William Jay Risch (Ph.D., The Ohio State University, 2001) is Associate Professor of History at Georgia College, where he teaches courses on modern global, Russian, and East-European history. He is the author of The Ukrainian West: Culture and the Fate of Empire in Soviet Lviv (Harvard University Press, 2011), as well as numerous academic articles and book chapters, and most recently he edited Youth and Rock in the Soviet Bloc: Youth Cultures, Music, and the State in Russia and Eastern Europe (Lexington Books, 2015).

A frequent Sanders surrogate on TV and radio, Tasini has written for The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Business Week, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times. In 2006 Tasini unsuccessfully challenged Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary because of her vote for the Iraq War.
