Rhea Seehorn studied visual arts in college, but when she was asked to take an extracurricular, she took a technique and craft class on acting. “I was completely hooked,” she told me. You know her best as Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul, but maybe you've also seen her in Trust Me, Whitney, House of Lies, Franklin & Bash, Veep and Bad Boys - Ride or Die. In her latest project, Cooper's Bar, she's listed as a Co-Creator, Performer, Screenwriter, and Director. The plot follows her character, “Kris Latimer, the biggest jerk in Hollywood, who stumbles into Cooper Marino's backyard Tiki bar oasis, where Cooper and his down-on-their-luck pals pull themselves together for one last shot at their big break.” In this interview, she talks about approaching line memorization as a visual learner, writing essays versus writing screenplays, advice from Peter Gould on character (“kicking the tires”), and reveals she's working with Breaking Bad Creator Vince Gilligan on a new series for Apple. Kim Wexler quickly became a fan favorite on Better Call Saul. So, who is Kim, and what makes her so intriguing?
The tournament of fictional attorneys begins! The attorneys are judged on their legal acumen and likability, while we are reminded to put aside our feelings on the source material from which each attorney hails. Kim Wexler is a better attorney than Jack Kelly, but does she have the familiarity or likability to move on? Why are there two Arrested Development attorneys in this tourney? And will Vincent Gambini, Benjamin Matlock, Elle Woods, or Jackie Chiles take it all the way? Listen to find out who will move on to the semifinals! In April of 2020, Mase & Sue had the chance to talk with Rhea Seehorn about her portrayal of Kim Wexler on BETTER CALL SAUL. She talks about her character arc & how this show has changed her life. It is a great conversation.
For her role as the ethically flexible attorney Kim Wexler in “Better Call Saul,” Rhea Seehorn is nominated for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series. She joins “The Envelope” host Yvonne Villarreal to delve into the show's last twists and turns and talk about the scariest day on the set. Seehorn also discusses her efforts to balance gratitude with confidence and shares stories about how her father's alcoholism shaped her. Dressed in their most colourful suits and learning golf from Bernie Madoff's instructor, Bankole and Ebube gather to discuss, one final time, the 'Better Call Saul' series finale. They start by deciding whether this series finale actually qualifies as a happy ending in the Breaking Bad world (4:59) before going into the episode's use of returning characters and how they fit into and helped the story (15:15) and Better Call Saul's reiteration of Walter White's character (26:17). They also discuss Kim Wexler's events in the finale and a possible new lease on life (30:28) while praising the very impressive feat of storytelling that was the Gilligan-verse (38:01). To wrap up, they check in with the last notes the show made about Mike and Gus (43:53). Ben and Joanna begin their review of the series finale of 'Better Call Saul' by sharing their individual podcast preparation rituals and analyzing the episode's promo art. They then discuss Gene's escape attempt, his transformation back into Saul Goodman once he's in jail, and Marie Schrader's cameo (10:24). Next, they go over Gene's cinematic scene with the prosecuting lawyers and use callbacks from the series to talk about the reappearance of Kim Wexler and Jimmy's climactic trial/confession scene (26:40). After the break, they dive deep into the trio of flashbacks that feature Mike, Walter, and Chuck, while thoughtfully evoking storyline comparisons to H.G. Wells's "The Time Machine" and Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" (41:18). They then pivot to final scenes between Jimmy and Kim, and theorize possible future scenarios for Wexler's character (1:08:34). They end the pod by comparing the 'Better Call Saul' finale to some of their other favorites, and offer their final thoughts on the series (1:25:26). Fresh off the “Better Call Saul” series finale, Rhea Seehorn joins us to delve into the show's last twists and turns and to give insight into her Emmy-nominated portrayal of ethically flexible attorney Kim Wexler. If Kim and Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill character were to get a do-over, how far back in time would they have to travel to put themselves on track for a happily-ever-after? Probably all the way back to the beginning of the series, when they worked together in the mailroom, Seehorn muses. “They would go out with each other, fall in love and then get really, really great therapists.”In this episode of “The Envelope,” she also discusses her efforts to balance gratitude with confidence in her skills, how her father's alcoholism shaped her as an actor and the scariest day on the “Better Call Saul” set: when Odenkirk suffered a heart attack right in front of her. Gabe and Luke are back for another new Better Call Saul episode and wow was there a lot to talk about with this penultimate episode titled “Waterworks". The return of Kim Wexler totally destroyed us and we felt this was easily one of the strongest instalments of the entire show. Vince is a master of his craft and Rhea Seehorn somehow continues to top herself, further cementing Kim Wexler as one of TV's greatest characters. What a show, what an episode and we are so sad the series finale is just days away, we don't want this to end but can't wait to see how it all wraps up! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tv-sessions/message
After some Better Call Saul recap talk (Where did you go Kim Wexler?) we discuss the ramifications of Snyder's 10+ hours of Congressional testimony. With no bombshell leaks it was probably a lot of nothing. Next up it's the strange saga of the Kyler Murray Homework Contract Clause that was included and then stricken. From his new mega contract. We also look at the contract in comparison to the insane Watson deal and implications for Lamar Jackson. We close with Juan Soto, who we now know was in fact traded yesterday, but at the time of recording it was only speculation. The hypothetical we looked at was if you were the next Nationals owner would you like no giants contracts to deal with or a generational talent who is not yet 25?

Bret talks with Rhea Seehorn ("Better Call Saul") and Lou Mustillo ("The Sopranos") about their new web series, "Cooper's Bar," a unique watering hole born from one man's dream of the perfect tiki bar experience. The bar just happens to be in Mustillo's real life L.A. back yard, which attracts a quirky cast of characters trying to find fame and fortune in Hollywood. Rhea and Lou talk about how an actual, abandoned tiki bar helped inspire the show and their personal stories that fueled some of the episodes. And, of course, Bret asks Rhea about "Better Call Saul," and the fate of her character, Kim Wexler.
Rhea Seehorn plays Kim Wexler in BETTER CALL SAUL, she was also a star in the HBO hit VEEP. Lou Mustillo played Vince on the CBS hit MIKE AND MOLLY, he also had a recurring role on THE SOPRANOS. Both are creators and star in the new AMC show COOPER'S BAR. They join After Hours to talk about how the show came together. They also talk about how they view the different worlds of entertainment. Plus Lubie talks about the brick fest that was the NBA Finals Game 5. The Warriors outlasted the Celtics after a rough night for both Steph Curry AND Jayson Tatum. Our longtime Better Call Saul correspondent Will Leitch returns along with BCS to discuss the first episodes of the show's final season. Which moments made us think, "Ah yes, our show is back"? How have we revised our predictions on what happens to Kim Wexler? When and where will we see Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as the story comes to a close? And can we please get Lalo Babies to happen? After a quick gold-potty break, we went Around The Dial with Russian Doll, The First Lady, Just One Kiss, Severance, Winning Time, The Tournament(ACK!), and When Calls The Heart, before Mike S. asked us to assign aughts TV characters their own podcasts for Extra Credit. Rhea Seehorn may be best known for playing the very serious Kim Wexler opposite Bob Odenkirk on ‘Better Call Saul,' which premiered its highly anticipated final season this week. But for the first 15 years or so of her acting career, she couldn't break out of the “sitcom” box. In this episode, the actress opens up about getting “pigeonholed” in the comedy world, fighting to get the role that transformed her career, and then proving that she can still be hilarious by going toe-to-toe with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on ‘Veep.' Plus, Seehorn teases season six of ‘Better Call Saul,' including what it's been like to have Bob Odenkirk back on set after his heart attack, how she feels about Tony Dalton's Lalo surviving last season's finale and what those finger guns were all about. Juli. Join Jamie & Simon as they Rewind Better Call Saul S1E5 and deep dive into the show's symbolism, symmetry and plot twists. From Wikipedia: Chuck's neighbor reports him for taking her newspaper. Mistakenly believing his empty propane cans and damaged electrical lines indicate illegal drug production, the police break down Chuck's door, taser him, then arrest him. Chuck is hospitalized, and the doctor, believing that his "disease" is psychosomatic, wants to have him committed, but Jimmy declines. Jimmy's newfound fame attracts less than promising clients, including one who wants to secede from the United States. He meets an elderly woman who wants him to prepare a will. Her bequests consist almost entirely of leaving her Hummel figurines to various friends and family members, but she pays in cash. Jimmy's rapport with her leads his colleague Kim Wexler to suggest that he specialize in elder law. Jimmy begins promoting himself at a nursing home, including clothing patterned after the titular character of the TV series Matlock. Mike is visited at home by several Philadelphia police officers.
Hello! How are you? Good? Good! We missed you. With the 5th season dropping on Netflix, we figured this was the perfect time to jump back into the world of Kim Wexler. And what's that? On the horizon right over there? It's season 6 airing on April 18th?!?!? Well hot damn this show is relevant again!
This week we are avoiding getting eaten by cockroaches while we discuss “War of the Coprophages”! We're talking CMB (Classic Mulder Behavior), how delightful it is to watch Mulder and Scully just hanging out, Mulder's girly scream, revise our Scully snack policy, but most importantly, welcome back Scully's dog! We gush over Darin Morgan's writing as per usual, wonder whether Scully and Kim Wexler would hang out, find out that Mulder definitely has a type, and mourn the poor cockroach that died of old age. The Truth Is How You Look At It: A Better Call Saul & Breaking Bad Podcast
Good afternoon folks and welcome to another installment of The Truth Is How You Look At It! This episode features one of my favourite scenes in the whole first season as Jimmy & Mike team up to track down and remove the rest of the money from the Kettleman family's house in an important step forward in resolving a law case that neither Jimmy nor HHM want. We get some closure from the previous episode as well from Philadelphia as the police officers investigating Mike's case decide to look elsewhere for information. Jimmy also finds himself in an interesting situation as he offers to have Kim Wexler on as a partner in a new office space in a beautiful Albuquerque high rise. Unfortunately for him, Kim can't find it in her to join him at this time, leaving Jimmy ultimately disappointed as we see a new side of his character. All this and more on the show, cheers!
In this episode Mark talks about one of his favourite TV shows: the American crime drama television series "Better Call Saul" created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Both a spin-off of, as well as a prequel to, the successful TV series "Breaking Bad", created by Vince Gilligan, the series revolves around the character of Jimmy McGill - an earnest lawyer and former con-man - and his series-long transformation into becoming the greedy criminal defense attorney and fan favourite "Saul Goodman". The series also serves to dramatise vital moments in the back story of several "Breaking Bad" characters and their connections to one another - such as: Mike Ehrmantraut (played by Jonathan Banks), Gus Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito); and the series also introduces characters who Jimmy/Saul has a personal relationship with, as well as a more business-like relationship to, such as: Jimmy's brother Chuck McGill (played by Michael McKean), Howard Hamlin (played by Patrick Fabian), Nacho Varga (played by Michael Mando), Lalo Salamanca (played by Tony Dalton), and Jimmy's former colleague and love interest Kim Wexler (played by Rhea Seehorn) who undergoes a compelling evolution as a character throughout the series similar to that of, and definitely influenced by, Jimmy McGill's transformation into Saul Goodman - and it remains to be seen where the character of Kim Wexler is during the time of "Breaking Bad", and during the flash-foward events when Saul Goodman has become Gene Takavic, the manager of a Cinnabon store in Omagh, Nebreska, living as a fugitive from the law. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/markthepoet/message

This week’s guest is super nice human RHEA SEEHORN. She has also appeared in Whitney (NBC), I'm With Her (ABC), Franklin & Bash (TNT) and dozens of other shows. She also co-stars in Colin West’s soon to be released sci-fi comedy Linoleum. If you’re interested in mastering your particular craft, this will be an hour well spent. Rhea reminds us that success is in the eye of the beholder … that is to say, even the most talented actors – and Rhea is among the most talented actors working today -- worry that their careers could be cut short at any moment. As you’ll learn, the fear of that is a double-edged motivator. We also talk about COVID exceptionalism, animated television, what a yellow light means (you think you know but I bet you don’t), the LAX butthole and, of course, her wonderful character Kim Wexler and the upcoming final season of Better Call Saul. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 64th episode of "VideoFuzzy," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 2,800 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Unfluential," I allow as how my recent birthday nudged me out of the prized 18-49 marketing demographic. I congratulate "Project Runway" season 18 winner Geoffrey Mac. In my Friday Night Feature, I feature the series finale of "The Shield." I explore the storytelling throughout that series and the media environment of the late Naughties. In Cross Connections, I retrace some connections for "The Shield," as well as connections through "Will & Grace" and "Motherland: Fort Salem." Also, my discussion of "6 Souls" highlights it as an especially intersectional inclusion in my collection. In my VideoFuzzy at the Movies collection, I comment on cable presentations of "Black Panther," "Thor: Ragnarok," Kenneth Branagh's "Murder on the Orient Express," "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri," "6 Souls," "mother!" and, from my own collection, "The Room." Yup, at about the 30:00 mark, this episode features the VideoFuzzy review of "The Room." You are welcome. In my VHS-to-DVD "Classic Collection," I contrast "The Shield" with an especially disappointing second season episode of "Life." Also, comments on "Chuck," "Boston Legal," "Ugly Betty" and actor Michael Urie, "South Park," "The Simpsons," and "Criminal Minds." In my direct-to-DVD "Current Collection," I discuss the series finale of "The Magicians," along with comments on "Briarpatch," "Vagrant Queen," "Will & Grace" and their "I Love Lucy" episode, "Superstore" and CheyFest 2020 -- get destroyed! -- "Dispatches From Elsewhere," "Brockmire," "Cake," Syfy's "TZGZ," selected IFC rebroadcasts of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," and comments on "Better Call Saul," highlighting standout performances by Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler. Also, congratulations to Christine Morse on her and her lovely family's appearance in a regional commercial -- well done! Finally, under Old Business, I talk about DVR issues I had while recording the series finale of "The Magicians," and I reorganize my approach to this production. Starting next episode, new episodes will drop as I catalog 25 discs. Enjoy!
Kim finally breaks bad, and Lalo becomes the most dangerous thing you would ever want to encounter - a wounded animal, one who appears to be wise to his betrayer. As Saul Goodman will go on to say in Breaking Bad, “It wasn't me, it was Ignacio!” "Something Unforgivable" asks more questions than it answers, but is easily the best episode of the season, and in my opinion the best television of 2020 to date. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mattsager/support

The actress best known for playing Kim Wexler on AMC's 'Breaking Bad' prequel opens up about her roots as a character actress, what she learned from prior short-lived TV series and what it's like to play her current show's only principal character whose fate is not already known. Credits: Hosted by Scott Feinberg, recorded by Matthew Whitehurst and produced by Matthew Whitehurst and Joshua Farnham.
SPOILERS! Slippin' Jimmy becomes Saul Goodman and although we know where he ends up from Breaking Bad, it's still a master class in storytelling. And watching Kim Wexler's ride or die smile drop at the end of the season? This is why Better Call Saul is one of the best shows on television.
Better Call Saul star Patrick Fabian and I get into the groove! Patrick, of course, plays sharply-dressed and sharp-thinking Howard Hamlin of the law firm Hamlin, Hamlin and McGill. He's also been in 137 TV shows and movies! Like Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, Beverly Hills 90210, Desperate Housewives, Will and Grace and more. You'll hear: What people do to Patrick at airports How becoming a dad moved him Why turning 40 shifted his perspective What makes the hair on his arms stand up Why he's like Kevin Bacon, in my opinion Why he loves the entertainment industry Being a working actor in Hollywood Getting nervous His approach to social media A Better Call Saul analysis Whether Howard is likable or a jerk After this, you'll feel like you know Patrick. And you'll feel good about it. # EXTRAS: Watch a bonus VIDEO Q&A with Patrick (available Wednesday night!): https://youtu.be/Od9BxwOAAcc See behind-the-scenes photos of Patrick and me in Beverly Hills: https://www.reallyfamouspodcast.com/now/fabian My conversation with Rhea Seehorn, aka Kim Wexler, Patrick's Better Call Saul co-star: https://www.reallyfamouspodcast.com/rhea-seehorn/go My conversation with Michael McKean: https://www.reallyfamouspodcast.com/michael-mckean Get inside scoop from me! https://www.reallyfamouspodcast.com/be-an-insider/ Donate to Really Famous podcast and get major appreciation from me: https://www.reallyfamouspodcast.com/donate Watch Patrick star in DriverX: http://www.drvrx.com/ # Say hi on social media.
