Bluetooth claims to own the low-power wireless space with its Low Energy (LE) flavor. A newer, yet older entrant in the space wants to claim that throne. That would be Low Energy UWB, or LE-UWB. And now you understand the reference to newer-older. UWB has been around for many years, but the LE variant is relatively new. In addition to lower power, it also offers a much higher bandwidth than Bluetooth, amongst other benefits, all of which are detailed by Frederic Nabki, the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of SPARK Microsystems. Frederic joined me on this week's Embedded Executives podcast.
In the early 1700s, when maps still had blank spaces and “here be dragons” felt like a reasonable warning, a stranger arrived in Europe with a fantastic story to tell. Calling himself George Psalmanazar, and claiming to be a native of far-off Formosa, where people lived in underground houses and dined on human meat. He translated scriptures into a language no one had ever heard and tutored missionaries in the customs and culture of his country. But the greatest fiction wasn't his island at all, it was Psalmanazar himself. And for a while, the world believed every dazzling word.SOURCES Psalmanazar, George (1704) An Historical & Geographical Description of Formosa. London, UK. Psalmanazar, George (1764) Memoirs of ****.

In 1834, Britain sent a man to China almost perfectly unsuited to the job... only to forbid him from actually doing it. William John Napier, naval officer, socialite, & dilettante with no experience in diplomacy, trade, or China, arrived at Canton convinced he was destined to break open the Qing Empire by force of his will alone. But he would not get quite the war he wanted. Nor the recognition he imagined. Nor the vindication he believed history owed him. Which is not to say he got nothing at all... Frederic Fekkai, the celebrity hairstylist and luxury brand mogul, was named in court documents by Virginia Roberts Giuffre as one of the individuals to whom Jeffrey Epstein allegedly trafficked her for sex. Giuffre's sworn testimony placed Fekkai among a group of elite men who, according to her account, participated in Epstein's trafficking ring by engaging in sexual acts with her while she was underage and under Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's control. Fekkai has denied the allegations and has not been charged with any crime, but his inclusion in the unsealed legal filings tied him to the wider web of high-profile names associated with Epstein's network of abuse and exploitation.Unlike some of the more politically prominent figures in Epstein's circle, Fekkai's alleged involvement drew relatively little media attention, despite the gravity of the accusations. He had previously cultivated an image rooted in fashion, luxury, and celebrity culture, with clientele that included some of the most powerful women in the world. His reported proximity to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell underscores the breadth and diversity of Epstein's social reach—stretching from Wall Street to Hollywood, from Buckingham Palace to beauty salons. While no further legal action has been taken against Fekkai, the mention of his name in Giuffre's testimony serves as yet another example of how Epstein's circle was studded with individuals from every corner of elite society, many of whom have faced little to no accountability.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comhttps://www.thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epstein-flaunted-girls-after-his-arrest-at-frederic-fekkais-hair-salon-for-the-starsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Happy Friday! Tyler and Liam are here to break down an absolutely wild 4–3 comeback win for the Edmonton Oilers last night against the Winnipeg Jets. The Oilers were down 3–1 in the second period before a Trent Frederic scrap with Logan Stanley completely flipped the script and changed the momentum. From that moment on, Edmonton found another gear and clawed their way back for a huge victory.Connor McDavid extended his ridiculous point streak to 17 games (tying a career high) with a goal and an assist, continuing to dominate offensively and drag this team forward. The boys also dive into Calvin Pickard's night – three goals on 16 shots in a tough outing, but he still found a way to get the W.Later in the show, Ryder from The Sauce jumps on to talk about the Oilers' mini two-game win streak and whether this group can finally put three straight wins together for the first time this season when they face the LA Kings on Saturday. Then Dennis Bernstein stops by to help preview that matchup as Edmonton prepares to see Los Angeles for the first time this year.To wrap things up, the guys switch gears and give their football picks for Super Wild Card Weekend in the NFL.
Luke Gazdic was the first guest on today's show. He started off with a quick story about his time with the Oil, then gave his thoughts on the Habs, Flames and Jets before he previewed the Oilers game tonight. We also asked if this is the best version we've ever seen from McDavid and will Kapanen and Podkolzin be on Leon's line for the next four games. He finished with his thoughts on Frederic and Mangiapane being healthy scratched. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. After the break it was time for I Got Beef! What are the boys beefing about today? Reid Wilkins capped off hour two with a story, a beef and his thoughts on tonight's Oilers game.

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' struggling bottom six, Kasperi Kapanen's return, Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane being healthy scratched, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what the Oilers can do to get more production out of their bottom six. Given that players like Mangiapane, Frederic, and Henrique haven't scored nearly as much as we'd hope, the question was how the team can get more out of them without just trading someone away. Whether it's giving these guys a defined role or keeping them as healthy scratches, the boys tried their best to figure out a problem the coaches have struggled with all season. Changing gears, we looked at Kasperi Kapanen's return to the lineup and how having him back in the mix gives Kris Knoblauch more line combo options to play with. Given that Kapanen has missed the bulk of the season, it's going to be interesting to see how long he lasts beside Leon Draisaitl, since it's probably going to take a minute for him to get going. The guys also spent some time looking at Andrew Mangiapane and Trent Frederic as healthy scratches and what the decision means for both players moving forward. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with a round of Dan's Game. Seeing as the boys are trying to keep things fresh, Dan wanted to whip something up for the boys to give the first show of the week a little bit of a different flavour. We can't have the quizmaster on call all the time, you know? Did Dan's game work? Will it replace BM's Trivia? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Jarry vs. Skinner game, Leon Draisaitl's 1000th point, and more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a conversation about ginger beef being invented in Calgary and how you can only find it in Western Canada unless the restaurant owner is Canadian. From there, the guys jumped into the Stuart Skinner conversation and how the Oilers celebrated Leon Draisaitl's 1000th point only a few feet away from their former goaltender. Should the Oilers have tried to move the pile away from Stu? Are we being too sensitive about the situation?Changing gears, the conversation turned to Leon Draisaitl's 1000th point picture in the room, and how everyone had a cigarette in their mouth to commemorate his viral wedding photo. From there, Chalmers tried to figure out which players had enjoyed a butt or two based solely on how they had it sitting in their mouths. Sticking with the Oilers, the fellas looked ahead to Thursday's matchup against the Bruins and whether a trip to Boston can be enough to wake up Trent Frederic. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with the Thursday episode of Real Life, covering a random collection of topics, including beefs of the week and maybe a moment or two of Edmonton Oilers hockey talk. Needless to say, when the team is as bad as they've been lately, talking about literally any other topic just seems more enjoyable. As always, the Thursday episode was all over the map, which is precisely what you'd expect from the Real Life podcast. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Mailey as Kelly GreenJulien Samani as FredericBRAN'S AN ALPINE HOLIDAY SYNOPSISThe movie kicks off with old home videos of two sisters, Faith and Kelly, spending Christmas every year with their grandma.Cut to present day: Faith shows up late at night at Kelly's apartment. She's in town from Miami for their grandma's funeral. It's clear the sisters aren't as close as they used to be.The next day, they meet with their grandma's estate lawyer. He gives them her travel journal from when she was younger. It details a trip she took to the French Alps, where she and their grandpa got engaged. Her last request is that Faith and Kelly take the same journey on Christmas Eve. They can't believe it, but they can't go against her final wish. Kelly initially says she can't go — but decides at the last minute to join Faith just as she is leaving.Their first stop is a French café to grab a croissant. They meet their tour guide, Frédéric, who was hired by their grandma but won't say why. He flirts with Kelly before realizing she's his tour guest. The sisters take the train to the French countryside and almost leave grandma's journal behind. Frédéric shows them around the town and takes them to a lodge. Faith invites him to stay with them, which is awkward considering his earlier flirtation with Kelly — but he agrees to stick around.Faith checks in with her boyfriend back home, who is a bit offended she traveled to France to get space after he proposed. The sisters visit a spa with a hot tub and cold plunge, and a fight scares Frédéric away for a moment. The argument doesn't last long, and the trip continues. It turns out Frédéric is the grandson of a woman their grandma met on her original trip. One evening, Kelly opens up to Frédéric about feeling guilty since her grandma passed away. They slow dance and kissgggg — but Kelly quickly becomes emotional, insisting she doesn't want a holiday fling. It's time for the big hike. Things go smoothly until they reach the cabin, where a big storm hits. Faith insists on continuing the hike and heads out on her own.Kelly and Frédéric set out to find her, leading to a heart-to-heart between the sisters. They eventually reach the top of the mountain, leave a lock to commemorate the journey, and Kelly and Frédéric share a romantic kiss.
