From Wikipedia: In separate flashbacks, Saul asks Mike and Walter about their regrets;  another flashback shows Chuck asking Jimmy whether he ever considered a  different path in life. In 2010, Gene is caught and arrested, enlisting  former rival Bill Oakley as his co-counsel and negotiating a deal for  only seven years in prison, claiming to be a victim of Walt's schemes.  He also offers to confess to Howard's death, only to learn that Kim has  already done so. Saul is extradited to Albuquerque for his trial and  lies about new testimony involving Kim to get her to appear in court. He  then admits his full involvement in Walt's empire and Chuck's suicide,  and reverts to using the name James McGill; he is given an 86-year  sentence. From Wikipeida: In a flashback, Kim meets with Saul to finalize their divorce and has an encounter with Jesse outside his office. Gene narrowly escapes the cancer-stricken man's house after he wakes up. Jeff is arrested and blamed for the burglary after he panics and runs into another car when a police car idles behind him, forcing Gene to enlist Marion to help him get out on bail. Suspicious, Marion uses the new computer Jeff bought her with the department store money to search for Gene's true identity on Ask Jeeves, and calls the authorities with her Life Alert button when Gene tries to intimidate her, forcing him to flee.

This week we had a visual treat as we jumped back and fourth between the Gene Takovitch universe and the Better Call Saul timeline with some of our favourite characters including the return of Franchescha and Mike. From Wikkipedia: In flashbacks to 2008 in Albuquerque, Saul takes on Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as clients, deducing the former to be "Heisenberg" – the chemist behind the high-purity blue methamphetamine being sold on the streets. Mike informs Saul that Walt has terminal lung cancer and cautions Saul against helping him, but Saul nevertheless decides to visit Walt at the high school where he teaches to offer his assistance in growing Walt's business. In 2010, Gene calls Francesca, who tells him that the FBI has seized most of Saul's assets, and that Kim once called asking about Jimmy. Gene attempts to reach Kim in Florida, but the call emotionally upsets him for unknown reasons. Gene then enlists Jeff and Buddy for a new con in which Gene gets their mark drunk, Jeff drives them home while giving them water laced with barbiturates, and Buddy enters the home to photograph the unconscious mark's IDs, credit cards, and financial records to sell for profit. After a string of successful cons, their latest target reveals he has cancer, causing Buddy to back out; Gene cuts him out of the operation and forces Jeff to drive him to the man's home, where he breaks in.

Gene confronts Jeff and offers to let him in "the game". The two collaborate with a friend of Jeff's to run a scheme where they will burgle a department store in the Omaha mall where Gene works. Gene does his part by befriending and distracting the security guards with Cinnabons and small talk about Nebraska Cornhuskers football while Jeff steals expensive merchandise under a strict time limit. When Jeff trips on a slippery floor, Gene gains him extra time to recover by telling a sob story (a true one, albeit lacking personal details) about his loneliness to cover for him. The three get away with thousands of dollars in stolen goods. However, upon completion of the task, Gene tells Jeff to keep his distance from him in the future, and threatens to turn him and his friend in to the authorities for various crimes if he fails to do so, even if it means getting caught himself. Energized by the con's success, Gene wistfully finds a Saul Goodman-style dress shirt in the department store but leaves without purchasing it.

From Wikipedia: On the day of the Sandpiper settlement hearing, Jimmy and Kim scramble to restage their photos with the film crew and the actor standing in for Casimiro, then pass them to Howard's PI, who is secretly working for them. Howard falls for the ruse, embarrassing himself and his company at the hearing. Schweikart reverts to his less-generous prior offer, which Cliff and Howard are compelled to accept. Meanwhile, Lalo, having returned to Albuquerque, spies on Gus' laundry from a storm drain. Lalo calls Hector and, realizing the line has been tapped, tells his uncle that he will attack Gus that night; Mike redirects his security team from lower-priority targets to protect Gus and the laundry. Howard visits Jimmy and Kim's apartment and asks why they went to such elaborate lengths to humiliate him, accusing them of being sociopaths who enjoy running cons. From Wikipedia In a strained conversation with his wife, Howard says he is attempting to end Jimmy's harassment campaign. Howard's investigator reports Jimmy and Kim are keeping a regular routine, except for a recent $20,000 cash withdrawal. Caldera says he is retiring from crime and shows Kim and Jimmy his encrypted book of criminal contacts. Jimmy and his camera crew photograph an actor impersonating Rand Casimiro, the mediator in the Sandpiper case. Cliff invites Kim to Santa Fe to meet representatives of a foundation that finances projects similar to her pro bono criminal defense work, which coincides with the day she and Jimmy will execute their plan against Howard. Jimmy encourages her to go but later spots Casimiro, whose recently broken arm is in a cast, which is not visible in any of their photos. In response, Kim cancels her Santa Fe plans and drives back to Albuquerque. From Wikipedia Kim is meeting with Cliff Main at a coffee shop when Jimmy disguises himself as Howard and takes his car. He picks up Wendy from a motel, then pretends to force her out of the car while driving past Kim and Cliff, making it appear that Howard is using prostitutes. After being kicked out of the nail salon for attracting high traffic, Jimmy scouts a new office. While meeting a pro bono client, Kim again spots the car that is following her and confronts the occupants. Nacho reports rumors that some cocaine Gus provides the Salamancas is inferior, which Lalo confirms. Lalo accepts Gus' cover story but remains suspicious. Saul gives away his remaining cell phones to publicize his criminal law practice. Jimmy answers the questions eloquently at his reinstatement hearing, but his application is denied. The chairman suggests Jimmy's answers were insincere, and when he recounts the details to Kim, she explains to Jimmy that he did not mention Chuck. Jimmy's relationship with Chuck caused his suspension, so the panel expected Jimmy to discuss it. He defensively accuses Kim of "slumming" with him whenever she needs something, while Kim says she is always supportive and Jimmy causes his own problems. That night, Jimmy starts moving out, but Kim stops him and offers to help him win reinstatement. Lalo visits Hector and improves his communication ability with a concierge bell Lalo kept as a souvenir after Hector killed a hotelier and burned the building. Lalo thanks Gus for saving Hector's life and paying for his treatment. He then asks Nacho to show him where the Salamancas receive their drugs after Gus's trucks bring them from Mexico. Werner's crew blows up the rock preventing construction of the elevator and celebrates that their work is almost done. Werner misses his wife and escapes. S4 E10 "Winner" In a flashback, Chuck feigns enthusiasm on the day Jimmy becomes an attorney. In 2004, Kim helps Jimmy's appeal by arranging public displays where he feigns grief for Chuck. He tells her the other panel members didn't select her and counsels her that the powerful will never look past her youthful mistake, so she should do whatever is necessary to get ahead. At his appeal, Jimmy speaks extemporaneously about how he wants to bring credit to the McGill name if allowed to practice law again. His appeal succeeds, and even Kim believes him, but he reveals it was a con, and his declaration that he will not practice under his own name stuns her. Lalo surveils Gus's drug operation and learns about its regular activities. Werner plans a rendezvous with his wife and Lalo tricks him into revealing lab construction details over the phone before Mike ends the call. Kim's arm has healed, and to Jimmy's chagrin she thrives at Schweikart & Cokely, with Mesa Verde's expansion continuing on schedule and Kim finding time to work on the pro bono criminal defense cases that give her satisfaction. Jimmy plans his return to practicing law, including searching for an office. His business re-selling prepaid phones on the street continues to grow, and he increasingly uses his "Saul Goodman" alias. Huell is arrested for assaulting a police officer who tries to get Jimmy to end his phone business and Jimmy involves Kim in defending him. He tries to get her to smear the police officer so the charges will be dropped, but she refuses, telling Jimmy she has a better way. Hector begins recovering from his stroke, so Gus dismisses Dr. Bruckner, in effect trapping Hector's recovered mind in his unhealed body. Mike observes Werner's crew during construction of the underground meth lab; work proceeds more slowly than expected, frustrating the crew, and Mike has to step in to break up a fight. S4 E8 "Coushatta" Kim enlists S&C employees in Huell's defense and indicates she'll bury prosecutor Suzanne Ericsen in paperwork. Jimmy takes a bus ride, uses a variety of pens and paper to write supportive mail for Huell, and enlists other passengers to help. The mail is sent with return addresses and postmarks from Coushatta, Louisiana, Huell's hometown. Suzanne investigates, but Jimmy has arranged for a fake church website and pay-as-you go cellular phones that Jimmy and his TV ad film crew answer. The phony support causes Suzanne to accept a plea that keeps Huell out of jail. Kim is elated, and tells Jimmy she wants to engage in similar behavior again. Mike arranges a strip club outing for Werner and his crew. Kai starts a fight, but the real problem is Werner, who drunkenly discusses underground concrete construction details with strangers. A fully healed Nacho takes prominence in the Salamanca organization and trains Domingo to punish dealers who do not meet their weekly quota. "Lalo" Salamanca arrives to aid in running the business.
