I'm sure that you've seen these diagrams all over social media right now. Everyone talking about flattening the curve. So the idea is that we want to slow the spread of the virus, but not everyone becomes sick at the same time. That way it doesn't overwhelm the hospital system, it gives us more time to come up with treatment and vaccinations. So here's an example. Let's just imagine that people got on their minds that they all needed to buy toilet paper all at once. So as you guys have probably seen, there's no more toilet paper. You can't find it anywhere and some people are left with no toilet paper. It's a disaster! The same thing is true for hospital beds and ventilator machines. We just want to make sure that people use them up slowly. And that means there will be enough for everyone and that it's not all used up at once. But I still hear people saying like: ''You know, if we're all gonna get the virus, why don't we just let it happen?'' The whole answer is that this happened in the past. We've actually seen this play out in the Spanish flu in 1918.So if we look to history, we can see that Philadelphia took 2 weeks to actually put their social distancing plan in place. And we see this huge spike of deaths and fatalities that happened as opposed to St. Louis that put these measures in place right off the bat and you can see that they had this nice flat curve. That is what we're aiming for. That's why we're working so hard to get social distancing in place now. For this to work, for us to really save lives, we need to all be in this together and there are 2 main things or coronavirus cleaning that we need to do. Number 1 is washing your hands really well and frequently. So that means 20 seconds of washing your hands, a long time by the way. It's about a happy birthday sung twice. Make sure you get your fingernails. Make sure you get between those fingers and the backs of your hand's number 2 is social distancing. So there's been a lot of talk about this. This is 6 feet between you and anyone else or 2 meters, but it doesn't mean isolating yourself. So make sure that you're reaching out to friends, family. We have this wonderful technology. You are not alone and don't let yourself get isolated. I know that it's a huge strain on families. I know that there's a lot of financial demand and I just want to say thank you because what everyone is sacrificing is at a community level really helping in saving lives and it's inspirational to hear these stories. Should you be wearing a mask when you go outside? The World Health Organisation says that if you are healthy and you have no symptoms, you don't need to be wearing a mask. It's only people who have symptoms: Cough, cold, fever. They should wear a mask or a healthcare provider who's looking after someone who has COVID should have a mask on as well. Personally, when I go outside, I'm not wearing a mask. I do wear a pair of thin gloves that I put on, so that if I'm touching doorknobs, then it doesn't get on my hands. And it reminds me not to touch my face as well because I'm pretty bad about that. And otherwise, I just come home and scrub my hands really well. So treatments.
Here, so you can really get the magnitude of it and then I'm going to show you some video and pictures so that you can really see this. This single bed in this two-bedroom apartment by himself and passed away in early January and just so you know today is the 13th of February, so we're talking probably a month and a half deceased undiscovered. He died on the floor of his bedroom and melted through and he's on the second floor melted. Through his floor and he's dripping through to the first-floor apartment which is a lady and her children they noticed maggots and they are getting sick too of the smell and of the dead body odor, so not only do you have the death in here the filth is extreme. I mean we're talking disgusting so I'm gonna show you some video here and explain to you as best as I can but this is bad so it looks like the person was bleeding for a while from whatever reason and didn't get treated or didn't get any attention and because the blood is in the several areas of the room and it needs blood cleanup, so it'snot blood like he was beaten or anything like that, it was just somebody was sick. So, I'm gonna turn the camera here and you guys can take a look, so you've got blood there and then you have a really disgusting kitchen. Really disgusting and look at the walls, I mean you see. You see this here look at the floor. Hopefully, you can see this it is a little bit dark but I don't have any light the lights not working maybe this wall absolutely gross. Look at the fridge this okay so that's the kitchen and the entryway. So check out this TV room area and apparently this person was a severe alcoholic but this place was very very neglected, so take a look at this carpet is so somebody liked vodka. A lot now we're gonna get into the bedroom and where the death occurred, but take a look at this hallway and notice the color differentiation of the carpet, so it's pretty bad like and I said it is extremely bad. For those of you that have just joined, this was a single male that passed away in early January, he was found only because he melted through the second floor. Into the bottom floor apartment and a woman and her children saw maggots and saw it coming from the ceiling so it's really really disgusting. Big project and of course it doesn't make it easy that the place is so filthy and disgusting dead body odor which is it smells like hot garbage and in here with rotten eggs boiling in the Sun and like ten dead possums that are and when it smells it's pretty obnoxious. So, any questions that I can answer from anyone regarding this horrible cleanup. Alright, guys, I am signing off here hopefully you've seen everything I'll post some photos and as well thanks for watching.
All of us are probably guilty of hanging on to too much stuff and I'm been know much about changing the way or keep things we should have got rid of a long time ago. This is my home which doesn't make sure her home and at the moment, but when does a messy house become a hoard filled home and needs hoard cleanup she had it. I just worked and enjoy and we meet the extreme hoarders who can't seem to throw anything away. I was enjoying Turkish the relationships put under stress. He still treats me like a two-year-old little girl and I think you need to just do it and we meet those who battle their toughest conditions to give hoarders back. Their life salivary this is can't stop and won't stop hoarding. 4,000miles away behind the pristine exterior of this sunny Florida home lies a harrowing secret of a 74-year-old Sandy Humanis, extreme water, and every single surface of her house is littered with rubbish. After a heart attack, left sandy with depression she stopped throwing anything away and it's been upsetting and unnerving because it isn't like me the total opposite. It's been a shock to me I just flipped into it. I cleaned up the house and kept a nice home there like cooking and I was near a pen. Sandy lives alone and has managed to hide her hoarding from everyone around her by not allowing visitors inside her home. It gets close to phobic at times and then I get up and go out somewhere. Sandy admits that even her sons who live thousands of miles away in other parts of the country don't know the extent of her hoarding. They'd be shocked cuz that's not how they were raised and they ever been here in a couple of years and I've gone out here to see them. They have their own lives and everybody has their potholes in the road of life, but today help is at hand and we know we don't have a special team of cleaners that have been called in by Sandy's best friend Sharon. You saw the state of the house and decided something must be done any of her bills anything like that and well, I'm going to show you where we're going to put a little spot Spalding deacon at the largest holder cleanup specialists services in Florida. Handle an average of four cases a week today and the TV's headed up by case manager Tasha Petrini Ani who spoke to Sandy's best friend. All heard a lot of stuff under there well, when I had found out from sharing was that they've been friends for like nine years and Sharon got the issues like you to know to be friends for so long. I just noticed some people get to the point where something like that will happen but they know have all good intentions and don't anticipate this happening. As the crew clear, the dining room there are signs that some of these piles of rotting food have attracted and unwanted guests saying this is animal droppings like right here, disease-carrying cockroaches, and the more they clean the more roaches they uncover. Sandy's coffee machine is taking pride of place on the kitchen floor and it's surrounded by a giant pile of coffee filters and there is what appears to be a large amount of coffee. Everywhere, Sandy can't have cooked a meal in her kitchen for years that to pack houses with temperatures in Tampa over 30 degrees and no air-conditioning and most of the crew wear masks to hide the stench of rotting food and ammonia and don't matter almost slips in the layer of grime on the floor. Incredibly the black staff that's covering the fridge a cockroach droppings roaches are inhabiting every single part of Sandy's home and bleach it. Will vacuum it out and then bleach and matter. Finally clearing and cleaning the hoarding floor they make a shocking discovery is that right and they do not come up and what they thought was coffee turns out to be something even more alarming. There are bags of human feces in the kitchen and some of her. First when my bedroom stopped working then I would go to the bathroom and bags that's what then I didn't get him thrown out.Nick goes to investigate Sandy's bathroom to see if he can unblock the toilet and get it working for her. Nick's fallen through the bathroom floor and his head narrowly misses the blocked toilet. Something very water damage as the crew's first day of cleaning ends as a hocking picture of Sandy's living conditions and is emerging, she's living in a potential death trap surrounded by bags of feces and an infestation of disease-carrying cockroaches. There is a layer and after a layer of newspapers and rubbish. I'm starting to see the carpet she loves her newspapers like that, and I don't know she's asleep in here and one little spot for the bomb it's a way you can evolve in a bond, but you can see basket is full amongst the piles of moldy food and giant cockroaches. Tasha finds evidence of something that could be even more disturbing. The bathroom she's using for plumbing it's common for hoarders like sandy to avoid calling repairman for issues like plumbing because they're afraid of being discovered living in such conditions. Back in the bedroom, Tasha and the team have managed to clear the floor and make some headway. It's the comfort of a book come in that way and Sandy's bed is covered with droppings with egg casings and rotting food and that's kind of well used for years and years.

Just to be clear sars cov2 refers to the virus and the illness that the virus causes is called covid19. From now on, for simplicity I'm going to refer to sars Kobe 2 as COVID 19 and vice versa, so I know many of you are going to the store and you're stocking up. You're getting supplies and I know a lot of us are picking up cleaning up supplies for coronavirus to help prevent the spread of this infection, but many of the cleaning supplies are sold out. If you're lucky, you got some supplies before the store ran out either way and we hear it out of the doldrums have been wondering which ones are best and which ones will work in. A pinch is there any homemade solutions, so we did quite a bit of research and here's what we found. First and foremost as always it's very important for me to say that you need to seek medical attention and advice if you or your family are feeling ill. The novel coronavirus is very new it and it didn't even exist 90 days ago, scientists are still nailing down the details of exactly how it is transmitted and infected of the coronavirus how long it will live outside the body. What we do know though is that this coronavirus is very similar to other coronaviruses namely, the ones that cause sars and mers that means that most of the information we have is based on research done on those particular strains and disinfected the coronaviruses because not many studies have been done yet on covid19. We have to make assumptions and inferences and we'll have to assume that what will kill the other strains of the coronavirus and will also kill covid19 and when I say kill let's talk about a little technicality. Technically, you cannot kill the coronavirus and you can inactivate it or you can neutralize it, which would prevent infection and spread, so if we're to be scientifically correct we'd have to refer to inactivating the coronavirus rather than killing it. The novel coronavirus as of now, we know it's spread from person to person and people who are in close physical contact to each other and the type of virus transmission is called droplet transmission, in which means droplets that come from mucous membranes like a sneeze, droplets mucus or saliva can be transmitted easily from person to person. Usually, this type of transmission is most commonly seen among people that are within six feet of each other. Scientists are finding that the novel coronavirus can remain alive for hours to days and on surfaces, so it becomes very important that we make sure that all of our surrounding surfaces are clean with no coronavirus on them. It makes sense doesn't it that cleaning visibly dirty surfaces followed by infection is the best thing we can do to prevent transmission of covid19 and other illnesses. Let's take a step back for a minute and talk about the difference between cleaning and disinfecting the virus. They're two very different things, cleaning refers to the removal of germs dirt and impurities from surfaces. In other words, if the surface is visibly dirty you're cleaning it by wiping off the dirt grime and other things. Cleaning does not necessarily kill things like bacteria or viruses but it does lower their numbers and lowers the risk of spreading infection. Disinfecting, on the other hand, refers to using chemicals that kill bacteria and viruses on surfaces by disinfecting a surface after cleaning it, you can further reduce the risk of spreading infection, and here's the thing though not all agents will adequately disinfect or kill the novel coronavirus COVID 19. In addition, many of the recommended disinfectant agents are quite toxic to both our bodies and the planet. Lastly, with the spread of COVID 19, many of the recommended disinfectants are sold out and they're unavailable in stores and online, so we're in a bit of a conundrum. Hopefully, this video will help out, as far as that's concerned. Let's back up and start with recommendations from the CDC regarding household cleaning and disinfection specifically in relation to the spread of novel coronavirus or covid19. They recommend routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces like tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, and sinks with household cleaners and followed by a disinfectant. Keep in mind many of these disinfectant products are quite toxic and you really need to wear gloves while you use them and you should also make sure you have good ventilation in the area where you are working, so keep in mind that this recommendation is for any households covet 19 or not. However, if there's someone in your home who may have or confirmed to have COVID 19, the recommendations change just a bit if this is the case you need to clean and disinfect and to decontaminate the coronavirus frequently touched. services daily in household common areas it's highly recommended that the sick individual is confined to one bedroom and one bathroom, limiting or eliminating time spent in common spaces. It recommended that if possible the ill person cleaned their room and their bathroom with an approved disinfectant that's shown to be effective against coronavirus and it's also recommended to frequently launder dirty clothes and of course most importantly you need to frequently wash your hands. Let's take a minute here and talk about handwashing. Good old-fashioned handwashing with soap and water does, it work well and it works against the novel coronavirus. Well, when you wash your hands you're coating them in a lather of soap sets and then you're scrubbing vigorously and then you're rinsing this and it physically removes pathogens from your skin. Fortunately, soap has been shown to incapacitate the sars virus and other similar coronaviruses, these types of viruses have an outer coating called an envelope it's this envelope that helps the virus latch on and invade new cells. We know that this viral envelope and soap have something very important in common fatty substances and these fatty substances interact with each other and when they do so, the envelopes get broken up which incapacitates the virus so basically, the soap renders the virus ineffective and there's no way it can affect a human cell after that encounter. What about hand sanitizers, well not all hand sanitizers are created equal. The CDC and world health organization recommend a hand sanitizer that's at least 60 percent alcohol in order to kill the novel coronavirus and here's the thing, many of the hand sanitizers on the market today are not at least 60 alcohol, so it's tough you have to make sure on the label that the sanitizer you have contains that amount of alcohol or greater, in order for it to kill the novel coronavirus. What if all the stores are sold out of that good old hand sanitizer and we're seeing it here on Maui, well you can just make your own I wouldn't just use any online recipe though use a reputable one like the recipe given out by the world health organization which I'll link below and basically they mix 99.9 isopropyl alcohol, 3 hydrogen peroxide, and glycerol in a certain ratio and giving you a final product of hand sanitizer that's 75 alcohol as a side note obtaining 99.9 isopropyl alcohol is quite difficult, so if you can get your hands on some 91 isopropyl alcohol which is readily available, you can use that but you're going to have to adjust the formula appropriately. According to this research paper published in January 2020 the world health organization homemade hand sanitizer recipe was tested against the sars and the mers coronaviruses and found to be very effective. According to these researchers, they expect a similar effect against covid19 and another note on alcohol just to be clear, spirits like the kind you drink it's a party and really don't have that high of an alcohol percentage most and spirits are 80 proof as such that's only 40 alcohol by volume, Now her close to the recommended 60 minimum to inactivate the coronavirus there are exceptions to this and you know if you would get your hands on a bottle of 90 proof ever clear you just might be in business so back to the approved disinfectants.
Hey, what is up to everybody! So today I'm getting personal my daughter contracted and infected of coronavirus, luckily she is better now but now my husband has it. I want to talk to you today about how to manage or so far to escape from getting it. What our home treatment plan has been and how we set up our apartment to keep six feet apart. I'm Risa Morimoto your host and you're watching modern aging where we chat about innovative and holistic ways to optimize our health and well-being. Okay so let's be real this all feels like a ridiculous bad joke or something and I wouldn't it be great to just wake up from this nightmare of a movie that has become. Our lives well no such luck not in my family, my family's been hit by this coronavirus so we've been forced to face this pandemic head-on. I want to share our experience with you so that perhaps you can find something useful and what we did if you find yourself in the same predicament at the time it really and when it happened. It felt like an uncontrollable crisis but it did become manageable once we put systems in place first off. I just want to say there's a lot of anxiety about there whether or not people think they have symptoms the anxiety and fear are real but we also have to take a step back and not freak out because of the anxiety may be actually making things appear worse than they actually are, so take a deep breath and if you're incessantly watching the news you have to stop because it's not helping so here's what happened and what we did so my teenage daughter. She came over in school not feeling well a couple of weeks ago and this is when the hysteria was beginning and we were starting to see that this pandemic was real and coming to our towns and coming very soon I have to be honest, at the time I completely freaked out and I lost it but then I got into my producer mode, you know for all those producers out there you know exactly what I'm talking about because when that hits the fan you have to solve problems and so that's what I did, so she had the classic symptoms of fever and dry cough, but luckily nothing else we gave her Tylenol for the fever but really the COFF nothing, except for maybe some cough drops. From time to time the real question was this Kovac 19? I called around to try to get her tested but it was impossible and apparently they're just not enough tests to go around and the ones that they do, they're using on severe cases only so we were left to our own. Well, honestly we'll never know for sure if she had coronavirus unless she can get an antibody test but at the time we were told to treat it as though. She did so that's what we did and luckily she's a teenager or so and not a toddler so she could take care of herself, for the most part, we quarantined her in her bedroom and we designated one of the two bathrooms for her to use only. She stayed in her room for about fourdays which is about how long her illness lasted for her. I did not go into her room and anything that she needed I put by her door. Her meals were brought to her in her room I was the only person to touch the tray. I washed or cleanup my hands from the virus, like crazy and I wore a mask and so did chief. Wehad to interact at all it was honestly very tough for her to stay in a room of course, but then she got to set up her computer so she could watch Netflix which normally we would not allow, but because we did life became a little bit more bearable for her. Once we started feeling better she was allowed to come out of her room and as long as she was careful. What she touched, she washed her hands a lot and she disinfected from the virus, and whatever she touched she wore face masks outside of her bedroom. As did I when we would interact we washed all her bedding and clothes the CDC.Now says for those who have had symptoms and not tested for Kovan 19 and now feeling better, there are three markers you should lookoutto determine if they are still contagious numbers and one they've had no fever for 72 hours that is without the use of any medicine. Number two, their symptoms have improved as if they had a cough or sore throat and number three, seven days have passed since their symptoms first appeared and if you check off all three then the person is probably no longer contagious like my husband's case, unfortunately, he has been a little bit different, his virus started with a cough and then a few days he developed a fever with aches and pain. He's been taking Tylenol but after a few days his fever is still up and hasn't yet broken, he doesn't have much of an appetite so I'm trying to get him to continue to drink liquids which are super important to flush out the fever. Also, a neighbor she just bought us some organic elderberry juice so I started to give that to him and I started to drink it. Elderberries are known to have anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties so it's really good for colds flu and allergies. I'll put a link in the description below if you want to check it out luckily neither my daughter nor husband have had a sore throat but it is something that I suffer from time to time so I just wanted to suggest Garlin with warm water and warm salt water actually and then alsotaking zinc. You don't want to take on an empty stomach because it can get upset, but a tea fresh slices of ginger lemon honey is awesome and it helps to soothe your throat. My husband is quarantined in his office and he has a little small bed in there and he's been there for almost a week and now I don't go into his room unless there it's to bring him something and if I do go in, I put on my mask and he puts on his. I don't hang out there for more than five minutes and I've marked flatware and plates bowls that are strictly for him. We don't share towels, bedding or anything, the big challenge has been our dog, Mimi loves my husband and wants to be near him all that time, so I put up a baby gate so she doesn't go into his room, but of course, it's hard to do 100% of the time because I'll forget or I'm in there talking to him and she won't sneak up a high and jump on his bed. They say that the virus can live on your pet's fur and whether or not that's a hundred percent or not I'm not sure it does make sense since this virus tends to like to live on surfaces. The other alternative, of course, is that healthy people don't touch the pets but that's crazy too. I mean I put light blankets on our sleeping spots now just in a case, so that way I can wash the blanket and not the entire couch. I've also been giving Mimi baths not happy about that at all, so I know that I need to get better at keeping that baby gate up. For now, we're taking a day by day we definitely do not want to go into the hospital is a breeding ground for the virus and we are super lucky because of the virus is not bad enough where we need hospital intervention and we are doing our best to create a system within our household to keep healthy people and bring the sick people back to health and I think this is going to be very common. I can't stress enough how important it is to be eating healthy and right now whether you are sick or not whole real foods lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods and if you can, if you don't cook there are meal kits and you can order as well as tons of simple recipes online to try. Just try and we've partnered with a splendid spoon which is a meal kit. The delivery company they have some amazing plant-based smoothies bowls and soups it's perfect because it's nutritious and it's also easy to eat.

When that launches so you will get certified and crime-scene cleanup and meth lab clean up and learn this business from the ground up. Just like our guys do you ever wonder what happens when the police leave crime scene cleaners are private companies that handle to clean up after the police are gone? Spalding decon is one of the 0nation's largest clean up companies handling the aftermath of homicides, suicides decompositions, Auden, and much more. These are stories olara hell and we are here in Melbourne Florida doing a horde and suspected Biola to harm you. My name is Fiona and my first gig today so super excited I didn't really know what to expect with this job, so literally like I came in with a blank slate. When I walked in it was almost like overwhelming, because it was just stuff like everywhere. Generally no like where to begin oh you guys know what happened like no I literally know nothing a guy was staying overnight with a friend who went to bed after an argument like an altercation woke up chased a guy around the house with a shotgun shot him twice and had just enough time to reload. It was a fun whistle, as she does but I'm kind of you to know like, but I don't understand there's like giant holes in the roof. As they're walking they're still putting more holes. We are going to do is we're just content I don't know how I can see per mole, so I'm going to try to cheat for home respirators hotter person. I don't see any biohazard as a great, so and even saw my mattress there's not like it's not you know, it's not a typical blow your brains out with a shotgun type of that so definitely need respirators our mold everywhere. So you can see that this is collapsed and there were two trees in the house. Hurricane Herman did it and we're just here's ago September 10, I'm not there when we're working in here and disturbing stuff, we're definitely gonna be using our respirators mosquitos. A little ridiculous like I'm gonna catch like the West Nile or something. The bathroom is over there and it really pretty starts on the back tile. We're gonna turn around the roof and literally open and in every room, if you wanna try not to go too far, the kitchen is really bad and we're gonna empty out the house Guys, and pretty much yet we're just doing the house and it's gonna be, so they want to fail clean and there's no way it's gonna be sales clean in there, because of everything.Going on, so we're gonna empty the house empty the garage and we'll figure that part out and we'll wipe down the flats. Our business we'll do a sweep like that's about. All we do guys, we are in Riverview Florida you can see the Flies flagger on my head and it's definitely been an interesting evening. I got this call about 8 o'clock and now, it's 10 o'clock so we have a 2 hour response time. Good thing is, we all had our dinner they follow a gentleman that was not an elderly man, they found him after about four to five weeks, the coroner said unknown cause of death if the array of lies and it is just shocking to me, absolutely shocking that there are hundreds of hundreds and thousands of flies. Nobody's even sure how they got in here and the first first day is gonna be a two-day guy. The first day is we're actually just gonna come in and remove the biohazard, so you can see this is where the gentleman died and the odor is not terrible at all, the only thing different about this guy than most of our other decamps, this one smells a little sour and I don't know if it's because of the AC and where it was said that it was set at 73. I'm not sure but he's been here a while, so we did look underneath the bed and there is some biohazard and under the bed.Tonight's main focus is going to be removing the mattress and the box spring. What the coroner had left for us is in the pile, he did die in bed and this is actually some of his arms. Right there, we have some of his hair up towards the top. We have more body hair over there, sadly we don't see any maggots there and aren't any maggots right now, but if you turn around and you look on the bed the Flies are feasting. We're gonna go ahead and suit up and we're gonna get this party started because I kind of wants to be home before 1 a.m. They sell this house and they fix it up and sell it. Offer to disclose happened to them when I bought mine like essentially, what I do now anytime I rent or purchase a house and I start garden anyway by automatically grow stage. I'm not sure what the worst job would be, for me it might be decomposed but it's not really the smell it's more of a texture thing. Mold from the leap which makes sense look at it, I literally thought I found a shotgun and I was terrified. I'm really surprised it was no blood and actually it really didn't look like, so we are here on the day. Number two of the mermaid suicide and I found out details this morning that it was a gunshot suicide. There's no blood splatter and he did it very neatly and won't go inside. All the reason, I called it a mermaid because of the way. Unfortunately, he had killed himself and it literally looks like a mermaid fin whole nine yards.
I've been quiet for a little too long now and I feel like there's something we need to talk about. All right, so I just got back home and today is Friday, my fifth day of work this week, and my final day work. This week I was just in the clinic all morning but I don't want to talk about that, I do want to talk about something. I've been putting off for a while now and I am NOT an expert in infectious disease or epidemiology. By any stretch of the imagination that is not my forte but I am a physician. As a recent event today, I do feel compelled to say that I don't think the US is quite ready or quite prepared to handle everything that's about to come, in terms of the Cova 19, not a virus. I don't mean to scare anybody I just don't think we truly have a grasp on what is yet to happen. A lot of things have unfolded today, tons of clinics are closing, schools are closing, outpatient facilities are closing, non-emergent procedural areas are closing and we are rescheduling outpatient procedures or non-emergent procedures for up to 90 days. Now, we have officially locked away all of our personal protective equipment or PPE there in the office and that no one has access to. We are only allowed a certain amount of masks and protective equipment at a certain given time and that is because people will steal them in the hospital and you don't want to say this kind of public service. The announcement does not steal maps from health care workers or hospitals if you are visiting there or whatnot health care workers need, these masks to take care of not only the novel coronavirus patients but also other sick patients as well and if we don't have this equipment we can't do our job and take care of patients in a safe manner. You know again, I'm not trying to steer anybody but I just don't think we are well prepared and I think we are going to be reactive instead of proactive like we should have been. We have been warned by the Chinese and we have been further warned by the Italian physicians. Italian critical care physicians who basically have told us to get ready and we have it I worked at a very large academic tertiary hospital and we still don't have tests for the virus, so we still do this day and don't know exactly how many people are walking around with this virus or how many people have been exposed. We have no idea so I think once our tests become available in my state, I think the numbers of coronavirus patients willskyrocket exponentially to all the health care workers out there. Being safe and from coronavirus disinfection, wash your hands and wear masks and PPE whenever you can or whenever you're around isolated patients, this is not a joke anymore it is a serious matter and for those who think that you're young and nothing's gonna happen to you and if you get affected, probably true statistics say that the young people will probably have just a minor illness and move on however that's being a little bit irresponsible because when you are young and infected and carrying a very contagious disease or contagious virus you that you can transmit it to anybody along, your path or anybody you come in contact with a patient who is elderly a patient and who is immunocompromised a patient and who is immunosuppressed or any of the above. Let's not forget, I mean you may come in contact with you know thirty-year-old with cystic fibrosis or a 25-year-old who is on immunomodulatory drugs for their Crohn's disease and these patients can be immunosuppressed or can have really poor outcomes and if they are exposed to this virus a cystic fibrosis patient who has exposed, this virus can be put over the edge very quickly and it is not a joke. So please wash your hands and if you are exposed to the virus do not go anywhere, quarantine yourself, follow the rules, follow the guidelines if you do not want this coronavirus to decontaminate, or spread to people who can be affected very poorly by it. I don't want to be the dead horse because so many people have talked about this before, but I feel like I should do my part as a physician and give this kind of public service announcement idea. I'm not trying to scare anybody, I'm just trying to form people and make them a little moreaware so they do not already leave
Okay, thank you, everybody, for being here I think as you know in the last few hours we received confirmation of two presumed and I emphasize the word presumed positive or infected cases of COVID-19 or coronavirus in Pennsylvania. Now, I'm saying presumed positive for a reason because the results have to be confirmed by the CDC but we have two that we have tested in Pennsylvania and so we're presuming positive one is in Delaware County and the other is in Wayne County. Both of the cases have been quarantined in their homes and as you also probably know the Bucks County five schools have been shut down by the superintendent and the Health Department there, so we're monitoring that situation in Bucks County. Our Secretary of Health dr. Rachel Levine will give an update on all of this in just a minute since the identification of the COVID19 or coronavirus has been. Again, since the identification an emergency response team here in Pennsylvania right here in this building has been working diligently to develop a plan for when this virus inevitably arrived in Pennsylvania the Department of Health set up an incident command center at the beginning of February, so it's been up for five weeks now. Here in Pennsylvania Emergency Management building just down the hall and they have been coordinating and monitoring the responses that we've been making, so I think they've been hard at work, there have been and will continue to be numerous daily briefings with the federal Center for Disease Control and also the Department of Health is coordinating with other state agencies. The other states and relevant federal agencies state that they're dealing with here in Pennsylvania include PEMA, of course, the department's of Human Services education military and veterans affairs agriculture the Pennsylvania State Police the office of administration the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education the Department of Aging and the list goes on and on. Right now, the emphasis of the plan is mitigation tactics to keep this virus from spreading widely the confirmation of these presumed positive cases should serve as a reminder of the role, that every Pennsylvanian must continue to play. This is a responsibility that goes to almost 13 million of us in Pennsylvania. We have to control the spread and to decontaminate the coronavirus disease by what we do day in day out in our daily lives so tactics like washing your hands for at least 20 seconds or disinfecting the coronavirus. Basically, that's as long as it takes to sing happy birthday twice just as a guide 20 seconds covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze and not with your hands but with your sleeve and your elbow, you can stop spreading the illness also just by not touching your face so those things are important. If you feel ill stay home and I'm encouraging employers to allow workers to take the sick time. I'm also suggesting if you can offer telecommuting work and other options that allow employees to work without risk of sharing the disease, more information on prevention and symptoms of the COVID-19 virus can be found by clicking the banner at the top of PA gov that's our website we will continue to update that website as we gather more information and when it emphasized that we all should remain calm here. Dr. Levine our health secretary has an extensive background in medicine and she's leading the team of highly trained medical and public health personnel who are fully prepared to continue to do what they've been doing for the last five weeks and that monitors the situation, so while the Department of Health is leading this response in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. They're also coordinating with every level of government in Pennsylvania the federal government and beyond to tackle any issues that may come up so I can assure you that our state government will continue to function smoothly as we respond to this public health issue and we're prepared to take action. On secondary issues just as we do with the natural disaster, so as the situation develops and we will continue to provide the public with information on the extent of the health crisis and our response so again please visit PA gov and follow the banner line or follow the commonwealth of Pennsylvania x' official Facebook or Twitter pages. So now I'm going to turn this over to Dr. Rachel Levine, secretary of health for the Department of Health Pennsylvania. Dr. Levine, thank you good morning. Thank you for attending our latest update on the 2019 novel coronavirus our COVID-19 as governor wolf has said we have two individuals with presumed positive cases of COVID-19 they are both at home and they are in isolation or quarantine and at the same time they are in good physical condition. We also are aware that five schools in Central Bucks school district have closed out of an abundance of caution and we are working with our partners at the Bucks County Health Department and school district and at this time. However, there are no confirmed cases in Bucks County and the situation there is actually not related to any Pennsylvania exposure. It is not related to the two cases that we are discussing and we are working with our County and Municipal Health Department partners to continue to test individuals that meet criteria for testing for COVID-19. Importantly we are able now as we have been reporting all week to do testing for COVID-19 at our state Public Health Laboratory in Exton Pennsylvania. We are continuing to increase our testing capabilities at this state laboratory and we are also aware that commercial labs are coming online. To also begin testing our Pennsylvania response teams include our colleagues at PEMA PennsylvaniaEmergency Management Association the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania HAP the Pennsylvania Medical Society all of our courageous first responders. Our County in Municipal Health Department partners and as the governor mentioned state federal and local partners and we are all prepared to deal with disease outbreaks including this one we expect more cases to be confirmed in the upcoming days and weeks and we want everyone to take action to help prevent the spread of this novel coronavirus COVID-19. We will continue to update our website and have the latest information tips and preparation checklists on our Department of Health website or health PA gov for you to use.
What is going on with everybody on YouTube! Welcome back to my channel and for those of you who are new around here, my name is Michael a.k.a Dr. Chile and I are a fifth-year interventional radiology resident physician. On today's video, I wanted to discuss the coronavirus and koban 19 x-ray findings and I was planning on making this video, anyways but then I saw this video that CNN posted about their one of their main correspondents, Chris Cuomo who is also the brother of Andrew Cuomo the governor of New York, so it's been very public over the last few days that Chris Cuomo has been diagnosed as positive for koban 19 and he's kind of been giving an update throughout his course and disease progression. In this particular video, I saw a few days ago they discussed Chris Cuomo's chest x-ray findings and I feel like I could do a better job and explaining it than they do. So we're going to go through this video and use it as a way to kind of discuss the chest x-rayfindings of koban 19 or the novel coronavirus infection and go from there, so let's go ahead get into it.So like I said before, Chris Cuomo is a CNN news correspondent which I see him all the time. On this channel, he is the brother of the New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, which I actually didn't put two and two together for a while, but that's a different story. Last week he tested positive for koban 19 and they've been in viewing him almost daily. About the course of his disease and he does a pretty good job ofopening up about it, so I'm gonna start the video and I'll stop it intermittently when I feel like I need to interrupt. I feel better than I deserved and I now know that I can't just take it from this thing that with the fever spikes you, just want to curl up in a ball and stay there for the next six-seven hours and you can get a bundle up your clothes. You've got it and you know start drowning yourself influence, you got to take your time off and you got to get out if you don't want it to get into your lungs. You gotta force yourself to breathe, you got to get up off your ass, you got to walk around and it hurts you don't want to do it. Everything in your body is telling you, not to do it and it's lying to you. So I really like what he's doing here and he's staying positive, he's staying active and he's mobilizing which is fantastic. You don't want to just lay in bed and let this disease take a hold of you and if you can help it and it's lying to you and I know that and the more I do, the more I push myself to do, the better I'm gay, so I'm gonna take faith in that for now, and I know I'm not through it but that's good.Let's talk about the collective, though for a second. So he's actually onto something with this because, when patients will lay flat in the hospital bed on, ventilators the actual back or posterior of the lungs do not aerate as well, because they aren't expanding and because that is the dependent portion of the thorax. So, as you've seen in many cases with this virus, we actually prone the patients and allow the posterior or back of the chest to expand which allows those Airways to kind of open up and if you don't allow those Airways to open up, that lung becomes collapsed or a delight attack and can cause that infection, just to kind of sit there and not resolve. So I'm going to fast forward this part because they're just talking about data and whatnot. So, I think let's fast-forward to the part where you start talking about his chest x-ray. Now, in terms of all we're we don't want to go through he'll have coronavirus in most of the cases and your big fear is that it's gonna get your lungs, that's what it wants. It wants your lungs this thing, so this virus does love the small Airways or your lungs and this weekend, I had the fever start to go down a little bit and I started to feel it come into my chest, so I went to get a chest x-ray and I want you guys to see this just so you can see what we're looking for. Now, so first and foremost this is just a normal frontal radiograph as we call it. It's not labeled pa or a peek probably a PA radiographed given the way it looks, but let's see what they say about it. Obviously you understand this, what we're looking for in the lungs are big white areas and what are the terms that people will hear, what are they looking for and what do you see in this mighty expansive, chest and trunk. So first and foremost, Sanjay Gupta is the neurosurgery physician. Right there, he is the chief medical correspondent for CNN and he's all over this channel and you've probably seen him everywhere, he is neurosurgery trained and it has been out of practice I think for a little bit now,and I'm willing to bet he hasn't actually looked at a chest x-ray in a very long time, because neurosurgeons don't really look at chest x-rays that much. That's not in their specialty, so we'll see what he has to say about the chest x-ray. One of the things that you'll hear is infiltrated so if you are a longtime subscriber to my channel, I did a video on where I read a normal chest x-ray versus their really complicated ICU x-ray and I said I don't use the term infiltrate and still to this day I get questions about why I don't use that term and this is a perfect example, so I don't use the term infiltrate because it implies infection. When you say there is an infiltrate on a chest x-ray, it is basically saying that there's an infection there. Well, that's how people interpret it and the problem is that many things on chest x-ray. It looked like an infection, that heartinfection so if I were to call something an infiltrate implying, it's an infection and it was an infection that would be a misdiagnosis. So in short, anything that pacifies the lung fields on chest x-ray and does not always have to be an infection.Other things can also pacify the lung fields on chest x-rays such as malignancy or cancer, also fluid can also do the same thing, hemorrhage protonation smith Tyrael, etc. So just remember that the term infiltrate is not used by me or anybody. I trained with because not everything ona chest x-ray doesn't infiltrate or infection. Do you have an infiltrate in your chest and in your lungs? and that's basically a collection ofinflammatory fluid. I would look for those areas where you know the black areas are the air in your lungs, I would look for some of those black hairs and essentially be filled with white spots and I just won't make it clear for the audience, I'm not diagnosing here from afar. In the middle of the chest x-ray, there you can see you have a little bit of infiltrates and you could see the same, so again this is really difficult to see because I'm looking at a picture of an x-ray on a news broadcast and I'm also watching on YouTube, so it's not exactly ideal for diagnosing. However, I don't see any infiltrate on this x-ray and this is a lateral projection here. This is the sternum, up here in the back and as you can see here the spinous processes in the vertebrae, here this is the side view of the heart or the lateral view, so again this x-ray is taken from the lateral projection, which means it is the beam and drawing this way, that's why you can see all the ribs like. This right here I think whathe's seen is the overlapping ribs and normal pulmonary interstitial vasculature that is causing this infiltrative appearance, but this is pretty clear from what I can see. This is the side view and now you'll see in the story, the film there is your spine. You see those sort of Domino looking bones. Also smaller might, I might add breath and I don't know what he means by small bones. These look like normal vertebrae to me and actually look pretty good for a big guy like you in the middle of the spine there and then in front of that aside is the x-ray of your lungs and so I think what he's saying is in front of the spine is the x-ray of the lungs, but what most people don't realize is that the lungs actually go out well past or well posterior or behind the spine here. As you can see right here, this is the back of the lung and here on both sides and this is the spine column, right here you can see there's a good distance between the spine and the lung, so if you're looking at it from the side the lungs kind of expand posterior to the spine and it looks pretty good maybe a little bit of fluid buildup there. I don't see any fluid buildup, if there were to be fluid buildup, there would be some blunting of the costophrenic angles here. You can't really see all of them, so maybe there is like stant amount of fluid there, but I would never call that pneumonia which is what they're trying to diagnose. Pneumonia is not just diagnosed by a chest x-ray but it's one of the tools that doctors used to diagnose and again, you just make it clear not diagnosing Cris via television here butthat you know looks pretty good and I looked at that more closely on my computer today. Look I have different pulmonary people they take very close readings because it's either really pneumonia or it really isn't and they expect me to have to infiltrate because I have the virus and I have to tell you it is scary to have your lungs go up there and see this stuff be, like what is that, what is like that smoke in there and they tell you that's the virus, so this is exactly why I wanted to do this video in the first place because chest x-rays are not really good at diagnosing COVID 19 or novel coronavirus and this is the perfect example for that because Chris Cuomo has been diagnosed and contaminated of the virus. However, his chest x-ray is pretty normal and the reason for that is because often in many other disease processes, as well as COVID 19 and will actually lag on chest x-ray and what I mean by that is it actually takes a while for the virus to accumulate within the lungs and actually show itself on chest x-ray. So as you can see here, you can test positive for the virusbut have a normal chest x-ray which is why chest x-rays are not really that valuable. In the beginning stages of the virus, they can, however, be useful in tracking the disease progression so it looks like Chris Cuomo is doing well so far and I wish him the best.
Do you ever wonder what happens when the police leave? Crime scene cleaners are private companies that handle to clean up after the police are gone. Spaulding Decon is one of the nation's largest cleanup companies handling the aftermath of homicides, suicides, decompositions, hoarding, and much more. These are our stories. So I'm getting ready to go in for the initial shock. I can smell biohazard pet waste and I can smell the ammonia from the cats. The walls are yellowing from the smoke- from smoking inside the building. This is a- this is just- there's a cat that just ran back that way. This is a huge case of depression. This isn't the worst. We've seen far worse. I don't have any gloves on right now, so I'm just trying to kick the doors open. There's animal waste everywhere. Everywhere, I'm not going to venture any further in right now cause I am not fully dressed up for this but I just kind of wanted to see what we were working with. I feel like I wish you guys had smell-o-vision so you could actually smell what we're smelling right now. It's actually burning my nose. I feel like my nose hairs are sizzling from the ammonia. We are at a hoarder's home here. We are starting in the garage and we have our big dumpster. I'm suited up because we are going to be going inside and its got a lot of animal waste and its probably knee-high with trash and stuff. So I've got this on here. I'll probably wear a respirator since the ammonia levels are decently high. She has 2 cats but she has 2 dogs as well, and they've never been let out. It's just really 8 years of accumulation. It breaks my heart because I have 2 dogs- 2 teacup Yorkies- and Laura said that the dogs that are here are identical to mine and mine are spoiled rotten. It's heartbreaking. We're an animal-loving company we all have animals it's gut-wrenching to me.Kyle: Just knowing like my dogs are inside Laura: YeahKyle: Fucking kills me Laura: But the hardest part is knowing she didn't do this on purpose Kyle: No, no this is a clear case of depressionLaura: It's hard. It's hard.Kyle: What?... That fucking thing was heavy Laura: Yeah fucking speed it up. Knees to the chest! Kyle: Knees to chest, bitch.Kyle and Laura: Knees to the chest! Laura: Let's do this!Kyle: Go ahead. Can you? 1..2..3Juan: This job is a little nasty but it's not so hard. It's an easy job. To do a hoarding... that's easy.Ben: You could tell she was really depressed. You could tell she was going through something.Kyle: I love total cleanouts because it makes life so much simpler not having to pick and choose. We only have a tiny list.Laura: Right, but also it like a huge transformation and biohazard remediation. I love the before and after Kyle: oh 100%. Instant satisfaction.Laura and Kyle: ♪ we are family leave♪ Kyle: No we're not. Don't even try.Kyle: There are 2 that are seen. I am waiting for the 3rd. I will cry if it's up my leg.Laura: Where did they go? Kyle: I don't know which is why I'm freaking out Laura: Oh, I thought you guys put them outside or somethingBen: No, they started going up the wall so I left them alone. Kyle: I swear to god. It's not a spider though I couldn't tell that from far away. Laura: What are these poor cats eating? Kyle: Leftovers on the floor. You have to look at the expiration on it. 2008?!? No!Kyle: They'll die. They're better off eating roaches. I want to give you an update on the hoarding situation here in Pasco County, Florida. We are probably 6 1/2 hours into the cleanup. There are 5 of us here. We have already dumped one large trailer of this size and now we almost have the second one completely full here. So this is 24 cubic yards of biohazard waste. It holds up to 2 1/2 to 3 tons right there. But we started off with the garage and we are using it as a staging area for very few keep items that she wanted to keep which was really just jewelry, purses, and pictures. So this room was pretty bad here. It was probably knee-high maybe a little higher. The kitchen had a ton of spiders and roaches. So it was challenging to get them all in garbage bags. So follow me. We found food from 2008 and I mean it was really old stuff you can see on the floor finally. There are still tons of spiders and tons of fast food and food packages. We're really going to end up throwing 99% of all her house away and she's gonna start fresh so this was probably stacked I would say about 4 ft high. Then this room, we're working on this now we couldn't even walk in here so at least now you can see some carpet and then we have all of this debris here so you know she's only keeping like this TVand stuff but take a look at the ceiling fan that is years of accumulation. You have tons of feces back here to the bed so it looks like they were using this room for their bathroom. You know, animals want to be clean but when you leave them alternatives, they don't really have anywhere else to go so. Now in this room you can see tons and tons of bags of cat food and we have a couple more hours here this project will take us probably two days to do a clean-out of five people and then two days to really deep clean it and get it you know we're all these spiderwebs and everything or on the ground, we're gonna pull this carpet up we're gonna pull the padding up and she is going to start fresh which is fantastic because she's gonna get a brand new beginning andI'm happy to give it to her. Ben: Monday if she's having flooring guy comment I'm just gonna also have a painter commend she doesn't need to replace any of their fixtures because we were able to clean them in salvaged out bathroom we've all used it at least twice today bedroom cobwebs are actually on the outside everything on the inside is clean we remove the floors wipe everything down since she's painting and redoing the floors we left them aside for her be easier for her new crew to come in and see carousel hallway. Again the closet the limits this is the worst room in the whole actually with the equal matter you see here it's actually gonna have a hard laminate or tile pudding so she's having all the tax dripping ripped up because we weren't able to actually clean it. We could have done that pushing things in you a-hole reader. I think we do provide hope and I think we provide a new beginning a new lease on life a new start and this house is the perfect scenario she lost her entire family eight years ago she's in a deep depression and she's living in filth because this is the way that she feels inside and just from the first time meeting her she's so embarrassed and she's so sad and I just wanted to help her and I want to transform this house to where when she comes home. She's actually happy to be home and she's not living in spiders and roaches and milk from 2017 and you know the stench in here is just for it the cat's the dogs there are feces everywhere, so no one should have to live like that and it's just super sad that someone can get that depressed that they want their environment to match how they feel on the inside. It's just super sad and you know I think the biggest misconception that I see from our followers and viewers is they think the hoarders are lazy and that honestly could not be further from the truth. They're not lazy, they are debilitated by depression and I know everyone has had a bad day and they've been depressed or sad at some point in their life where you just want to lay on the couch all day well that day that you're laying on the couch you're probably not putting your trash in a bag and taking it out imagine that every single day for years and that's what's causing these people to do this. They are not lazy at all they're just debilitated by depression and a tragic event that happened in their life.
Do you ever wonder what happens when the police leave crime scenes and cleaners or private companies that handle to clean up after the police are gone? Spalding decon is one of the nation's largest cleanup services companies handling the aftermath of homicides suicides decompositions Auden and much more. These are stories. Somebody else compartments from 2009, not everybody bombs your own away so the theory behind this is a bunch of squatters have walked in and destroyed this poor woman's house while she is in another state. If you look around, this is my first time here. The smells are horrific and this is the kitchen it's pretty much self-explanatory at this point we're gonna go upstairs. There are three floors in the house and I haven't even seen photos, so this is like the real and there was a dog in her bathroom. Here, the bathroom looks disgusting. This is the second-floor living area but it's definitely gonna be an all-day job, as well. We'll go upstairs to the other floors. I'm not sure how there's glass up here and right here on this landing, we've come to another bedroom that they have literally just ransacked and destroyed all of her personal items and are in here. We're gonna try to save as much as we can, as much as we absolutely cando. Deep cleaning in here and I don't think it calls for respirators or tiebacks it's just really really dirty. We'll go up to the fourth floor because there's another set of stairs and we're here to help in all situations. Mattresses, I'm sure gonna end up going put a little white. It's gonna be a rough one they were smoking in here and stay tuned for in this process and for the finale, we don't know what this job looks like. Here, this place just seems so disgusting like I knew that disinfected that right. Now just start walking in the building, like they were a smoker smells like vanilla cigarettes. Somebody kicked off their dirty shoes and suicide and we have no idea what happened. This was a surprise we got the text message yesterday. While we were in the middle of a hoard we did it, not for he was in. I was in the moment 100% but we passed like six or seven super lives and every time he's gonna scream, the super loop it's gonna be a lot of disposals. A lot of sorting for stuff that we can save and I would definitely say it's gonna need a deep-clean which we'll do after. The fact as well the bathroom downstairs is probably gonna be the hardest and I'm overwhelmed to think that people can destroy other people's things and when you're doing it yourself and you're destroying your own property it's one thing when you're destroying and living off with somebody else it's totally different. Clean you know make really bad anybody mastery.I'm going and I'm trying not to contaminate, any other area in the bedroom so at this point I'm removing the biohazard. So we can continue to remove all of the furnishings and that way we're not contaminating the rest of them and anybody, the tiny thing is the only reason that I feel like we need to wear the respirators right now is that we're dealing with carpet. This is an old carpet and it's glued down it being glued down and has actually saved us a lot of extra work because of the glue acts as a barrier for the subfloor. I'm gonna flip it over so you see whatthis actually is and it's a towel, I thought it vomited or somebody took a giant shit but it's not it's rust. I think somebody overflowed the sink and the mold up top that's coming from upstairs this is probably gonna stain the little chest but the sink isn't being kept at. What I'm trying to do is to make it more pleasing to the eye for the final walkthroughs and you wipe it away. Well sink astray the mold out and that's a lot of I don't know. I don't want to work with and we're not equipped with mold so all of us just close the door. I just want a set handjob and we don'thave the equipment for the mold to know and that is full. When we run into a little bit of an issue with that bathroom and we're going to takethe vanity out the whole bathroom and it is completely covered in mold. I don't actually feel comfortable because we're not equipped for a much. All right a little over on the bio side, so that way we don't have to worry about any customer getting on. I'm actually gonna spray theindicator to see if the carpet soaked in any of the bios and if it went down to the glue on the floor, so you can see I sprayed the indicator and it lit up like Christmas. All of this is actually contaminated with biohazard. We starting to deep clean up the biohazard so all and I'm using this great break and get it off before I standardize the flooring and obviously there's no warning down here, just concrete now get everything off. I can wash it and scrub it with a super-strong cleaning disinfecting and then once that's dry we can paint it and we're not paying today, but whoever comes in the hereafter we can paint it with pills and block it. The odor and mold blocker we'll get most of the odor out of the concrete key chin and it is much better and the bridge is gone. The bridge is really rooted and the smells are so bad and everything that looks 10 times better.
Do you ever wonder what happens when the police leave? Biohazard Pro Services Charlotte scene cleaners are private companies that handle the clean up after the police are gone. Where to get a hold of the finest North Carolina fire and water restoration is one of the nation's largest cleanup companies handling the aftermath of homicides, suicides, decompositions, hoarding, and much more. These are our stories. We are located in Tampa, Florida today. We are doing a hoarding cleanup. I did not see the before pictures, so I have no idea what to expect. I am covered up to my waist in fleas after three steps into the door Boots are made for and that's just what they'll do. Just a lot of garbage a lot of obvious garbage. If you look over in the living room, it's a lot of McDonald's. If you go down this way and all through the house you'll actually see an animal fecal matter. There are clothes- clothing piles here and there, but a lot of it is just- this is just the look of overwhelming. Something tragic happens and you know, they can't handle it. The client said that her father had two strokes and her dogs were sick and dying. So that's kind of- that is extremely obvious with somebody who just can't handle it and who can't handle the overstress. We're going to a bio slash like hoard, I guess. The guy had cats and they messed up the floor in the room. You could see pat pee on the furniture and stuff and in his bathroom, you can see where the cat peed all over. Everything, that smell is strong. Like I smelled it from when I walked up to the apartment door. I can tell, you know, there was some type of pet in there. There were pets in there. That's a hard thing. The hard thing is the chemicals we use because they're so strong. So you have to use your mask all the time and do restoration pro of the houses. So that's the hard thing for these kinds of jobs. Even though there is a cat pee on, just about everything doesn't want to get rid of it. The only thing he wants to get rid of is he has to get rid of the apartment and is telling him the carpet and he has like- a fold-out couch bed that he has to get rid of. We got the full go-ahead to just- WHEW! These respirators are like breathing through straw.I've got the full go-ahead to just wipe everything off the counters. There's nothing we're looking for in the kitchen. So it's gonna be as super easy. We got the full go-ahead to just sweep everything off the floor. We've been working in the kitchen for probably, I don't know. Maybe five minutes? And we've got the flooring done here. Countertops are gonna take another couple minutes. We do have to be careful with what's on the dining room table. There are a couple of things that she's looking for. Other than that, it's moving really steadily. I think we've only been here maybe two full hours. We're gonna end up coming back here to do another deep clean up the house. Probably in a week or two once things settle down here. But that's pretty much the extent of it. Don't get me wrong, it is dirty and disgusting. But out of the tons of trash, we've gone through, I'd probably say more than half of was sealed up stuff that hadn't even been opened yet. Not the worse. It gets a lot worse. From what I can see, they still plan on keeping him. They still plan on keeping the cat. We are going to need bags for the carpet because of that smell. We are going to need bags for the carpet because it's smelling so bad. We have to cut it into small pieces and put it. Now just going to have a sewage cleanup and to clean up the carpet, getting all the big stuff out of the way so we could get down to the carpet or remove the carpet. The carpet and this couch definitely have to go other than that though everything else looks like it can be wiped down so. Let's get it out of there so we can remove the carpet. We got the carpet up quicker than I thought we would. I thought it was going to stick in more places but came up nice and easy with just a little bit of shoveling under the padding. It smells horrible in here and I can taste it! It's in my mouth! So basically what we're about to do next is we're about to use a chemical that we use and spray the floor down and scrub the floor really good and if we can't we're going to have to seal it. We use a paint call KilzWe use it to seal it, just seals it into the floor so it stops that smell but we're going to have to have to spray the walls, to wipe the walls down's like cat pee slash and human pee and like this both of them mixed together and it's real pungent. You can see here that we cleaned and kind of organized this room got rid of any obvious garbage if you follow me upstairs so we labeled with duct tape these are clothing that's staying and we'll follow into this room here. This room is pretty much a total gut job. There's no more carpet and all of the furnishings are gone clothing is staying that's just something that she's gonna have to go through and books are staying. It's just family and war memorabilia. More packages that we found for when she remodels and that is actually the next step in the process. Once the deep cleaning is done she's doing a full-fledged remodel and well go on through the living room. All of the garbage is cleared out and all done in sewage cleaning. The couch is gone and we have little tables that have disappeared. Everything that has on the surfaces is just stuff and that she has to go through herself. We'll move back on into the kitchen, the countertops are clear. The sink is clear. There's gonna be a deep cleaning tomorrow, which will take care of the majority on top of the counters, on the stove, in the sink. The flooring, we did a broom sweep clean because there's a deep clean going on tomorrow. We'll work our way back to the bathroom and you'll be shocked and amazed. We actually have a bathroom with running water. The water does run permanently, but it's cool to splash in your face in this freaking Florida heat. Clothing, this was the majority of clothing and personals. The laundry that was in here she wanted to keep everything and she wanted to keep all the personal so obvious garbage was another thing that we got rid of in here and put the clothing in there. She's good to go. The bedroom, you're gonna be shocked and amazed. Again, we have not really a bed this was kind of our catch-all for the things that she wanted to keep underneath the bed, all the way around the flooring, all the way around, and all of that was covered. The best thing I could have done was asked her is there anything personal that you need out of your bedroom, if not I can just do a good swoop and be done and she agreed to it and she's just ready for a new life. The hallway obviously is much better and the flooring is going to be replaced. The house is getting a full gut job. It was a hard job because the house is so hot but it looks good. The biohazard pro charlotte cleaned a hoarding house and everything is good.
