This week's episode (originally recorded for YouTube November, 2015) discusses the extraordinary measures people will go to to maintain a dangerous addiction, the perilous misadventures endured, the ambivalence experienced in making the grave decision to start a life of recovery, and, with hope and hard work, the amazing life one can live, free from active addiction. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support
Is this week's episode I comically discuss past relationships, the struggle to move beyond the past how hideous or stunning your ex's new partners are, and why open relationships rarely work out, even if you're both ugly as all hell! In this episode I inteoduce my very good friend, Shannon. Not only is he one of my oldest living friends, but he also taught me how to smoke! And then there was that whole getting drunk for the first time on a 6-pack of Mickey's grenades and shitting in a dryer....

Going out for a walk and a good joke, remembering old friends and always thinking about death and suicide can get a little heavy, even for me. But I still see the value in talking about all of these topics. ESPECIALLY a good joke. Btw, the punchline is "And it's STILL not as offensive as wearing blackface!" L
I've been to a lotta strange places, had a lotta weird experiences, but if I'm never to dream the same dream as those whose souls rest well in the darkness, like ink wells, spilled out like oily Gulf birds the bleedin hearts
Of the many causes for concern in western society and American culture in particular, there is one indisputable effect plaguing our daily life that has and will defeat our civilization, leaving us in the perpetual decline of not only our autonomy, but our will to regain it once all possibilities have long since passed us by, and only a foggy memory of yesterday's dream of truly living will remain. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support
It seems that my nemesis continues to stalk me. I can blame him, the poor soul, for he's only a harbinger of chaos and death. It is those who wish to be his master that have conditioned him to seek human prey. They are the true monsters, and it is they who will carry cast to the fires in hell for the sin of dehumanizing this sullen and loveless child of a system designed to make monsters, and make those who fear the night eat themselves in desperate delight. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support
I had the distinct honor of hanging out with this up and coming band that boasts of their sound as being a "progressive power metal." I am inclined to agree. So much to say and so few words come to mind. That's the way goes, though, these days, I'm lucky to know which day it is! The week's a blur. Sobriety sickenz me sometimes, but it's worth it, you know! Soon will be 1 year, and I'll raise my hand and say... "Sorry, I'm late! Is somebody sitting here? We are in a whirlwind of historical, political, world changing events right now! What's happened has blown my mind more than any bit of news, second hit of acid, or the realization that I should use extra large condoms! THIS IS HUGE!! I'm talking about... ZIPPER. This metal band, made up of just a few young dudes who absolutely thrash and rip to shreads whatever preconceived notions of what "kids today" call METAL. They're playin from the heart, and they're using their brilliant young minds to fashion a path onto the Madison music scene with breakout jams LIVE downtown on State Street, and recording music whenever they can to create what will be a new testament to modern metal. I can't show you how excited I am to see how this develops, but I can assure you that I will be supporting these guys
In this OFFICIAL Season 2 debut episode I will go a few jokes that I've red flagged and want to offer some context to, as to soothe and otherwise relieve any tension between me and my audience. But the main topic is the announcement of my book. Now, I know I've been talking about this for literal YEARS, but I've finally settled on a direction, a format, subject and title. If you'd like to know more, of course, listen to the podcast, and if you're REALLY CURIOUS to know more about all the things I'm talking about, then shoot me a message on either my Facebook or Instagram accounts and volunteer to make yourself subject to conversations and possibly debate. Only time (if it's real) will tell. Right?
Just something I had to get off my chest. STAY SAFE! And remember, I don't care that you're WOKE, because I haven't been sleeping! Take care.☝
That's right! We're closing out the first season, and on a bit of a sour note. It is what it is, and I'm not gonna cry about it or make excuses. I'm grateful for everyone's patronage to this point, and I hope that you'll all join me in the second season and I look forward to bringing more insights, crude humor and intelligible streams of consciousness very, very soon! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support

Don't ever let nobody tell you different! You're all fuckin awesome, and I love you! And there ain't a goddamn thing you can do about it.
We will get into the specifics, of course, but I want to know what YOU know about love. Fill me in and I will envelop you in a chasm of sticky song and dance
The price of knowing a greater truth is in suffering the difficulty of not having the ability to convey it to others. If only I could grab everyone I see on the street and tell them! Just tell them that I love them and hug them, and try to convince them that everything is good and that we're all one, and it's all going to be alright, there's nothing to fear, we made all of this so that we would have something to do, and it's only because we gave ourselves a reflection to look at and have someone to talk to and play with us that got us all confused. We just have to slow down our vibration enough to come back to one, and then we can see where we start and end, and that there is neither. We have always been, and always will. There is no death, just new forms... man, what a better world it could be.

This episode is about the weird ways we tend to get lost in the moment. So much so, sometimes, that we may even risk losing our lives. Or, at the very least, our clothes.
And so do HOMELESS LIVES, and the lives of those with mental health issues! When we talk about the Black Community, and that Black Lives Matter, the immediate response from so many is the retort that “All Lives Matter.” The seriousness, urgency, and desperate call for help is lost in poorly enforced semantics. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support

Hello, all!
It's not how you begin, or where you wind up that you'll recall... it's the journey within yourself that you'll remember most. This is a brief piece with me reciting some readings about birth and death, grief and sorrow, losing hope and moving on in life. In today's show I go into the different ways we react to uncomfortable moments and how those reactions cause lead to more heartache and unnecessary strife. Especially while navigating through a world in which social distance is paramount, must we be careful and considerate in how we treat sensitive situations, be it an unexpected errand or cause, a sudden accident or injury, or even the death of someone we love. We mustn't deny ourselves the opportunity to grieve and process of feelings, while also being sure to not weaponize our emotions and exploit those around us. Please feel free to offer any comments or conclusions you might have come through and share your experiences so that others among us might have some guidance when life on life's terms to pass. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/madcitypodcast/support

You know how people just can't seem to grasp the simple concept of "shared reality" when they're trying to convince you that what they're doing is their natural purpose and right, even though it's counterintuitive to your agreed community standards, and you just want them to understand that the universe is bigger than their trivial issue, but now you'd be grateful if they would just go away and stop pretending that they're a victim in their own shit soup? Well, so am I! Instead, let's choose to share some kinds.

Perspective! By far, perspective is fundamentally the most important piece in my life puzzle. It brings us benefit from loss. Truth from lies. Giving us an opportunity to live life knowing that this space is temporary, and that makes it sacred. With perspective we are free from death, because we know that it, too, is temporary.
