Join Jamie & Simon as they Rewind cult TV Show Better Call Saul.  This week we deep dive S2 E5 Rebecca and S2 E6 Bali Ha'i and explore the show's symbolism, symmetry and plot twists. S2 E5 Rebecca In a flashback, Jimmy visits Chuck shortly after moving to Albuquerque. He meets Chuck's wife, Rebecca (Ann Cusack) and succeeds in charming her, making Chuck uncomfortable. Chuck's later attempt to imitate Jimmy falls flat. In the present, Jimmy meets Kim in the HHM document room and proposes she sue the firm. Kim refuses, pointing out that no firm would ever hire her again, and tells Jimmy to worry about his job while she worries about hers. Kim tries to get out of the document review room by working her professional and school contacts to land a major new client. She succeeds in securing the business of Mesa Verde Bank, a local institution planning to expand regionally. Howard is pleased to have the lucrative new client, but does not give Kim credit, and keeps her working in document review. Chuck tells Kim that when the McGills owned a store in Cicero, Jimmy supposedly embezzled money, which led to the store's failure. Having warned Kim about Jimmy, Chuck promises to approach Howard about moving her out of document review. Mike is approached by Tuco's uncle, Hector Salamanca, who offers Mike $5,000 to claim the gun Tuco was carrying at Mike's assault was Mike's, which will reduce Tuco's jail sentence. S2 E6 Bali Ha'i Jimmy finds it difficult adjusting to his new job at D&M, and is unable to sleep in his corporate apartment, finding comfort only when he returns to his old boiler room office. With Chuck's help, Kim is reinstated to her old position at HHM, but she is treated coldly by Howard who gives her the most humiliating and menial assignments, such as arguing unwinnable motions in court. Kim is approached by Rich Schweikart of Schweikart & Cokely, who tells her he was impressed with her performance in arguing a motion she was sure to lose, and offers to hire her at S&C. Unsure of what to do, Kim relieves her stress by running another con with Jimmy, fooling an investor into giving them a $10,000 check, which Kim keeps as a souvenir. Mike refuses Hector's deal, but Hector wages an intimidation campaign, including having subordinates break into Mike's house to scare him, and Leonel and Marco Salamanca silently threatening to kill Kaylee. Mike agrees to say the gun was his, but demands $50,000, to which Hector agrees. Mike gives $25,000 to Nacho and explains that since Tuco's sentence will be reduced, Mike has failed to uphold his part of their deal, so he is obligated to return what Nacho paid.

Trabajó en Hollywood en películas como “Swing time” con Fred Astaire y Ginger Rogers y ganó dos Oscar a la mejor canción original por “The last time I saw Paris” (1941) y “It might as well be spring” (1945), aunque se prodigó más en Broadway. 00h 00'00" Presentación 00h 04'55" Cabecera 00h 05'30" I won't dance - Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga 00h 09'24" The folks who lives on the hill - Eric Clapton 00h 13'02" If I loved you - Sierra Boggess & Julian Ovenden 00h 18'29" Bali Ha'i - Sarah Vaughan 00h 22'14" Hello, young lovers - Laura Michelle Kelly 00h 25'29" I have dreamed - Bryn Terfel 00h 29'04" Indian love call - Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy 00h 32'01" Mister Snow - Audra McDonald 00h 35'34" A kiss to build a dream - Tony Bennett & k.d.lang 00h 38'53" Edelweiss - Bryn Terfel & Paul Daniel 00h 41'28" I enjoy being a girl - Sandra Allen 00h 47'21" No other love - Michael Feinstein 00h 51'35" My lord and master - Lea Salonga 00h 53'37" Bloody Mary - Ambrosian Singers 00h 55'40" Getting to know you - James Taylor 00h 58'21" You've got to be carefully taught - Harry Connick jr 00h 59'48" Love, look away - Lea Salonga 01h 02'35" Oh, what a beautiful morning - Hugh Jackman 01h 05'55" Something wonderful - Marilyn Horne 01h 09'23" Old man river - Inia Te Wiata 01h 13'56" The last time I saw Paris - Eartha Kitt 01h 17'38" Happy talk - Doris Day 01h 20'34" Soliloquy - Samuel Ramsey 01h 27'47" I'm gonna wash that man - Glenn Close, Ilene Graff & The nurses 01h 30'35" When I grow too old to dream - Nat King Cole 01h 34'02" A wonderful guy - Glenn Close & The nurses 01h 37'25" You'll never walk alone - Matthew Morrison 01h 40'14" My favorite things - Rebecca Luker 01h 42'55" Lover, come back - Nat King Cole 01h 45'22" I whistle a happy tune - Julie Andrews 01h 47'05" All the things you are - Carly Simon 01h 51'32" Some enchanted evening - Philip Quast 01h 54'23" This nearly was mine - José Carreras 01h 58'01" What's the use of wonderin' - Barbara Cook 02h 02'07" The song is you - Bing Crosby 02h 06'59" The sound of music - Petula Clark 02h 10'10" There is nothing like a dame - Ambrosian Singers 02h 13'59" Can't help lovin' that man - Kiri Te Kanawa & Natalie Cole 02h 19'34" The surrey with the fringe on top - Hugh Jackman & Josefina Gabrielle 02h 25'25" People will say we're in love - Doris Day 02h 28'16" Maria - Gina Ferrall, Ann Browne, Jeanne Lehman & Patti Cohenour 02h 30'33" Climb every mountain - Audra McDonald

As a young girl growing up in Norway, Annicken R Day fell in love with old Hollywood movies, especially the musical South Pacific from 1958. When she visited the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i thirty years later, she learned by coincidence that South Pacific had been filmed there and that the mystical island of Bali Ha'i indeed existed. That was when the idea for the story about Maya Williams first came to her, a story inspired by Annicken's own life and experiences, and by people—and butterflies—she has met on her journey. After fifteen years as a leader and executive in the IT industry, Annicken jumped off the corporate treadmill in 2012 to start her own company, Corporate Spring, with a mission to make the corporate world a happier place. Since then she and her team have helped and trained thousands of leaders around the world on how to build thriving corporate cultures, high performing teams, and successful businesses. Annicken is the founder and CEO of Corporate Spring, co-author of the book Creative Superpowers, a public speaker, executive advisor, and a passionate maverick for new ways of thinking, working, and leading in the new world of work. World War II didn’t seem like ancient history in 1949 when South Pacific made its Broadway premiere. Sadly, its warnings of the damage that bigotry and prejudice can do aren’t ancient history now as it bows at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center. Based on James Michener’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Tales of the South Pacific, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II and Joshua Logan took a couple of the stories, softened some of the characters and created an immensely popular musical tale of wartime love. Set on two islands in the South Pacific during the war, two love stories are at the center of this tale. Navy Nurse Nellie Forbush (Heather Buck) finds herself falling in love with French expatriate plantation owner Emile de Becque (William O’Neill). Mssr. de Becque has a somewhat mysterious past, which doesn’t seem to bother Nellie too much. Well, at least not as much as the fact that he has bi-racial children born of a youthful relationship with a Polynesian girl. Meanwhile, newly-arrived Lt. Joe Cable (James Raasch) flips head over heels (in what seems like record time, even for a Broadway musical) for local girl Liat (Maya Babow). Liat’s mother, Bloody Mary (Elsa Fulton), is anxious to marry her off. Joe, however, just can’t imagine bringing her back to his Philadelphia family. Nellie and Joe end their relationships. Emile and Joe head off on a dangerous military mission, but will love be the ultimate casualty? Classic songs like “There’s Nothing Like a Dame”, “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair”, the enchanting “Bali Ha’i” and the beautiful “Some Enchanted Evening” fill out the story, with the daring-for-1949 “You’ve Got to be Carefully Taught” driving home the source of people’s prejudices. Musical director Nancy Hayashibara and her 11-piece orchestra deliver the lush score and Buck and O’Neill are in excellent voice and character with O’Neill’s operatic training put to good use here. Nice comedic support comes from William Thompson as Seabee ‘entrepreneur’ Luther Billis and Jeff Coté as harried Captain Brackett. Elsa Fulton steals every scene in which Bloody Mary appears. Directors Jim Coleman and Sheri Lee Miller keep things moving at a good pace through the two-hour, forty-five-minute running time, but there are some flat spots and things do get a bit sluggish in Act II. Don’t dive too deeply in the waters and you’ll find yourself enjoying the music and appreciating the message of South Pacific. South Pacific runs through February 25 at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park. Friday and Saturday performances at 8pm with 2pm matinees on Sunday. There’s also a Thursday, February 22 performance at 7:30pm. For more information, google Spreckels Performing Arts Center. They’ve got a funky city web address.
