Two somewhat knowledgeable people talk Bruins hockey.
After a season full of disappointments, the 2024-25 Boston Bruins cannot hurt/bore us any more. Tune in as we recap the end of season notes and give our predictions for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which will not feature the Bruins for the first time in 8 years. Where do the B's go from here? Who should be the next captain? Next coach? Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters:Podcast - @LineChangesPodAlex - @bigbadbruins73Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! Because of Don Sweeney, the bruins commenced a "re-tool" trading Frederic, Coyle, Carlo, and Marchand. Carlo and Marchand stay in the division, being dealt to Toronto and Florida, respectively. Don Sweeney's bad moves in the past have led to this reality that Brad Marchand is actually playing for another franchise. We discuss the future of the Bruins. What good are draft picks when it's Sweeney and company making the picks? Where do the bruins go this summer? Why must we be fans of this team? Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters:Podcast - @LineChangesPodAlex - @bigbadbruins73Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! Team Canada wins a thrilling Championship game against the United States in what was a slam dunk 4 Nations Faceoff. Meanwhile, back in Bruins' land, everything sucks. Hampus Lindholm is likely out for the remainder of the season, Charlie McAvoy is out for a while after suffering a "significant" AC Joint injury and subsequent infection in Montreal. The Bruins are just "meh." The trade deadline is coming, and it's clear there is only one correct path for Don Sweeney. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters:Podcast - @LineChangesPodAlex - @bigbadbruins73Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! After a brief hiatus, we are back to discuss the continued trends and flaws of this team! Jeremy Swayman seems to be rounding into form after two 40+ save wins, Marchand and Pastrnak hate each other (lol), and it is way past time for the Bruins to embrace the youth movement fully. The B's playoff chances seem slim- will they make it? Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! After a disappointing start to the season filled with underperforming players in roles they shouldn't be in, Don Sweeney has fired his 3rd coach after letting Jim Montgomery go after Monday's 5-1 loss to Columbus. How much is Montgomery to blame? We quickly answer that question, as every player has been disappointing this season. There are only TWO Bruins on pace for 40 points or more. This is a management issue with players not playing up to par. We also discuss Thursday's 1-0 win over Utah, which saw Joonas Korpisalo once again play well. Should Korpisalo get more starts in the short term while Swayman works through his struggles? We then touch on some around the NHL notes, NFL talk, and more! Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! The Bruins are... off to a bizarre start to the season, and they cannot stop taking penalties. The Bruins are 3-4-1, but it feels much worse. The Bruins have a decent fourth line.. but that's about it. Just about everyone and everything has been off to start the season. How do the Bruins fix the lack of chemistry? Is it time to call up Lysell? How much blame should Montgomery get? Bare with us as we try to remember it's only October... Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
The 2024-25 NHL season is here! Tune in as we discuss the Bruins opening night roster ahead of Tuesday's (potential) season opener in Florida! We give our take on the Bruins strengths, weaknesses, and where we think they'll end up in the Atlantic division standings. We then go division by division, giving our complete standings predictions! Will Ottawa finally break through? Is there magic brewing in Utah? We then give our award predictions as we look forward to another year of... Connor McDavid dominating the league. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
Well... we're back. Tune in as we discuss the tragic deaths of Johnny & Matty Gaudreau, who were tragically murdered by a drunk driver in New Jersey a couple of weeks ago. Do not drink and drive. Call a friend, uber, ANYTHING. We then make the difficult transition to talk about Jeremy Swayman's contract situation and Brad Marchand undergoing 3 offseason surgeries. Are we at all worried about Swayman not having been signed yet? Any worries about Marchand heading into his 16th season? We also talk about Torey Krug's unfortunate injury that is going to keep him out all season, and Leon Draisaitl getting a huge extension. We wrap up the episode talking baseball, Bowden Francis, and the first week of the NFL season. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! The Bruins made some big splashes on the first day of Free Agency, locking up Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. They essentially swap players with the Canucks as DeBrusk, Heinen, and Forbort sign with the Canucks. It is going to be BIZARRE to see Jake DeBrusk in another jersey after being a Bruin for 7 seasons. The Bruins also signed Max Jones, leaving them with just under $8M as negotiations with Swayman are ongoing. We give our thoughts on how the Bruins are constructed as of July 1st. Can Lysell make the jump? We then pivot to NHL-wide talk as a plethora of big-time moves were made on the opening day (or days leading up to) Free Agency, Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back... and Linus Ullmark is an Ottawa Senator. In return, the Bruins get a first-round pick and the worst statistical goalie from the 2023-24 season- Joonas Korpisalo (at 25% retained), who is signed for four seasons at $3M, and gritty forward Mark Kastelic. We give our reactions to what was a very disappointing trade. Oh yeah, the Florida Panthers won the Cup. Wow, it was brutal to watch Ryan Lomberg lift the Stanley Cup. We then move on to give our outlook on the Draft and Free Agency, and we create our own CapFriendly armchair-GM's as the site is set to close after being purchased by the Capitals. #SignCrosby2K25 Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
The Stanley Cup Final is here.... and we couldn't feel more "meh" about it. We briefly talk about the cup final before turning our focus to the Bruins, and more specifically, Don Sweeney. Should this be his last chance? We take a look back at some prior free agency and draft decisions as Don Sweeney gets set to have more than $20M in cap space. We give our thoughts on the state of the Bruins before the craziness of the offseason gets underway. We then do a quick CapFriendly armchair GM, and pick random obscure Bruins' from the years prior. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back... and the Bruins have been eliminated from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. We give our takes on the series, and the B's centennial season as a whole. This one feels different, and not in a bad way. The B's overachieved and had a great season -- even advancing in the playoffs, which they hadn't done since 2021. For the first time in seemingly forever, they have flexibility with cap space, and are primed for what could be an interesting offseason. Jeremy Swayman proved he's that guy, Mason Lohrei gained important experience, and Jake DeBrusk proved he deserves an extension with the B's. It's weird to feel optimistic after a playoff loss, but here we are. Thank you for listening to another season of us rambling about the Bruins! Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
The Bruins are down 3-1. It's much deserved as the Bruins have been thoroughly outplayed..... but the referees still find a way to insert themselves. Sam Bennett sucker punches Brad Marchand, knocking him out of games 3 and 4. No penalty, no suspension, and no fine, but a new camera angle appeared two days later, confirming what we already knew. Then in game 4, it is legal to Crosscheck Charlie Coyle into Jeremy Swayman, and score the game-tying goal moments later. The Bruins deserve to be in this hole, but the referees could not be any more clueless. The series shifts back to Florida where the end of the season appears to be fast approaching. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! The Bruins split the first two games in Florida, and head back to Boston looking to regroup after a poor showing in Game 2. The Bruins started the series with a great Game 1 win where they got goals from some unexpected names. But... in Game 2, the Bruins only have 15 shots on goal, Jeremy Swayman is left out to dry as no defenseman wanted to play defense, David Pastrnak fights Matthew Tkachuk, Brandon Montour celebrates a 6-1 goal in Brad Marchand's face, and we are all tied up at fun-to-fun! Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! The Bruins, despite blowing a 3-1 stranglehold, manage to mulch the Leafs in game 7 at TD Garden again. Tune in as we give our fresh reaction to game 7, Pastrnak's OT heroics and the overall stress sports create. We recap what an out-of-this-world series was for Jeremy Swayman, Mason Lohrei stepping up nicely, and David Pastrnak coming through when it matters most. We then briefly look ahead to the rematch against Florida, and the challenge that the Panthers present as the series is set to get underway Monday Night in Florida. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! The B's split the first two games of the series as the series shifts back to Toronto. Bradley recounts his trip to Boston for game 1, as the Bruins and the 4th line make their presence felt early in game 1, and then have quite the bad game in game 2. We discuss the goaltending decisions, Peeke's injury, and more! We touch on DeBrusk's excellence so far, Max Domi doing Max Domi things and talk about the play of Brad Marchand. We wrap up the episode talking lineup decisions as we look ahead to games 3 and 4! Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98

We're back! The Bruins head down to Florida for a much-anticipated battle against the Panthers and Lightning! The Panthers, to no one's surprise, are still VERY unlikable. We also discuss the trend of the Bruins blowing leads, which leads to a fiery Montgomery at practice. We discuss Brazeau's impact, Andrew Peeke's fresh start in Boston, and David Pastrnak hitting 100 points on the season (again). We're back for the 2024 trade deadline recap... and the Bruins traded for Pat Maroon and Andrew Peeke! That's on us for joking about both of them last episode. Our apologies. The B's take on an injured Pat Maroon and a defenseman in Peeke that had trouble seeing the ice for a bad Blue Jackets team this year. We break down the trades and what almost was a Linus Ullmark trade! We then take a look at the B's past week, which saw them beat the Leafs twice, and get crosschecked in the throat twice by Jake McCabe. We then go around the NHL and talk about the Hurricanes trading for Jake Guentzel, and Vegas stealing the show and setting themselves up nicely for a back to back cup run. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98

We wrap up the episode by talking about the PWHL Gold Plan and MLB Spring Training. Please, let us know what you think and make sure to check out our twitters: Podcast - @LineChangesPod Alex - @bigbadbruins73 Brad - @bradiey98
We're back! Tune in as we discuss the Bruins 7-game homestand! We discuss the Bruins' defensive issues, which primarily stem from their left-side defensemen. Where do they go from here?
