Is the passage meant to be used as a list to help us filter media and information? Or is the passage meant to be more? Join Justin Foster, Blake Bell, and Zachary Forbes as they dive into this passage together. This is a conversation show about things that are important to the life and culture of the people of Legacy Church (https://www.legacychurch.org/) in Plano, TX. Our mission is to provide you with positive content based on a Biblical worldview that will encourage you wherever you are in your day.

In Matthew 19, Mark 10, and Luke 18, we see a moment where Jesus's disciples are rebuking parents/children for coming to see Jesus. Jesus responded by showing He always has time for children and states, "...anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Join us as we explore the reasoning behind the response of the disciples, take a deeper look at Jesus' statement, and discuss what we can learn from this passage about being present with our children. During their time there, they got their hands dirty working to establish yet another new church building and plant in the city. "It's the closest thing to a revival that I've ever seen..." Bruce said. Throughtout this episode we will hear all of the incredible things they witnessed and the impact that God did both in them and through them while they answer the call to go and serve. Host and Lead Pastor, Kevin Boyd, is joined by guest and Lead Pastor of Icon Church, Dave Lee. Together, they get to know the who, how, and why behind the Icon Church plant happening here in Plano, Texas. Icon's mission is to "Reflect Jesus, Embrace Harmony, and Create Community". Next time you see Dave, his family, or anyone from his team, give them a high-five and tell them they're doing a great job! Growing up as an Asian-American, Dave always felt like a cultural misfit. He was also a pastor's kid who struggled with bitterness toward the Church. Over time, God used several people in Dave's life to help him see the truth of the gospel and that he was not a misfit but a bridgemaker. Dave has served in pastoral roles in several churches across the country. In 2021, he received his Master's of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and began to plant Icon Church with his wife, Lynn. Host, Zachary Forbes is joined by guests, Patty Parker and Darien Clark. The parable of the wise and foolish builders is so beneficial to the walk of faith. Is your life built on a firm foundation or on sinking sand? The first step to that firm foundation, is listening and obeying God. God initiates everything, so how can we be more succeptible to listen, respond, and walk with Him from a firm foundation? This is a conversation show about the things we're thinking about, the things we care about, and the things that are important to the life and culture for the people of Legacy Church (https://www.legacychurch.org/) in Plano, Texas. We pray this season will offer you times of encouragement, laughter, and most importantly a deeper desire to know and love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Host, Darien Clark is joined by Pastor, Patrick Iga, and guest, Charlie Leavitt. Charlie first committed his life to Christ in March 1977 in Ankenytown Grace Brethren. When he did, he was told, "wait for the changes - it's gonna be great". So he went home and flushed my marijuanna down the toilet and started reading the bible and praying. He was given zero direction. He began in the book of Genesis, but had no idea what he was reading, so he moved to the back of the Bible and read Revelations. He was then even more baffled. Needless to say, after about a month he went back to his old ways as, "nothing changed". For the next 13 years, he continued to go to church, with no commitment to the Lord... "Unless he was in trouble." Ha! On 8/14/1988 he walked forward at Christian Assembly and gave his life to the Lord. He began serving at church and non-profits almost immediately. He then moved to Dallas in August of 1997 with his family. Charlie has 25+ years of experience in sales and marketing. His area of expertise was in printing of temporary and permanent point of purchase. It was a wonderful career and he found success in the DFW marketplace. During the latter half of the above life, he began volunteering with assorted homeless, prison and food pantries. The experiences changed his outlook and his life... he wanted to serve others. In 2019, Charlie accepted an opportunity to be the Executive Director of The Freeman House (Non-profit Transitional living homes for men and women). The circumstances of getting the opportunity were unfortunate, as his dear friend and founder of The Freeman House passed away unexpectedly. In March of 2021, he accepted a new position at Metro Relief as the Catalyst. August of 2021, he accepted the opportunity to be the Executive Director of Metro Relief's Dallas/Fort Worth operations. Metro Relief is a Mobile Street Outreach non-profit organization. They help people experiencing homelessness get off the streets using Mobile Outreach Teams to meet friends where ever they live. To reach critical masses of people and large encampments they utilize a Relief Bus thats serves as half Social Service office and half soup kitchen. Metro Relief has been doing what they do for ten years in the DFW Metroplex. These things they do. That others may live. Legacy Church is grateful to be in a partnership with a nonprofit in Metro Relief. Together, we can continue to ignite our community on fire to serve those outside, those sleeping rough, those displaced, those forgotten, those accused, and those who are homeless. This is a conversation show about the things we're thinking about, the things we care about, and the things that are important to the life and culture for the people of Legacy Church (https://www.legacychurch.org/) in Plano, Texas. Host, Zachary Forbes is joined by Pastor, Justin Foster, and guest, Chris Ablaza. In Luke 7, Jesus is invited to Simon the Pharisee's house for dinner. At this dinner, a woman enters to wash Jesus' feet. Upon hearing Simon's own thoughts about the woman and Himself, Jesus calmly breaks the silence in the room with a parable about two debtors. Jesus wants to help Simon and us wrestle with the question: Are some more forgiven than others? Join us as we take a deep dive into this scripture and what it truly means from a theological and practical standpoint. Join Kevin Boyd, Dustin Chappell, and Justin Foster for our second episode of But Wait! There's More! In this episode we talk about Theology 101: How do we trust the Bible is true? Listen along to see how a blender, J.I. Packer, and a rotted tree made it into our conversation! Key Points: What does inerrancy mean? The Bible is without error. Why bother with inerrancy? And does it matter? Scripture is the ultimate authority in rule and faith. It is God's word to His people so that we know who He is and how to be saved and how to live life with Him. Isn't it enough that I have a connection to the Bible without believing that it is inerrant? When we look at the Bible without the lens of inerrancy, we become the arbitrators of what is right and wrong and that causes problems. What is Biblical Inerrancy grounded in? If God is without error, then His word is without error. What's the best translation to use? Any translation that is faithfully translated by a team of scholars. What does the Bible have to say about inerrancy?
